Yes CynB. We are all having the same reaction to this sad news. Even though many of us have not met these people we do feel as if we know them well. Even someone like me who has not been in here often lately it touches your heart.

I don't have time to read or fill you in on all the details but could you all join in a prayer circle for someone very dear to me... his name is William and I fear he is dying as I write this. I cannot reach him to help him...Please pray for him.

I got choked up while at lunch with hubby after reading Jane's news...there but for the grace go many of us... She has remarkable strength, and has remained so upbeat in her postings. You just feel that is what she is giving out in real life. Inspirational ♥

Thanks Gail... everybody makes the odd blunder in life... mistakes...I'm an expert.
This was an act first ... think later...

WHY is it that often you do NOT REALISE how much someone means to you until it is too late to tell them.. or make sure they are aware..
I can do no more.... I dried my tears after talking to Dino earlier.

Bed for me...

May Jane continue to be strengthened by our love and support as she and Jamie walk this bitter road together. Love will allow space to allow reality to land softly, but it will be a tough time in adjusting...as some of us have had to do, and all will walk at some point in our lives. May we all take comfort not in the lose, but in the fact that joy was such a part of this union. Peace.♥
Bean, Hopefully William is in a safe place, and my prayer for him is that wherever he is, he is in no pain and feels the love you hold for him. May your act of kindness be seen for all that it is...a friend showing love and concern for a friend. Hopefully your sleep will bring you peace of mind...and miracles do happen...all of the time.♥

Morning all,

MizT, I'm glad you got your pain under control. Let's hope it stays that way for a while.....

Theresa, you did extremely well to do what you did in that weather! They make them hardy up there in Canada!!

Julie, how frustrating! I have never been successful syncing this with my phone, but I gave up very easily...

Thinking of Jane and Jaime, and sending Jane strength to add to her already considerable share... An amazing lady...

Bit like some other people we know. Not mentioning any names (Mamacita and MizT and ....you know who you are)

This site shares the sadness we are all feeling, even though many of us have not met.

On a lighter note we are waiting for the dishwasher man to come. Yesterday it took me about an hour to empty the dishwasher, wash and dry all the dishes. So glad it did not break down over Christmas when I had all the family here.

June, we may have never met, but the people on this site have become friends. I feel that I am talking to good friends when I come here. I know I can share my joys or my troubles. My friends make me laugh and don't judge me when I make a mistake. I feel blessed to have joined this group and have so many wonderful friends. Remember, you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family.

I hesitate to do this as I know you all have enough to think about but Dana asked me to and I promised her I would.

Dana asks that you send out some of your magical happy thoughts to Kayla Isobel and her family. Kayla died of SIDS two days before Christmas. There had been several miscarriages before Kayla and her family are devastated.

Suzy, Acts of kindness or request for any kind of help are things we want to share and add support to those who are in need. Please never hesitate ...we are all one...and stand together in times of need, to soften the blows of life if we can.
Sending prayers of thanks that Kayla was able to bring joy and happiness to her family, even though it was just for a little while. Peace.

Suzy...acts of kindness or request for same must not be something you hesitate to do or ask for here....we all know sadness comes in groups it seems, so if we can spread any comfort or support, we are happy to do so.
Sending up prayers and appreciation for knowing that Kayla was able to bring joy into the hearts of her family even if it was just for a little while. Peace.

Hi, Everyone! Just a quick peek in to say Hello! Hubby and I were at the acupuncturist's for about 2.5 hours this afternoon, followed by errands, late dinner and home to deal with computer issues. I think both computers, both phones and iPad now match for ONE month. This is going to be a long procedure!

Evening all,
I shared your comments with Dana and she is a different girl now. This is probably the first time since she became a mum herself that she has learnt of the loss of a baby in this way and she took it really badly. This morning I was sure she'd be up all night tonight checking on Tahli to make sure she is still breathing. This afternoon, after seeing the copy and paste of your posts, she seemed much calmer and may actually sleep tonight. A little at least.

Anecdote: There's a movie on right now, don't know the name and don't really care.. One of the actors is Dolph Lungren (think I got that right). If I have the right guy, he was a Swedish exchange student in the Chemical Engineering faculty a year ahead of me. Legend had it that he was swept away by Grace whatsit to be her bodyguard. Then he started getting parts in B movies. He got his degree even though he wasn't there for the second half of the year!! That's the legend anyway..

The exchange students in my year were real runts, nice runts, but runts... maybe they wouldn't send the studly ones anymore after Dolph.

Good evening folks...
Such an exhausting day.. emotionally and physically.
Thank you all for your words of comfort and well wishes..without them I doubt I would have slept very well at all.

This whole business has brought to mind the same old..same old... nobody REALLY understands that internet friendships are real.. in fact I would go so far as to say that are lot of them are closer. Most of you know more about my everyday life than my family or 'regular' friends.. The BIG difference with them is we usually do have names and addresses and can call on someone else to check up when you know a friend needs help.

I don't EVER want to go through an episode like that feeling so helpless. Before FB I wouldn't have had a clue where to turn if I was worried about a lot of our group. What to do. Have a few ideas personally that will help me sleep at night... which doesn't involve cutting all of my internet friends out of my life. Will get back to you all on that.

