Good morning Wolf. It certainly is D-Day. It used to be well celebrated, but is barely noticed these days. A slow start to the site today.

When we were in France last year we visited the beaches at Normandy. To experience it all - since we couldn't do both - I went to the Commonwealth beaches & museums and hubby went to the US beaches and museums. Very moving and awe inspiring.

Yesterday was a busy day here. Niece and family came over, we spent the day cutting trees. Most were as round as a water bottle, here were some twice that size and bigger.

I just saw Arachnid's quiz. I'm going to play with that for a bit. I'll have to give some thought to my 5 favorite songs. I think it's going to be hard to choose.

Someone, in the last day or three, asked if anyone had heard from Eve. I used to exchange emails with her. Then she moved and got a new address. Never heard from her again. I was part of the changes in her life.

5 songs I will ALWAYS listen to....in no particular order:
Candle in the Wind - Elton John
You Raise Me Up - Josh Groban
Memory - from CATS
Bridge Over Troubled Water - S&G
Hallelujah - Peter Hollens

BTW, if you have not heard of Peter Hollens, look him up on YouTube. He's pretty amazing.

Lynne sang Memory for her final in this semester's singing class. She did very well. Had a couple of the ladies in the class in tears.

Well, it's fine and cold here. Not a cloud in the sky and the Bridgewater Jerry is creeping down the river.

No doubt we'll get Anne and Arachnid's weather in a few days from now. We usually do.

I like everybody's music choices. I could sit back and enjoy all of it.

PS I knew Amazing Grace would show up on Judy's list - so I left it off mine.

I tried for my 5 top songs, came up with a list of about 20 and couldn't bring myself to cut any out. So I'll pass on that one.

Trying to narrow it down to five was a pain, but here's the ones I picked:
Friends in Low Places (Garth Brooks)
Fernando (ABBA)
Hey Jude (Beatles)
Are You Lonesome Tonight? (Elvis)
White Christmas (Der Bingle)

Let's have the whole twenty CynB. I'll try for a shorter list;
Piano Man (Billy Joel)
She Loves You (Beatles)
Dancing Queen (ABBA)
Georgy Girl (The Seekers)
Men of Harlech (Treorchy Male Choir)

Snowbird  From Merrickville

all. I'm afraid I have too many favourites to narrow it down to five. My father in law was a member of the Orpheus Welsh Male choir, so I'm afraid I would list any number of their songs HalT. They sang at the Sydney Opera House several times to standing ovations.
