Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Brenda, keeping your friend in my thoughts. We have not been affected by flooding. North Florida and the West coast have been hit harder. We have had a lot of rain, but not what they have had.

Good afternoon everyone.
Glad you got here 1st Tricia..save me dusting off my nurses cap..

Messed up big time today..had a terrible time parking and was late more my appointment. My request seems to have disappeared from my bag.. not a problem I thought.. Get another faxed over...no such luck. GP wasn't there. Made another appointment..

My hips have seized up today.. how could I have forgotten how bad the pain can get. Can hardly walk today. If there is no respite soon I am going to have to go back on analgesic patches.. couldn't cope with this intensity until warmer weather arrives..

Started writing this hours ago..s'pose I should hit submit.. forgotten what else I was going to say before I had a nap watched masterchef..

Evening all,
I am reading, and alternately laughing and worrying and feeling a bit sad.

So sorry to hear your friend has breast cancer. I hope the treatments are successful even with the delay in diagnosis.

Unfortunately self checks wouldn't help me as I'm full of cysts. (Though they are how I found my first cysts) I have a referral for an ultrasound to have some of them removed, but I've had it for a couple of months now and haven't done anything about it... I will one day. Maybe during school holidays... maybe.

Julie, I hope your lump goes away so you can continue to practice and play.

Tami, glad you are not being flooded!

Giggling here..lots of posts since I wrote the above post.

Brenda sorry to hear about your friend.. it is indeed a lesson for us all.
I have poycystic breasts.. it will always be hit and miss with me.. can't determine anything in my breasts and I used to examine breasts for a living.

I usually have the X-ray followed by an ultrasound if there is any doubt. The RMH Private has got an amazing machine.. was the only one in the southern hemisphere when they got it and the quality of the films needed to be seen to be believed. Having worked in medical imaging for 10 years and seen conventional breast screen I was very impressed. I'll get some figures from them next week when I go back.

The plates managed to compress & completely reduce a 'lump/cyst thingy' a few years back and it was no longer evident on ultrasound when they finished. Avoided a few very nasty procedures. I now ask them to apply maximum compression. The associated pain is preferable to that I experienced when I had a pre-malignant lesion removed a few years back.

OH WOW, BEAN, compression from the squishy machine ruptured the cysts? Now that had to be painful! but one low cost way to eliminate them I suppose. I need to get an appointment with a GYN doc, for a breast exam. I am not satisfied with what my primary care doc did for a breast exam last year, the first time he even bothered to do one! And me with a call back for a 'cone' exam and ultrasound every 6 months for over 2 years. I have never seen anyone except him try to do a breast exam with patient sitting up! I think there is a OB/GYN office closer to me than at hospital, I shold look today when I am out that way.

going to Joy's house to make dinner for us tonight. she is not as busy today at work, will be able to get off early enough we can eat and I can still get home before dark. she wants e to meet her kitty fore she grows up. While I am out, I plan to go on up to Aldi's for a few things Wal Mart did not have, like frozen whole berry strawberries, other frozen fruit, frozen salmon steaks, a few other things. Joy said I could use her fridge for a while hehehe.

OK, must run, I want to leave here in a couple hours, need to check the Aldi's online advertisement for what is on sale, get a shower, put an ice chest and frozen bottles of water into the back of vehicle for the cold foods, and get my reusable bags. forgot bags the last time I went, cause such stayed in back of the old auto. Aldi's does not furnish grocery sacks, you can purchase some if you forget.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. I will check in again when I get back home tonight.

So much for my plan to get up early and go for a drive. I slept until 1:30 PM!!!

I need to schedule a squishy thing exam. I haven't had one done in 3 or 4 years. Fortunately, there is no history of cancer anywhere in my family.

Wow, over 5 hours since the last post.
Brenda, sorry about your friend. Hope the treatment does the trick. Thanks for the advice.
Broni - nice to see you post, been wondering how the visit from your brother was going (emotional, not surprised).
My sister, brother and I, and our spouses, will be spending some of this weekend together, first at an antique fair, then dinner and staying the night at my bro's place. It will be emotional, I expect, talk always gets back to our parents.

Col got through his medical with flying colours - the doc asked him if he works out - Col said - no, but I work hard, why? Apparently his pulse rate is low which is usually only seen in people who work out.

Hi all. Been around but have not posted. Day two of workshop was fun. There have been some great speakers and I have a lot to think about this summer. The 3 days are based on learning to communicate with the students and learning to understand where they come from.

Brenda, thinking healing thoughts for your friend, and thank you for the reminder to BSE. I cop a feel most times that I shower. I have still to have a squishy thingy, as I have not yet hit 50, but I am religious about the downstairs check due to the med history of three of my sisters.

I had my first squishy thing when I was 40. I wish they'd figure out a test that doesn't hurt. If men had to have a test that hurt like this, they'd have made a change a long time ago.

I had a pleasant evening, so far. I gave IH a driving lesson on the UTV, and we went to the blackberry patch where we picked over a quart of blackberries. Then I let him drive back to the house (a half mile from the blackberry patch) and I started the grill while he fed mineral to the cows. I finally cooked up those kabobs on the grill, and served them with whole green beans and fresh blackberries. Soooooo good.

