Yes, Heidi, I needed a smile after the morning I've had. What have I been doing? Trying and eventually succeeding to download books onto my eReader. I had been putting it off for weeks because it seemed too hard (it was) but I wanted to have it done and ready so I can read on the plane and when I get a chance while we're away. I downloaded 'The Little Coffee Shop in Kabul', 'The Help' and 'Eat Pray Love' - I hated that movie but I thought if I read the book it might make better sense and not seem such self-centred claptrap.

Hi all!
Congratulations Cyn. I've downloaded heaps of books to my kindle (freebies of course) and it's just a simple click to send it via wifi or 3G. I haven't bought any books yet as the ones I want are still too dear - nearly the price of the paperback version.

Vicki - all up they cost nearly $30 from A&R, the Kabul one was the most expensive but the others were $8 or so. I must look around for free ones - perhaps try the Vic Point Library.

Suzy and Dana, hang in there. It won't be long now. I was going to vote for the 25th as well as it's my brothers birthday.

We bought the new bed on Saturday - delivery in the next week or so but we aren't in any hurry. It was so nice to be thanked for coming back to buy from them. We bought a ute for hubby a few years back and never even got thanked or congratulated ... I was very peeved especially when the fan belt broke on the way home from the dealers and it had to be taken back by tow truck.

It was a normal weekend for us - visit Mum and take her shopping, so that's Saturday gone. Sunday was church, followed by a rest and then visit to MIL... Goodbye Sunday.

Luckily I had Friday off so we could do some things that we wanted to do. The next few weekends are flat out but the boys are going away next week so it should be quiet at home. I' looking forward to some "us" time. Dinner when and what we want, no late night fridge raiders, just peace and quiet. I guess that means that I'll miss them.

The books I want to buy are fairly recent releases - still around $15-17 per book which I think is far too dear.
I actually have bought the latest Inspector Linley novel as it was only $2 dearer than the kindle version. Most of the books I'm waiting for are the latest in a series of books so in the meantime I'm reading the freebies. Some are ok, others are too predictable but I suppose that's the luck of the draw.

Good evening, Everyone! Wow! It's not yet 10 p.m. and I'm here. (Well, I'm waiting for something to be finished, then I'll be gone again for a bit.)

Two timely and excellent TOPPS on page 346! Thanks, Tami and June!

Are we all holding our breath? Well, Dana has a terrible cold; Tami planned to go to her hubby's softball game and invited her SisIL and her hubby (possibly their daughter, too) for dinner; Broni is waiting; MizT caught a nap or two and had a delicious dinner planned; Heidi is feeling better and progressed to a cane, but her tongue is still numb; the Decorah eagle laid her first egg; Rolanda hopes she'll win the baby game and is waiting; Bean is checking in and waiting; CynB is going to have a full and boisterous house, but will have a trusted house sitter while away; Mama is also waiting; Brenda has chosen the 23rd; and there was a small diaper discussion. (I used cloth except occasionally when we were going to be away for hours; D used disposable for her 3.) I hope I didn't miss anyone!

What a wonderful silly TOPP, Heidi!

Cyn and Vicki, I didn't realize the e-books could be so expensive. However, there's certainly a convenience factor! I'll try to remember to ask D if she has tried to download books and if so, if she had any difficulties.

We have an early morning tomorrow, so I'm off to bed, but will be thinking of Suzy and Dana! {{{{HUGS}}}}, positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers and in abundance!

Suzy - that baby needs to come out before she worries the socks off the entire Sudoku world, not to mention her own family. She'll either be an active full-on baby or a sleepy peaceful one once she enters the world. I haven't had a guess but I think I'll go for Wed 22/2. <3

Dana has decided the nurses must really like her because they keep finding reasons to keep her there! At least I got most of the kitchen debburcs before we left this morning..

