We got some nice news yesterday. Sharon had always had her name listed for organ donation but because of the cancer the only thing they could use were the corneas. They were used for a 67 year old man and 65 year old woman. Nice to know there are a couple of people with reduced eye problems.

I have done three loads of washing and slowly getting organised to leave tomorrow. Why must I decide everything must be done before we go away when it has not been done for months!!!
We will leave here about 7.30am for flight at 11am. Have not been able to pre-book our seats so will probably be stuck in the middle of the plane!(We have Qantas tickets but it is co-share Vietnam airways). Ken's silver Qantas frequent flyer generally gets us the seats WE want. Go to Cambodia Friday and home on 28 Oct.
We will have the notebook so I will be in touch with SA.

Julie, apparently some history book authors are running a series of lectures, in the lead up to final exams for high school. Next Friday, my last child's official schooling finishes, all that will be left are her final examinations, and then that is it...I will no longer be a school Mum!
She is hoping to enrol in a TAFE course, giving her a taste of all things arty, will the viewto going onto uni...to do something even more arty!

Afternoon all,
Gail, I wouldn't be sitting outside in the car waiting for her, I'd be sitting in one of the cafes with a cappuccino and a book! I spent a lot of math tutorials with friends and a cappuccino back in the day...

Julie, no I'm not ready for a rock band! 11 seems like a relatively early night for you. I hope you didn't go and do a whole bunch of chores when you left here.

MizT, your lights sound lovely and cheery for dark autumn/winter nights. I don't like it when daylight savings ends here. It feels like I lose half the day! How worrying that Al isn't 'eating' properly.

Tami, I hope your boys do a better job of cleaning their rooms than my girls do.

Our day was fun. We had the Austar carnival in town today. I think half of town went! Something different and free... I checked it all out then went and had coffee with a friend. Unfortunately I missed the silent disco - I figured I might look just a tiny bit creepy checking out the younguns. It would have been so funny though.

I am exhausted and about to give my hubby away. "I will just pop down the bowling club because someone is down there by themselves and needs a hand"!!!Then comes home and reads the paper and watches tele. I do not need a hand moving pots out of the sun so they do not dry out, watering the garden and all the hundred and one jobs that need doing when we will be away for a couple of weeks!!!! I still need to clean the kitchen and pack my bag.

Yes June, I agree with Suzy, so pleased Sharon was able to give hope to two people ♥
My mother always wanted her organs to be donated, but when her time came, her organs were shutting down so it was not possible :(
She always said her kidneys were for Scott, my hubby. I always thought that was so sweet.

Evening all. Sorry I didn't bring the coffee this morning but I left early. Hubby had an early game and we all went to watch. His team got killed, he did not play. One of his teammates was in an accident in the park. He was withing 50 yards of parking when a city truck hit him. He was taken to the hospital but not breaks, just a strained neck. His car is not in good shape. The city employee admitted he did not see the him.

lol Gail. That would have explained what she was having though...

Tami, Hope your hubby's teammate is doing okay. Strains can be very painful. I hope the city employee admitted that to police and not just eye witnesses.

We haven't heard from June this morning which must mean she made it to her plane and is one the way! Wishing you a wonderfully relaxing trip June.. I hope it feels long enough and you don't get home wishing you were still there..

Funny vid. Thanks CynB.

Timmy is a silly dog. We've discovered that he's afraid of squeaky toys. I got the dogs a squeaky hedgehog recently. The first time Timmy heard it squeak, he ran and hid. Now he hides if one of us picks it up. I have no idea what could have caused him to be afraid of something so innocuous.

Still have the Lurgy. The head is congested and the throat hurts like crazy still. If I hadn't had my tonsils out at 10 years old, I'd think that was the problem. I'm going to cancel my dental cleaning tomorrow. I don't want to give this to them.

Good Night friends. Not sure why I am sleepy early, I slept a long nap in my chair. Hubby was asleep when I dozed off, and when he woke, found a quite computer game to entertain himself, and let me sleep. Nice Hubby!

Catch you all tomorrow, leaving hugs for each of you with extras.

Good Evening/Night, Everyone!

What a great TOPP, June, and excellent advice! I hope you're able to follow that advice on your holiday!