One of my goals for this summer is to get a squishy test. I have not had one yet. I do go for the 'downstairs' check, but I am a year late. That is another thing on my to do list for the summer.

Hi, Everyone! Just popping in for a quick look and a comment or two.

June, I love your TOPP for page 454! The TOPP for page 455 is also a good one!

Brenda, thanks for the reminder to do the self test and not just rely on the squishy thing! Thinking positive thoughts for your friend!

Broni, I hope you and your brother have enjoyed the time together!

Bean, thinking of you and sending support!

Nola, I hope all is well with you and your sister!

Cyn, enjoy your upcoming weekend with siblings and spouses! So glad to hear Col aced his medical exam!

I'm running on empty now, so need to get to bed. Movers arrived today at D and SIL's apartment with furniture. Other D and grandies, hubby and I spent the day at Navy Pier in Chicago (carnival-type rides, great children's museum, etc., then met other D and SIL at their apartment so the others could see it. Dinner, home and get kidlets to bed, as they and their Mom head home tomorrow (just before noon). No practicing done today, and left pinky is still sensitive. Lesson tomorrow after dropping those departing at the airport.

I apologize for brief comments and lack of response to some, as my concentration/memory are diminished by exhaustion. Healthy vibes, positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for everyone!

AGGGGGGGH, loud angry vent follows, pass on by if you choose, I will never know.

I am up and logged on here at 2 am because cannot sleep for the pain. Why is the price of doing things I need and want to do so very high? I just did a bit of grocery shopping at Aldis. It is a small store, so not a lot of walking, but you must sack your own groceries and no help carrying them to car. Then I drove back to Joy's house and together we made dinner. Home to bring in the groceries and put away only the cold things. Obviously my body was not happy with me doing this, although I did enjoy both the shopping and the time at Joy's house. I am just one big ball of pain tonight, meds have dulled it only a bit. Up for benadryl and to wait till time for another pain pill, hope that will put me to sleep.

tears of frustration and anger rolling down my cheeks. Why does doing such simple things have to be so hard?? Crying does not help, makes the pain worse. I think I will go out into the garden and eat worms.

Morning all.

Tricia {{{HUGS}}}

Busy day today. I have the grandies from 1:00 to 7:00 today. My SIL is usually off on Thursdays, but his office screwed up the schedule so he has to work. D is also working today. Hubby is home just after lunch, so I think we'll probably take them to a park. As long as there is shade, I'll be happy, because today is supposed to be a warm one. Then we'll take them out for supper. There is one place near our home that serves breakfast all day long and the girls love it.

((((( HUGS ))))), but gently, MizT. I know whereof you come. I've had a hard time getting to sleep the past 2 nights because of back pain shooting down my legs. I don't know why because the last epidural was only a few weeks ago. And I haven't missed any pain meds. ARRRRRGGH!!!

TAMI, yes, I have pain relief now, thank you muchly. I actually slept from 3 till 8 am, woke hurting and repeated meds, and went back to sleep till phone woke me. I have put away the remainder of the groceries, so doing OK this morning. Hadd a lovely breakfast of ham on half a Kaiser roll, cantaloup, and coffee, yummy. Must eat the cantaloup fore I go to sisters, I cannot take with, cause she is allergic, cannot have it in her house.

Off to sort out the freezer, take a few things to dome freezer, put my ice trays bak in freezer.

Hugs to each of you and thanks for the sympathy, It did help today.

The grandies other grandmother is looking after them this morning. I just saw her and she said they have been in horrible moods all morning. They didn't want to go swimming at the provincial park, they didn't want to go play at the local park, they didn't want to make cupcakes, they didn't want to do crafts. My job is cut out for me this afternoon. I have a feeling I am coming home with a massive headache this evening. Off I go ... wish me luck!!!!

I got such lovely bargains at aldis, I bought too much food because of it. Vadillia sweet onions at 69 cents for 2 pounds (a kilo?) Strawberries at 99 cents a pound, bought 3 pounds. We sliced and ate from one of them at dinner. I left the rest for Joy, she was happy about that. Just finished slicing the other 2 pounds and put in fridge. blueberries were 1.29 for a pint container, I had seen the smaller half pint at my grocery for over $4 ! To many other bargains to remember, but I got a LOT of very nice food for less than I expected.

Wish we had an Aldi's here.

So far so good with the girls. I think they are both very tired. Hubby and I are going to take them out for supper. A few things are broken in their home now, I had to ask the oldest grandie to get off the phone after she was on it for an hour, just some minor stuff. I am so tired ... I should have had a nap this morning.

The dogs are very happy now. I got them their favorite food (Beneful), which they get only as a treat, because it costs a lot more than (double) their regular food. I poured out 40 lbs of it, and it'll be gone by noon tomorrow. They normally go through 20 lbs a day of their regular food..

I hope their parents really punish them for acting like such brats for you AND for their other Grandmother. It's inexcusable for children of their ages.

My Budgies are ecstatic. I just gave them a handful of wild blackberries. They're having a feeding frenzy. Tonight after dark, I plan on taking a few corn stalks from the neighbor's field for the lovebirds They love young cornstalks, but won't eat fresh berries.

IH just called me from the plant. He's going to spend the night there instead of coming home tonight. I feel like I get a gift vacation.
