Another cooler than norm afternoon and early evening. Al and I sat on the back porch till the mosquitoes decided we made a good dinner for them. I did enjoy the bit we were outside though.

I did the nap today, tummy is so much better. I ate a full meal at lunch without it hurting. Yep, think that was a 48 hour bug, so glad that is gone.

Can't remember what I read back a page, and Al is asking I come watch TV with him, so I am off. Later friends.

Another good quote Tami, even though it didn't rate a topp ...miscount maybe??? Or just Informational??? True no matter which!
I watched the trail results and felt that with that short turn around I'd hear a guilty verdict and was pleasantly surprised when I heard the not guilty verdict on the major charges and the guilty on the lying charges... It was the way I would have voted if I had been a juror...That girl lied like a rug...But that doesn't mean she is or isn't a murderer....It needed to be proves above a reasonable doubt and wasn't in MHO!!!!!
There were just too many unanswered questions and perhaps the state was more interested in a death charge because of the nature of the crime rather than letting the evidence they were able to collect lead them to a more reasonable charge! There is no way that this could result in a sentence of death. The states way of murdering folks it doesn't like!!!!While its true that I think murder is wrong no matter who commits it..folks or state.., we (THE STATE) have killed too many innocent folks with this kind of evidence, that's why many convicted folk have been freed due to DNA evidence now available... As I see it..nothing will bring back the innocent victims and the best punishment for the guilty is to rot in jail...but prove them guilty w/o reasonable doubt..and this wasn't done in this case! Justice may never come to that poor baby, but she is at peace and nothing will change that...May God continue to hold her in his arms... nuff said by me tonight...have a restful, unevenual day/night to all...Peace!

Mamacita, I think the jury believed bad science on the part of the defense, smoke and mirrors, but I never have believed in the death penalty, no matter what the crime. Mind you, I've never had a serious crime committed against someone I love...

Words of wisdom, Mama. As long as there is some doubt, the jury has to vote "not guilty". A person is innocent until PROVEN guilty. And nobody who was not in court heard all the evidence. We have to believe that the jury did the right thing.

Unfortunately the doubt was introduced with bad science. I saw it happening, and hoped this wouldn't happen. Defense attorneys know that the average person has minimal science education and they use it and use it and use it..

I also agreed that if they didn't have conclusive evidence, they couldn't bring in a guilty verdict...we shall see what happens from here...

Hi everyone, hope you're all well.
Just did some back reading to catch up - was struck by Theresa's comments on blackberries -here they are mostly prohibited/noxious weeds, and if you find them growing wild they may have been sprayed with something nasty! Maybe it's the climate difference that makes them so evil? Ah well, I guess the ones used in cooking are specially grown? Raspberries are my favourites - I love them! We've tried to grow them, but they never do well ...
Anyway ... have a good day everyone! :)

Back to decluttering, naturally did not get much done yesterday.
The bossman reminded me, we ARE painting the Loungeroom on the weekend.
I gave him the glare and said "it will be done"!

Good afternoon all and thanks for the birthday wishes for Colin. He had a nice day but very little sleep. He's home already today, since 11am (started at 1am), is asleep and hopefully will sleep until 10-11 pm to catch up.

I've just read through 2 pages - isn't it always the way, if you've been busy and haven't got here for a day or so, SA has been full of chatterboxes - but if you're at a loose end and come to SA for a chat or to read posts, someone would have broken the site and no-one has been here for hours.

Sorry MizT, I did realise I had not posted for a day or so. On Monday we went to daughter's farm and did some jobs for her. Friend came as well and when we took her home we had to get dinner for them and bather her daughter and put her to bed. friend's lymphedema is so bad she cannot use her right arm. However yesterday we did find another person to do the massage and this one has a much better result. Another appointment tomorrow. However friend needs someone with her when she has a shower. She does get about but slowly. She will be at her MIL's for dinner tonight.
Farm daughter had a few dead trees blown down in yesterdays wind. Good for firewood!

I also renewed my passport yesterday. That dark haired lady with s lightly slimmer face has gone! Anyway that will let me out of the country to travel for the next 10 years.
Rolanda, hope everything going well at that interview.

Now what did I read?
June - glad you found someone to massage your friend. Thanks for posting - like MizT, I was wondering.
Suzy - I'd go to Pam Ayres with you! Must look to see if she's coming my way and when.
Gail - loved the Punch and Judy story. Thought about all you Melbournians when I heard about the earth tremor.
Rolanda - big night tonight - Mat must be getting his marching orders.
Theresa - don't you love girlie games? My girls yesterday were playing talent quests with one taking turns to mark the others. I marked Lachlan - gave him 8 1/2 for being ridiculously funny. He didn't want to join into 'childish girlie games' but performed with gusto eventually.
Now I've forgotten - Nola was here, so were Brenda and Judy, Vicki still hasn't got her stove (grrrrr!), we all want Heidi (and IH) to be able to keep Timmy, Julie posted an excellent microcosm of the world, Mamacita - basically I agree with all you said - I just wish there could be proper justice for the little one.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.
Suzy, the branch does look small in the picture but I can imagine that it is not. Looks like it could block the driveway.
Rolanda, keeping your son in my thoughts for a positive outcome from the interview. The conversation about the trial was from my area. Casey Anthony was accused of murder for her 2 year old daughter.

Morning all.

Broni, take care.

Suzy, if that is your driveway in the photo, you can tell the branch is a big one.

The lady who said she would drop off some catfood for the feral cats dropped off a big bag yesterday. It should last a week and is muchly appreciated.

It's starting to storm a bit, so maybe I should shut down for a while.

A cold windy night. Hope you are OK with things being blown about Suzy. D1 rang and was worried as she has two very tall gum trees at the back of her house. I think she is going to sleep in a bedroom at the front tonight! Lost a few trees in the paddocks yesterday.
The soup hit the spot, followed by baby octopus and potato wedges. I have slept the last couple of hours while hubby watched the thugs football. Looks like Qld won again. I could not give a stuff!!!

Judy, I can't understand how wild blackberries would be considered noxious - maybe because they spread so fast? They sure are sweet and yummy.

Loud clap of thunder - scared the beejeebers out of me. Bye for now.

Blackberries are a noxious weed here Theresa. Grow like mad, and harbour snakes. Took a lot of work to get rid of them when our daughter bought her 10 acres! Imported by the English along with rabbits, foxes along with a lot of other pests they should have left behind.( I do have lots of English ancestors) I do like eating the berries and like Judy, love raspberries.

I should be picking up as vacuuming lady comes tomorrow but think I will go to bed with a book. Long haired, dark coloured cat is molting everywhere so will be good to have the carpet look clean.
