Tomorrow I will be in Tasmania so that means that I have lots of things to do today including pack the bags. Hubby and James have gone off to finish building a retaining wall at the new church, Shaun has gone to work and I'm left to sort out the house.
Sorry to swear but today I have to get the laundry up to date, vacuum the floors, pack the bags and probably iron clothes to go in them, clean the kitchen etc etc etc. I'm sure you get the picture.
Kevin and I are really looking forward to the break. 2 whole weeks of just us - no demands on our time and just pottering around looking at new things.
I'm only sorry it has coincided with Mo's visit. I'd have loved to meet her. Cyn and I could have travelled together from Brissie. Oh well, maybe next time.
So. my holiday. We start with 4 nights in Hobart, then on to Port Arthur and the east coast. The following weekend we will be in Launceston and then touring the north coast followed by a trip to Strahan (on the west coast) and back to Hobart the night before we fly out. 2 weeks of tripping around and sight seeing.
I must get off my fat behind and get this day underway. See you all in a few weeks!

Vickl, have a fantastic time! I wish you light suitcases, nice weather and fantastic service wherever you go...

The weather really sucks here today. Poor Alie having to go to school in it. Power lines are down on the other side of the river so that other high school I sometimes teach at is closed today...

Rolanda, did you notice one of our new members calls themself Dutchozzie??

Heidi, that is great news! Now you just have to make sure you don't do anything silly and you might get to be pain free right up until your next shot is due... yeah right. A calf is going to get stuck in the mud or something...

Hi all. Had a good day at school.

Hubby was a good boy. He made sure that 'the woman' knew that he was happily married and has been for almost 19 years. The other women were impressed and said that I was lucky and he was a keeper. I agree, most of the time

Off to bed early again. I'm being super careful with my back so I don't undo this epidural. With any luck, it'll last a long time. My reaction to it this time was the most dramatic ever.

All the best Heidi - look after yourself. Gasil - your photos are really great - you have done a wonderful job. Chloe will certainly notice the difference in weather to Darwin. Vicki - if you can, try to go to Bruny Island - just off Hobart. Really beautfiul place. Haven't been able to get to this page for a while - learning my dialysis machine and unfortunately not going too well on it. Crossing fingers it improves as doing manuals will be really difficult to manage with work. Wishes to all.

Good Evening, Friends! I have done some quick scanning of comments to try to get caught up.

Nola, sending and {{HUGS}} to you and Judy! It's good to know that Judy has a positive attitude and is willing to try alternative methods. All the best to both of you!

Heidi, I'm so glad to hear that you had such a horrible reaction to your epidural. I hope it lasts a long time!

Suzy, I am in shock over your electric bill! I hope the company will let you go on a payment plan and don't expect the full amount at once. Is it possible that the meter was read incorrectly? Has someone been tapping into your supply illegally?

Midge, good luck as you learn to deal with your dialysis machine!

Vicki, have a wonderful holiday!

Gail, thanks for sharing pictures! How wonderful that Chloe will be home for a few days!

Theresa, I'm glad you have had some days with less pain from your feet!

MizT, I hope you're having a wonderful visit with your friends!

I'm so sorry, but that is all I remember as I begin to drift off into slip. I have thought of everyone and even mentally composed comments as I read. Oh, if only we could send our comments mentally!

Sending positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for Everyone!

Heidi, pleased to hear it! Are you planning on looking for someone to replace Robert?

Midge, do you have someone to help you with your dialysis? We learnt a tiny little bit about it with Gail and it sounds daunting! Sending thoughts and wishes that you sort it all out, quickly!

Gail, would it be the treatments running up your electricity bill? Or just your ginormous house? How wonderful that you will have another house guest! I hope she appreciates how hard you have worked...

Julie, they probably would let us pay it off in payments, but if we do that then the next bill will be upon us before we're done...

It was good to see you had a little time to spend with us tonight, though I suspect it cost you sleep! How is the puppy?

Dana's you beaut thermometer - you just point it at your head and push the button - yeah, I know we all made do with the old fashioned kind but kids these days and the latest technology.. - I digress, it says we all have fevers.. please NO. It must be broken, right?

We are slightly subsidized in regards to the electricity and water usage of the dialysis treatment, so the answer is no, it is not due to the treatment, but yes, it is due to the size and technology usage in this house. The only rooms not to have computers are the toilets (joke) but the only heating we have in the bedrooms are electric heaters, which literally burn $$$.

I'm not going to tell you what my electric bill is. Our house is fully heated and cooled with electricity, and the fence around the farm is powered by a high voltage electric fence charger. There are at least 5 miles of hot wire. I will hint that the bill is MUCH lower than any of yours. But we belong to an electric co-op, which really brings down the charges, so to speak.

Heidi can you also claim the electric charges on your tax claims as it is used as part of the everyday running of the farm?

