Gee, I never check the post Numbers but a lovely top for you Heidi!

Suzy and Judy...both of you must get so frustrated when the body is willing but the mind won't play the game. With determination and exercises, much progress can be made.
My sister-in-law had a stroke at about age 42, and made an almost full recovery after about 12 months. She couldn't talk or walk. Only left with a slight limp now, when she gets tired.
The family were amazed, from the time we 1st saw her after the stroke to how she improved.
I haven't taken notes from the previous page so that I can comment. My memory isn't fantastic either. Getting older hehe
Stay warm, all those affected with the cold weather.
My sleeping pattern is all topsy tervey but I had better make an effort to get back to normal.
Catch up another time.

You didn't miss my birthday, Nola. It's today. We just had the dinner out last night because I'm hauling cattle this afternoon, and maybe evening if there's a long line at the stockyard. I could conceivably be in line there for a few hours.

The calves are sorted and ready to be loaded in 1 hour. I'm cooking the corned beef ahead of time so I don't have to eat late tonight. It'll be ready in half an hour, I'll just reheat it when I get home from the stockyard. The blintzes only take 10 minutes to cook. The cake just has to be frosted with whipped cream, then covered in strawberries and blueberries. My mouth is already watering.

Oh great, that I still caught you for your special day Heidi!
You never seem to stop working, and with your back not being the best,I sympathize.
Hopefully, a quick result at the stockyard might give you some time to spend having a rest or just 'ME' time.
Stay warm and cozy when you can!

It's a warm, but windy day. It's 60℉℉ / 15.5℃ right now! Hard to believe on Feb. 10th, and with that nasty snowstorm to the east of us.

It is hard to believe, that here too, temps are quite mild for this time of year. February is usually our hottest month, yours up north, are probably the coldest.
It is pleasant to sit here, without the air-con on, sleeveless nightie and feel comfortable and cool.

We've had a delay. My friend Anita is driving, since her trailer can hold 3 times as many calves as mine can. She just let me know that the starter went out on her truck, and she's getting a new one installed NOW. She's hoping to be here in an hour. Meanwhile, the weather has deteriorated. It's now raining and the temperature has dropped.

Hi all. I missed three pages and need to come back and read. Sorry I have been missing but life has been busy. Quick update: Mitchell started at the new high school and his happier. He also applied to a program called college academy. They only accept 175 students. If he gets accepted he will do his junior and senior years of HS on a college campus and get his associates degree at the same time. I don't know if his GPA is enough. He realizes he made a mistake at his old school and is trying to make amends. Dylan is doing fabulous and loves middle school. He has straight A's and tries hard for them. Baseball season just started and he likes his team. Nothing else exciting. I will come back and read and catch up soon.

Julie, the avatars are old, and for some reason I have more Valentine's avatars than any other kind, possibly more than all others combined even. I either found a LOT of good graphics all at once or was in an avatar making mind set that February hehehe.

Yes, daughter doing well with that much snow. she was in a cooking mood it seems, sent me p0hotos of beefless stew recipe (son's girlfriend is vegetarian) a nice chicken soup and a very rich chocolate cake. SIL shoveled snow to the stret but snow plows had not been by yet, so it was to a dead end. shoveled across the deck and out to grandson's trampoline, to shovel snow from it, too much weight. Grandson is one of the few who really uses his trampoline, he would jump for hours if they let him.

Heidi, happy you had a nice surprise, your happy birthday wishes in lights at the restaurant. Your meal sounded very nice. good luck at the sale.

OH CYN, I saw a photo of a door opened to the banked snow, but shelves had been dug into the snow, and a case worth of beer was lined up on the shelves getting cold! No power? need to chill your beer? Not a problem hehehe.

We are having thunderstorms, and rather warm weather. I actually heard rain hitting my window for first time, perhaps forever, at least for a long long time. Wind is usually from another direction. I hope it washed the windows, they were beginning to need it!