I'm exceptionally weary now so I'll bid you all arrivederci... I'm too hot & exhausted to even want a swim... NOT good.. G'nite

Hi all.
Another sad day after reading. Bean,Jane,Dana and Greg have my condolences in dealing with such sad times.

We all feel comfort in sharing our lives with others whom we confide in when things get tough.
Those in sudoku, seem to have a special bond of friendship and we can share, both the very happy times as well as sad.

Love you all!!

Anecdote: An oldie but a goodie...

Knock on the staff room door.

Head Teacher: 'We're in a meeting, is it important?'

Student: Yes.

HT jumps up and goes to the door..

HT: What is it?

S: Can I have my ball back?

HT: That's not important, go away!

t: Is that the one you threw in the bin?

Viv..lovely to see you and how are you going?
Heidi...was hoping the truck would be ready but not to be.How is the hand?
Mama...wish I had your way with words, they are beautiful.
June...what luck that the dishwasher broke AFTER Christmas hehe. Are you having a break from bowls over xmas? Dont envy the high temps experienced down there lately. A cousin from Peakhurst Sydney, came up for Judy's memorial whom I hadn't seen since I was 12 yrs. It was a real treat to catch up and we all enjoyed his dry sense of humor. He had us laughing which made for a great get together for the family. We didn't need to be sad, as this had been experienced for a long time, and we needed to reflect on the happy, funny side.
Tami..completely agree with you about the friendships made here.
I am trying to arrange a holiday in March to Tasmania, that will also include Sydney and Gosford on our way home.I have many rellies there which I want to catch up with but would really love to see some sudoku friends as well. Will let you know when dates are finalized, and hopefully we can catch up at 'The Rocks',or somewhere, where people dont have to travel far.

Hi all. Had a busy day. Mitchell needed sneakers so we all went to the mall. I was also babysitting a friend's 8.5 year old son. The boys all behaved. Mitchell has a new favorite store at the mall. It is called 'Pepper Place' and all they carry are different hot sauces and condiments. Mitchell loves hot sauce. He bought himself a bottle called Swamp Gas. The guy working in the store helped him pick it out and let him sample it. Came home and they played outside most of the day. Had 11 kids playing in and around my front yard. Finally called it a night when neighbor girl bit her older brother and had a tantrum.

that lovely warm golden thing in the sky returned today! Temps got up to 50, much more normal than the cold weather we have had. I just had to get out a while. Met the veggie man, and got some of what I wanted. Went thrift store shopping. found Joy a suit, silk with a brushed texture, that just looked like her and for a wonderful price. Got myself a beaded and embroidered slinky black tunic, for one of our birthday parties or other meetings where everyone dresses, and a fake 'silver' large circle-link necklace. Costume jewelry but it looks like a classic Tiffany style. then to Lakeshore and stayed in the warm water till I turned into a prune hehehe. Must have tired me out, I woke in my recliner when I got a txt message hehehe.

TAMI, hope Mitchell enjoys the hot sauce, that sounds lethal. Yep, time to go home when biting starts. How old was the biter?

Nola, so glad your cousin could bring some laughter to Judy's memorial. I do hope you are able to meet up with some Sudoku friends on your trip. meeting cyber friends is great, I have never been disappointing.

spell check knows how important Sudoku is, only recognizes the word with a capital S hehehe.

Got another compliment on my ruby red ribbed knit track suit today! From a complete stranger. she was the driver of a city bus, the short ones with lift gate for special needs people, and parked in front of Lakeshore, waiting for her customer. Startled me when she called out her window at first This must be a good color for me, I have had compliments on it from other residents.

My new swim suit works well, wore it first time today. Swim dress with loose wide legged shorts (brief under) and covers things I need to cover. Only problem is when I get out of the pool the legs of the shorts cling, then flap around dripping water.

OH, I started taking one of those 'holds 5 times it weight in water' cloths with me, they do absorb the water dripping from suit, wring it out and even wet absorbs tons more. Earlier this week, friend Sue saw it at pool and said what great idea, she is going to get her a couple of them. I do not claim credit for this idea, I saw divers at the summer Olympics a few years back using something similar, and thought why not?

back to recliner, see if I can see to read. My floor lamp is not working. It quit once but happened to come back on when I turned the switch one more time. Switch turning did not work this time. I looked at thrift store, they had no floor lamps. I should try a new bulb first, but it is a special bulb and I forgot to get it out of lamp. Hummmm, that is not going to be easy, lamp is tall, cannot reach it. Perhaps tip the lamp horizontal? The bulb is about 10 inches long, as big around as a pencil, some kind of dim-able florescent or something not incandescent. I shall have to go to a specialty store to find it. Just learned there is such a store not far off my route to grocery and thrift store, batteries plus. The plus is for lig

The plus is for light bulbs, that is all they sell. If they do not have it, you are not going to find it, any kind of bulb or battery.

Hello all.

Beautiful sunny day here, thanks to a chinook wind from the west.

Yesterday when I went to feed the feral cats outside, a few dozen black birds flew out of the feeding station. So I guess it's not the cats after all who are emptying the dish every day. One of the slate gray feral cats, the larger one, meows a lot under the porch and we can hear it from inside the house. Then today it started sitting at our door meowing, but when I open the door it runs away. How I wish I could give every cat a home, but hubby says enough is enough, and he's right. Sigh .....