I'm not planning on replacing Robert. At least not until next summer at the earliest. The farm work here in the winter consists primarily of feeding cows, which I do. Late winter, early spring is when calving starts. Robert was useless for that anyways. And I think my back needs me to slow down with the projects or pay professionals to do them instead.

I lept late again, so I need to get dressed and find out what IH is up to with the calves. He kept back the 4 wormiest calves to repeatedly collect poop from them, but I told him that they HAVE to go back to their mother's today. They're not starving... they have plenty of hay and grain, but they're not quite ready to wean yet.

Well, IH wanted to keep those calves in indefinitely, so he could keep collecting poop. He's now been informed that no matter what he wants, I will be returning them to their mothers at 5 pm today.

In a little while, I'll be picking up a friend and she'll be spending the afternoon with me here. She adores the dogs and the insanity here (she and her son lived with us for 9 months several years ago). I'm hoping to ask her to do some house sitting/ pet sitting for me over Thanksgiving and when I go to NC to visit Maxine and baby Holly. Debby is one of the few people I trust completely with all my critters. I know she can't handle the horses or cattle, but they can fend for themselves for a few days. I'd feel more comfortable knowing she's taking care of my critters, even if IH is in town. And he will love not having the responsibility.

Hi All,
It's good to read the mostly good news on this page...hope it can stay that way for most of us if not all.
Vicky have a great trip and stay safe.
Midge, dialysis sucks big time...hope yours goes more smoothly soon.
Nola and Judy...Hugs to help you maintain the love and support.
Heidi...so good to hear that you are thinking of getting help with the labor intensive farm chores when time comes....your back has finally made sure you listen more closely to it....we want you around w/o so much pain. Hope your friend will be able to house sit while you are away...It helps to have someone trustworthy to allay the worry that comes with leaving the animals with just Gil to care for them. BTW, I like the autumn leaves as your avatar..Also remembering to thank you and others who liked my avatar and I had failed to acknowledge before...sorry to be late.
Suzy...loved the way you changed your day with positive thoughts...especially playing with the baby...hope your weather improves for all who are affected by the unseasonable changes going on...some of the FB pictures and descriptions were
scary.
Take care all...Know that I care. Peace♥

Gooday all.

Midge...hope you soon manage the machine. Lovely to see you again!

Hi there Mamacita...your well wishes for Judy are such a support. Thanks to everyone here for the continued well wishes.

Victoria...I have probably missed you by now but have a fantastic time in Tazzy.I think they missed the worst of the weather in other eastern states.

Heidi..it must be a relief to be pain free.Great news! It was interesting to read about the work IH does. Hope Debbie can give you peace of mind, by looking after the animals when you go away.

Gail...another exciting gathering. How long has Chloe been gone now?

Suzy..modern technology alright. Yesterday, I couldn't even work out a new BGL tester,so I had to use the old one. I am hopeless with written instructions too.( Not that I had any). I need to be shown how things work. I also had to record stuff from a syringe driver with all these buttons. OMG.

Brenda... what is happening in your life lately?

I should start at the Dr Surgery Nov 7th.
Appointments are made for me to do assessments on the elderly, 30 min. prior to their Dr appointment. I enter data so that the Dr can just read information I gathered. The hard part will be navigating the different sections but I will have someone with me to begin with. It will be interesting learning to send referrals to Blue Care, ACAT etc. I am excited.

I saw Judy after work yesterday. Having a down day but this is to be expected.Today will be better!

We had a violent storm but missed the worst of it.
Some places had the coldest temps on record for this time of year, with snow!

Sonny is getting around the house without crying when he gets lost and also sleeping without howling during the night. The 1st few nights were liking having a baby who wouldn't sleep. They must miss the warmth of other puppies to cuddle into.
OK, go and do some puzzles and see you again soon.

Morning all,
Heidi, I like the idea of hiring professionals. It would probably end up cheaper overall too. I hope Debby agrees to house sit for you. That would be far more comforting than knowing they were in Gil's careless hands...

Gail, I dread to think of the arguments we would have if we went back to one computer!

Brenda, I have found laptops sitting on tables beside our bathtub too! What happened to reading a book???

Nola, it sounds like you had fun in the doctor's office. I like to be shown how things work too, but I also like some written instructions for when I forget what I've been shown! I hope you are giving adequate training before they throw you in the deep end, and I hope it continues to be fun!

I'm glad Sonny is settling down and letting you sleep.

Wishing Judy a better day today, and tomorrow, and after that too!

Mamacita and Brenda have done a Julie and not told us anything about what they are up to! Big hugs!!.

nothing too exciting is happening in my life at the moment, but I am pleased to say that hubby and I are having another short break away from home in a couple of weeks time. We are heading off to Breda in the Netherlands for a three night break.
