Evening all,
Gail, it's a shame Hannah's teenage shyness stopped her going in more musicals. Especially since you've told us her voice is really good - not that we'd know for ourselves since you've never shared it with us! Alie was lucky as she had her singing teacher help her with her first performances so by the time school musicals came along she was an old pro.

Tami, what a way to start school holidays - with a fractured finger!! The free bowling sounds like a bargain. I don't think we could have 4 people play 2 games for that... Alie has had a very quiet day. I didn't even lecture her about her pigsty!

Heidi, I really loved your lion pictures. You really don't give yourself enough credit sometimes.. Your animal posts more than make up for no people kid posts!

Theresa, I don't know if I'll ever get used to hearing about freezing snow and miserable heat and humidity from the same place!! Real seasons I guess. One of the great things about being on here is getting to hear about different places...

June, I'd stay away from recliners for a while if I were you.

MizT, I love the sound of Joy's kitten. I think everyone needs a baby animal to love at some point in their lives. Lonely, stressful or otherwise difficult times in particular. Animals give us so much more than we give them.

Bean, nothing I can say other than send hugs <3<3

Tami, I love bananas!! Not sure how I feel about the banana scented moisturiser and candle hubby bought me in at the Big Banana..

Just adjudicating an argument right now. Dana is saying 'stop it'.. Alie was 'not touching her'. I said 'it's annoying little children who do the not touching thing'. Alie laughs and Dana is like h3ll yeah. After a pause I said 'and it's annoying little children who get annoyed by it'. They both burst out laughing!

Oh, poor little Tahli. She's so sick she can't even cry properly! She has the same thing as Alie I think...

Julie. bummed you didn't get to practice your cello!

Rolanda, it sounds like you are having a great time!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

It is a yucky day here. Grey skies and 80% chance of rain. A yucky Saturday. And they call the place I live in 'sunny South Florida,' Yeah, right!!!!

Don't know what we are going to do today. Will stop by later to say hello.

Rolanda, lucky you, getting to sample some of the yummy sounding menus that Gail has been putting up on site, well, in the past, not lately. hope the weather is good for your flight with vdV. Nice that the red headed one was able to join you, a visit with sudoku friends plus your own offspring, double treat. What is the Big Smoke?

Gail, can't forget the ie ream hehehe. what flavor? Strawberry??

SUZY, if you broke it, you also fixed it hehehe. Poor Tahlia, hope she is soon over the cold. babies with a old are so pitiful.

JULIE, hope you enjoy your day with SIL and D#2. helping to paint is above and beyond, you know. Are both daughters plus grandies staying with you? You will have a houseful! Do drop in to let us know you are surviving hehehe. Just a 'here I is' will do.

JUNE, I need to get to your page to see the sunset photos. I missed seeing them when you posted them. Julie reminded me they were there, thanks Julie.

HEIDI, enjoy your stress free, Gil free days!

TAMI, sorry your budget was hit for new glasses for Mitchell. How is packing your Mom going??

Well, that gets me back to one of my posts, so I should get up from here and get something done. A bit more grass to mow, some chores here, a book to read. Same ole same, different day.

hugs to each of you, with extras.

Gekko everyone.
Up early, for me. I need to go get some diesel for my tractor so I can finish the hay moving. I just need to move 15 rolls off the fields, and stack a whole bunch that's just sitting outside the barn. I have talked to the tractor mechanic and he'll be picking up the tractor next week. It just needs a routine servicing, and the air conditioner needs to be fixed. That's the only problem I've had with this tractor. The AC has never worked. When you pay $45,000 for a tractor, you expect the AC to work.

Tricia, I would love to send you some of our rain. I can send the boys to stay with you for a few days. If the rain doesn't come with them, they can do a rain dance.

The saga of trying to breed Serenade continues. Their Vet did a culture and she had a slight uterine infection. That's why the breedings didn't take. She's now been treated with antibiotics (they did a culture to make sure that the bacteria wasn't resistant to the antibiotic) and now they're breeding her again. (Mares ovulate every 3 weeks). All should go well this time.

I have NO IDEA how to handle boys. I fought with my brother till I married and moved away. Never had a boy, although my Dad kept wishing them upon me, as payback for not getting along with my brother.

Tricia, I have always been the only girl. My dad is the only child and my mom's brother never had kids. It is just me and my brother. Most of my friends, when I was young, were boys. I built tree houses and rode skateboards. I did not know what to do with dolls and I always hated dresses. I don't think I would know what to do if I had a girl

Hi everyone.
Nothing out of the ordinary happening here. It is meant to be fine but looks miserable outside.Greg may not go on the bike ride now.

Suzy..it is awful when babies are sick and can't breathe properly.I hope Tahli recovers quickly. The DVD for school must have been very hard for you to handle. I also, wished I could ring Mum,especially when Renae had the premmie twins. She would have been so happy.

Rolanda...your adventure continues with more exciting meetings with sudokuholics. Enjoy.

Tami..you made me giggle when you said most of your friends were boys. If you had had a girl, bet you would have been great though.

