Just remembered another one. From my teen years:

Yes, Arachnid, and not even included in that is the list of 'Entire works of' -
Beatles, Bowie, Beegees (local boys of my youth), Abba, Presley etc, etc, etc.
I tried once to do the 'Songbook of my Life' like my kids were doing. It grew like Topsy and got so out of hand that I gave up.
We like different songs at different times for different reasons. I love listening to the radio and taking pot-luck on the random selection that they play. They always bring back memories.

Oh, I loved Peace in the Valley - and The Old Rugged Cross. We played that at my Dad's funeral.

That one shook the memory cells HalT. It was the song you sung in private accompanied by a make believe microphone and exaggerated mournful movement

I have a CD set of every Beatles song ever recorded whereas my sister has the vinyls. She also has two 45rpm of when the Beatles were the Quarry Men recorded in Germany. I sympathise with the dilemma CynB but will include more if you want. One surprise so far is the lack of Elvis nominations, especially if the nominations were increased to 10 then Presley would probably fill the next 5 of my selections

We have 40 music nominations so far. All Sudoku-ists are welcome to put in their nomination

Not sure I know my five, but one for sure is Sarah Smile (though they spell it Sara) by Hall and Oates.

Well done Spiderboy, (sorry, couldn't resist). A great suggestion to post some of your favorite music.
However, might I suggest you create a new page in the Forum Section under Off Topic. Then the songs can be consolidated on one page and be viewed easily by everyone instead of being lost on the Easy pages over the annuls of time.

Well I have narrowed my music down to the performers not the songs - That will take longer
At the top Jim Croce, then in no particular order, as said on TV, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, The Platters and almost any Doo Wop and that still leaves all the country people like Patsy Cline;
BUT I'll start with Billie Holiday singing Summertime. I have it playing right now as I look out at another wet day.

It's tough selecting one's top five songs.

I suspect most of us could select at least fifty or more songs that we like a lot.

Maybe while we have the old brain cells working we could post out favourite movie of all time.

Mine would be 'The Quiet Man'.

I even named my oldest son Sean after the movie character.

Thanks for that Beehive, an excellent suggestion. I have created a page and as soon as we have everything in I will enter on the page. In order to be fair I will list them in alphabetical order (except for mine coz they are the most important ).
