Here's a toast to the Memory of Sully.
I have neuralgia in the left side of my head. Feels a bit better so far this morning. I have committed to play in a bowls competition today so cannot let my partner down. No fun at the computer so will not be here much till it has gone!

We're back to square one with the killer dogs. IH has decided, firmly, that I have to shoot them. Now. Oh well.

Heidi, I am not trying to ridicule you, just explain. As I said on the other site, the kids of today are digital natives. They were born, and grew up with, technology. You and I are digital immigrants. We came to technology later in life and have to learn it, just like a second language. It is not always easy. You have knowledge in different areas and I enjoy learning from you.

As for IH, hand him the gun.

He has to restrain the dogs. They know him, and they each weigh between 125 and 150 lbs.

He was supposed to tie one lead to a fence and hold the other lead from 6 feet away. Instead, he tied the dogs to the fence and went and hid. They've been put down quickly and painlessly.

Heidi, I knew you would do it as humanely as possible. I also knew that IH would end up being a chicken. You have a good soul and would never intentionally harm an animal. You will also do what is necessary to protect the innocent animals. I don't know if I could do what you did. You are an inspiration to me.

Hi, Everyone! Just taking a few minutes to pop in. Yes, I know it's very early for me.

Hoping our birthday friends have had extended time with family and friends to enjoy their special day!

Cyn, how fun that Karin taught her kids an appropriate song! That will be appropriate later this year for me, but I don't think I'll be serenaded. (Grandies are currently 6, 3.5 and 1.75 and all sing well, but mostly children's songs.)

Mama, raising a glass to Sully, who has been and continues to be a very special part of your life! Enjoy your memories!

Gail, what a shame that the house and its contents are gone! Good for the neighbors who are already gathering items to help the young family! I hope they have somewhere to go. The good news is that no one was home or injured in the fire!

Congrats to Hannah on the TAFE placement!

Suzy, how nice the men's shed are willing to help and offer Alie advice for getting her music copyrighted!

Wow, I guess I live a sheltered life! I've never heard Walmart referred to as Wally World and only knew the reference to the "theme park" in the movie.

MizT, I hope you're feeling a bit better today than yesterday, and it continues each day! Some uninterrupted sleep would be appreciated, I'm sure! Don't worry about getting on a soapbox! We're glad to see you there, and most of us have been known to climb up occasionally ourselves! We even encourage sitting on a soapbox - or just leaning against it and sharing thoughts!

Judy, good for your daughter pursuing a "mature age" education!

Judy, the important thing is that you are doing right by your Mum, whether she gets grumpy or forgets later! You can live with yourself, knowing you did the right thing!

Suzy, the same for Dana! If she thinks she can do it, then maybe she can. Don't even let her entertain the idea that it isn't possible with an infant!

Brenda, you're right! Good for Suzy for not jumping at every request or being at someone's beck and call! Someone will profit from learning to do things for herself!

Heidi, the photos are beautiful. I think I have seen them when googling breed information, as well! Too bad you don't get paid for their use, but the dogs are gorgeous!

Mama, we know that things will eventually get straightened out. MizT will know that it's the thought that counts! (Did you happen to get a photo of the original item that could be shared with MizT eventually?) Thank you for your extended efforts on our behalf!

I need to run for now! It was fun to pop in this early for a change. Hope to see you all later! {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

Happy Birthday Sully!

Big hugs to Mamacita and Cyn.

June, good luck at bowls. I hope it is a fun game and your neuralgia doesn't give you too hard a time.

Dana is now hanging the first load of washing she has done since she came home (it's not swearing if someone else is doing it!) She tried to get me to 'help' with that too. I want her to believe in herself and know she can do this stuff ready for when she has no choice so I'm not doing it for her. I feel mean though.

Bless you Heidi, that is a sweet gesture. At the moment they are receiving immediate needs such as clothing, nappies, toys etc, and we are waiting for news of what their future needs will be. I will remember your query and let you know at a later date. I think for now, positive thoughts from all over the globe will suffice xoxo

Mama an friends, How generous and wonderful of you to think of me at Christmas. I will be right here for the next few weeks if the nurses be right. I am so glad you insured your gift, Al had a friend who did not, and gift was lost forevermore.

there is a family behind us that for lack of a better term we call " ferral". I won't say they are thieves, but ever since they moved in, items disappear from property of rightful owner. Packages disappear from mail box if left over night.

This one is almost funny. over a year ago, a friend was sending me a tea strainer, fine mesh, for making tea with my loose dried lemon balm or peppermint tea. I had sent her some tea in exchange. Package was late in arriving, and then one day a teenage ferral member came up to back porch, with a small box, opened. Teenager said "i think this is for you. We opened it by mistake". Handed me the tea strainer and started to leave. BTW, says he, just what is that anyway? hehehe Only mistake was the gift was unwanted by the ferrals, and they were nosey enough to find out what the tea strainer was. . If they happened by and package was left on back porch, they took it. If I was already in hospital when gift was delivered, they had days to happen upon it.

