We do have company from Sydney coming for the feast tomorrow.

That video brought back a flash of deja vu. If that had been my mother, I would have been beaten within an inch of my life at the first sight of flour on the floor. Even if it had been my brother who did it. I was always punished for everything he did.

Heidi, that 13lb bird, if I could find one, would cost me $123 here. I'd join you if I could. I hope you have a very nice lunch with the Sydney people.

I was thinking while watching the video that I could have had it half cleaned up while she was still saying 'It's not fair, I'm going to be sick'
Sorry it brought back bad memories for you Heidi.

Since Heidi shared her menu I might as well share mine. Turkey, honey-glazed ham, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, corn, peas, dinner rolls, apple pie and chocolate pie.

My family does not like pumpkin pie.

Suzy - I was thinking the same! Put down the camera, get out the vacuum cleaner and just do it - half an hour and you would hardly know it had happened.
How did the kids get to the flour anyway?? Anyway, they had fun!

That video has been all over the news here. She says that she just went to the bathroom for a minute and when she came out, that is what her house looked like. We were wondering the same things. How did they do that much in just a minute. Hubby thinks she did it her self to get the 15 minutes of fame on you tube.

Hi All,
Have read, Have remembered each of you,Am really happy to see Theresa, Nola and MizT back where we want them to be, am sorry for the bad news that was shared and look forward to the joy that is sure to follow...feel so happy that you are coming around to feeling the realization that the baby's birth will make you a doting grand mom like the rest of us, Suzy.
I'm thankful on this day before Thanksgiving day to be able to count you all as friends, who recognize that as sad a year as this has been for many of us and others, that when a door closes, another is opened...and we are so very blessed. Since we are thankful and full of reflection at this time of year ,topside, I am thankful to be able to share thoughts, hopes and dreams with you across the pond and down under....it is only through exchanges such as we enjoy, that the world shrinks, and we can see clearly how we have more in common than we have differences...that bodes well for the future that we wish our young to have....
I have no idea where these thoughts are going...am simply sharing things that are on my mind and in my heart with no fixed plan ....I guess I'm tired...I do tend to ramble when I am, and so I will stop for now....
Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating. and Peace be yours where ever you find yourselves tomorrow....and to the rest...love, hugs and all good vibes....Peace.

Mamacita, I don't mind you rambling. I sometimes think people choose their words too carefully and what is really meant does not get said.

I also want to wish all my friends, topside and down under, a very happy thanksgiving. I am truly thankful for all the wonderful friendships I have made on this site.

Back to the video - the flour was sprinkled so tidily everywhere wasn't it? Kids would have spilt it on the ground and then spread it from there, as they could be seen doing.
One other thing - so handy to have the video on the spot and film every section of the room. Pullleeze!

Another thing to be thankful for is the way Mama can put into words our feelings.

Tami, the blurb said she was feeling sick so was longer in the bathroom than usual/she expected to be... but still, they did too good a job for 1 and 3.

Cyn, my video would be handy, the camera and phone with video capability are always handy. The problem is remembering to use them.

I just had to pick up Alie from school because she was feeling sick. Wouldn't have been a problem if I didn't have all the presents I've already bought for Xmas laid out on my bed with half of them wrapped when the school called. Thank goodness they're not getting much this year or I might never have gotten them hidden again.

I noticed that at no point did the mother tell the boys to stop it, or tell them that they were doing something they were not supposed to be doing. The kids kept on playing with the flour while she stood there filming it and them. Too fake.

Greetings, All! I only have a few minutes, so will try to read and comment a bit (page 274).

Suzy, what a great idea to bring out an extra chair with the holidays approaching!

How nice to see your posts, Nola! You certainly have had plenty to keep you busy! What a great way to look at Suzy's problems with Dana - that once Dana has her own little one and experiences a mother's love, she'll understand how much she herself has been loved!

June, it sounds like you enjoyed good company on your Harbor Cruise, even if the weather was not particularly cooperative! So sorry to hear about the foal's injury! I hope it is nothing serious and doesn't require expensive interventions! Thinking of you, Ken, and Belinda and crossing fingers for the foal!

