Tricia, we are getting the outer edge of Debby. It is just a yucky day.

I so envy you the rain, Tami. It's too dry here, with no chance of rain in the forecast.

All of the hay was stowed in barns yesterday. I still have space for 9 rolls in one barn and ~20 rolls in another. If we get some good rain in July, we'll have another cutting or two later this summer. Right now nothing in growing.

All I have to do today is re-inflate a tire on the hay hauler and pick a mess of blackberries. IH will be home this afternoon, so the stress will be returning. Robert will be gone for the next 2 weeks. A relative of his has a fireworks stand and has hired him to provide security for the stand at night. Robert is good at providing security. He does that at the wrestling shows, and used to work as a bouncer at bars.

Heidi, the rain is usually welcome but when you are stuck in the house it can be 'too much of a good thing.' There is not much to do indoors that is cheap. Spent enough money this week.

We decided to have a movie marathon. Watching 'Salt' now and then maybe a few 'Star Trek's'

Well, I re-inflated the tire on the hay hauler, then went to move 7 rolls of hay for IH. I should have stayed inside in the AC. The front tire came off the tractor in the driveway. The repairman cannot get here until tomorrow at the earliest, and the driveway is now blocked off. I am NOT happy.

For those of you needing rain, I will try to help you out. Five out of the next seven days are forecasting rain. Like Tami, I will be suffering from cabin fever. At least I don't have two young lads to keep amused while indoors. Good luck, Tami!

At least I was able to pick some blackberries.... a full gallon of them! And that's not including all of the handfuls I ate while picking them. And there are a lot more on the bushes that haven't ripened yet. Something had to go right today. IH will be home in less than an hour, too. Oh, well.

Heidi, enjoy the blackberries. It sounds good to be able to pick and eat them. I love berries. There used to be a place near me where you could pick strawberries, but it closed.

My spot isn't closed because it's along the edge of my alfalfa field, on the banks of the creek. There are far more wild blackberries there than we could possibly eat, so plenty is left for the wildlife.

For anyone who has ever been annoyed by loud cell phone users, here is a great one!

After a very busy day, a commuter settled down in her seat and closed her eyes as the train departed Montreal for Hudson.
As the train rolled out of the station, the guy sitting next to her pulled out his cell phone and started talking in a loud voice: 'Hi sweetheart it's Eric, I'm on the train - yes, I know it's the six thirty and not the four thirty but I had a long meeting - no, honey, not with that floozie from the accounts office, with the boss. No sweetheart, you're the only one in my life - yes, I'm sure, cross my heart' etc., etc.
Fifteen minutes later at St. Anne de Bellevue he was still talking loudly , when the young woman sitting next to him, who was obviously angered by his continuous diatribe, yelled at the top of her voice:'Hey, Eric, turn that stupid phone off and come back to bed!'
My guess would be that Eric doesn't use his cell phone in public any longer.

It is currently raining, and overnight is only supposed to be 14C - should be a nice night to sleep without the AC on.

Heidi, our blackberries are starting to turn pinkish, so I guess a few more weeks. Hubby says he prefers the wild ones to the ones you buy in the store; much more flavourful according to him. I don't really eat them so I don't know.

Hi, All! I have just quickly scanned page 452 comments. No time to respond, as it's past 12:30 a.m.

D#1 and grandies arrived today. Two-year-old running a fever. Six-year-old on meds for strep throat. Four-year-old started coughing at dinner time. They'll be here until our Thursday morning. Furniture will arrive Wednesday afternoon for D#2 and SIL, according to latest estimates from moving van dispatcher. I'm not sure if they'll stay overnight at their apartment, or stay with us until Thursday morning in order to see the others before they leave. My next cello lesson is Thursday afternoon, and I haven't had a chance to touch it since last Thursday afternoon. I'm feeling quite concerned and need to find some time to practice.

I can't remember anything I read, so won't be commenting.

{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing vibes and for everyone!

