I now have purple/pink glasses too.
Looking forward to seeing you too Beanie, leaving it up to you to work out when you'll be available and where.
Viv, we are flying to Melbourne then off to Hobart, and directly home to Brisbane afterwards. So I still haven't got down your way. My daughter and her family would have driven past the Port turn-off tonight (told her to wave) on their way to Sydney on a quick trip to collect a car they bought (Toyota Land Cruiser). They collect and pay for it in the morning, spend the afternoon having a super quick look around, kids have never been there, and then drive back on Sunday for school, work and college on Monday! Phew!!

Morning friends. today has started a much better day than yesterday was. For unknown reasons, yesterday pain meds just did not work for hours after taking them and hips were complaining loudly. I did as much of nothing as I could, and slept or dozed a lot. Today I am up doing ffuts, even took some things I had sorted for garage sale out to storage, get it out of my way here.

A warm day today, with a wind with a touch of a chill. I was outside with a long sleeved T and was comfortable. Just no sun, it would be nice to have sunshine today. Oh it did peek out long enough to remind me what sunshine looked like hehehe. Made me want more.

I have another cart full of bags of things to remove to storage. Perhaps later. I stopped when back began to whisper to me, did not want it screaming today

Wonder if I have ingredients for chicken gumbo? Or a good chicken stew? I am wanting vegetables, lots of vegetables and that seemed easy for lunch. I will check in later today, and perhaps comment on posts. I did read them, just do not remember what i wanted to say. that is happening more lately, I blame pain meds, my story.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

We have great weather today. Sunny and warm. Tee shirt weather, too. The strange thing is that they're calling for snow in 2 days, then back up into the 60's again next week.

I just found out that the tractor dealership is replacing my new tractor altogether. They'll be delivering the newest one on Wednesday. The one I just bought had so many problems caused by the manufacturers. They hadn't tightened down bolts in the engine or in the lift arm assembly. The engine itself broke loose, and bearings broke. I think the dealership will be returning it to the factory. The replacement will be my third new Mahindra tractor. "They" say that the third time is the charm, so I'm gonna be positive about it.

Good morning all - thanks for welcome backs!
Tricia - pleased your day has started better, hope it stays that way.
Heidi - hope the replacement tractor is all you expected it to be and all it should be!! It's the inconvenience that's so frustrating.

Great to see you Bean. Have a great weekend and enjoy the time with your sister.

I decided it was time I tackled the rest of the pantry. Just emptied the top shelf. The overflow from the drinks cabinet.8 bottles of whisky, 3 Kahlua, 2 Brandy, 4 Port, Tia Maria,Gin, best Rum, Anyone care to join me. I may not get the pantry finished. Actually it is there because we drink very little and we generally buy duty free when we come home from travels. The pain is, although there was no food on that shelf, the mouse ran over the bottles so I will need to wash them all. Any way better put out some washing and then get out the paint to paint the top half of the pantry.

You're a little too far for IH to show up there, June. He'll never pass up a chance to have a drink or 2 or 5.

Yeah, free drinks. His cousin Don has a large bourbon collection, and IH helps himself to it. Frequently. Alcoholism runs in his family.

Still having trouble in the communications department.. landline is still down and we're hobbling along running up a tab on mobile broadband. ADSL will be SO GOOD when we are back on line... Pete was poking around seeing if he could sort out the problem... before the first point/jack is telstra's problem or after there...my problem.. Definitive diagnosis not made.

He spotted the old phone that is surplus to requirements [bought new phones B4 I realised the problem wasn't the phones]. I said he could have it and decided to check the messages on it before handing it over. Ended up in tears.

There were three messages from Sharon on the answering machine. I couldn't hand the phone over.. nor could I really explain why but I know you will all understand.. I miss her so much... nothing compared to you June but she was a good friend & helped me through a pretty dark passage of my life. Now I'm needing to go find a hanky and something 'fun' to do. Love & hugs to all

Broni, I would have offered you a drink when you were here but you brought your own.
Bean it will still be here when you come to Sydney, unless my son stays with us for a while. What is in the pantry does not include what is in the cupboard in the lounge room. It is all there because we drink very little.
Finished the painting that I will do for today. Still a bit of wall (I was filling some screw holes and not ready to sand) and from the floor to the lower shelf. That will be hard as I will have to lie on my back to do it. Something for another day. I still have to line the shelves and put all those bottles back plus electrical appliances.

I understand Bean. If you ring Sharon's home it is still her voice on the answering machine. Probably hard for some people but I enjoy hearing her voice.
I went down memory lane yesterday going through the old post cards. Some from our rips, some from my Mum etc. I had a great time. I was also amazed at the number of cards with no writing.

IH's mechanic just called, looking for IH. IH picked up his truck this morning and didn't pay for the repairs. Why am I not surprised?

He's been at his church for the past 4 1/2 hours. He's gonna get an earful when he returns.
Wanna hear an actual quote from IH? He once said to me: "I'm a better person than you are because I go to church and you don't."

June it was my cous Maz and I, could not come empty handed, since you were providing accommodation and food on short notice. I hope we helped tidy the place a little before the onslaught of guests.
No Cyn, IH does not change, the only thing that has is ours lives seemed to have settled down a bit and we are expecting a new bubs(new life for old)

New bub tried to rush her way into the world but seems to have settled down now. Just waiting for the doc to arrive to take her off nil by mouth. I think shes probably stuck here at least overnight now. We are staying with her until he has been.

Keeping this short as it is frustrating typing on the phone

My guess was one week from today.

Cows have the same gestation period as humans... 9 months. We consider the calf full term up to 10 days early. We would say that Dana is in the window.

Did I miss a baby guessing competition?? Or was that just your guess, Heidi? Too close now for me to guess anyway - I think it could only be days now.
Got another young friend due at the end of Feb - another girl, Isabella. I just hope neither child is born on Feb 29 - I'd hate to have that for a birthday.
Then I have a friend due on Mar 29th - she is having her first son after 4 (yes 4) daughters - woohoo!
Just an observation - it seems everyone opts for knowing in advance these days. Wasn't available to me, I had to wait.

All of the birds are happy. I bought a huge, fresh head of romaine lettuce for them and divided it up among all the birds to allow 1 leaf per every 3 or 4 birds. (It was bigger than my head.) There's a feeding frenzy going on.

You can still enter a guess with Suzy for the date that the "Bub" will arrive. Most people's guesses have passed already. I was a sadist with a full term guess.
