IH called yesterday and said that he wouldn't be back until Friday morning instead of tonight. So what happened? He walked in the door a half hour ago and asked for supper. He got to make himself a frozen pot pie.

Heidi: That is EXACTLY what I would do to Darrell. We had 'fend for yourself night'. We had lunch at Golden Corral (buffet style restaurant). I had leftover chicken noodle soup (Lipton). I have NEVER made good chicken/turkey soup. Would appreciate a recipe if anyone has one.

Heidi.. no point moving anything Big yet.. other than the fact it would be too heavy for me to help cart!
The main Floor Tiles are still to be laid and the Carpet after that.. The Floor Tiler is not starting till 12th Nov.
and Peter has some more Cupboard work to be done.. Office Desks/Drawers after the Floor Tiles are laid..
The Store room will need shelving..
However, I will start on moving stuff over that can go on shelves and drawers that I do not need at the Rental.
Instead of boxing it.. I will load it in the car and unload it at the House.

The Air Conditioner is being installed this Wednesday.

Tomorrow we finish unrolling the woven wire, stretching it, and getting it up in place. Then I'm done with my part of the job (except drilling new holes to hang gates from). Then the guys get all the fun of attaching the wire to each T-post, and running a strand of barbed wire on top of the fence to keep cows from pushing it down.

Good luck with the move Rolanda - I hate to think of what I will have to pack up after 40 years at the same house! Cyn B - we are putting on a good weather weekend for you - enjoy your time in Melb.- it is a great city. Suzy - I did the same thing with one of my sons, didn't help him pack and clean his room when he first moved out. Result was he never completed it and has since moved back with more junk!! We have a hard waste collection next week - looking forward to it. Heidi - so glad to hear your back is going o.k. How are your beautiful collies and boxer? Gail - what a busy time you have had the past weeks with renovating, family get-together, Chloe's return and now Sudoku friends - you will not know what to do next week when it is all quiet again. MizT - please keep us updated on your new 'job' - it sounds so satisfying to be able to help others.

Good Evening, Friends! Hooray; it's not yet midnight! Tomorrow and Saturday morning we probably need to be up by 6:30. Hubby and another of our wood turning club members will be demonstrating all day at a tool and wood store about 45 minutes away from here. I'll be there to hand out information and answer questions about our club, and maybe get some new members. That means any cello practicing will need to wait until evening.

Birthday greetings to Mr. Suzy!

Happy Anniversary to June and Ken. Good for you for planning ahead for a trip to Turkey and Greece next year! Have a wonderful time planning and anticipating the trip! I assume you also buy trip insurance.

Here's hoping all who will plan to meet over the weekend have a wonderful time!

MizT, I hope you will soon be feeling better! How awful that the orange bag with so many important contents has gone missing. Unfortunately, you may be correct in your assessment of the situation. By the way, the 82-84 degrees feels warm in comparison to the air temperature. Warmer would be better for my back, knees and hips. However, it's a swimming pool, so the swimmers influence the temperature. Indoors there's a hot tub (just over 100 degrees), a sauna (dry heat) and a steam room.

Tami, it's good to see you when you have the time. I never played games on fb, but I still spend too much time there and here just trying to stay caught up.

Heidi, I'm glad you and your tractor work well together! I'm sure it's a great help to the workmen, and helps reduce the amount of money you owe them for their work. (I'm guessing you pay for the work that gets done, rather than IH.)

Cyn, have a wonderful time visiting the others in Melbourne! I hope your remembered to pack a camera!

Suzy, I hope the packing and moving don't become an issue between family members. I guess she'll just need to figure it out, but I suspect that will mean more babysitting for you.

Theresa, I hope your shoulders and feet don't keep you awake tonight! It's good to hear about the continuing progress on the blanket/throw. I also hope that 120 squares is a pretty accurate estimate, which would mean you're about half finished.

Up early... for me... and getting ready to get back to work on the fence. My part requires nothing except sitting in the tractor so it's not too hard. IH just took off to the plant for the day so won't be underfoot.

I have been unusually sleepy lately. It reminds me a bit of the Mono, or the lingering Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which I suspect it is. I was hoping it was getting steadily better, but I want to sleep all the time right now. If I lay down for a short rest, I sleep at least 5 hours. Not much is getting done right now.