After that we had errands to run - the bank was closed, the radiographer printed off film rather than put them on a CD.. bub's size was the equivalent of 34 weeks 2 days at 38 weeks 5 days. That sounds really bad but it is 2.47kg +/-360g... 5 and a half pounds..

The first 2 places we looked didn't have the lip stuff Dana needed...

Eventually got home though.

I don't know how Julie does it. Out and about and busy all day and still has the energy to comment on all of the posts... My brain is not working again! I will get back because I've read stuff I really want to say something about - I just don't remember what right now.

I have posted two photos for you. Dana said if she's going to be a sudoku baby then her photos should be on sudoku...

Suzy, I need a bit of direction to interpret those scans.
Cyn, is your computer wireless connected? I bring up the books on the computer and often use the site Brenda recommended ( ereaderiq.com especially if you want to look up the free books) After you have read reviews etc you can just click on but which takes you to Amazon where you hit buy again and I then find it loaded onto my Kindle where ever it is the house.
I read The Help and it is worth the $8. But I also recommend Sleep Tight (free),Play Dead and Hush (Both $4)all by Anne Frasier. Murder mystery romance.I found they were ones that made me want to keep reading.
And also remember it is an electronic device so has to be turned off for take off and landing when in a plane.

Suzy, I agree about Julie. She is always on the go. I often tell you when I do things but not when I am sitting doing very little! (which is a lot of the time)
hubby went to a meeting. Said he would be home about 7pm, and now nearly 8pm. Just walking in so will have our dinner!

Wonderful news!

Some of the townsfolk went along to the council general meeting to hear the motion re changes to the council's heritage overlay plan. They have agreed to alter the overlay to include the former kindergarten building and surrounding area, and have agreed to put $200,000 into the fund to rebuild the structure as proposed by the Ash Wednesday Memorial Project Committee. :)))

Here is a link to the council agenda, which includes a wonderful proposal written by a local townswoman, brilliantly I might add!
ps It's fairly big and not vital to look at, but there if you are interested

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself. Had a nice day yesterday. Hubby's team won their softball game against an undefeated team. They gave the other team their first loss. Dinner was nice, my niece ended up coming over and we had a good time. Have the day off today and have a few errands to do. See you all later.

Gail... great news! You worked hard to get that to happen, and the results sound perfect.

Suzy...... I can't make heads or tails out of those scans. I think I saw a mouse in one, and the other looked like a bad of cats, fighting. I hope the person holding the scanner had a shaky hand. Otherwise, our Sudoku baby might look like the creature from "Alien".

We had a purebred heifer born this morning. I'll probably keep her.

I enjoy reading older books. Right now I'm reading the Scarlet Pimpernel series... 16 books by Baroness Orczy. I'd always thought that "The Scarlet Pimpernel" was a book that stood on it's own. But she also wrote 13 sequels and 2 prequels. They're all very enjoyable.

Waiting...only to find that Heidi has broken the site...she must have run it over with her wheelchair or knocked it down trying to hit Gil... I'll opt for the latter...even tho I know it wouldn't happen...the thought was funny to me.
Hope all is going as it should with Dana and the wee one...Suzy too.
For those who asked, my quiet house is welcomed, not lonely..but peaceful after the constant babble of little ones, t.v, and the like...and yes they are still here and will be for some extended time yet...but nap time or rest periods are sweet!♥

Good morning - we apparently had a storm early this morning - I never heard a thing!
June - yes my computer and eReader both have wifi. I looked at that site you mentioned - but after the day I'd had, I just bookmarked it and will look another day.
Gail - I'm glad you've got a council that listens to what the residents want. I'll have a look at that website later today.
Tami - sent off a postcard yesterday - not as great a local picture as I would have liked but, not living in a big touristy area, nobody sells a lot of postcards.

Cyn, I appreciate it. It doesn't have to be a big touristy area. I want the kids to see the real world also. We talk about different places. I want them to know it is real. Most of my kids don't see beyond their neighborhood.
