Our own light.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does'nt serve the worls.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people wont't feel insecure around you.
We are born to minifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us, it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As weare liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

And with all that just got a call, friend home alone waiting for partner to come home, cannot breathe unless she is sitting upright and would just like it to be all over. I guess I will find it hard to get to sleep tonight as well now.

Just noticed some typing errors above. Should have spell checked.

Oh June, I have heard that from many people over the last few years, I think the relief of their wish being granted in the end was a blessing, it was the only thing that made it a little easier to accept.
Love and peace to you all xoxo

Can't believe I'm still up after midnight - goodnight all.
Oh and Queensland won - 6 series in a row! Only watched the last half hour, that was enough. Vicki will share my joy at the result!

Finally got the hay bales stacked in the hay loft in the horse barn. It's a big enough supply to last the winter here. I'm hot, sweaty and covered in chaff. But it's a load off my mind. Robert has gone back to his apartment.... he forgot to take his epilepsy meds this morning, and I don't want him operating a tractor without it.

Got home from school early today. No point in staying if your only student for the day left early.

Taking the 3 stooges out to lunch. Have a doctor appt. later, so I will be nice to them now.

See you all later.

JUNE huge hugs dear! I know it is so scary for your friend, not being able to breathe. Here, anyone with severe breathing problems, can get a medication, ATIVAN, to take when breathing gets difficult. It helps some with the breathing, but it helps more in coping with the short of breath feeling. Does your friend have something like that?

I know it is hard to hear her say she is ready for it to be over. One of the hardest things you could ever do but the greatest gift you can give her is to tell her it is OK to go, that everything she leaves behind will be cared for.

HUGE hugs to you and your friend and your families. Do keep us informed, we care.

Busy morning here, and now I must go to town. Need Milk and bananas for AL. I might get me something for lunch, too. I do miss our going out to lunch.
I have read, but no time to comment. Hope to be back later.
Hugs to all with extras.

Hello All,
June, I agree with MizT regarding friend...While its hard to hear, it means that she is finally accepting the fact that this is not the way she wishes to live and deep inside I think we all know when that time comes.... I experienced this with many of my loved ones. The fact that I was able to reassure them that it was okay to reach for better, I knew that I too had found some form of peace in helping them find that release. May the Dove of Peace help and guide you as you drink from this bitter sweet cup. I continue to hold you and friend in deep prayer for a soft landing.

The opening quote is most certainly a 10 folks... and so many of you here have allowed your lights to brightly shine so often that we may have caused power failures if we were plugged in to the real world!Keep it going...Its what we all do together AND individually that make us so great!!! We could teach the whole wide world a thing or two if they were only smart enough to pay heed!

Just had a call from my friend. She had phoned an after hours number and they suggested she take some other medication she had on hand (morphine derivative), partner got more pillows to sit her upright so she got quite a bit of sleep. More than I did!
I have to go over soon, not sure when I get back.
Thanks for all the hugs. Because of all the medication to hand I am very careful what I say.

June, I am so glad that friend got some sleep. I do hope you get a nap today and some sleep tonight, you need it to keep doing all you are doing.

Does friend have a recliner? Sometimes for the ill, this is a good alternative for sleeping, more comfortable and not requiring someone to help with the pillows. An electric adjustable hospital bed would be another alternative, but recliners are usually less expensive.

Theresa, I was thinking about the blackberries - first, they are not native, so there are no natural enemies. Second, Australia doesn't have the harsh winters, snow, etc, that might control them naturally ... possible reasons for their out of control growth? Interesting to wonder what it would be like if our ancestors hadn't imported so many really bad things ...

Judy, blackberries are really a noxious week here in the south, whether so classified or not. There are no natural enemies, they go formant in winter so are not winter killed, and birds eat the berries and scatter the seed, and they make good habitat for rabbits and small rodents, which attract the snakes. Besides, if you kill them off, cut them down, and do not remove every single root and underground runner, up another will come. We are fighting a loosing battle here with them, had a HUGE patch of them in the back, that were full of very small berries. I think the birds ate them, or they just fell off to reseed themselves and make more. But I do love to eat them!! Blackbetty cobler is a great southern tradition. I just did not get out to pick any of them this year.

Good morning MizT, you posted while I was typing.

Cyn, I'll join you in your celebrations (actually I think I over-indulged in the celebrations last night and don't feel so good this morning). It was a great win and an excellent way to celebrate Darren Lockyer's career.

Blackberries produce on 2 year old canes. The Agriculture agents at the experimental farm came up with a way to trellis blackberries to make them a cash crop. the trellis is a Y shape and the V part of the Y can be moved back and forth. First year canes when planted are attached to one side of the Y. Following year, the mew first year canes are attached to the other leg of the Y. The fruit bearing 2 year olds are allowed to be upright, whhile the new canes are sort of bent out of the way. After harvesting the berries, the old 2 year canes are cut to the ground, so no more deadwood with the worst of the stickers will be around. The new canes are allowed to come upright and wait for spring, when the newest canes are then attached to the trellis that was vacated. Alternating continuously like this, you will always have this years bearing wood and next years fruit bearing wood on the trellis and no dead wood. No canes are allowed outside these carefully cultivated rows under the trellis, so no rodents, no snakes.