June, thank you for letting us know about Sharon's gifts! What a thoughtful and giving person she was - much like her mother! I hope the recipients have many years of improved vision as a result!

I hope your seats weren't in the middle of the plane, June! Enjoy your holiday, even if the temperatures and humidity are high! We'll send some cooler air and breezes to you.

Gail, I hope the lectures are an excellent lead-in/preparation for the final exams and help refresh her memory! Will she continue to live at home while taking the TAFE course! We hope you will continue to update us as she explores the arts! (Will that primarily be visual arts, as painting, drawing, etc.? Is she interested in 2D or 3D, like sculpture or pottery?)

Suzy, the carnival sounds like fun! What is a silent disco? Do everyone just randomly dance without any music?

June, I hope you were able to get everything done that needed to be done! Sounds much like my hubby - things just magically get done and off we go! When our children were in high school and went to summer music camp, I'd try to do everything - no dirty dishes, clothes, etc. left - and often just stayed up all night getting everything packed and ready to go. In his defense, he did all the driving for the day and a half and I slept much of the time we were in the car. (I can't drive for more than about 20 minutes without falling asleep.) Anyway, we hope everything that needed to be done was done and you are safely away! Have a wonderful holiday!

Gail, how thoughtful of your Mum to want to donate her kidneys to Scott! I hope the time will soon come when a kidney becomes available for him!

Heidi, I hope you will soon be feeling better! It's a good plan for both your health and those in the dentist's office to postpone your cleaning! Do any of the other dogs react to a squeaky toy like Timmy does? Don't you wonder what must have happened that he developed that habit/fear?

Broni, the wedding count-down has begun for Theresa's daughter! I hope everything goes smoothly and as planned!

Tami, thinking of your hubby's teammate and hoping his sprained neck is soon improved! How awful to have to play a game as the teammate is being taken to the hospital!

MizT, I hope you and Al had a good and restful day today!

Hi everyone!
Get well Heidi!
Bon voyage June!
Relax Rolanda! Hugs to you and best wishes to your Mum.
Suzy.. Teenagers!! I could be horrible when I was a teenager - slamming doors was my way of showing the world I wasn't happy.
Brenda, my oldest doesn't like to part with his money unless it's on things he wants. Getting board money from him is like getting blood from a stone (but I persevere). The youngest is different as he has organised a weekly direct debit and it automatically goes from his bank account to mine.
Broni, good on you helping keep Theresa calm in preparation for the wedding. I hope the weather is nice for the day.
Theresa (Canada)- thinking of you as you get ready to help your daughter again. This time shouldn't be as bad. From watching MIL in the hospital they had both the hip and knee replacements up and walking the next day. Good news that your oldest Grandie finally likes school.

Hi everyone.
Ethan had his court case today for the driving in a manner dangerous to the public.
This has been going on since last February.
I did not go with him as he has been a right little **** to me lately.
Hubby had the day off work and went.
The verdict was a fine of $400 and licence disqualification for a year.
Starting from today.
In my eyes I see nothing wrong with this sentence.
He needs to learn a lesson.
But apparently this is not the view of others around me.
Now he has to wait and see if he can keep his job with the council.
I have told him I am not driving him anywhere.

Hi Viv, I don't think your son got off too badly with a $400 fine and disqualification for a year. Though I do hope he keeps his job, it would be very hard on you if he lost his job as he would be around at home more.

Good morning all, the weather here has cooled off and we have already had our first frost of the autumn. I've had to put our heating on, but only on low for the moment. When the sun shines it is still very pleasant but as soon as the sun goes in it gets chilly.
I have missed June but hope that she has a good trip with Ken and gets to relax and have some 'me' time.

It is another Monday here and I hate Mondays.
Sorry I missed June before she left but hoping she has a wonderful trip. She deserves it.
I don't see Rolanda back yet but she did poke me on the other site
Hubby's team mate sent us an email last night saying he was home and nothing too serious.

GOOD for you, Viv. He acts like a right **** to you, and he gets what he deserves. I'm glad that you put your foot down about driving him. He got the punishment he deserves from the law as well. Driving is a privilege, not a right. And nobody wants to be on the road with a dangerous driver around. Tell the little **** that there are such things as bicycles, that don't require driver's licenses. I don't know about your area, but most places here have public transportation, too.
"You do the crime, you do the time!"
