Heidi, I am sure both Mitchell and Dylan could teach you a thing or two. Why do you think I have never told them all the stuff I did to my older brother? I was definitely a bratty little sister.

Congratulations on the new arrival, brenda. I hope you get photos soon, to be properly introduced to her.

Viv, how are you and hubby? when will you know more about his condition? I join the others in hoping it is something minor that is easily repaired.

time for breakfast, I hope to be back later. Must make a wal mart trip, need new phone card, and want a wave petunia. pick up a few groceries while I am out.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

yes, Broni.... though it wasn't a pipe, it was a sheet of PVC that they cut out, heated to soften, and molded it to fit the contours of my hand in the position they wanted it in. Yes, they molded it in place around my hand. And YES, it was hot. But once it was cooled, it was very comfortable, and could be removed to wash my skin so I didn't end up with that awful after-cast smell.

We are home. Cast is on and looks like a boxing glove. They want to make sure he doesn't move the pinky. The good news is no surgery or manipulation needed. Just a cast and time. He has a waterproof cast on in blue.

Blue is good. I'm glad all went well. I wonder how long it will take before it actually becomes a boxing glove?

I'll go look in a minute, Tami.

So much for getting any work done today. We sorted out all of the cow calf pairs, except the cow that had a bull calf this morning, and moved them into another pasture. Then I had a dizzy spell, and gave up. I still feel light headed. I thought at first that I needed to get some food in me, so I ate a bacon sandwich and a serving of blueberry yogurt, but it hasn't helped.

That makes it 24 bull calves and 5 heifer calves so far. There are only 4 cows left to calve. I think.

Tami, Dylan's cast looks cumbersome and awkward. Big hugs to him! Waterproof casts make so much more sense don't they?

Happy Passover! I don't know if it's correct to say that, but you know what I mean..

Suzy, yes I know what you mean. The cast is a little cumbersome. It curves over the last two fingers so he can't straighten them. He is already getting used to it.

I think the worst part will be when he gets it off. Alie still hasn't regained the strength in her arm - not that she tried very hard!

Three things left to do and then I'm on the road. First I have to find a way to pull some strawberries so I can plant them at home, I have to hang sheets and towels on the line (neighbour will take them off for me) and lastly I will have coffee at the art gallery. That's it for me. I'm not going around to say goodbye to everyone, I can't.

Happy tummy. We feasted on tempura shrimp and fresh sweet corn. Maybe I'll make an ice cream sundae for dessert.

Off to take care of the birds and puppies, then go to bed with a good book I just got. I finally got the last one of the Scarlet Pimpernel series that I've been missing. There are actually 16 books in the series by Baroness Orczy!

Morning

We had a lovely day yesterday, Luncheon for 7 at our place.
Today the boy (Stephen, not Robert Julie.. Thanks for the welcome home message) is catching up with friends. P is dropping him off at a Mate's. S does have keys to the house, and if need be, his father has said he will come and pick him up, should he need a lift home.
Meanwhile P nd I are thinking of going to the movies this afternoon.. watch 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'

Hi, Everyone! I made it here before midnight! I hope all are well!

Our busy days continue. I went to water aerobics today (2 hours if you count travel, class, shower, and return home), practiced the cello for about 2.5 hours, and made 2 pens for our club's Pens For Troops program. The club's goal this year is 1,000 pens. Hubby was given some gift certificates for helping teach pen turning at a vendor's booth at a wood show, and we decided to use them to purchase kits for pens (just over 100 kits). Hubby has made 90+ pens, and I have now made 3.

Cyn, it's nice to have a quiet house, but also nice to have family there. Sounds like you got a lot of cleaning/organizing finished! Hopefully tomorrow will be more relaxing! Take care!

Tami, I hope Dylan's appointment went well and there were no complicating factors!

Tami, your TOPP is SO true! (Thanks to John Lennon.) Dylan's cast looks big - and difficult to pull a sleeve over. I hope he doesn't need to wear anything with long sleeves, as they have a smaller circumference than short sleeves. Will he go to baseball games to cheer on the rest of the team, even though he won't be able to play for a bit? I like the color he chose. (Is it a team color for a favorite team, or just a color he likes? Waterproof casts are SUCH a good idea!

Heidi, I hope all your bull calves this year won't affect the numbers next year! (Do you keep records over the years? What do you suppose was the cause of so many bull calves this year?) I'm so sorry to hear you were feeling dizzy. I'm certainly glad to hear that you felt better after your nap!

Heidi, I had NO idea that the Scarlet Pimpernel was a series of books! It must have been quite unusual to have 16 books in the series by Baroness Orczy!

Rolanda, so sorry I welcomed the wrong son home! (Of course, you would be pleased to have Robert at home, as well!) Welcome home, Stephen! Rolanda, I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Sending lots of positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{HUGS}}}} for Everyone! Happy Easter or Happy Passover or just plain Happy Weekend, whichever is appropriate! Good Night!

Hello all -
Rolanda - I'm glad that Stephen is with you. Now you'll be a happy Mummy!
Suzy - are you home yet or still driving?
Well the house is still tidy and neat but only until the family arrive for lunch tomorrow. Oh well, to be expected. Not cooking up a storm, just cold meats and salads (still warm in Qld), fruit, had a small untouched home-made Christmas cake hidden away - will cut it for afterwards. The kids are only getting 2 easter eggs from us - I can't bring myself to buy huge amounts to rot their teeth (and pay a mint for useless packaging either). They're also getting some money each to spend how they like.

I'm home! Just under 10 hours including stops and detours... yes, there was a road still closed. The detour was only just open too! Water was right up to the edge of the road in one place.

I'm tired, but now filled with caffeine so won't be sleeping for a while. A glass or two of wine will help there...

I killed a turtle!! Actually it was probably a tortoise, but whatever it was, I ran over it! I stopped for sheep,

I've come home to a whole lot of work. The stuff hubby brought home from Moulamein is all piled up in the kitchen. Neat piles, but still piles.

Good to hear that you made it home safely, Suzy, despite the tortoise incident and the flooded roads. Sorry to hear that there's still piles of work yet. At least you can take your time. And you are home.

Back to bed now. I hate it when IH wakes me up at dawn by singing "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic" (off key) at the top of his lungs. This is not the first time. He always acts surprised that he's disturbed me!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself. Had a nice seder (traditional Passover dinner) at Sis-in-laws house. She had 23 people for dinner. She has a big house and is a fabulous cook. Dylan got to be the center of attention. My parents will be here tonight.

Suzy, glad you are home safely. I know it is a lot of work but it will be easier at home. Saw the picture of Tahlia on the other page. She is getting so big.

Julie, Dylan had a choice of about 15 or more colors but chose his favorite.

Rolanda, glad that the boy is home and you are enjoying the company.

Cyn, I agree about not buying too much candy. All it does is give cavities.
