Oh dear your hubby a Marine? Ouch! My son is a Marine based in Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. I'm going to visit him and his family end of June to mid July. He's schedule to deploy to Iraq in July. I hope you have a strong family and friend circle to rely on when there's a deployment. If not include me as a part of your friend support system! We'll plan some Los Angeles social times to carry you through your alone time.

Hi to you too Caligirl,
I'm OK here. But thanks for your concern. All we're having is some rain and high winds. The high winds are normal since my farm is on the highest spot between Louisville KY and Nashville TN. If it hasn't blown away yet, it won't now. At least we always have a cool breeze in the summer.

Besides my 6 horses (I ride and drive), I have 80 head of Beef Cattle (primarily Red Angus); about 100 Bamoka Sheep; LOTS of chickens, turkeys, guineas, ducks and geese; 12 Collies, 9 cats, 30+ pigeons; a rabbit and lots of fish. I just lost my Llama last week. So it's a full house. Or rather, a full farm. But I cannot imagine life without animals around.

The reason that I can't put up pictures on here is because this is a Microsoft based site and my Mac is not that compatible. I COULD run Windows on it if I wanted to, but I would then be subjected to viruses. As it is now, no viruses at all. And no virus protection needed. I like not having to worry about that. Do you use a Mac too? That might be why you cannot put up pictures.

Caligirl, Thank you for your sacrifice(s) while your husband was deployed. Military wives seldom get the recognition they so richly deserve. And a big "thank you" to your husband for his service to our country!

Caligirl...Sorry to be so late getting around to welcoming you on your page, but I've been a tad busy thus far this year...but I'm here now and wishing you a big warm welcome...that wish however well meant, must pale with the great news that your hubby is arriving today after serving in Iraq...So this is to welcome you both with thanks and unending love...nothing I can give you could match what you have in the return of your hubby...so enjoy the reunion, the hugs and talking and the quiet you two will find to spend.....as I quietly close the door as I leave, I'll just put some flowers on the table next to some wine and snacks for the two of you.

Caligirl, I'm so happy for both you and your hubby for his safe return from Iraq. Enjoy yourselves and thank you both--you are both heroes in my eyes--him for fighting for our freedoms and you for staying and standing beside him. Again, a great big THANK YOU.
I well remember those returns; my husband was Navy and would be gone anywhere from 4 weks to 7-8 months at a time. It's somewhat difficult when they first return, you have to give up a little of your independence, but I truly believe it made our marriage (38 yrs now) stronger. God Bless.

Hi caligirl... I was talking to Gath, and he taught me how to use smilies!!!
You do NOT click and drag. You just click on the smilie you want, then when you click on submit comment, the smilie magically appears in your comment!!!
Cool, huh?

Hi Caligirl! Wonder if you are settled into your new duty station yet? Since I am a retired military wife (23 years!) I keep my eye out for the other military wives in Sudokuland! We have to stick together wherever we are. The support of others is SO important. Hope you are well & happy.

Oh, golly, my dear - does your current situation ever bring back some memories for me!! We were in temporary quarters more times than I care to remember - we moved 17 times in our 23 years!! And yes, the transitions part of the moving are the roughest. Interesting coincidence that a couple who were (& still are) good Navy friends of ours adopted a son while they were stationed in San Diego & named him TJ. He's now 26! Does your husband plan to stay in for 20? If you can stick it out there are LOTS of benefits. We're glad we did. Hang in there!
