Nola hope you find the perfect job, and without a lot of looking, too.

June, our children do take us for granted, don't they? I am sure you can handle the 45 year old, and Laura as a teen also.

Broni, how good of you to help your friend Teresa, Weddings can be stressful for all, and really, they are such short ceremonies to cause all that bother.

I must get to that room with all the appliances in it, and fling some food. I have no leftovers for my dinner tonight and I am glad! Sometimes I eat the same thing for far to many days in a row, unless I freeze half a casserole or entree.

that's all for now, hugs to each of you with extras.

Morning all,
One of the benefits of Wifi Rolanda. I may not get much of an allowance, but connecting to the internet takes as long as finding a power point.

Good luck with the move, hope everything goes smoothly. Throw tantrums if you have to - the squeaky wheel and all that. Someone posted a great photo of that the other day, wish I had it right now.

MizT, hubby took me out for dinner last night. Noice hubby. Dinner tonight will be drive through because we pick up Alie and have to be there early to see the concert. They pick out a few examples of what they have been doing and put on a show for the parents. Should be good.

Nola, I hope you find the perfect job quickly and the transition is smooth!

Rolanda, Good luck on the move and hope to see you online soon. Moving is not fun. My last move was 15 years ago, two weeks before Mitchell was born.

Heard from Suzanne. She is safely back on the ground in Utah and will call me in a day or so.

Good morning all - haven't been here in a few days, just been feeling blah for no good reason.
Nola - would be great to catch up next time you're in Brisbane. I missed meeting you when Ian fron Syd was up here because I was in WA. Hopefully next time will work out.
Ah teenagers - what a worry! Glad I'm past that but I do get concerned about Andrew's 3 girls and wonder how much involvement I will have with them when they are teens, it may be quite a bit. I know how you feel June, the prospect is horrifying, been there before, never want to revisit it.
Tami - Karin was diagnosed with scoliosis as a young teen. It was mild and has never caused her any problems up to now (at 39).
Take care everybody, love you all.

Good maEn everyone!
Home safe & sound from my parent's house. Had a VERY nice birthday & such.
HOWEVER, my cat Amber went to Rainbow Bridge on 10/9/2011. She had not been eating a lot before we left and passed away in her sleep. My petsitter Karen called & told me. I feel terrible that I wasn't here when she passed, but Karen took care of everything for us. What a SWEET lady!!!
We came home tonite and Tigger (the older cat) seems to be ok.
Have TONS of stuff to do in the next few days, will try to pop in.
Know I am sending lots of LOVE & HUGS to all of you. TTFN

For Suzanne and Amber:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I don't believe it; I was just about to save a long post, just as the computer decided it didn't want to stay turned on. Let's see what I can remember.

Of course, I started by saying hello and good afternoon or evening to everyone and hoping you have all had a great day so far!

Thank you to Judy and June for today's TOPPs/quotes of the day!

June, I'm so glad that you are June once again! You are far too busy to be 2 people, even though Suzy was being Suzy from her own computer. Must admit it took me a few minutes to get it all worked out.

Tami, I'm glad you'll be able to consult with your cousin/chiropractor as you keep an eye on Mitchell's back and neck! So sorry you had to deal with some homework that wasn't done.

Suzy, what great videos you posted! How did you find the time with the archaeological dig going on in Alie's room? I hope all of the missing items are found! Did you find any of the homework papers? Good luck keeping clean clothes and dirty clothes separated and in their correct places! What is it with teens? I'm so glad we lived through that portion of our lives!

MizT, your theory that you're still dealing with anesthesia after-effects sounds quite plausible. If you didn't need the sleep, you wouldn't be able to sleep so much. I hope you'll soon be feeling better and find more energy!

Heidi, I'm glad you didn't suffer a serious injury. I know I have balance issues (have been told we start losing our ability to maintain our physical balance before we hit 30). The aquatics director at our health club was wearing one of the silicone bracelets similar to a "PowerBalance" bracelet and said she felt better in balance, even if it was just "in her head." Even though I've read and heard reports that there is no evidence that they help, I've been wearing one for about 6 months and haven't lost my balance as often as in the past. (And I found them on Amazon for about $5, so included one with a book order.)

Viv, so sorry that you need to deal with similar behaviors from both father and son! Will be thinking of you the next few days and hope the doctor and any tests performed find a way to provide you some relief from your back pain!

