Julie, MizT, June, Theresa and any others I have missed my Sudoku vibes are with you all.
Julie, think you asked, the work on my boat is now over for me, now up to others to finish it. Was worth it but will take me a few days to recover, this old body 'ain't what it used to be.

Visited the hospital early afternoon. She was very sleepy as she was high on morphine. They had drained 1300 mls of fluid from her lung in about 14 hours. She was due to have Chemo tomorrow so I do hope they continue that treatment, if not tomorrow but soon. If they stop the cancer will go mad again.
I am not brave, I do have my moments, but it is all part of life. We just have to cope with what the Good Lord gives us.
I do feel all your hugs by you just being there to 'listen'. It is necessary to talk about what is happening and here you can read or not as you like. Where as I know my friends want to know what is happening but there is a limit to how much they want to talk about it all.

June, your friends just don't know what to say, and as a result quite often say nothing. You are going through a horrible situation that no one but you can understand. We are there with you throughout this ordeal which no parent should have to face.

Theresa, will be thinking of you on 1st when you give up the dreadful weed and 2nd when you see the specialist.
MizT, hope Al soon starts eating all the necessary food and that you soon feel much better.
Heidi, if Robert comes back will you be able to get the cottage back for him to live in?
Broni, pleased you have finished your part of cleaning the boat. Take care and recover!
Hope the teaching is going well Suzie, and you get lots of work this term.
Hugs to everyone else. I do read all your messages.

June, as you say, we can read as much or as little as we wish, but I have to be honest and say I just don't know what to say, or how much to ask of you. I wish we could be with you by your side to be more physically supportive, but I think I speak for us all and say I feel your pain, and am overwhelmed by your circumstances.
Say whatever you want or need, we are here for you. xoxo

Robert will still be working for me, but probably only a couple days a week. He needs the income. He will be living an hour away, but his favorite sister and BIL live 4 miles from here, and he'll want to be down this way regularly.

Had a nasty thunderstorm all last evening and night. We lost computer and television service, as well as home phone, and there were many short power failures. Dennis no longer freaks as he cannot hear the thunder any more. Hollie would have lost it completely if she had still been here. So I was able to sleep last night.

Heidi, sorry you hqad such bad weather last night, but glad you got to sleep. I am glad the other dogs know they are safe inside with you and do not require special attention during storms.

June, I want to hear what is going on with your friend, and with you. I read every word, just so I know what you are going through now. Feel free to e-mail or PM me if you need to "talk" about it. I care.

I do think Teresa was right, your friends care, they just do not know what to say. If your friends ask if there is anything they can do for you, perhaps you could say, "you could just listen when I need to talk about it". I am sure they would be willing. So many people are just afraid of saying the wrong thing, so they say nothing.

Gil just lost one of his business partners a couple of hours ago, to Parkinsons. Roger has been in horrible shape for a long time, and has really suffered. As I told Gil, it is a blessing that he's now no longer suffering.

Morning all,
Julie, your friends are in my thoughts.

June, as always you and friend and family remain in my thoughts. You can never post updates too often for me!

Broni, hope your body feels better soon.

Heidi, I'm sorry about Gil's partner, and that you lost the opportunity to have Robert living so close. It would have made your life so much easier with his unreliable vehicles and all.

Another day another dollar - wish me luck because I didn't spend the time I should have last night reviewing lessons..

It is so humid here, I almost wish it would storm. Forecast for tomorrow said a humidex of 46C. If so, I believe that would break a record. Guess I'll spend most of the day in the bedroom because that's where the air conditioner is. A nice quiet day of reading perhaps.

It's hot and humid here, too. We're back to heat indexes in the 110 to 116 ℉ / 43 to 46.6℃ for the rest of the week. I sent Robert home after 2 hours (I hadn't wanted him to work at all in this heat, but he insisted) after he couldn't keep water down. I've told him to stay home tomorrow. I was working in my tractor, with air conditioning, and I overheated. But I have to get this good alfalfa hay in the barn.

Heidi, if you have any leftovers, save some for me please. that sure does sound good.

Had to phone the doc today, the antibiotic for my stomach gave me a yeast infection in the mouth and throat, Thrush. I now have the swish and swallow anti-fungal to get rid of it. Not fun. food at least does not taste good, at worse, it hurts to eat.

We had a rain shower tonight, just north of us had a real thunder storm with some flash flooding. It is pleasantly cool outside now.

I had to drive up to pharmacy to pick up my medication. I drove Al's work van, it is the one currently operational. It is also the one that likes to go fast. Three times I noticed it was going 50+ in a 40 mph zone. Luckily no traffic, no police .