I missed the monthly birthday party today. Just did not feel like walking downstairs. Tummy still causing problems, pain not good, and this rain and grey skies giving me a small case of the blaaas. This hurting before time for meds and then meds taking an hour or more to work is getting OLD. I get very impatient and ornery :(

I really planned to go, planned ahead even. I had picked a dressy outfit to wear, steamed out the wrinkles, worked on that yesterday. OH well, there is something else this week, I think a Valentines' Day party. I can wear that then, even if it is NOT red.

back to my recliner and my book. Question for you. do you ever get upset with a book you are reading, when something you foresaw would happen does happen. I do, and have to put down the book and walk away for a while. Stupid choices the character made, should have known better, did not listen to me hehehe.

Hugs to each of you, with extras as needed. Till tomorrow.

I'm back. We got the 10,000 pounds of calves to the sale barn safely. They loaded and unloaded easily. I'll go back on Tuesday morning to pick up the check.
Tomorrow will be a mixed day. In the morning I have to take Mason to the Vet clinic to have her put down. She is miserable. Then in the afternoon I will load up the 5 biggest heifer calves and deliver them to their new owner. My trailer can handle them easily.

Rain, rain and more rain. anyone need some, I have plenty to spare.

Today in some areas that were hard hit by Snow storm Nemo (when did they start naming snow storms?) they were forecast rain. I thought, Oh good, it will melt the snow and reduce the cost of snow removal, rain is a good thing. It seems I was wrong. they say the weight of the rain on the snow will be to great for roofs and there could be many collapsed roofs. they were urging people to get out and clear the snow from their roofs. Temps today in some areas started out at 1* F. I cannot see myself out clearing snow from my roof, 2 or 3 feet of snow, in that cold.

Happy birthday Heidi - glad you enjoyed your dinner out with Gil but sorry to hearyour back is not so good.
Suzy - you are doing so well. You and Judy are amazing how quickly you are both on the mend. I try to only think of what I can do now (not what I used to do) - it makes it easier to accept change in your life.
Bean - you sound so much happier - when do you get back to your drumming?
Tami - Mitchell is one step closer to being an adult - good on him. Hope he gets accepted for the program but if not, there is always a back door somewhere.
Am exhausted - we have a role reversal - hubby broke his foot on Friday and he is high maintenance. Went up and down the stairs at home 11 times for him yesterday - at least I may be able to get fitter than the drs. thought.
Son took Truman to the beach again and taught the poor dear how to swim - seems whoever had him before did not give him many fun times. He had never seen water as in a lake or the sea before - had no idea of what to do. Nearly drowned in our local lake - daughter had to jump in and rescue him the first time.

Good Evening, Everyone!

Nola, your birthday greeting for Heidi was a great TOPP! I'm glad you're experiencing mild temperatures, a great change from the flooding!

Tami, it's good to 'see' you here! What great news that Mitchell likes his new high school and has applied for the College Academy. I hope he will be accepted. If not, can he reapply later after he improved his grades?

MizT, it's too bad you missed the birthday party. Hopefully your tummy and the pain will soon improve, and you'll be able to enjoy the activities that are available!

Rolanda, I hope the temperatures there soon moderate! I suspect it is too hot for your morning walks.

Heidi, I hope the check you pick up on Tuesday will be good one! I'm so sorry to hear about Mason. I'm sure you're doing the right thing, though it's always a difficult decision.

Midge, I'm sorry to hear about your husband's broken foot. I hope he isn't too demanding of your time and efforts! How fun that must be introducing Truman to the beach. Our older D had to get a life preserver/life vest for her dog. Hopefully Truman isn't too big, since your D needed to jump in and save hime

It's time to head to bed. I'll be seeing the dentist in the morning (and afternoon). Thinking of all of you and sending positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}.

Hi everyone. Sorry I do not seem to be here much. I had Laura over the weekend.
I have a sick neighbour in hospital, an Uncle passed away last night (I had not seen him for over 10 years and he was 96)so had to make some phone calls and a few other things to take up my time. Bowls tomorrow and Thursday. Trading table and I have not made any cakes. Might have to get up early in the morning.
Midge, why do people with problems seem to get even more problems. You are a srtong person to cope with all you have. Hope your hubby can soon get about OK.
Must remember to get in touch with Broni tomorrow to see when she will be here.

