Afternoon all,
I'm trying to get some ffuts done today. Not really cleaning, more the kind of ffuts that actually makes a difference that people notice! Like me!!

Evening friends. Just popping in before bed. Had Thanksgiving dinner at in-laws - MIL did something that really ticked me off and I went for a walk rather than give her a piece of my mind. She can be so stubborn sometimes.

Yes Suzy, Thanksgiving is as big a deal here as it is in the U.S., although in the U.S. it is more closely tied to the Christmas season. We generally have turkey and all the trimmings.

Hope to be back tomorrow. I need some sleep. Take care everyone!!

Zusy, I 'like' you!
Theresa, so know where you are coming from...
sure I have posted this before...
There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create
it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living.

I'd get a lot more done if I sat less. Na...

Broni, I like that! Unfortunately the people who create the crisis in my life are family (some I have discarded but the rest I'm stuck with).
Suzy, enjoy the sitting down - you deserve to take some time out for yourself. You are always so busy.
Theresa, happy Thanksgiving. I've walked out on my MIL before today - sometimes I just steer clear of answering the phone if I think it's her. I need to vent about her regularly so hubby cops it - if he's not complaining about her!
She's getting worse and I think a move to a nursing home will probably happen in the next 12-18 months.
At the moment she is suffering from indigestion. She wanted us to call an ambulance on Friday and have her taken to the hospital. I had to get her suitcase down in case she needed to go (it's always packed for just these emergencies). She is still feeling unwell so was going to the doctors today.
Where's Karen's bang your head on the desk smilie, because that's what I feel like doing at the moment.

Rolanda, I'm sorry to hear you are having an awful week just before you move. Wasn't anyone else available (sister or nieces) to look after your Mum this week? That would have taken some of the pressure off.

Hi everyone! I should have said that first.
I read and then when I go to comment I've forgotten everything.
#2 son is finally back at work today - it's been 3 weeks since he cut his arm. He had 10 stiches in all. The cut near his wrist only had 3 stitches but it is causing the most problems. He needs to keep massaging it to stop the scar tissue building up and affecting the tendons.

unfortunately Victoria.. my sister does not drive, my nieces both have littlies, and my brother and SIL are OS..
My Mum at the moment is not well, the other day she asked what # to ring for the Ambulance.. 000.. then I said you could always push the panic button around your neck..
I think she should be in care, which is not going to happen anytime soon ....

That's pretty much what I said to hubby the other night about his mother. We have talked (jokingly) about moving to China - it it's good enough for his oldest sister it's good enough for us.
Alternatively we've talked about moving to WA. Thats as far as we can move on the mainland. Hubby could get a job driving trains for the mines. He told me he could work FIFO but I told him he is not leaving me behind to hold the fort.
If he goes then I go!

Hello, All! I'm running later than I thought tonight. Must be because of a meeting. We have another tomorrow night. With luck, the cello will be ready and I'll be able to pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

MizT, I hope Al's headache has left him and hope your doctor appointment today went well!

Tami, I hope the pep rally went well and your friend's presentation was a success! So glad you could leave school early today! (Was it because of your friend?)

Suzy, what a tough day for you! Seems she still needs a lot of growing up, but that's mighty hard on you. Brenda seems to have a handle on the type of situation because of R's youngest step-D. So sorry you both have to deal with that kind of situation.

Rolanda, I hope all goes well this week. Thank goodness you are so organized, as your plate seems very full! Should we have a show of hands of those who have hubby's who would be helpful during packing and preparation for a move? My hand isn't raised. Hopefully the rest of the week proceeds with no hitches!

Mama, so sorry the weather changes are causing difficulties, but so glad you have Skype and are learning how to use it! Have fun!

Mama, I enjoyed both of your "TOPPs"!

Suzy, I hope the rest of the day has been productive for you!

Theresa, I think your walking off steam was a good plan! Letting your MIL know you were upset probably wouldn't have changed the situation. Thinking of you! {{{HUGS}}}

Broni, what excellent advice for life! Thanks!

Suzy, the sitting part is just as important as the ffuts!

Vicki, so sorry to hear that your MIL also causes frustrated feelings! I'm convinced that for some, their personalities change or become more pronounced as they age.

My MIL seemed extremely tuned in to how she "felt" - would call a cab to take her to the emergency room when hubby was still working and wasn't able to drive the hour to get her, then another 20-30 minutes to take her to the hospital. That escalated to her calling an ambulance. We finally sat her down and explained that SHE would be the one to pay for the ambulance; it wasn't free. (Luckily, she was a penny pincher and realized there were better ways to spend her money.) All this was while she was in assisted living. It helped when they insisted she be moved to a floor with nurses aides, as they could convince her to wait a bit and see if she felt better.

Vicki, I'm glad your son was able to return to work, but sorry the arm is still bothering him. It's really important for him to do the massaging to prevent the build-up of scar tissue, so I hope he doesn't tire of it or think it is time wasted.

Rolanda and Vicki, thinking of both of you as you deal with aging parents! It's not fun, but feel free to vent, as we understand!

Nearly 1:30 here, so I really need to get my butt off this chair and head to bed. , positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and prayers for all in need and family and friends! Good Night!

Son is home though but stuck to his pooter as usual.
His court case is Monday next week.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Sorry I didn't get back last night but had a busy day. Pep rally went well. Friend is actually friend of hubby. He is a sportswriter for the local paper and covers high school sports. He came to help motivate the kids to read. After that I had a few errands and then had to take Mitchell to the doctor. He has been having a problem with his neck but pediatrician could find nothing. Wanted an xray to see. Call his orthopedic who needed to check his back, he has a mild case of scoliosis. Ortho agreed to take neck xray also and save me visit/money. Back is fine, no changes in a year. Will do a yearly check until full grown. Neck is fine, may just be a muscle spasm. Keep on eye on Mitchell and look for certain signs. He was having a "nervous tick" in his neck. Started after he slept funny and had a crick in his neck. Was told that could cause muscle spasms and it takes time to stop.

That would be a worry Tami. I'm glad that the ortho did the xray so you didn't have to wait... Alie's bf has just been diagnosed with scoliosis, no mention of the degree...

Hello everybody.
Tami.... you might want to consider a chiropractor for Mitchell. They work wonders when regular doctors just want to "keep an eye on the problem".
I haven't heard from the Grass-hoppers yet. They're due here later today or tomorrow.

I had steak, onion rings, mushrooms and three times fried chips. Why three times fried I have no idea and some of them were the size of a brick (well not quite a brick but they were big) We were very good and only had the one course.

I signed you out Suzie. Prefer to be myself. Just wish I could log into Sharon's page. She gave me her password so I could go and remove her birthday etc but I might have to wait and do it on her computer. I have been under the weather the last couple of days but feel much better today. Just wish I could get my computer to start up as I am expecting some Emails and as the computers are linked we only seem to be able to get into Ken's mail from any other computer.
Everything is supposed to be on backed up so I do hope it is. It is ages since Sharon checked the back up was working.