Morning all.

Rainy day here and I feel sleepy. Yawn ....

I have been getting wrong numbers this morning for our local hospital. I have called them so often in the past few months, I know their number by heart, so I've been passing it on to the callers. If this keeps up they should pay me a salary for an answering service.

Last night I got a phone call from someone with a very heavy Pakistani or Indian accent. Said he was with the Windows group and that my computer had some malware installed on it. He wanted me to turn the computer on and he would help me get rid of it. I might have been born at night, but it wasn't last night. I hung up.

Heidi, I am always more tired at this time of year. Once the cool weather starts, I just want to crawl under the covers and nap. A couple of times in the last 2 weeks my naps were 4 hours long ... I thought of you when I woke up. Even if I have a nap, it doesn't seem to interfere with my sleep at night (at least most times).

Hello All, Rainy but mild day today...so nice to sit and watch the rain and not have to go out in it unless I just want to go dancing like Fred Astaire, and I don't think I'll do that today...Reading, and computer and then more reading will about do it for now... Hope its dry next Thursday though...have been dreaming about fires and quickly called the man to come clean out my duck works since they hadn't been done in several years... I am afraid of house fires and try to be careful about things like that.
Suzy, hope the moving went well and Dana is now ensconced in her new home. Rola, I know your excitement builds as your move in date grows
closer.
Theresa, Nola and MizT..hope you are all feeling some better if not yet on top of the world..fingers crossed that all who are not feeling their best will soon find themselves painfree for longer and longer periods. Heidi...you have been through a lot fighting pain for so long that your body needs more rest while its relatively free of pain to just keep going. Julie you didn't mention how your back was so I'm hoping you are doing better...Okay..Tried to remember all that I wanted comment on but know I'm missing something...Have fun to all meeting up and lift a glass or two or three for those of us who would love to be counted in the number of meet-ups..
Take care all...I care...Peace.

It's raining here now, too. We had to finish the last hour of work on the fence in the rain, but it's done. After we stretched the woven wire with the tractor and got it tacked up, I went and got a roll of barbed wire, then re-hung the gates to that pasture (I had to drill new holes and install new hinges) while the men attached the wire to the metal posts with steel clips, then stretched the barbed wire over the top of the woven wire fence. This way the cows won't lean on the top of the fence and push it down. I just have to finish bush hogging that field, then the cattle can go back there.

Morning all,
Theresa, I have finished only 8 squares, no ends sewn in. I have cheated though and made each square all one colour. They don't look like real granny squares, but I knew I'd hate the sewing in bit so cheated a bit. I did some quick math using my trusty calculator and I think 120 will do it, unless he has a really big bed!

Heidi, cook your own dinner night is popular in our house!

Midge, once she's got the majority of the stuff packed up, I'll be cleaning up, tossing, and taking the last of her stuff to her. Alie wants to move into that room so I need to make it presentable... There is a chance that things won't work out for Dana and she'll want to move home, but we'll give Alie a chance in the room in the meantime. It's really the only place big enough for a mum and baby.

Rolanda, it's getting very close!

Suzanne, hubby and I try to avoid shopping together if we can possibly avoid it! We spend way more money together than we do separately!

Happy Birthday Beth!!

Gail, I hope you and hubby are having a great time! The view from your room is amazing!

Theresa, it was in the news here that they had 'broken' those groups with the fake calls about viruses. Guess they only thought they did! Do you have your expensive shoes yet? They have really helped hubby. At least he claims they have.

Mamacita, I might go and read a bit before I have to take Alie to her friend's house. I'm still reading Jane Austin for now.. I agree, fires are very scary!

Suzy, I do have my new runners - Merrell brand on sale for $135. They are really comfortable and offer a lot of support. The orthotics are pretty well permanently in those shoes. My feet do hurt a lot more if I'm not wearing them, so I wear them from morning to night (except in the shower).

The way I crochet the squares together, it adds at least an inch to an inch and a half between squares. When I made MIL's it was for a single bed and I needed 88 squares (8 by 11). In my opinion it could have used another square lengthwise, so 8 by 12. I am assuming a double bed will take at least two more squares either side, so 10 by 12. I did not start putting them together yet, but will start this weekend. Once I do one strip width-wise, I will know for sure.

