Suzy I'm pleased hubby stuck up for you. Sometimes it is a pleasure when they are away but we always miss them, then when they get back we wonder why we missed them
Rolanda hope your mother is ok, just what you needed right now!
I've had a busy day today. Had my hair cut, did the weekly shopping and did the gninori too. Now I am going to sit with my feet up and do some knitting before having to fling food.

I should watch the numbers before I post.

Never regret. If it’s good, it’s wonderful. If it’s bad, it’s experience.

Hello all - been missing for a few days - life can get overwhelming and hectic at times.

D and her hubby both at work today - her MIL is at their place. Plumber there today to fix bathroom sink - they need to get into our basement from time-to-time as some of the pipes and wiring are here. Turns out it's a much bigger problem than they thiught - rewiring will be needed as well as new pipes. They have currently gone for lunch and will be back. So I am stuck at home - they keep leaving doors open or ajar - what part of "I don't want the cats to go to the basement" don't they understand??? Our basement is not finished and there is a crawl space there - don't need to try and get the cats outta there!!!!

Hello.
I'm tired. We just reset shoes on 3 horses, and trimmed the others. My back hurts.
It's been raining on and off for the past 8 hours. We really needed it.

Not as much, Heidi, and the time-frame won't be as long. For the first week or so I believe her hubby is taking time off. Again it's a matter of no government agency or her employer paying her any benefits whatsoever. That's where a big part of the problem is - they can't afford to live just on her hubby's salary. Why couldn't I have been born rich instead of beautiful????

Yesterday I got my first senior's discount. We stopped at a fast food restaurant where anyone 55 and over is considered a senior. Yesterday we took MIL on her yearly autumn drive to see all the colours.

I am just a piece of tin

I'm a Ford, yes, I'm a Ford.

Hi all. Just a quick stop in here before going to Dylan's baseball game. Conference went well this morning. All teachers like him and think he is smart, just needs to do his homework. Same old story.

Rolanda, sorry about your mum. Hope she is feeling better soon.. Hope your move is successful.

Don't remember what else I read. See you all in the morning.

Morning all,
All is quiet here. Hubby is at work and Alie is asleep. Hopefully she'll be in a better mood when she wakes up. She was great when she first got in the car, talkative and telling us all about camp, suddenly on the lounge she went all cranky. We asked what was wrong - I thought she'd discovered the movies I put up, even though I hid them from her. Nothing. Grump, grumble. Then she started complaining at me about photos on facebook again. I said I thought I got them all (she thought I meant remove, I actually meant hid them from her) - hey, it's my facebook page! But she meant the ones other people had put up and tagged me in. She went on and on for a bit then Hubby told her off - you need to either stop attacking your mother or go to bed. Made my year!

Tami, that actually sounds like a good report from the teachers' conference. Good luck getting him to do future homework.. I have that struggle ahead of me too.

This is a horrible time to not be able to reach Rolanda. I hope the move is going well and that mum's hospital stay is going smoothly.

Hello, Everyone! Can't stay around, as it's almost 11 p.m. Hubby is getting up at 3:45 to get ready to leave the house at 4:30 to drive 1.5 hours to an airport on time for a 7:15 flight. I'll set my alarm for 4 to be sure he gets up. Then back to bed after he leaves until 6, when I need to get up and get ready for a 7:15 blood and platelet donation. Sure wish I could sleep through the 2+ hours that takes! Oh, well. I'll need a nana nap tomorrow!

{{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, positive thoughts and for all who can use them! Good Night!

Greetings friends. Boy the day flies by when you take a 3 + hour nap! That after my eye exam. I will have the new glasses in about a week. Not hard on the check book this time, well, it will not be, new insurance pays a big part. I just had to pay up front and insurance will reimburse. NOT the usual way it works, and i was not told about this till after the exam, so what to do but write the check???

A;'s brother was down for a visit today. He had to see a doc at 8 am in Birmingham, better than half way here from his house, so combined trips ( love this economy that makes such necessary) and came on down. He trimmed Al's beard and mustache while here. That was a big improvement! Just sitting up in the chair while he did the trim tired Al considerably. He just has no energy to spare now.

