NyQuil! I miss NyQuil! No matter how bad the cold, a dose of NyQuil and I slept all night!! I've only seen it once here and it was gone in a heart beat...

Julie, now I want to know why you aren't here! Your wonderful posts talking to each of us would be missed, but a quick visit where you could read our posts and let us know what you are up to - keeping in touch I mean - would be just as welcome!!

Hugs to Nola and Judy. I am sending wishes that this is her last fall (until she is climbing things for fun anyway)...

Gail, I'm so glad Chloe got the parcel and was happy with it. After all the thought that went into it I would be surprised if she didn't love it!!

Bean, congrats on getting the guest room a long way toward ready... that must take a load off your mind.

Heidi, want to mow my lawn? It's getting very long. Our push mower is broken and the ride on hasn't been bought yet...

Alie was just telling me that her throat was sore and had been for 2 weeks. I've asked her at least 3 times in those 2 weeks if it was sore because I wondered if she had completely cleared the tonsilitis. (Does that have one 'l' or 2, Aussies only as the US often has double letters when we have singles)

Not 30 seconds after I said I was going to take her to get it checked again I hear her singing, and not just any singing, Whitney Houston! Hubby and I laughed and gave her a hard time 'How are we supposed to make you stop singing??'

2 new kitchen photos added...closer and closer to finished! The floor layer should be here Monday week, so I have to get everything in the kitchen finished before then. Still have new wood to be undercoated and sanded, more cupboards to be first coated, holes to fill, resand the whole kitchen and give it all a second coat including the kickboards...pfft! easy!

Laura, who has had a cold for the last couple of weeks (That is where I got mine) woke up this morning saying she had a sore throat etc. I told her she could not go to the party if she was sick. It was amazing how she made sure she would get better. She did go and had a good time. Although she does have a quiet time at these parties when it is I miss my Mum.(Other Mothers are there). She seems better tonight. I just wish I could stop coughing. I do not feel too bad otherwise.

Like the progress on the kitchen Gail.
Tell Alie she needs to take care of her throat if she wants to make singing her career.
Laura was reading the last page with me (intrigued why Bean called herself that and not her real name)but did not want me to post to turn the page! Laura knows Heidi has the animals and just came in, saw Suzie's name and told me Suzy came to the last Sudoku party. Laura wants me to tell you that at midnight it starts 'Father's Day'.

Isn't it a great feeling to be hubby free for a few days, VViv? You can feel the stress levels just melt away. IH is here this morning and decided to be helpful. He asked me if there were any farm chores that he could do.... if they were quick, easy and ran no chances of getting him dirty. I think he ruled out the lot.

Back to bed. I was sleeping soundly and IH broke into his favorite song again.... The Battle Hymn of the Republic. I have yet to find a way to sleep through that. Then Jack wanted to go outside. He's now at the point where I have to stand outside while he does his job, then we both go inside together. I haven't tried to teach him how to use the dog door yet since new things scare him. It's a dark, overcast day, and slow-moving Isaac is getting nearer. Good day to stay inside and sleep.

Bean, I haven't gone for a complete battery of tests yet. I might have to pick your and MizT's brain before I get it all straightened out. I am eating sooooo healthy, so I'm thinking my portions are still too big. I don't eat sweets, desserts, red meat. I WOULD ALMOST KILL FOR A CHOCOLATE BAR! I eat a lot of veggies and some fruit, a bit of chicken for protein. When I really have to have something sweet, I do have an orange ... I can't help myself!

Of course, I should be walking more, but with my feet the way they are it's difficult. Some day all this will hopefully be straightened out.

Thanks for all your help, people.

I just had something nice happen. A neighbor just called and gave me an adorable mini donkey jack. PJ is mostly white with a few brown spots, is broke to drive and small children can ride him. He's a real sweetheart. You know I'm gonna have to get him a girlfriend or 2. And get a cart and harness for him.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads in Oz today.
With hubby away I am celebrating by myself by going to my favourite coffee shop, which is not Cafe 66 anymore. The one I go to now is called FIG. It overlooks the Town Green and the river. It is really lovely there. They have a special roast lunch today so I am going for coffee and crosswords with John and then I am staying for the lunch. John isn't.

Hi all. Had a nice, relaxing Saturday. Went to fill up the freezer with all the good stuff the boys like to eat. Found a few packs of filet mignon on sale so we had a really delicious dinner. Grilled filet mignon, roasted potates, grilled peppers and mushrooms and garlic bread. A nice treat. Also went to the mall with all 3 boys and none of them complained. I got a new pair of pants, hubby and Dylan got NY Giants t-shirts, Dylan got a NY Giants hat and we bought both boys mini-umbrellas for their backpacks. A successful trip and all on sale

We are getting up early tomorrow and heading to the beach. We will be there by 9:00 am to get a spot. It is only about a 15 minute drive. I will take pictures and try to post. If any of the Aussies want a peek just google Ft. Lauderdale beach.

Good afternoon folks.
Today the weather is truly glorious in Melbourne.. and our poor visitors flight was delayed. Not sure who she is flying with but didn't make the connecting flight and had an unplayed sleepover in LA.. Fingers crossed that Melbourne will turn it on for her tomorrow as well.. Lachie is going to go to Petes from work to catch a few hours sleep before they go to the airport. So glad he will be doing the pick up.. cross city traffic during peak hour is not my idea of fun..

June tell Laura that my siblings started calling me 'Bean' when I was a little tot.. not because I resembled a jelly bean but because it rhymed with my second name.. became R*** Jean the human bean [being..].. and it stuck.. I can't remember certain siblings EVER calling me anything else.. even to this day so it was fitting that my 'other' family should use the family nick name..

A quick update re my knee. On June 13th had a total new left knee operation. Got to a certain point and could not move the knee more than 70deg. Went to specialist who did it and had an xray and looks like a little bone spur in the way. Now have to return to specialist on 10th Sept. after another xray. He then booking me into hospital, overnight stay and have to go under general anaesthetic. He is not cutting it open, it is called Closed Manipulation. I do not really understand where the bone is going to go. I have more questions to ask him on the 10th that is for sure. My G.P. says a bone spur cannot grow in 6 weeks but the specialist says it was not there when he operated on me. ?????

Have you asked your GP (who I think has sense... he's right about that bone spur) about a referral to a Pain Management Clinic, VViv? They work wonders for me.

All of the birds have fresh seed mixes, according to their species. I have a special finch mix, a canary mix, a budgie/parakeet mix and a mix for small hook bills that contains chopped nuts, dried fruits and dried veggies besides vitamins, minerals and 20 kinds of seeds.

We had the dinner in the sunroom and it was so lovely sitting there. Dessert was strawberries marinated in orange juice, grand marnier and a bit of strawberry concentrate to add some sweetness and topped with some cream. Something easy!
All quiet now they have gone home. Belinda arrived with three loads of washing (some was the boys softball uniforms from when she took the team away.Belinda is on tank water and we have not had any rain for quite a few weeks. Then she picked oranges with Laura to make fresh juice....mess in the kitchen. Then found out the juice was not very sweet. Belinda brought the two small dogs who both needed a bath.....in my bath!!!
I am still coughing, my back is aching, I have to go to the bowling club at 6pm to set up tables as we have a big 'ladies day' tomorrow and then cut the vegetables for the pasta salad I am making for lunch tomorrow (80 people).
I will play two games tomorrow and Tuesday is the next round of the minor singles championship.
I may not be around very much.
Sorry I should have divided that into several posts as I know how Heidi enjoys getting certain numbers.
