Hi all. Enjoying a rainy day here in South Florida. So far Isaac is not causing to many problems, just restlessness and boredom. My boys will fight over anything.

LOL....Tami...your comment just underscored the truth in Heidi's great Topp.
Great day here...but expecting the rain will soon be here...oh well, into each life some rain must fall.
Hey Bean...I read that you still have a plan B in the works for the near future in crossing the pond...sure hope its soon so I can still be counted as one of the wild and crazy, rather than just crazy folks you know....♥
Did I say hello to the rest of you...but of course I did....take care...know that I care.

Mamacita, my husband is included in the comment 'my boys will fight about anything.' I am not sure which of my boys is giving me the most grey hair. The only boy that behaves is the 4-legged furry one

Tami, we are seeing hurricane warnings for the Gulf Coast. Did you say one time that you live on the other coast of Florida? Can't help but worry about you, kiddo.

Just remember, as my grandies are always saying, girls rule, boys drool.

Greetings friends, Theresa, Miami is on the Atlantic side of Florida. Isac is such a huge storm that the bands of rain are hitting them there on the east coast even. He is forecast to make landfall on the Florida panhandle, that westward thrust of Florida that runs under Georgia and Alabama. By the time it gets inland to me it will be back to a tropical storm or depression. I am hoping it goes ashore as far east as they are saying. It will put us on the 'good' side of the storm, not the side that spawns tornadoes.

A day of resting today, not a lot going on. I did some cooking, made about 5 burgers for lunch, and have mixed a meatloaf and a squash casserole. I will bake them tonight when the temp is milder.

Yesterday evening Joy came and put Al's computer on my desk, with my monitor and keyboard. YEAH, I can read, and type and sit in my comfy chair. she wants this puter, it is a gaming machine, with a 'wicked' video card and sound. So she is going to take parts of 2 computers she has, and build me one with my harddrive and video card in it, and swap with me. she plays games, the kind with a lot of graphics, and could use this one. Fine with me, I just need a machine to get me to the internet where all my friends are!!

Theresa, hope the feet and better soon.Take care

Tami, glad at least one of your boys behaves himself. Too too bad you get an extra day away from school. Hope there is no flooding near you from all the rain.

Mama, glad you are having a good day. Do share the birthday party with us, it sounds such fun.

OK, that is this page, I need to check out tropical storm Isac, and see where best guess is tonight. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Thanks for the info about Isaac, MizT.

My feet were much better today, with only burning really, and a few pins and needles, but no severe pain. The difference between today and other days is I did not wear shoes today. When I had plantar fasciitis last time, I was told never to go barefoot, but only wear shoes with good arch support.

Now to get the chores done for the day. I had a 3 hour nap today to make up for last night I guess. I spent most of the night with my feet hanging off the foot of the bed so they weren't touching anything. It confused the heck out of the cats, but it doesn't take much to do that.

Theresa...you are funny..my momn use to always say that humor made every thing a little lighter...glad to hear the feet aren't as troublesome and painful as before.
MizT, you and others mentioned cameras too late. I don't do much camera wise cause somebody else is always taking pictures...my neice was making movies and others were taking pictures but I never thought about it. btw...the cake was a bear face...so cute..I will ask, but as slow as these folks are with pictures all I can say is don't hold your breath. Sorry.

I have been in contact with Nola. Judy is home but very weak. She does have a friend staying with her.
Renea's twins are 5 today and they had a party yesterday.
Nola asked me to let you all know as she is just finding it too hard at the moment. She does appreciate all our support. Big hugs to both Nola and Judy.

MizT, glad you have a comfortable computer set up now. You are so prepared with your meals! A squash casserole? That sounds interesting, but nobody else in my family will eat squash... I am logged into 2 places at once. I don't log off here or on my phone.

Theresa, I'm glad your feet are better today. I hope the docs can help you tomorrow (I just had to check what day it is where you are and it's very very early Monday morning..)

Mamacita, so pleased to 'see' you sounding so cheerful. I am so happy you are back with us.

Alie is rehearsing Listen by Beyonce, If I were a boy, also Beyonce and I have nothing, Whitney Houston. She's better hurry up, there's less than a month to go!

