The plumber is here working. Last time .... was it only a week ago? .... he had to replace all the pipes in the modular home that I bought. We're nor starting to replace pipes in this house. Yesterday several leaks sprung up. I NEED to finish moving hay... I have 36 rolls of good alfalfa hay that HAS to be in the barn before this evening's rain, and I can't leave the house while the plumber is working because he's worried about the dogs if I'm not here. Of course, IH fled to the plant so he's no help.

Feels like 40C and it's still climbing. Humidex warning is in effect. I hope we don't have a "brown out" with all the air conditioners on. Apparently we are under a heat dome that is not allowing any cooler weather to come in. We are also under a severe thunderstorm watch. Yuck.

Oh June, I am so sorry you fell on way out of hospital. Just that jarring, sudden stop is enough to make you sore and achey for days. I do hope you recover soon.

Your poor friend, so many ups and downs lately. I know you wonder just how many more times she can rally. I think of her, you and family so often, you are never far from my thoughts. Wishes and prayers for the best possible afternoon/night for her.

Theresa, that " heat dome" covers much of the Midwestern USA. Here in the south, we are on the edge of it, and we get the rain and the thunderstorms. There are flash flood warnings for the far north of Alabama. I too hope that you do not loose power, that could be traumatic.

Heidi, we also have sprung a leak in the pipes. Hubby is trying to contact our handyman to see if he can come work on it. It is a pin hole leak, I hear it but cannot see it. It stops when water is turned on anywhere else, cause that relieves the pressure. I hate leaky pipes! Hope yours are soon repaired, and you can get the Hay moved to the barn.

After replacing some leaky pipes, we discovered a crack in the bushings in a shower. The shower fixtures now has to be replaced as well.

House repairs seem endless Heidi. I know I have to arrange for someone to replace facias and guttering on our house. I'm going to have them replaced with plastic so they will never need painting again.

Good afternoon everyone. Had a bad thunderstorm this afternoon. We are about to go out for ice cream and taking Harley with us. The place has a special doggie cup, soft serve vanilla ice cream with a doggie cookie on it.

Looks like another wet miserable day here.
When there is already enough emotional tension why do some people have to make more???
Laura's father detests my other daughter (feeling mutual). He was very happy for her to look after Laura all last week but because Belinda Emailed Laura's teacher to say her mother was in hospital he has made a big fuss, upsetting Sharon, then talking to Ken about it, upsetting me, and probably Ken sided with Laura's father. (I had already told Belinda she had done the wrong thing because I know who would make the big fuss if he found out, which he did, from the teacher).
The thing is we all had to pick up the pieces when he did not want his daughter and wanted very little to do with her for the first few years of her life. I know Sharon still worries about Laura's well being with her father looking after her.
I know I should not voice my concerns here on open forum. Just know you understand.

Morning all,
Theresa, those feel like temps sound awful!! No hugs for you because it's just too hot to hug! I'm really cold here, but I'll make do with gloves..

June, I hope you are not feeling too bad after your fall, and that friend has a good day...

I have a song stuck in my head. We heard it at Alie's last gig and she has played it at least a dozen times since. "I'm really quite attractive, in a panda sorta/kinds way".. He calls himself Obscura Hail and says his father wrote the song. His father was there and he made fun of him, in an incredibly loving way, all through the song - when he performed it live at least.

June - this is just what you didn't need, tensions rising between family members. I hope it settles down, there's enough for you all to be concerned about without adding more.
Hope today is comfortable both physically and emotionally for all concerned. Hugs as usual.

June.... What did Belinda do wrong? I think Laura's teacher needs to know about future and present upsets for Laura. If her father hadn't notified the teacher, someone who cared about her should. It's not as if Belinda let slip a major government secret. Laura's father sounds like a world class jerk. And I WILL say that in an open forum.

I tried to move the alfalfa hay into the hay barn today (rolled yesterday) but my tractor quit on me. It just got out of the shop last week. I am now at the point where I swear at it.

That tractor has given you a lot of Problems Heidi.
I agree the father is a jerk. He was going to tell the teacher, as well as Belinda's Email Sharon had already texed the info. He is just jealous of Belinda and her relationship with Laura. He also likes to stir up problems for people.
He resents the fact that Belinda likes to act the fool with Laura and he thinks children should be little angels who are seen and not heard. Also Belinda bought Laura a dog which she keeps at her place and he HATES dogs. (enough said!)
Suzy, hope you have better kids today. relief teachers always get the worst ones! Just think of the pay packet!

June, my thoughts going out to you. I don't understand some people. I agree the father is a jerk, but can't he be nice for his daughter's sake. I know it is not going to happen, but I can hope for Laura's sake it will.