June, I know you will rise to the occasion in the coming years with Laura. The advantage is that you have an on-going relationship with her and it won't be as if a teen is suddenly thrust into your life. I anticipate that you will have as much energy as you need when you need it! What a great grandma and role model you are for her!

Hurray for Broni, who got the 9600th comment and this page's TOPP!

Broni, good luck helping Teresa to maintain an even keel while wedding preparations are going on! (How's that for a sailing metaphor?) Is it a son or daughter getting married? How long until the wedding? All the best to her - and to you as you help her!

Ah, I see Broni is being poked on this page. Are you complaining of too much - or not enough - poking?

Mama, you have such a way with words, including your comments on motherhood! Thank you!

Nola, good luck with your resumes, applications, interviews, etc. Remember, the hard part was the last 2 years and all of the work and effort you put in. You will find the right job - or it will find you! (Here's hoping it will be sooner, rather than later!)

Oh, my, I missed both MizT and Tami in the appliance corral amidst their flinging. Hopefully MizT and Al and Tami, Mr. Tami and the Beasties were well fed!

Rolanda, good luck and we'll be sending positive thoughts the next few days, especially on moving day! I hope everything goes smoothly! We'll miss you while you are without internet! So glad your S#1 wasn't affected by the Qantas strikes!

Cyn, so glad to see you visit! It's understandable that you have the blahs periodically! We're glad to see you whether you have them or not! {{{HUGS}}}

Suzanne, I'm glad to hear that you have returned home safely! So sorry to hear that your cat Amber crossed the Rainbow Bridge while you were gone, but I'm sure that is better than if she had struggled to hang on until you were home. Your pet sitter must be great! (It's been 11 months since we lost our younger cat, who really was more kitten-like or even puppy-like throughout her life. We worried that the older cat would struggle adjusting to being the only cat, but she seems to be fine with it. Hopefully the same will be true for Tigger.

Suzy, I hope your prediction of WW3 at your house tonight isn't accurate, though your prediction that Alie will sleep all day tomorrow may be a blessing.

Hubby and I went to pick up the rental cello this afternoon. Since getting it home I understand why the teacher recommended that I find a 7/8 cello. That extra couple of inches would have made fingering very difficult. While a guitar has frets to help guide finger placement, a cello (also violin, viola and bass) doesn't, so I'll need to develop muscle memory to help locate notes. Both of my hands will have some adjusting to do - left needs to be able to stretch to finger the notes, right needs to be able to hold the bow. I also need to learn how to draw the bow straight across each string individually (in a different plane for each string) and eventually across 2 strings at the same time for double stops or chords. I'll have a new appreciation for what our Ds did so many years ago and what our grandies are doing now. (Five-year-old is taking violin lessons and 3-year-old has just started cello lessons.)

Thinking of all of you, even if I

Rolanda, I'm sorry to hear that your Mum's breathing problems haven't improved. (I must have missed your comment that she was having difficulties, though I knew she had a doctor appointment.) What a difficult time for this to be happening, though the move and her symptoms may be somewhat connected. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for her and for you! Remember, she's not doing this on her own; there is a hospital full of doctors and nurses who are there with her. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

It's funny that it's Broni you're poking when she was quoting Tami!! Poor bruised Broni..

Nola, I hope your computer is almost well and that we will get to see a little more of you soon. I was hoping that once your exams were finished you'd have a little more 'us' time, I was going to say 'me' time, but you might be getting that...

Julie, It sounds like you will have a lot of fun learning the cello, though it will steal time from us since there are only 24 hours in a day. I wish I could convince Alie to have guitar lessons. I suspect she is trying to save us money but she won't budge :( She has almost managed a bar chord but her hands are so small it's not easy for her.

Julie, you said it perfectly about Rolanda's mother. She is not alone! She may not be happy, but she's not alone.

Got to put the finishing touches on my beautiful as it is almost time to leave.

Catch you all later.

Suzanne - nice to see you back. Sorry about Amber though, always sad to lose a pet. Love the Rainbow Bridge.
Rolanda - hope your mother's health improves and what a bad time for this to happen. Keep on with the packing and let someone else handle it. She's in the right place to be cared for anyway. Remember - breathe, no stress, nearly there........

Alie is a real rock chick now!! At music camp they get to pick something other than their 'main' thing - and they encourage the kids to do something they wouldn't usually do - like drums, a different instrument, drama or performance bla bla. Alie auditioned for the rock band - they made 2 and she got in the advanced rock band!! (there was an intermediate one too). She sang Eye of a Stranger.. Here is the original one, I haven't uploaded her version yet.