They have even come up with some briarless varieties, too. Because they are labor intensive, farm raised blackberries are very expensive in the markets, but farmers do tend to sell all they care to grow.

Interesting, MizT, so we aren't the only ones with berry problems! I just had to look up a map to see exactly where Alabama is (comparatively) ... it's pretty far south - do you get snow in winter? (Don't laugh at me - I had to give up geography early - I did German instead!) ;)

MizT, the above was a comment on your earlier post - thanks for the blackberry info. These new crops may be in Oz now, I hadn't heard about them. I once did a few months holiday work at an agricultural research station - finding ways to control blackberries was one of their jobs.

When we bought our house in SA (South Australia, not our SA!), part of the bag yard was overgrown with blackberries. We started the laborious task of removing them and were very successful. We would cut the cane as low as we could, paint the wound with a poison bought for the job, then once they had dies off, we dug out the roots. Kept an eye for two years and dealt with any cheeky shoots!

Just had a wee bit of excitement around here... but all is well.
Weather was suffering from the triple H's....Hazy,hot and humid, when a short but fully packed thunderstorm cooled everything off nicely...so I decided to put my dinner making on hold and take Jazz out for his walk. As we turned down behind my house, I noticed two police cars and several neighbors milling about near the sewers. I thought that one of the little kids had finally gotten trapped there during the storm...they continue to fool around there, repeatedly being chased away by police...but luckily there were no human kids, but a family of mom duck and her new born duck babies... they were rescued after a while and lots of patience on the part of the neighbors and police working together...so Jazz and I meandered home only to walk into a smoke filled house...I had left a pan with butter on the stove and hadn't turned it completely off before going out...what a mess...but as I said..all is well.... cleared the smoke away by turning on all of the ceiling fans and opening my nice cool smoky house windows and doors for a while...glad it had at least cooled off, but even happier that nothing more serious happened....Now I am off to rest myself and ease my mind completely...See you on the morrow. Peace!

Mama, how scary about the smoke filled house! So glad it was not worse.

Judy, we have occasional snow, it does not stay long if we get it. We do have temps cold enough to kill tender plants, and for trees and plants to go dormant. A snow here is a major event, schools close, roads close, when snow is forecast people go to grocery to stock up on batteries and emergency supplies, cause we have no snow removal equipment in most towns. Mostly you arre stuck till weather moderates and snow melts. Last winter we had 2 snowstorms that closed roads and schools, and we were stuck at the hospital both times with AL and pneumonia, got there just before roads became impassable.

Typically, we have warm fronts come through that are often rainy, winter daytime temps up to 50 or occasionally 60. Then a cold front comes through and temps drop, a few days of cold and it warms again. Nighttime temps get way below freezing during a cold snap, cold enough that forecasters warn, protect your (water) pipes and bring pets inside. Now are you sorry you asked?

Rolanda, I love strawberries too, my favorite fruit.

Time for bedtime, hugs to all.

Greetings, Fellow Sudokuaholics! Just checking in - nearly 11:30 p.m. here. (Currently reading page 141.)

Broni, sounds like you got a lot done on the boat! No wonder you were sore & tired! I hope the shower helped!

Brenda, I'm glad to hear that your son is feeling better. I hope he enjoyed the picnic at the lake!

Rolanda, I'm glad your friend Sue was able to stay overnight with you - gave her a bit more time with her Dad, I'd guess. How did S#2's interview go?

Victoria, we'll be thinking positive thoughts for your hubby as the 15th approaches!

Mamacita, it is always a pleasure to read your posts! I hope your itching is improving!

June, I'm so glad you found someone who can give your friend a good lymphatic massage. I hope your friend is not in pain and is as comfortable as she can be! Thinking of you and your friend and family!

Theresa, I hope the continued medical appointments go well! X--rays and an MRI? Your doc is leaving no stone unturned. I'm not too surprised that your blood pressure was elevated in light of all of the required appointments/tests! If it's a pinched nerve, I hope it will soon recover! Glad to hear that your grandie #1 seems to be doing better! Do you think some/most of her stress is school-related?

MizT, I hope your discovery of the way the pain meds were affecting you continue to improve your sleep! I'm thinking I need to take something tonight, as the sciatica has really been acting up and I need the sleep! This is NOT a good time for the sciatica to be acting up!

Heidi, it's interesting how quickly Timmy has made himself part of your family! Tami may be right. He may have chosen you - and may have been sent by Lucky. (I'm remembering the 2 horses that may be parent & child, also.) I hope whatever is best for Timmy is considered in finding his forever home!