Hubby's sister sent an email saying that FIL no longer wants to move downstairs. Well, guess what, he doesn't have a choice. He can no longer do stairs. We are paying for the renovations to be done to the bathroom downstairs, and for a wheelchair ramp, and then we will try to get our money back from the Veterans group. This has been going on since June and has to stop. The Veterans group has okayed the plan for us to pay up front, as long as we don't go over the estimate. It will be a good long time before we see that money again I am guessing.

Off to have some supper ........

Theresa, I'm glad they are helping! Hubby doesn't have orthotics - in fact he won't go to the doc about his feet at all! He is regretting going to the eye doc since he didn't get a definitive answer! He tried to say that I didn't when I had problems but I was able to tell him that I had and that I had been on more frequent checks since! His seem to be getting worse instead of better so I don't think I'll have to nag him about going for his recheck next Friday...

He has taken Alie to her friend's house, it is about 30 minutes from here. I think she is coming back with Alie so I had better get stuck into undoing some of Dana's disaster area before she gets here...

I cried when Dana left yesterday and told her I'd have to think of the mess and the electricity bills to cheer myself up...

Hi all.

Suzanne, one drink is enough if you use a big enough glass.

Mommy rant: Mitchell had a friend come over after school. A really nice boy so I don't mind. At 5 one of my friends called to ask if Mitchell did his homework for driver's ed which is due tomorrow. Her son is in the same class. I called Mitchell downstairs and his reply was 'oh, sh**! It is now almost 9 pm and friend is still here. Mitchell still has to shower and do his homework. His class is at 8 am so he can't do it in the morning.

Good news:

8 Ontario girls arrested in high school bullying case
CBC – 12 hours ago.

Eight teenage girls at a high school in London, Ont., have been arrested in connection with a bullying incident involving another student, police say.

The London Police Service said an investigation has revealed that the student had been the target of physical and emotional bullying, and cyberbullying.

The arrested girls face charges of criminal harassment.

Police said information about the bullying came from individuals who came forward in person and through an anonymous reporting web portal, called 'South Cares,' which is on the London South Collegiate website.

Bill Tucker, director of education at Thames Valley District School Board, said they had 70,000 community members take a pledge last year to end bullying.

'We know that the research says if an individual intervenes in bullying behaviour, we can stop bullying behaviour within seconds ...in 50 per cent of cases,' he said.

Tucker added that school boards know they need help to end bullying, especially cyberbullying.

'It is such a complex, intricate challenge for school boards that we went to community and said, 'We need your help.''

'If we can change behaviours about drinking and driving, if we change behaviours and attitudes around smoking, why can we not change behaviours and attitudes around bullying.'

Heidi, if he is the one that is forgetful, why am I up at 11:00 helping him????

He has to 'buy' a car and figure out his yearly expenses. I know I gave an insurance agent a funny story. I called my insurance company, Progressive, and asked the person who answered if she could help my son with his homework. She figured out how much his insurance would be if he was added to my policy and bought a 2013 Honda Civic. She was really nice about it. The civic was the car assigned to him. If he did buy this care, it would cost him about $13,000 for the first year. HE WILL NOT BE GETTTING A CAR, NEW OR OLD.

Greetings friends, yes, up at unusual time, more about that later, and this time hope to check I get ALL the post posted, sorry about lst time.

Mama, I know I have read some of the trilogy, but not in order, I would love to get them and read again. They were that good.

Gail, lovely photos, I left comments.

Heidi, what a good way to get the fencing done, you supplying tractor labor, the professionals supplying the man labor, fence up, and hopefully Heidi's back spared. I vote for continuing this arrangement!

CynB, hope you have/had a wonderful trip, thanks for sharing the excitement with us. I can just see it popping off the page hehehe. Meeting up with cyber friends is always so fun, says she just back from a whole week with friends!

Tami, not crazy, just a mom, with a son who has his learners permit. It is what Moms do. I agree with theresa, we miss your stories, but if you have to cut back, you must. Just do drop in occasionally with a story or two, please? 'Twill be a sweeter treat cause of it's rarity.

Theresa, glad you realized that crocheting was causing pain, and passed the project on to daughter. Sorry the hoves ache again, you 2 legged animal you. You should be glad you only have 2 to hurt hehehe.