Rolanda, so sorry your Mom is in hospital now, but it seems where she needs to be. It is a shame that none of the other family members could go check on her. they all do seem to depend on you.

Suzanne, since you had never read the entire Rainbow Bridge story, I am doubly glad I posted it for you.

Suzy, what Gail said, what was Alie's reaction to the clean room?

Julie, hope you get your nana nap tomorrow, sounds like you will need it!

Tami, good luck keeping Mitchel doing his homework. My sister had problems with her gifted children getting theirs done, seems to be a common problem. Their argument was, I can never do homework and still make A's on tests, why do I need it? Could almost agree with them, you know?

Heidi, we had some of your rain today also. I was in Wal Mart, and heard the rain, it was that hard a down pour. I spent over $100 today, and only $30 of it was for me. The rest was on Al's tube feeding stuff. I did fund a new purse for me. My old one is de-laminating, the "leather" is rubbing off. I was surprised I found one with almost all the features I wanted first try. I am picky in my old age, function before fashion for me.

Anyone as tired as I am at the new use of the suffix, "ality", that is added to perfectly good words, unnecessarily? Typing function above brought it to mind, I hear "functionality" used when function is adequate for conveying meaning. Are you down under hearing that also? Cannot think of another word it is added to at the moment, but it is on commercials, it is on the news and talk shows and I am beyond tired of it!! Now, someone want to help me down from this soap box hehehe???

OK, going to bed, perhaps I can get to sleep this time. My long nap today has left me wide awake tonight. Hugs to each of you, with extras aplenty. Till tomorrow.

Gail and MizT, no war, but no thank you either... I guess I should be thankful for small mercies.

MizT, a busy day. I hope you get some sleep tonight. I am now fussy about purses and handbags too - they have to have enough pockets and slots for my bits and bobs, be big enough to hold everything I want to carry but not so big I can't find anything etc etc...

I've recently downsized in handbags. The one I was using was big enough to carry my netbook and everything else I wanted. I didn't carry the netbook that often but what normally happened was everyone else would give me stuff to carry for them. My handbag used to be HEAVY. I now have one which I can put my purse, phone, drivers licence and one or two other things necessary things into it with no room for the 'can you put this in your bag' stuff.

Hi all.
Brenda..enjoy your time knitting with your feet up.A busy day sure makes you feel tired.
Theresa...Hope kitties didn't get out during all the plumbing work. Also, that you manage to get lots done before D's surgery. It will probably be a difficult time for you, trying to manage 2 households.
Heidi...Rain is always so lovely when you desperately need it.
Julie...sleep well.
MizT...New glasses ah! Sorry Al found the beard trim so tiring.Nice that his brother called in and spent some time with Al and yourself.
Rolanda..thinking of you and your Mum and hoping you are coping with all that is going on during the move etc.
Suzy..I know wont buy a black bag as I found it too hard to find things in it. Always have to drag everything out and usually the thing I wanted was the last thing found.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

It is Friday and I am more than thankful. I got a new schedule this week. I was moved to 7th grade. New students, new work. Not that I am complaining. The class I am now teaching is geography and the students are doing all their work online. The online teacher grades it and reports the grades back to me. All I have to do is maintain discipline and solve pooter problems. I have all the teachers at school mad at me as I have the easiest job of the year

Tricia, glad Al had a nice time with his brother. I know he can tire easy. Hope things are getting better. Also glad you found a handbag you like quickly. It usually takes me a long time.

Suzy, glad the fireworks were not too bad. The boys clean their own rooms, with a little help. I tell them if I have to clean it, I am doing it with a trash bag.

Don't remember much else. Wishing everyone a great day/night wherever you are.

Nola, I laughed when I read your post because I always buy bright coloured accessories for the same reason!

Tami, she was supposed to clean her room, I'm not allowed in. Not much she could do to keep me out while she was away though.

Broni, glad to hear the mother of the bride is feeling better. I got my mother to give me away too, she didn't want to as she likes to fade into the background but I talked her into it.

Morning all.

