Hello Roger - I was just going through the member's list and saw that you have joined the ranks.
Here's a bottle of our local Goundry Unwooded Chardonnay for you to try. When are you going to submit some photos on Flickr for us to see. Exactly where in England is Wantage?
Visit my page sometime and see a little of West.Aus. in my photos.
Cheers
Anne

Hello again Roger - thanks for the visit. I should have realised that Wantage was near Oxford because that's what you used to put on the site, wasn't it? Roger from Oxford.
I have spent a couple of hours in Oxford on a coach tour about 5 years ago, but when I visit England I always stay in a village near Ely in Cambridgeshire with old family friends. I was born in Bognor Regis in Sussex.
Cheers

Hello Roger, and welcome to your own Sudoku page from a Canadian! Hope you like pastry, as I have a habit of leaving a double chocolate fudge beavertail pastry from Ottawa as a page warming gift. Enjoy!

Hello Roger - it's so nice to put a face to a name, and a nice face it is, too.
Are you dressed ready for work?
I hope the weather has been alright for you. We're in for a wet weekend and week but haven't had much today, which is unusual because it usually rains on Saturdays when the children play their sports.
Cheers
Anne

Hello again Roger - I have old family friends in Cambridgeshire who I have been to Norway with about four years ago and two years ago I went to France with them. I was the navigator!!!! They go to Norway and Spain every year but decided to have a change and when they mentioned south/west France, I sort of invited myself along; offered to carry their bags for them! Now they have started going to Puy L'Eveque every year and I hope to go there with them again sometime. It's a beautiful area. I hadn't visited England from when I left at 7 years of age until 46 years later and now I've been there three times. Yesterday I put some photos on Flickr of the River Lot area in France.
Cheers

Hope things are going well for you and you're not caught up in any floods.

Gday Roger, its an absolute pleasure to meet you. Thank heavens, you look nothing like your avatar! Are you going to see the Simpsons Movie?
I have brought along a bottle of Aussie bubbly for you to try, also a plate of nibblies and an invitation to drop in to my page sometime. Take a stroll around the garden, find a seat in the sun and meet my family. Hope to see you there.

Hi all,

I don't get by as often as I might like - being retired can be busy stuff.

I did get to see the Simpsons Movie last weekend - he is my hero. He loves his family, he usually tries to do the right thing (in the end), and he knows that when you get to a certain age you should stop learning new things because your brain is full and it will mean some old stuff has to go to make way for the new stuff. Problem is you can't control which bits of old stuff go and they may be important!

mAen all for now.

Hello Roger - thanks for calling in to my page.
I'm still a few years off retirement but I only work three days a week unless I'm relieving for someone else in the office. I'd like to work full time but I'm comfortable in the job I do so I make do. Just means waiting a bit longer for the big overseas holidays I love to take.

I'm afraid I have never really watched the Simpsons so I can't make a comment on the show. Glad you enjoyed the movie though.

Hello Roger - I haven't seen you on the site much lately.
I'm looking forward to seeing your photos but you may have a very long wait. I submitted some on both hard and tough months ago and by reading comments, so have others, and we are still waiting for them to appear. Even some I submitted to the kid's page haven't shown up and we keep getting repeats on there.
I suppose the weather is getting colder in England now. We've had some beautiful weather lately and I've managed two long walks on the beach over the past two days. Back to work today, though, so I may go straight to the beach after work for a walk as there won't be any badminton tonight.
Cheers

Hi Roger, Noticed your comment on the hard puzzle today about the crowds and trying to get a good shot. We were in Mont Saint Michel the first part of January last year and yes there were people but still could get a good shot. A nice place to visit if you get the chance.

Gday Roger, just passing, thought I'd drop in! The weather is warming up here and I have been out in the garden. The roses are looking particularly beautiful and the smell is divine. I've brought you a bunch because I figured it was getting cold up your way and I thought these would cheer up the page.
Take care and just in case I don't catch you before hand, I hope you enjoy the upcoming festive season

Roger: Glad you enjoyed my gallery. They were taken in 1999. My mother asked me if I would be interested in going on a Safari. It wasn't at the top of my list, but when she said she was paying - it rose to the top quite quickly. About 6 months earlier, I had taken my dream "budget" 3+ week vacation to New Zealand.

The trip to Kenya was for Travel Agents - the red carpet was rolled out for us. We were flown between the different areas and had top flight accomodations. I could never have afforded such a trip. It was a trip to acquaint the Travel Agents with Kenya & the company hosting us - so the price she had to pay for the both of us was reasonable. I'm glad I went, thoroughly enjoyable.

I'm looking forward to returing to NZ (Southern Island)in the future and taking in Australia also. My dog is 13 yr old, and I don't want to leave her for a month.

Thanks for stopping by - I'll be changing the video daily through Christmas - do stop in again.

Thanks Roger for the welcome wishes,

May you and your family enjoy a joyful Christmas with the traditional gifts of love, peace and hope.

I always do lemon cordial for Christmas pressies. Love that home-made feel. It goes well in the hot Australian climate but doubles as hot lemon drink- You could even add your own whiskey. I'm actually going to make another couple of batches today and maybe mix some lemon and lime.... so here's yours
LEMON CORDIAL
Ingredients:
Juice of 7 large lemons
Grated rind of 5 large lemons
1 kg sugar
1.5 litres of water
25g citric acid
Method:
1.In a large pan, boil up sugar, water, grated peel and citric acid.
2.Take off the heat and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven ) bottles

Enjoy with my blessings!! fi
