My back has been hurting badly for the last few days, and today has been especially bad. I've had to take the maximum allowed pain meds. Which has upset my tummy something fierce. This evening, I vomited up blood. I don't want to go to the ER because tomorrow is my annual trip to the State Fair with my closest friend. We love going to the Oak Ridge Boys' concert. If I vomit up any more blood, I will go in, tho'.

Nola, what wonderful news about the cyst! Thank you for letting us know!

I can't remember if I commented yet: Cyn, thinking of you and your family on the passing of your Mum. May she rest in peace!

Rolanda, so sorry to hear about your Tante Annie's passing. May she rest in peace! I hope your Mum's reaction to it isn't too severe.

Congrats and best wishes to your Godson and his fiancee, Rolanda!

Theresa, keep up the good work! Each day accomplished without smoking is a bonus!

How nice to see Mariana on page 185!

Afternoon everyone.
Hi Julie, nice to see you posting.
Heidi, vomiting up blood, no good.
Hope you can get that seen to sooner rather than later.
Suzi, has Ali got tonsilitis?
A silly day here weather wise, very difficult to get the washing dry.
I have done a bit of sewing but really cannot be stuffed to do anything.

Yes Heidi I thought it might be that.
Have made some sausage rolls here and with the left over pastry some Jam Tarts.
Nice smell in the house on this crappy day we are having here.
Hubby has a cold and is like a bear with a sore head.

Morning all. Coffee is ready for whoever wants a cup. Boys just left for softball practice. Hubby plays, kids help warm up the "old folks" I have to go to school to finish my classroom. I left a few minor details so it should not take long. Whatever I can't put away I will just shove in the closet and deal with it later The news is reporting that this may be a short week of school. Tropical storm Irene has formed in the Atlantic and appears to be on a direct course for Florida. It is expected to be a category 1 hurricane when it crosses us on Friday. A hurricane or tropical storm will close the schools. If it is even suspected that winds may be strong enough to cause problems for school buses they will shut down. I enjoy the days they shut down and then the storms decide at the last minute to change direction.

Good Morning friends. Thanks Tami for the coffee, nothing like that first cup of the day! Last chance to get your room ready, tomorrow is first day of school? Are your boys ready to go back?

Theresa, hope you had a good shopping experience. No T-storms today?

Gail, hope the family enjoyed the belated birthday dinner.

Viv, thank you please, I will have one sausage roll and a jam tart, they smell so good. Goes well with Tami's coffee

Heidi, no more vomiting blood? I do hope you have that looked after. So sorry your back is so bad. wishing it eases for you soon.

I need to get something done this morning. One thing, I must make a birthday card on computer, since I forgot to buy one yesterday. Tomorrow is daughter's birthday. She is comming down sometime today to celebrate with us and get her present. It is green and one size fits all, will fit easily into the card. She has been without a sofa since moving here in February, and has found a nice one with loveseat, second hand, at a very good price, delivery included. We are helping her get this for birthday, and it should be delivered tomorrow.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. Till later.

Feeling better today. No more vomiting, fortunately. Freshly showered and getting ready to leave for the fair in 1 1/2 hours. It's going to be FUN! The building is beautifully air conditioned, too, so I'll be comfy. I just need to locate my small binoculars for the Oak Ridge Boys concert. I like close ups of Richard Sterban (the gorgeous bass singer.

Heidi, hope you enjoy the day. so glad no more vomiting blood, but you still need to get that checked out, you know.

Cloudy out, but that is good, as it is hot, and sun out would make my house get to hot for AC to handle.

Tami, I am watching that Tropical Storm Irene with you. Local forecasters said it is too early to tell where it will go after hitting Miami. It could curve out to Atlantic, it could go up the east coast or it could enter the Gulf and be a weather maker for us here in Alabama. Would be nice if it went far westward, and brought Texas some rain, but that was not mentioned as a possibility. they are in such a drought, many towns fear running out of water soon.

MizT, today was our 2 week haul of groceries. There was a nasty srorm overnight last night that lasted for hours. And here's what today's weather says:

Severe thunderstorms possible this afternoon and evening. Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Wind gusts to 90 km/h, hail to 2 cm in diameter, and heavy downpours are likely with these thunderstorms. A tornado is possible.