I got the grandies ready for school this morning because D had to leave by 8:00 AM for some lab work at the hospital prior to her surgery next week. The oldest grandie said something to me at the bus stop that almost knocked me to the ground, but certainly made my day. I told her today is Friday and then she gets to stay home for two days. She said to me: "I know, and I'm not too happy about that. I'd rather be at school." This is her fifth year at school and she's finally liking it. YAHOOOOO. Sorry for shouting.

If you can start the day without caffeine,
If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

... Then You Are Probably ...

Morning friends, not the best night, up and down with AL several times. Got him settled at last, he is sleeping, but now I can't sleep. It is daytime and my internal clock says "get up".

Tami, thanks for the coffee, that first cup is always the best. Glad you are happy with your new schedule. Won't you get bored? Way back when I was in high school, 1956-60, somewhere in there, I was part of an experiment with teaching students science via TV. My teacher taught the TV class, then she taught 2 classes "live" at my school. I was in the live class. Students were tested before and after the year, to see how much they learned, and the TV students compared to the live, in person students. The scores were nearly equal, and teaching via the educational channel TV came into being. Some top notch teachers could be shared with poorer, remote locations who could not afford or attract the best science, math, teachers. OH, a benefit for us in her class, we did not have to buy the book, it was furnished. All other classes, high school students had to purchase their own books.

Teresa, so funny, so true about the family dog, I got a chuckle from that one. Chuckles are a nice way to start the day.

Broni, happy the mother of the bride is settling down now. Only a week to go, you should make it, both of you!

I wish we could hear from Rolanda and her Mum. thinking of both of them today.

Brenda, good for you downsizing handbag size. We do have to take care of ourselves as we get older.

Things need doing today, I should get to it. I think I will wash the crock pot (made chili soup for lunch for everyone yesterday) and start some apple butter. It is cool today, the extra heat in the kitchen would be welcome, and the smell of it would be yummy.

catch you later, sending hugs to each of you with extras.

Good Afternoon All.
Another gray day here....we have had so much rain I'm sick of it. Setember was the rainiest ever, and we had maybe 6 spectacukarly beautiful days prior to this, and it has been fairly mild, so I guess I really can't complain too much...but the changing weather tends to bring on the head and body aches as well as my grumps...lol.
Adding wishes for a full and speedy recovery for Rolands's Mum...and wishing the timing had been different for Rolanda, but trust all is well.

I've had a great time visiting with Brenda and June via Skype...as well as some family...it is really cool. Looking forward to enjoying other visits along the way. Perhaps you will get yours up and running again Miz T...but right now is not the time to try what with Al needing your help so much and of course your own health problems...hope both of you will be feeling better soon.♥
It seems bright kids do have a problem with homework...I recall my daughter being so dissatified with her homework, and didn't hand it in often because she said it didn't reflect her points well enough to suit her...I would tell her it was the teacher's job to see if she was able to demonstrate her knowledge regarding the points well enough to show that she had learned what was being taught, not to be perfect..she would say she demonstrated her knowledge in class....sigh!
Good luck and lots of patience to you parents...glad I am no longer the primary teacher in any child's life...don't mind adding, but the full responsibility part is over.♥

Suzanne, sorry about your loss, but glad you found comfort in the Rainbow Bridge poem.. I know I've always found it comforting.

To those un-named in this or any of my post, know that my messagees of peace, love and joy always includes everyone...my poor brain would burst if I could remember all that I'd like to, but my feelings for each are easy to share.and share I do. Have a great day/night.Mine will be busy and fun, I'm babysitting Angelique this afternoon for a few hours, but will have her for a long week-end at the end of the month.... More later...Peace!

My weather forecast:

A cold front will move eastward across Southern Ontario this afternoon preceded by scattered thunderstorms. A few of these storms will have the potential to produce damaging winds, hail, torrential downpours, and frequent lightning.

I keep getting weather updates:

Strong winds with gusts ranging from 60 km/hr to 80 km/hr are expected to begin early Saturday. These winds will make driving conditions difficult and there will be an increased potential for scattered power outages.