I am back from the Vet Clinic. My caring Vet knew I didn't really want to lose Mason, so we discussed the few options we had in contrast to how miserable Mason was. We both agreed at the end that it was time to let her go and rest in peace and comfort. Mason wasn't adoptable because of her health issues, which is why she came here. There was a wonderful lady behind all that scratching and crying from pain. We tried a lot of treatments on her, but nothing helped. I miss her already.

The heifers are at their new home. Before they left here, we took them through the working chute one last time (with their new owner watching) to deworm them and treat them for lice. The heifers calmly walked into the chute on their own and stood calmly while each waited their turn. Once they were done, we took them around to the loading ramp where my truck an trailer were waiting for them. They calmly walked up the ramp into the trailer with no urging. Their new owner was VERY impressed. He knows he got 5 great new additions to his herd.

Morning all,
Broni says hi. All is going well with her trip and she should be at my place some time today. 8 hours from where she was last night. I'll have to get some ffuts done before she gets here.

Tami, so glad Mitchell is working hard now. I've watched one throw away 'the easy way' (here in Oz it's never too late, it just gets harder and longer) and it's hard. Seeing one get back on track must be wonderful. Dylan should be proud of himself too! I'm sure you're proud of them both, I would be..

Heidi, so sorry about Mason :(

Glad your birthday was good though. Good times, good meals and good sales. A year of not having to worry about your mortgage is brilliant!!

MizT, sorry to hear you weren't well enough to go to the birthday celebration. Sending vibes that you will make it to the next one...

Mamacita, hoping the weather doesn't have you still house bound - unless you want to be. When I couldn't drive I got very antsy, but as I said to hubby - I probably wouldn't have gone anywhere if I could, it was just frustrating that I couldn't.

Gail, I'm hoping the weather isn't keeping you away from home. I haven't heard any news lately so I'm not sure what the fire ratings are in your neck of the woods right now.

Nola, can't wait to see you!

Rolanda, we're back to getting rain now after a few months without.. Hope you get some soon.

June, you have been busy! Sorry about your uncle (((hugs))

Midge, sorry about your hubby's foot! Though if it is getting you fit it isn't all bad, unless you are overdoing it and end up unwell yourself. It's such a fine line...

We get Tahli this weekend. The little cutey is taking some steps now though she falls often.

Midge, good news about the weather. It's funny you say that about having a grandie. Suzy that is almost as good as having your own! I just loved it when mine were little - they were so much fun. 2 of mine have partners but I don't hold out any hopes with at least one of them. The other 2 boys are 'footloose and fancy-free'. Maybe one day but I don't think I will be here to see it. How are you going with your rehab? It all takes so much time - it took me nearly a year to get out of the wheelchair and chuck the sticks away. Now hubby can't walk the dog I am going to try it - he is big and a bit simple minded so that should be an experience!! Trying to teach him to fetch at the moment but not having any success - at least he is one very happy dog, even if he is a boofhead!

Hello, Everyone! I hope you have had/are having a fantastic day!

June, it sounds like you have been exceptionally busy. I am so sorry to hear that your uncle passed. May he R.I.P. I hope your neighbor who is in hospital improved enough to get back home soon. You are extremely dedicated if you are considering getting up early in order to have time to bake cakes for the trading table at bowls! I hope someone appreciates your efforts an lets you know that they are appreciated!

Heidi, good for your caring vet for taking the time to consider options for Mason. My condolences to you! I think we all understand how difficult it was for you to make the decision. I hope you can enjoy happy memories and be pleased for her that she's in a better place and enjoying the company of other dogs who also found a loving home with you!

Heidi, I'm glad the new owner got to see your heifers demonstrating what they're capable of when allowed to learn what is expected of them.