Julie, please do not catch any of those bugs. Shut yourself away somewhere and get your practice. I might help you relax.
Met Belinda for lunch. I took some fresh bread rolls. She was running the state high school table tennis competition and could not leave the venue. It was a way of seeing her for her birthday.
Belinda had some wild blackberry bushes on her property when she first bought it but we have slowly eradicated them. I love blackberries but they are a good haven for snakes and also become a noxious weed.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Julie, thanks for stopping by and saying hello, even if you can't comment. Sounds like you are going to have a busy week. Try to take care of yourself so you don't catch what the kids have.

Theresa, I love blackberries but have never had a wild one before. I will have to take your husband's word that they taste better.

The tractor tire is fixed. We discovered what happened. The bolt holding the rim to the hub came loose, and 2 fell off. That gave the tire a sudden wobble which broke the seal and caused a sudden flat. We put a tube in the tire, replaces one bolt (he only had one the right size) and tightened up the others. I was able to move and unload the last of the hay. The tractor will be having a break, during which it's going in for it's first scheduled servicing. I'll have the mechanic at the dealership check out the wheel, too. I may need a new rim.

Morning all.

Julie, we all hope you can avoid getting sick ... but it's hard not to spend time with little ones when you don't see them that often. Like June said, take some time to practice (practise???) because it will make you feel better.

Thanks for the coffee, Tami.

It is really cool here. I have goose bumps and I'm in the house. I am keeping the windows open anyway because it's so refreshing. It's only a matter of time before we're inundated with heat again. It would be wonderful to sit outside with a coffee but it's too wet.

Hubby and I might move down to the family farm (it's actually owned now by my hubby) sooner rather than later so we can live with his dad. A government agency specifically for veterans is going to be installing a shower downstairs and expand the powder room so that my FIL can move his bed downstairs and not have to go up and down. Hubby and I will probably take over the upstairs (4 bedrooms and a bathroom) and I can cook the meals for my FIL. He eats like a sparrow and he will just eat what's put in front of him, so I really don't have to do any more cooking than I do now. There's 144 acres there and it's no longer a working farm. In fact we had the barn demolished a few years ago because it was in really bad shape.

We will keep the house we are in now because D still lives in half of it, and we'll probably come here on weekends now and then. The first thing hubby has to do is see if he can get a transfer at work to the location closest to the farm (about a 15 or 20 minute drive). Our plan is quite do-able and won't add extra work for me. FIL will keep the housekeeper that comes in once a week, so hubby and I will really only be responsible for keeping the upstairs tidy. Just think of all the wildlife I will be able to see there while sitting outside with my coffee!

The one thing we will have to see about is getting internet service down there. We are too far away from neighbours so we can't 'borrow' anyone else's signal like we do now.

Theresa, sounds like a good plan. With 4 bedrooms upstairs I can send the beastie boys to you for a week or so. Lets see, a week with Tricia, 2 weeks with Heidi and a week with you. That would give me a month without them. Anybody else want them for a few weeks??????

I was planning on cooking kebobs on the grill tonight, with sides of green beans and fresh blackberries. That plan has been changed. I just got a call that our Lions Club meeting has been changed to tonight at 6 pm. That's less than an hour and a half from now. I am not crazy about short notice like this. IH will be home from the plant right before it's time to leave. I would have preferred my menu to the one we're gonna have... probably fast food fried chicken. Oh well. The kebobs can wait until tomorrow.

Hi all.
I am feeling miserable with a cold that began 2 days ago. I now have 2 rostered days off and plan on just getting better.
It is still either raining or overcast here, making it OK to snuggle up on the lounge in the mink blanket.

Theresa...before you move, make sure you can get internet. It just wouldn't be the same without you.
Your hubby will be able to spend some time with his Dad.
Loved the joke.

June...I also remember having blackberries growing wild which were eventually killed off because of snakes. Brother & I would throw a piece of old corrugated iron over the thicket to walk on and then pick. I have a feeling they might be classed as an obnoxious weed here like prickly pear cactus but not sure.