Weather must be miserable for Theresa to almost wish for a storm . Stay cool tomorrow dear, you Canadians are not used to temps like that. That humidity is courtesy of the Gulf of Mexico. It had to come by here on it's way up to you.

I read today a city in IOWA had a heat index of 129* yesterday. The local meteorologist said they had never heard of it being that high.

Going to hold down my recliner and talk to hubby a bit, till my nighttime meds kick in. Hope this indigestion tonight does not keep me awake like last night. I am tired of all these tummy problems, perhaps my doc does need to send me to a gastro enterologist.

Hello, Everyone! It's past midnight here. Everything seems later than usual today. My acupuncture appointment started late and ran later, followed by a couple of errands. It was after 8 when I got home, then had to think about dinner before checking email, etc.

Thanks for prayers for Paul and Jan. It has been reported that Paul responded to a couple of his visitors today. (I'm not sure if that means he appeared to recognize them, that he realized visitors were there, or whether he was able to speak. Unfortunately, he's in a hospital about 45 minutes away and we can't get there to visit him right now. Continued prayers would be appreciated!

Mamacita, how awful to lose a long post! I'm certainly glad you were able to reproduce it! Your words are so eloquent and heartfelt! I hope they convey to June and her friend what we are all feeling: cyber hugs and words are only an indication of how we feel.

June, we wish we could be there with you to hug you and relieve you of some of the more mundane chores so you could spend as much time with your friend and her family as possible!

MizT, I hope you finally were able to get some sleep! Do you think your last pill of the day is causing stomach upset every day? If so, perhaps you could take it with a little food or your doctor could suggest something else you could do to make it easier to take!

Broni, great news that the portion of the work that you do on the boat is finished and other work will be done by other hands! Rest up and let your muscles recover! How is Possum doing?

June, you are doing a marvelous job of coping with the situation and setting an example for all of us to accept what life brings! I so admire you! I hope our words help bolster your strength to deal with each day and what it brings! I suspect Theresa is right - that your friends just don't know what to say and don't want to risk saying something that might be misconstrued or seem offensive. It's easier for us. We can take our time to think and even rewrite what we have written if it doesn't seem right.

June, you are an amazing woman to be able to take the time to include all of us and our requests and needs in your thoughts and comments - when I'm sure that every waking and most sleeping moments are taken up with the situations you are facing. Thank you for the inspiration!

Gail, you're right that we look forward to June's updates. We can read as much or as little as we like; we can postpone reading them until later if we wish. It's hard to know what to ask or when, which is another advantage we have over June's non-SA friends. Here, one person might ask, but we all get the benefit of the answer, eliminating the need for each of us to ask.

Heidi, I'm glad Robert will still be able to work for you part-time! I'm glad you were able to get some sleep in spite of the storm last night!

RIP to Gil's business partner, Roger! As you say, Heidi, a blessing.

Suzanne, it sounds like you had a busy day in Salt Lake C

Suzy, what an awful group of kids they must have been! Gives them too much credit to call them a class! Take a deep breath and remember who they are so you can be well-prepared for them if you ever need to substitute teach for them again.

Suzy, sounds like you need a wee {hug} too...bl00dy kids!

RIP Roger, no more terrible discomfort.

I often think of our friend John who also has Parkinsons. He is in hos early 50s and it seemed to come on with such a rush. His confidence has gone completely, and his boss had to put him off as he was no longer able to work quickly enough. (He is a house-building carpenter and was no longer able to keep pace with his coworkers. Being a very small company, it was the only choice the boss had unfortunately). Last time I spoke to his wife about him, she said he was able to pick up a couple of small odd jobs locally, so that helps, but seeing as he is almost unable to drive and has become very embarrassed and reclusive, this will not go on very much. The sad part is that they needed the two wages as they have helped their two oldest children financially by investing in property that they live in, but are now not able to help their youngest in the same way. My girlfriend sees herself having to stay at work much later than retirement age.

My friend called this morning and said she had deteriorated and was having problems with the fluid in her arm. The hospital (one of the largest in Sydney region) did not have a person to do lymphatic massage. I contacted the one we found and asked if permission was given would he go to the hospital. He said yes but he had appointments all day and may not be able to get there till after 8pm. We went and Ken and I spent quite a bit of time this morning rubbing her legs and arms. We left about 12.30pm. A very wet rainy day and no available parking near the hospital so guess who slipped over on the wet grass into the mud???
However Friend just rang and she has had the massage and is feeling a lot better. She did look a lot brighter today than she did yesterday and had drained 2 litres of fluid before lunch.
We are going back to the hospital shortly.

June, you be careful, the last thing you need at the moment is to fall and badly hurt yourself. Pleased your friend is a little more comfortable after the massage. Hopefully she will be able to have one whenever she needs it. ((HUGS))
