ok you lot- Do feel free to pay me back and make a mess - i think i did a bit of damage to a few of your little whitewashed cabins this time last year .....

I've been bottling homemade lemon cordial and you are welcome to take a bottle with you


LEMON CORDIAL
Ingredients:
Juice of 7 large lemons
Grated rind of 5 large lemons
1 kg sugar
1.5 litres of water
25g citric acid
Method:
1.In a large pan, boil up sugar, water, grated peel and citric acid.
2.Take off the heat and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven ) bottles


This morningI'm about to make another batch but am going to try lemon lime... Save me your empty
wine and whiskey bottles- They mkae good cordial bottles. Meanwhile ... the barbie is hot - there's meat, salad and drinks in the fridge ... some spare towels on the side and a great pool for a swim. You're in Darwin now - It's 33 degrees centigrade or there abouts - Relax and enjoy!

Fi, I figured the abreviation was somthing locals would know, but I really did not know there was a North Territory! Never met anyone from there, actually.

the lemon cordial sounds nice, but I would have to go to my conversion table for amounts, another thing I cannot wrap my mind around, kg of sugar and such hehehe.

As to the lemon (and lime?) cordial, sounds like it would be a lovely summer drink with ice (and I would suggest a small shot of gin). No lemon trees in this part of the world unfortunately.