Suzy, I hope you enjoy your visit with Broni! And your visit with Nola when she is there! Enjoy having Tahli with you this weekend!

Midge, I hope your hubby is doing better! Good luck and be careful while walking the dog! Hopefully your hubby will soon be able to resume his dog-walking duties!

Heidi, sleep well! I hope you find a way to really relax tomorrow! Enjoy the Cattlemen's meeting tomorrow.

It's time to head to bed, so I'll wish everyone all the best. {{{{{{ H U G S }}}}}}, prayers, healing vibes and positive thoughts for each of you!

Good evening all. I have spoken to Broni and she will be here tomorrow afternoon.
We got in the semifinal of our bowls game but it was showery rain so we played some of the time using our umbrellas! Not what I find to be the best of bowling conditions though it was better than when we played in the heat (we had to stop when it was 35*c in the shade!!!)
However , with my partner, we won 20/8 so we will play in the final on Saturday.
Looking forward to seeing Broni tomorrow.
Sorry about Mason, Heidi.

Back from the stockyard. It took a long time there because I'm honest. The check they handed me was for 19 animals, not 18. I told them they paid me for one too many calves. So we had to go through all the records from the sale to figure out which one wasn't mine, and to figure out whose it was. We finally got it all figured out and they had to cut me a new, smaller check. Everyone there in the office was astonished that I was so honest. I would have liked the extra $700+, but I would have been stealing it.

JULIE, I did get downstairs on Monday for an 'educational talk' that turned out to be a sales pitch to a captive audience, bummer. A local home health care co pitching a new monitoring system where a patient is checked on daily, electronically. Weight, PB, temp and pulse ox recorded, plus several 'yes or no' answers go to the nurses monitoring. Currently limited to congestive heart failure patients. OH well, there were door prizes and I WON ONE! A nice plaque for hanging on the outside of the door, this one is red, and four letters each differently patterned, 2 above 2, LOVE. I shall put it out once Valentine's wreath comes down, or any time 'between' holidays. I never win anything, so glad I won the 'nicest one' of the day hehehe. Then I worked on a puzzle, one of my friends turned my coffee over on the pieces I was working on, then to my pants, then to the floor, a BIG mess. Was invited to play Rummyqube or however you spell it. sort of like a rummy card game, but played with tiles instead. Only second time I played, and I did good hehehe, had fun too.

So, whatever this tummy bug I had was, it is better yesterday and today. Just hope it does not come back. It has been doing that with others, get better a few days, then back again. Sis has been sick with it for over 2 weeks now, me, just almost 2 weeks. Joy was having some of the symptoms yesterday, hope she did not catch it from me when she stopped by one day at lunch.

ROLANDA, you coming to get this rain? I had it all wrapped and tied in a bow for you. It is still raining here, forget how many days worth now, but too many. A friend of my BIL has announced he has ordered plans for an ark hehehe.

TAMI, I do hope Mitchell gets into the program he applied for. It sounds as if he would be happier there. fingers crossed for him. Do let us know when you know, please.

MIDGE, that is a lot of running up and down the stairs. How long before he can make a few trips a day downstairs, that might help out some, if he were down and on the sofa. Lots nearer the kitchen and refrigerator.

HEIDI, I know it was hard for you to put down Mason. Take comfort in knowing you did the right thing, what was best for her, and not what you wanted, which of course was to keep her with you. I know, it is still hard. Hugs to you today.

I need to find some warmer clothes. It is not terribly cold, but the damp with it reaches down to the bones. I have a couple of things to do today before my cleaning lady comes this afternoon. I must straighten my desk and my chair side table, maybe a 10 minute chore. cleaning lady needs to SEE the surface of both fore she can clean them hehehe.

I also need to check on my neighbor. she was taken to hospital by medics yesterday. I tried phoning her this morning, no answer. I do hope she is back home, perhaps just off to a doc today. they do that after an ER visit when they do not keep you, you know, make you an appointment for your doc as a follow up. I do hope sh