I worked today. I had 5 not good classes, but no really bad ones.

I just made a wonderful discovery today thanks to Mr Google. All you good cooks probably already know this, but I didn't.
I was cooking Chilli beef and beans for dinner tonight for Andrew and Em. I burnt it, didn't I? My attempts at salvaging it weren't working, the whole house smelt of it. In desperation, I googled 'how to save burnt chilli'. The general consensus of opinion was, add a big spoon of peanut butter, mix well and - Voila! It worked. The others said it was the best I'd ever made.
Who knew?? Probably everyone but me, haha.

Had a good long chat with Emily about camp and she just loved, loved, loved it. As it was a farm camp she got to see and help with the animals (cows, horses, a pig and chickens), as well as rock-climbing, fishing and archery, where she got a bulls-eye!
I asked who she shared a tent with and she said 'Ashley'. I asked if they had got on well or not - and she said they giggled and laughed and talked at night until they were told to go to sleep.
Whew, that's preferable to her having no friends.

Cyn, I am sure the album will be appreciated. A lot of work but well worth it.
Suzy, pleased you are getting quite a bit of work. I know it tends to dry up next term when the year 12's leave and some of the funding for casuals runs out (I know Belinda's school has used all their allowance)
we have been to a combined (about 8 schools)Primary school concert tonight. Laura was taking part. Some of the items put on by the older pupils (up to 12 years of age) almost compared to the Rock Eisteddfod for High schools we went to last week. Some of the music tonight was enough to start the body vibrating, but not quite as loud as last week.
I have videoed it on my camera. Just have to work out how to convert it to disc (not much available space on my computer)
Playing bowls tomorrow. First round of the minor singles competition.

CynB... I am delighted for Emily. It sounds like she had the best time of her life.

I'm leaving with Chaka in half an hour, and bringing back Jack. I haven't told IH about Jack, but since he isn't shaved, I don't think IH will notice for a while.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

All is well here. We are just getting the outer feed bands of Isaac. It went a little further West so it did not affect us too much. Didn't even bother putting up the shutters. No flooding/damage near me. Just some debris, branches and stuff like that.

Theresa, I am located near Ft. Lauderdale, on the East coast.

Thanks for Nola's update June.
As mentioned by all of you, It's so hard watching friends as they see their loved ones suffering in front of them...words spoken try to cushion the inevitible, yet we know its something that only time will end.
However, memories will recall the soft words and for those who believe, God will hear our prayers and walk with the family and friends as the transition is made....only when the suffering person is peacefully in his arms will the healing begin...Nola, the Dove of peace will lead you and Judy through this rough period...hang in there!♥

Cyn....I'm so happy to hear that Emily had a great time at camp...this opens a whole new world for her.
June good luck in the new bowls season.
Heidi...you do good work...happy that Jack has landed at your loving home, or will soon.
Suzy... glad you are working and not having too bad a time of it...when your permanet placing comes, you will be greatly experienced and well prepared for come what may.
If I haven't said it recently, its not because I haven't thought it...It's wonderful knowing folks like those who are on this site. Have a great day/night. Peace.

I'm back here with Jack. He's already fitting in better than Chaka did. He's an attractive light sable and white rough collie and very sweet, though afraid of people.
Mama.... I don't look at it as doing good work. It's not work. It's a labor of love. They give me unconditional love.

I am freaking out. I can't find Jack anywhere. Either he's found a hiding place I know nothing about, or he's jumped the fence and run away. I've been driving around looking for him and can't find hide nor hair of him. This has never happened to me before. Thank the gods he's microchipped.

I talked at length to the head of our Rescue group. He's been with her for a year and a half and never challenged a fence. She's even let him run loose (she's a mile off the road) and he's always stayed around. I have searched and searched for him with no luck. I have even alerted our dog warden. I have no idea where he is. This is such a rural area that he could be long gone and far away by now. I don't know what else to do. I'm just sick over this.

Jack has vanished. The only hope is that somehow someone somewhere catches him and turns him in to a shelter where his microchip will be scanned. I spent hours driving around looking for him today.