Nola, what a shame that your job is less than ideal! Thinking of you and sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}. You will need to evaluate how much stress you are willing to deal with - not fun, especially at this time of year! What absolutely WONDERFUL news about Judy! Hoping all goes well with Greg's MRI and he gets a clean bill of health! Take care of yourself, Sweetie! We think of you and hope there will be some improvement! You have worked so hard!

Suzy, thinking of you and all you are dealing with! I know these next weeks leading up to the big C word are going to be very busy!

Theresa, I hope your D and SIL received good news on their dog Dakota, and not a big bill from the vet! Take care, and I hope your shoulder is showing some improvement!

Theresa, so sorry to hear about your MIL's difficulties! I hope the pacemaker does the trick! My MIL had one for probably at least 20 years - never had another episode. If her heart stopped for a bit, it's no wonder that she is disoriented and confused!

Theresa, I hope your D and SIL find that there is nothing seriously wrong with Dakota! (I'm glad your SIL cleaned up all of the "evidence!" Were your grandies bothered by seeing the blood? I hope the snow and freezing rain don't last for you!

Brenda, thinking of Susan and her daughter Megan - and her 18 month old daughter! I hope nothing serious is found and a good outcome is in order! Sending positive vibes, prayers and {{{{HUGS}}}}!

Unfortunately, we have all experienced our share of the downs of life this year! Suzy, thank you for starting the reminders of some of the ups! In retrospect, nearly every year has had its share of ups and downs. I suppose the best thing to do is to find a way that the downs have produced an up of some sort - even if it's just realizing what wonderful family and friends we have to help shoulder the burden.

I need to run for now. I may be back later - or it might be too late.

Suzy, tomorrow (our Nov. 24) is Thanksgiving, which always falls on a Thursday, not a fixed date.

It's Thursday here so it's turkey day here - only I don't have a turkey so it's tacos for dinner.

Poor Alie, at least this is the last year she will be this busy. I think. The people who usually arrange carols aren't doing them next year and we will probably lose contact with that dance studio so there's 4 things out. There's 2 more with the people who arranged the talent quest. I'm trying to add them up, there's also her dance school thing.. That's 7 isn't it??

Morning all. Coffee is ready, a bigger pot than usually. I think I am going to need an extra cup or three today. Trying to decide the best order/time to start cooking. I have cooked for turkey day before but I usually go to my SIL's. She decided to go to New York and hang out with her son and DIL. She gets to watch the Macy's parade in person.

I forget to mention, and I can't mention on FB, my nephew called from NY last night and gave us another reason to be thankful. I will become a great-aunt next May.

Hi all. As Cyn said, Amelia has the flu so there was only Victoria, Kevin and myself. We still had a nice chin wag though. I then came home and did the food shopping as I will be out to lunch with some other ex work mates tomorrow. (different job to last Sunday's friends)
They could not find out the problem with Belinda's foal. Have put it on antibiotics. Said they could try an operation but it would cost $4,000 so she said no as there was no certainty it would fix the problem or that he would be OK later.
Sorry no comments as I have to clean out a lot of things from the computer as it is too full and very slow.

Just heard from Susan and it isn't good news at all. Diagnosis is neuro-endocrinen tumour of the liver. They don't know how bad yet but it doesn't sound too good. They have let Megan go home for Thanksgiving, but she is in so much pain she cannot pick her little girl up.
Please for those on FB nothing is being said on there as we have friends in common (with Megan/ Susan and Family) and they don't want it to be common knowledge yet.

Morning all,
Brenda, I am sending sudoku vibes that it is the benign kind. Do they know yet?

June, bugger! I hope the antibiotics work. $4000 is a lot of money for exploratory surgery, I would have made the same decision.

Tami, good luck with thanksgiving dinner. I will have some of your yummy coffee thank you!

I have been listening to music on my computer so of course some of it has been Alie. She's not bad.