Heidi...glad they found out what could be the cause of Serenade not being in foal.Good luck this time.As for the tractor A/c,you would need it in your summer. As for the lion drawings.WOW.So lifelike.

Julie...enjoy all your visitors and catch up with the other things later.

No wonder I am hot, it is 97F 36C with a feels like of 101F 38C. I have both AC units on and temp is still going up up up inside. If I had someone to install it, I would be considering buying a larger, newer AC for here in bedroom. the one here is OLD and does not cool as well as it once did.

MizT, we had a frost this morning and it is still rather cool. The sun is shining so will probably be a lovely day and get up to 18*-19*c.
I hope to get out and do some gardening later.

Hi MizT...make sure you drink a lot of water.(As if you didn't know that) hehe
Our 1st a/c that we installed was a small unit that Greg installed for the bedroom when I was doing night shift. It gave me a cooler sleep during the hottest part of the day and we would both bask in there on other hot days.
I often wonder, how people tolerated working outside in the heat of the day and not having a/c.
Tougher than I am, for sure.

Greetings and Salutations! We have had a long and hot day, so I'm just popping in to say Hello and let you know all is well! Painting is done, other than possible touch-ups. D#1 and grandies arrive tomorrow. Things are mostly done. Time for a last push tomorrow morning and several boxes on hand to dump things into.

{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} to all! I'll be thinking of you!

Howdy everyone. June, vdV was able to take Rolanda up this morning. They had a great, albeit bumpy, flight out over the heads, back across Phillip Island towards Wilson's Prom then up over Cockatoo and back to Tooradin. We had a fabulous time as usual, although sadly Liz wasn't able to make it again due to illness, and a couple of others have been sickies of late too :(
Ah winter, tis the season!

What a wonderful day..
Sudokuites are the best.
Haven't any photo's so I hope others do.
So good to have 3 of our offspring on the table along with the older fogeys.

Last time Lachie went flying he tried to do some filming and the battery died in my camera[haven't located the charger yet.. it was moved to stop the dogs eating it] Today he got to try out his latest acquisition.. a camera that he can attach to his headset. Wonderful film quality. A little fine tuning is necessary with camera positioning on his headpiece to reduce the amount of cockpit in the shot. Looking forward to his next run.

I am up earlier than I intended. Woke with a cat nose nudging me. That would have been forgivable if there was a real kitty cat emergency, but there was dry food in her bowl! I think she wanted me to cook for her. Dry food, water, in microwave, add tiny spoon of canned food to make 'gravy'. Whatever gave her the idea I was willing to cook at all hours of the day??

think I shall try the bed again, offending cat was escorted outside with NO breakfast!

Does anyone besides me try to post their comments here by hitting ENTER??

TAMI, tropical storm Debbie sending you a lot of rain? It would be nice if it came on north, left us with some rain. No one seems confident about where Debbie will go, but west for landfall in Texas is being guessed most often.

Going back to bed did not achieve desired results, I could not get back to sleep. I did have a nice rest though, once the morning meds erased all the achies.

BEAN, glad you enjoyed the meet up. How I wish I could have been there too. Looking forward to others posting photos later.

You are forgiven the no photos. Putting a camera so dogs cannot chew it is a good thing. forgetting where you put it is not, but we all do such. I had a couple of gift cards, prepaid plastic, and Joy was concerned about me keeping them in my purse. Well, having cards fall from purse in parking lot because I had not securely closed the flap might have something to do with that. I 'put them in a safe place', thought I knew where that safe place was, but they were missing for a couple months. Then one day I opened the drawer where I thought they were, the drawer I had searched multiple times and there they were!! Hiding in plain sight hehehe.

Rolanda, was this your first flight in a small plane? what was the best thing about that flight? anything scary about it? What did you most enjoy seeing from up above?

Julie, we had a hot and hotter day here also. At least I was not painting! Enjoy having your girls and grandies for a visit. I have forgotten, how long will they be with you??

NOLA, I have drank till I was floating hehehe. I also had a spray bottle, would stand in front of one of the fans (must use fans to blow the cool air where it is needed) and sprayed water into the air stream. The fine mist covering the body is very cooling as it evaporates. I also spray my head from the bottle, if i keep the head cool I am cool. Thanks for reminding me though.

NOLA, I often wonder how we tolerated working inside in this kind of heat. summer was 'putting back' time, canning and freezing the abundance of fresh vegetables and fruit available at farmers' market. the shelling, snapping and such was done on the front porch. there were 4 HUGE trees who's branches covered the porch, and we kept us about 15 degrees cooler under them. But the blanching, in boiling water, the packaging or the canning was inside, with only one tiny window, and no shade from trees. The kitchen was the hottest room in the house even before we turned on the stove. Early on, my job was the fast cooling of the blanched veggies, which required large quantities of cold water. some always escaped the sink and kept my clothes wet and cooler hehehe.

I just remembered, I have not had breakfast. Best finish dressing and dry my hair, and get something to eat. Hugs to each of you, with extras. Till later.