YEAH, ROLANDA, only 36 sleeps, how fantastic. I know you are excited. Wish I were closer, would be over to help unpack boxes!! Sending patience for this month and then energy to get it all done. Will be nice seeing things that have been in boxes for a year! Have I missed recent photos of the new abode??

Way to go Heidi, I would have done the same. If you tell me you are not to be here meals, then show up, you are on your own!!

Suzanne, after a day like that, you seserve a glass of wine. I do hope the shopping was successful, and you found all that was needed, plus at least one treat for you!

Julie, I understand about the swimmers setting the temp for the swimming pool. the same happens here. that is why Lakeshore has more than one pool, different temps for different needs. It is a beautuful facility. The para Olympics training camps occupy part of the campus, with pools and living facilities. not sure if they have aquatic sports trials here or not, know they have wheel chair basketball. But because it is a rehab facility, they do have the warmer pools. Work has started getting my membership.

Heidi, for 'not much getting done right now', you still seem to do twice as much as most of us!! I hope the 'sleeping sickness' soon gets better.

DANA IS MOVING OUT? Seems I missed that somehow, thanks MAMA for mentioning so I get back in the loop. Can anyone get me up to date on that??

YEAH HEIDI, the fencing is done! How about a break before another major project? You make me tired, just reading all you do.

OK, I think I caught up, did not get to comment on the last few posts, but know i read and thought of you.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. Till later.

Now a bit about EPII and what is going on here. I went to a lunch time cookout put on by the staff, for all the residents and honoring the firemen in our area. It is some kind of fireman's recognition week this week, and this is an annual deal here at EP. Lovely meal, of hotdogs or hamburger, slaw with feta cheese dressing, baked beans, baked chips, and all the toppings for a good hamburger. I chose a dog, no bun, and everything but beans, made a bit of dressing from condiments on the table for my lettuce and tomato for a second salad.

One of the members played piano, lots of oldies, like 'in the mood' and I forget what all. I had a really good time. Came home feeling really tired, landed in my recliner and dosed. I had alarm set for 2:15 to go to an art group, see what they are about, but I woke just as it was going off with TERRIBLE cramps in my belly. This lead to tummy distress times 2, OH I was soooo sick! I thought someone was stabbing me in the back and abdomen and was ready to die to make it stop! THAT BAD. Weak as water, almost could not get from bed to toilet, good thing I had parked my walker near bed, I needed it!!

Do not know if I had that terrible stomach virus going around, or if it was food poisoning. Happened just over 2 hours from my eating, the earliest of the window of usual times of onset of food poisoning. I did call down to desk to let them know of that possibility, she said no one else had reported sick. I told her still plenty of time, I was early in the 2 to 6 hour window, and I was among the first group to be served, many did not eat till an hour after I did. I just hope it was not food poisoning, could be really rough on some of our older, frailer residence. The sudden onjset of such violent cramps does lead me to believe food, though.

Medication after each trip to toilet, and something for nausea stopped the problem and I slept all afternoon and early evening. I woke with my body complaining of being in bed so long, so just took more pain meds, and should be back to sleep soon. NOT A FUN DAY!!

Monday is the day scheduled for working on the Feona's girl's products, getting them ready for selling. I have not heard from Ann in a couple of days, she is still in Haiti I imagine, and they have no internet, not even electricity to recharge phones or laptops. More when I hear from her again.

I went Wednesday for follow up CAT SCAN of chest. they say no change, again, but want another in 6 months. I might talk them out of that, if no symptoms, gee, how long are we gonna follow this little scar on lungs? They have no idea how much pain lying on my back for 5 minutes causes me. my sister, who waited on me in waiting room, said she cold see across the room how badly I hurt. AND this was with extra medication, reason sister drove me, so I could heavily medicate, at doctors suggestion, before the test.

Part 2

I did recover fairly quickly, would have been better if I had muscle relaxers in purse/ I had taken the last of those on vacation one day when we were out, and not replaced them. Be assured, they are now back in my purse.

Monday I must get busy scheduling my epidural and get started on schedule for therapy. I just was not thinking clearly enough, too many things to do, to accomplish that the last few days.

OK, that is my saga for today. tomorrow is another day, and I have started it feeling much better. tummy is not happy, but complaints are to a minimum now, will settle for that.

More hugs, later friends.