Tami..you are funny! Those beasty boys must love your tom boy personality and sense of humor.

Julie.. hope you find some time to practice and that you don't end up sick also.

You have my sympathy, Nola. Colds are horrid things to go through.

Back from the Lions Club meeting. We did have the fast food fried chicken strips with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. NOT my favorite meal. I'm not a fan of fatty fast foods, anyways. Not my idea of healthy dining.

SAFE TRIP ROLANDA. It is always good to have an adventure, but also good to get back home

GAIL, THERESA, I also thought the hair washing line was perfectly funny hehehe.

Heidi, the cole slaw part of the dinner sounded good hehehe. In fact, I will have slaw with my dinner tonight. Mine is made with low fat dressing though. Didn't the mashed potatoes have gravy? did they pass up another way to introduce fat into the meal? what time is dinner tomorrow night? kabobs and blackberries sound wonderful.

NOLA, wish I had a piece of your courogated iron, I could have reached a lot more berries. what are still on the bush are drying out, no rain.

It seems that Debby did just opposite of what they first thought. first they said landfall in Texas, then it was going straight north into Alabama, now she has turned east going across northern Florida. looks like TAMI will have rain and more rain, and we will get none.

Theresa, hope the move to the farm works out as you plan. Your father in law would be getting a great deal, you to cook for him.

JUNE, how did you eradicate the blackberries? Nothing we have tried has worked, obviously.

Today was squishy day, and bone density test. this test today was totally different from what i had 3 years ago. they checked hips, back and wrist bones all. The technician said most of her patients complain about having to lie on their back for the 8 to 10 minutes, lots of arthritis out there.

Did a bit of grocery shopping 'while I was out'. Wal mart was out of several things i wanted, bummer. No strawberries in the 2 ound bag, and the smaller bag was up in price but downsized to 13 ounces instead of 16. they did not have my brand of breakfast sausage. No french or italian bread sticks. I only had 10 items on my list, and they were out of 3 of them?? Perhaps Monday is restocking day after high volume selling weekend???

I am off to forage for dinner. I have one more burger cooked, so a nice hamburger sandwich with a side of slaw and sliced fresh peaches for desert. hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

It did not rain by me today. The sky was gray all day, but no rain. I am at the southern end of Florida. Got some of the outer edge of Debby yesterday, but got lucky today.

I have a 3 day training class starting tomorrow so the beastie boys will have to fend for themselves. Luckily they know how to use the toaster over. Did I mention that my microwave over blew up today? I am now thinking of getting one that fits over the stove to save counter space.

Greetings, Everyone! It's after midnight here, so I'll just quickly read comments.

Gail, I keep wanting to hit the 'Like' button also!

Heidi, how unfortunate to go from needing to reinflate the tractor tire to having it come off and block your driveway! I hope the gallon of fresh wild blackberries helped to make up for it!

Since I have had both fresh, wild blackberries and those purchased in a grocery produce section, I must join several others in my preference for the wild blackberries. The blackberries found in a produce section may be bigger, but they are more bland!

To those being inundate with rain from Debbie, I'd also be willing to take some of the rain off your hands.

Nola, I hope your cold is soon better and you're able to enjoy the couple of days off work!

My apologies to all, but I'm falling asleep in the computer chair. Time to call it a night, me thinks! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, positive thoughts, healing vibes, and to all!

I think we must have had a touch of Debbie her today. Morning showers predicted but about 11am we had a deluge. The bowling green was just one sheet of water. End of bowls for the day and I was having a really great game.(not like last week when I could not do anything right!).
This afternoon I have had another injection in my thumb. The last one lasted 3 months but it has been aching for the last week. As it went in I thought of Heidi and the more it hurts the better the result. It hurt!!!

MizT, your meals sound nice. I am so pleased when I read that you still have some lovely meals even though you are living by yourself.
Heidi, still having tractor dramas
Your Lions club meal did not sound that enticing. I would join you for your home cooked one though.
Julie, hope you have been able to have some cello practice.