There is something seriously wrong with people who hate animals.

People ice cream or dog ice cream, Tami? I buy the dog stuff for my kids. Hollie would go into ecstasy over it, so before she was euthanized I let her enjoy some.

The mechanic rushed over and worked on the tractor. It looks like it was just the fuel filters this time. I'm going out on it again first thing in the morning and will find out how it runs then. My back is hurting now. I just hope it doesn't rain tonight.

Rolanda, glad to hear the all is going well with the fix-up. Hope the open house is a success. It is hard to believe that 3 weeks have passed. I am trying to comprehend where the last 6 weeks of summer have gone. I have 3 weeks off until I go back to school. This summer has gone by quickly.

Good Night Friends. Al and I went out and re-provisioned today, he has formula making supplies for the next 2 weeks. I think I got eggs and bread for me, oh, some yogurt. Mouth is so sore eating is not fun, but yogurt and fruit set well. Thrush is not getting better yet, seems to be spreading, hope it is better soon.

June, would you like us to help you throw cyber rocks at the jerk? You get to choose the size of the rocks, from pebbles to boulders. Cyber rocks do hot hurt him, but give us something to do to vent our frustrations and make all of us feel better We do not like anyone who upsets you and friend, not nice at all. Hugs to you and your friend.

Theresa, I hope you got some relief from the heat and humidity after sundown. Remember, light weight loose clothing, while inside a thin cotton night gown would do. Get a spray bottle of cold water, mist yourself and sit in front of a fan, it will help.

Suzanne, sounds like you had a busy day in Park City. It is good to sepnd quality time with hubby.

Rolanda, that ha been a fast makover. Having it all clean and in good repair, does that cause you second thoughts about selling it? Stay and enjoy the "new" for a bit??

Heidi, crossing fingers and toes that it does not rain on your hay tonight. Hope the tractor behaves tomorrow.

There was more I wished to say, but even toothpicks are not working to keep my eyes open. Off to bed for me, after hugs to each of you.

Afternoon all,
Sitting here oh hold waiting for the family assistance office. We still qualify for a bit of the family tax benefit. I was going to cancel it and just get it back at tax time because with the casual teaching I can't estimate my income, but they have cancelled it for me, because I have moved and they do not know where we are living!! Where on earth did they get that from?! And if they think we've moved, why did they post the letter to the old address?? Government departments!!

June, I agree that Belinda did the wrong thing, but his reaction is seriously out of proportion, especially when he should be considering the young child he is responsible for. I bet you didn't have time to even think about your aches today! {{{{HUGS}}}}

Rolanda, you have been working hard! Hope the house sells quickly for a good price..

MizT, you didn't get much for you - hope you already had a big stock!

Judy, you will love the movie.

The kids were no better today, but I coped better. In my last class, last period on a Friday - it was always going to be bad - half the class were being good and the other half were playing up. I pretty much left them alone, figured they weren't going to listen no matter what I said. Then, toward the end of class, I was hit on the head with a piece of paper screwed into a ball. I didn't say a word, just walked out of the room to the science staff room and got the head teacher. In the 60 seconds I was gone, they got all out their books and the paper had disappeared... He didn't raise his voice, just gave them a talking to. (Turns out he is Buddhist, should have known, he has the patience of a saint). A couple of them gave him a hard time too so he said he was going to get the deputy. In 30 seconds one of the kids had removed his outer layer of clothes (not uniform) and sat there shivering in shorts and shirt (uniform). He didn't bring the deputy back, but talked to them some more.

You'd think that would be the end of it, but no, 2 guys were making stupid noises, I told them off, tried to explain some work to another student, in a loud voice so she could hear me - and one of the students recorded the whole thing on her phone!!! You should put that on youtube, the others cry. I got the head teacher again and the file was deleted - I hope!

Good Evening, All!

Gail, thinking of your friend John who has Parkinson's.

June, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you, your family and your friend! Is the lymphatic massage considered to be alternative medicine, like chiropractic and acupuncture are here? I'm so glad you were able to find someone who does it so well and that it provides relief for your friend! I'm so sorry that you slipped and fell in the mud! I hope you didn't pull anything in the process! Please be careful!

Tami, what a great BOPP you posted! I'm picturing all of the smiling mirrors!

When I left I dropped in to talk to the guy who organises casuals because he has said they might need me to continue with these classes next week. He still doesn't know, hopes to know on Sunday morning.. But, someone told him I'm an engineer, and I'm now down to possibly cover maths too! I suspect engineering studies also, as the guy who has been covering them has taken on a long block at another school. Apparently if I put my name down at that school I would be working almost constantly, but it has an even worse reputation than this one so I have baulked at that..