We thought today that some of Al's ladders were missing. One still may be, We were told by neighbors that Ferrals were seen with stolen items, be sure to lock everything down. There are places where the domes are more visible to the ferrals property than ours. I have always wondered about the safety of those 2 doors and one window. Terry and Eddie spent a few hours taking inside every thing that was not nailed to ground. I am just so glad that Eddie took my riding mower in side BEFORE I went into hospital.

Heidi, none was ridiculing your lack of terminology. Way I see it, we were poking a bit of fun at you. You can get us back on talking about breeding red angus or something. It is just being fun. Only you can sit there are say that your puter does not have -----, and bluff your way though. I think you are the only apple puter in the USA hehehe. None of the rest of us would know hehehe.

Heidi, I am wondering something. Did you sign away your rights to the images of your dogs? Do photos just automatically age into public domain? Something similar happened with photos of one of the domes Al built. Homeowner was not happy camper.

Mamacita, keep your date night, honor your husband. thinking of you both tonight.

Heidi, does his decision that you musst shoot dogs have anything to do with the fact that vet would charge him to put them to sleep?

OH, OH Gil will be holding the dogs while you shoot? He is one courageous man, you could so easily miss the dogs.

Tami, I think you cold. You are strong enough, might need a bit of practice to be accurate enugh, that is all.I am not the least surprise that Gil hid while you did the right thing with those dogs.

Have you ever thought of donkeys as compnion to the sheep and goats? the therapist today was talking about her goats and she keps donkeys with hers, the donkeys kill off the coyote's and such.

We tried donkeys. They were OK with the livestock when young (female was in with sheep and male was in with goats and bottle calves). As they grew up, the female started chasing pregnant ewes until they dropped, then she started killing newborn lambs. The male hated the goats and calves and kicked the daylights out of them. Both had to be sold.

I did sign over the rights to the pictures of those particular pictures because they were to be used in a book. They gave me copies of the ones they didn't use, and said that I could use them if I wanted to. But the photographer retained ownership of the images. I did not pay to have the pictures taken, but I was given credit for ownership of Bandit and Misty in the book.

I'm back, but later than I'd planned!

Brenda, Heidi and June, what a great way to start the page - with a toast to Sully! We're with you in spirit today, Mama! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and warm thoughts to you!

June, I hope you are feeling better and hope the bowls went well today!

Heidi, why am I not surprised at IH's waffling about the best way to proceed and especially at his "fearless" way to help and support you as you carried out his ultimatum? {{{HUGS}}} to you, as I'm sure it was difficult! My hat is off to you for doing the right thing and doing it quickly and painlessly for the dogs!

Welcome back Rolanda!
After putting up with Internet Explorer for years just because I could navigate my way around it, I changed last night to Google Chrome after a lot of trouble with FB - oh it is so delightful for sites to open immediately and things to happen immediately. I feel like a black cloud has lifted. It also has spell checker and puts each comment on here in a box. Ah, bliss!

Suzy, congrats on being able to let Dana learn some responsibility. It's kind of tough love, but for her best!

Mama, how unfortunate that one set of neighbors are the "feral"ones (great description, by the way)! So glad that you have also had good neighbors! So - you're thinking only a few weeks before your move? Wow! I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly! Thinking positive thoughts for all that must be done in that time! Please remember to take care of you! That should be the number one priority!

Gail, I'm still chuckling about the donkeys being a better companion than IH!

Welcome home, Rolanda!

I must get to bed soon! Clean sheets are beckoning! Thinking positive thoughts and sending healing vibes, , prayers and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} for everyone! Good Night, All!

Hi,had a good game of bowls and we won!. The couple we beat we the club pairs champions a couple of years ago. Next week it is the semi finals and one person in that pair is our club champion.
Welcome home Rolanda. Hope it was a great holiday.
Gail it is always hard when one loses a home to fire and not the help provided as when it is a national tragedy.
Suzy, Pleased Dana is learning to be able to do all her own chores. Best to learn now before the baby arrives.
The neuralgia has gone. I generally find it only lasts a day or two and washing my hair helps it to go. (I do wash my hair most days!)

Hello my friends.
Julie, Yay for clean sheets, they are the best!
Cyn, Google Chrome was great but I am still experiencing problems with some of the flash player games on the other site now. Could just clear the browsing history but that does not work anymore.
Rola, enough swearing!
Heidi, would they not believe you if you missed by 6ft?
June, glad you are feeling better.
Gail, thank you for caring for others. Yay! and Go Girl! for Hannah!
Another day and another dollar for me, been thrown in the deep end, good that I know how to swim.
Brain dead and eyes are sore from looking at a screen all day, thought of those I have not commented on as I read.
Love and Hugs to all.

One Collie puppy is adorable. Two Collie puppies are trouble. Three Collie puppies constitute a terrorist training camp.
The little monsters started screaming and barking at 6 am, demanding to be let outside (they're locked in a pen at night). They were only locked up 5 hours ago!
