Rolanda, you snooze, you lose

Speaking of snoozing, I am off to bed. Got to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for all my wonderful little students tomorrow.

(I hope you hear the sarcasm in my voice)

Greetings, Everyone!

June, I have also heard about the security scam that pops up on a computer. Since the virus checker Ken ran showed no problems, I'd be inclined to believe that! How annoying that you hadn't slept well last night! Hopefully the nap helped a lot and also hoping you sleep much better tonight! The lamb with figs and honey sounds yummy! When you finish cleaning Ken's keyboard, you can drop by and clean the one I'm using. It's disgustingly filthy.

Suzy, I'm going to try our other computer. For some reason, I wasn't able to listen to Alie's song on this one. VERY frustrating!

Heidi, I hope you find your checkbook! (At least we know where ours is, which is good because we had a call Sunday morning from our credit card company. Fraud alert. So our credit card has been cancelled and they will issue a new one. Not a good time to be waiting for that, as D is here now, and her hubby will be here this weekend. We are out of the habit of carrying cash.) How exciting that you're building an owl nesting box! I hope it will be put to great use!

Suzanne, spend that money well! Enjoy the Masons/Eastern Star fundraiser! The Shriners Hospital is a great resource for families with sick children! I also hope you enjoy dinner with your friend Helen!

MizT, it's SO hard to stay warm on a chilly damp day! I'm glad to hear you have a sherpa throw and polar tech shirt/jacket! Hopefully making the soup helped warm things up as well! Enjoy lunch with Al's brother tomorrow! Good for you for making the round trips to the mail box! Enjoy the sense of accomplishment!

Tami, were the boys throwing the rock inside the school? If so, that could have led to damages, as well as injuries if they had thrown accurately. A 10-day suspension may help they reconsider if throwing rocks is a good idea.

Suzy, I'll choose the 20th - for no particular reason.

Anecdote from today: I took Dana to the bank to deposit her inheritance and outside was a guy selling raffle tickets. The prize was a really great wooden, carved bench that he had made himself, the recipients of the money are his cousins who lost everything in a house fire. The bench was amazing! I'd love to win it. Turns out it is only the second one he has made and not what he does for a living... I was impressed both by his skill and by his efforts to help his cousins.

Morning all. Coffee is available. Grab a cup, sit down and enjoy.

Suzy, it sounds like the guy with the raffle is talented.

Julie, my school is hard to describe. Think of 2 diamonds side by side. Where the points in the middle meet is squared off. The classrooms are the walls of the diamonds and the square in the middle. The rest is open. There is grass and trees in the middle of the diamonds. The boys were in the middle where there are a few benches also. Remember, I live in South Florida. They keep us open to the elements.

Her due date is the 26th, so the 29th is quite possible. Just because Dana wants to get it over with soon, doesn't mean that the baby will cooperate. Dana will have to learn that babies are not the most cooperative and convenient critters. I think this one will start early teaching it's mom that lesson.

Good Morning All... My chosen date will be the 22nd Suzy. It's also my son and DIL's anniversary and hasn't been selected as of yet... hoping all goes well and that you will soon join us in the wonderfulness of grandparent-hood.♥
Julie, you really stay busy and don't get much sleep normally...how often do you get in bed at the time you set as goal when posting I wonder...I always become distracted and end up much later than planned. You asked if the year Reina is taking is a break in seeking her degree, and the answer is yes, unfortunately, she has had several breaks and she is becoming frustrated, yet determined to finish as the school of her choice ( San Francisco State). It is so expensive and grants and financial aid is drying up very quickly, then schools have started downsizing staff and class schedules get funky...so its become trying to get the classes needed to complete this final year...hopefully when she goes back, things will come together. I keep my fingers crossed.
Have a great day/night and a better tomorrow. Peace.

Suzy, I'll be 11, if it's not already taken. Just popping in here before I check my email.

MIL will be moving to another hospital on Monday. The care facility she is in now told her yesterday that they need her bed (?????) and she needs to move. Hubby is trying to find out what is going on because she was supposed to be at the care facility for 3 months. Need her bed? Well, she needs it too!!!

I was sitting on a bus behind a mother and her young son.
Her boy kept looking around and making weird funny faces at me.
After a few minutes I tired of his antics so I said,
"When I was a young girl my mother told me that if I made an ugly face it just might stay that way."

The little ba$tard replied, "Well, you can't say you weren't warned."

A group of 15-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Dairy Queen next to the Ocean View restaurant because they had only $6 among them and Jimmy Johnson, the cute boy in Social Studies, lived on that street.

Ten years later, the group of 25-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the beer was cheap, the restaurant offered free snacks, the band was good, there was no cover and there were lots of cute guys.

Ten years later, the group of 35-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the cosmos were good, it was right near the gym and, if they went late enough, there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.

Ten years later, the group of 45-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the martinis were big and the waiters had tight pants and nice buns.

Ten years later, the group of 55-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the prices were reasonable, the wine list was good, the restaurant had windows that opened (in case of a hot flashes), and fish is good for cholesterol.

Ten years later, the group of 65-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the lighting was good and the restaurant had an early bird special.

Ten years later, the group of 75-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food was not too spicy and the restaurant was handicapped-accessible.

Ten years later, the group of 85-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they had never been there before.

The Importance of walking

Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $3,000 per month.

I am down to just under 50 email ... and I think I'll give up for now.

I went for fasting blood tests this morning, and I have my doctor's appointment tomorrow. I will be so glad to have the arm checked out. Some days it is so bad I can't even lift an empty cup!

Think I will head home and grab some lunch. I'll drop in when I can. That's a threat, not a promise!!!!

Today was ground hog day, and it is reported the little rascal saw his shadow. Six more weeks of winter. Well, we have not really had winter yet. I closed my doors and windows today at 5:45. Temp is still in high 60's. I sat in the sun today in shirt sleeves. It has been a lovely day. forecast was for cloudy , nope we had sun most of the day with high floating white clouds to make the blue skies look bluer.