I was actually having a nap when thunder woke me up - it sounded like an explosion! It is still so dark out. And of course here I am home alone AGAIN.

I saw on FB this morning that my nephew is quitting smoking today. I wish him luck. He's 25 years old, so it's nice to see a young person trying to quit.

Off to put the rest of the groceries away and figure out what I want for supper. Also want to search the Oak Ridge Boys on the internet and see what Heidi's eye candy looks like.

Okay, here is one of the posts I lost, it was saved to my computer..

Heidi, sorry to hear about your back. I hope it resolves because I know it is a long time until you can have another shot..

Cyn, the flowers are beautiful! Broni did us proud!

Julie, glad to see you back. I hope your life has settled down a little now.

Gail, hope you all had a good time tonight.

Alie couldn't eat because she was doing the 40 hour famine. She did so well, she didn't eat or use electricity or furniture. She slept on the floor for 2 nights!! I hope she gets lots of sponsors when she goes out asking.. She was too sick to go today - she has had tonsilitis for a few weeks, but this is different (she says) and I believe her because she also has a headache, runny nose and is coughing and sneezing..

Good for Alie. I remember doing the 40hr famine when I was about her age, it felt hard, but you only needed to think about those who have no choice and are doing it every day of their lives :(

Last night's dinner was a smashing success. There were two meat curries (though I stuffed up the chicken korma, but the meat tasted nice just the same, a vegetable curry and a dahl. Accompaniments were rice, roti breads, pappadams, yoghurt, cucumber, banana and coconut, mango chutney and lime pickles!

Hello, All! I've made it to page 186.

Rolanda, so sorry to hear that Peter's Great Aunt Jean passed away in Scotland. RIP, Gr. A. Jean! Condolences to the family! What a tough time with deaths on both sides!

I hope the Open House went well, Rolanda, and there was interest in your house!

Suzy, so glad you were able to express some of your thoughts to Dana and end on a positive note. Remember, we're here for you!

June, I'm glad the lobster lunch and opening of presents went well. I'm sure there are lots of pictures of Sharon that will be shared with Laura as the years progress. No doubt you're quite right that the card Sharon wrote for Laura will mean so much more in the coming years!

Broni, sounds like a great start to your boating day! So sorry your fortunes changed! I hope all will be will in the coming days and weeks!

Heidi, seems like Robert has more than his share of misfortune. Hopefully the motorcycle will be fully fixed next time! How is your back doing? Hopefully improved!

V Viv, I hope your back is showing improvement!

Welcome back from your holiday, Brenda! (BTW, you're right about laundry multiplying while on holiday. Happens to us, as well!)

MizT, I'm glad your kitchen was smelling delightful after baking blueberry muffins. How rude of the sun to shine directly into your eyes as you were trying to read.

Tami, hope all went well for the first week of school! Tomorrow (Aug. 22) is the first day back in our area, I believe. Last week was the start for my sister and niece in Iowa and new SIL in TX. Grandie will start Kindergarten in an eastern state after Labor Day (first Monday of September, I think).

Tami, I hope there weren't any more changes of teaching assignment. If I understand correctly, you have gone from being a math teacher to an assignment in science to social studies without seeing a student. I hope the year goes well for you! Is there any hope that you will get to return to math for next year?

Heidi, I was also unable to find information about the plane crash using the link - probably because too much time has elapsed since it happened! Cyber awards to Robert for being such a selfless person and going to the aid of the injured!

Suzy, I hope the performance you, hubby, and Alie went to was enjoyable! I hope Alie is feeling better. I don't suppose the 40-hour famine helped her. However, the antibiotics MIGHT if she would take them! I hope she is soon well!

Suzy, are you surprised by the news of the baby's father?

Gail, what a whirlwind of a visit!

Tami, I am sending you all kinds of thoughts and wishes! One week's notice to prepare for a new subject is not enough! Why couldn't they tell you during summer! I read another person's comment on FB that it had happened to one of their family members too. I don't believe there is an excess of math teachers so I don't understand it at all.

Meant to tell you all, only one of the three people I am having lunch with knows about Dana. I have suggested, and she agreed, that we don't tell the others until after lunch so we can talk about something other than my pregnant teenager!!
