Evening friends, today has been good, but took a hurty turn a bit ago. It has thought of something new, shoulders, arms, ribs, chest, all connected, all complaining. Breathing is not fun, but necessary. Pain meds give some relief, thankfully.

It has been a drizzly day today, cloudy and damp but warmer than normal today. Most of the comming week is to be warmer than usual, but the forecasters say about 2 weeks out we will get some really cold winter weather, bummer. I remember many Valentines day weekends, when we had a banquet at our church when i was growing up, and we had snow. Fancy dress, fancy strappy shoes and snow do not mix.

Cajn't remember what I read last page, sorry. I did take time to send up prayers and good wishes for Jane and her baby. Hope the rest of you are all faring well, I read and thought about you.

Hugs to each of you with extras, till later.

Nice one Heidi - I prefer to think of myself as being 'eccentric' or 'diffrent'. Who knows what the parameters for sanity are anyway? Sounds boring to me. Take care MizT - sounds like you may have a chest infection cranking up.

Good afternoon everybody.
Life has been pretty hectic since I last posted.
Last Thursday was busy settling in the house sitter and showing him the ropes. Decided that I needed 'Time Out' and to head for Echuca/Moama on Friday so that I wouldn't be so tired for the wedding on Saturday. Usual recovery post wedding BBQ on the Sunday... not everyone attended that but most of my family did. It was so good to see them. Hadn't seen my brothers since the funeral 2 years ago or my sisters since the 50th last year.
An exhausting but fulfilling trip away.

I popped in here after a quick check on FB photo's the other day and promptly fell asleep from exhaustion. I've now caught up on all the reading.

Congrats on the new car Mama.. great news.
Somebody commented on human gestation.. full term is considered from 37 weeks.
Tricia I hope you start to feel better soon.. Midge could well be right. Take care.
Julie I am impressed with your ever changing parade of avatars.. What terrible news about Jane ... I believe in miracles and I hope for recovery here.
Heidi driving under those conditions are downright scary.. glad to hear the calving is off to a great start.
Suzy speaking 'like a deaf person' is clever. Hope the 'first' expedition behind the wheel went well.
Good luck with the 'junk sorting' Judy.. that is my plan for the rest of the week. Wish me luck.

Have no idea what else I wanted to comment on other than it is good to read your post Nola.
hope Armidale is treating you well June.. ENJOY..

Singing resumed last week and it was fantastic. Had another choirmaster [ours is still on holidays] and it was great to experience another's method to bring us all together. She was so inspiring I would consider swapping choirs to gain more from her style... except Footscray is such a long way to go..
Have missed the last 2 weeks of drumming. I'm just about to check up on what they have been doing before I head off in a couple of hours. Might jump in the pool first.. it is pretty warm outside.

Off to do my last cow check before going to bed. I'm hoping that the rest of the calves wait until next week before being born.

I am back again for a short visit.
Cyn...you are so thoughtful to donate to schools effected by the floods. Your friends, and my grandsons also go to East Bundy State school and they have a FB page too. Pauls x-wife spent a lot of time there cleaning up. Absolutely, nothing left.Thank god for the Aust.Army and volunteers.

I wont comment on posts, but will just tell you what is going on here.
Rental property has 1 power point at the fuse box that can be used. Still waiting for insurance assessor. The whole place may have to be re-wired,and today I talked to a Real Estate Agent that I contacted about Judys unit, and valuations will go down for properties that were flooded. Oh well, retirement,is now even further away.
Dont get me wrong,I am glad that family are safe, but all that I have worked for has been for nothing.
Looking forward to the holiday in Tasmania.
It makes me feel guilty that I can afford a holiday when others have nothing.
Just trying to spend a bit of quality time with displaced residents who are relocated at our centre. A little TLC with helping them adjust, makes my day. Over 70 residents over north, were winched by helicopter to evac centres.
Some have dementia, which has a huge impact on the normal routine and they dont understand where they are, and nothing is familiar.
Tears are common, and this goes for school children to the elderly.
As you can see,it is still a very emotional time for us.
Much love to you all and I think SA, is the best remedy for keeping me sane!

Well I'm back in the land of the living, feeling much better but have been left with an irritating cough which starts when I move into different temperatures.
Celia, who had been discharged from hospital on
Friday last week is now back in hospital. She was admitted on Monday, but because I was unwell I couldn't go and see her until today. She looked really pleased to see me when I walked into her room. I had had a telephone call from her brother (who lives in Perth) on Monday morning to say thank you for what I had done for Celia whilst she was in hospital. Within 2 hours I had a call from Celia saying she was being taken back into hospital. Hopefully it will only be for a few days this time.
Well I had better go and do some gninroi before Richard comes in from work.
Tomorrow is not only my daughter Elaine's birthday, but it is Pip's 1st birthday too.

Neither of the new calves made it through last night. They were twins, and I now believe that they weren't full term after all. I now have to go bury them both. IH only saw one this morning, and didn't look for the other calf. He wanted to throw the one that he found into the dumpster, which is illegal, but the easiest way to dispose of them. I put my foot down and told him that I'd bury it. I don't know why he's so determined to break laws. I know that when any of his animals die, he throws them in the dumpster and covers them with trash, but I refuse to allow that with my animals. Not only is it illegal, and a public health risk, but it's disrespectful to the animal.

Heidi...Sorry to hear that the calves didn't make it, but I'm so glad to know responsible, caring owners like you who treat all animals in a respectful manner when disposing of them after death.
Brenda, glad to hear you are feeling better...I think I may be trying to catch something...can't stop sneezing, and have a continuing leaky faucet (nose), but I don't feel bad, thankfully.
Today is my first born grand daughter's birthday....will help celebrate later tonight.
Off to do some jigsaws...take care all. Peace.

Nola - do not feel guilty about having a holiday. You need one after what you've been through. And you are helping the flood-affected people as well as being flood-affected yourself. How much does a person have to take? Look forward to that holiday, please.
Heidi - so sorry about the calves.
Brenda - pleased you are on the mend. Sorry to hear that Celia is back in hospital, hope she comes good quickly.
I have a very noisy generator outside my house again today and I don't have much to do - so I think I'll take myself off to the movies. Still want to see 'Quartet'. Ciao!

Good on you Heidi for showing these poor little ones the respect they deserve. Some men just don't get it!! Broni - Melb has put on a nice warm day just for you! Nola - you have been through so much over the past few months - you not only deserve a break you must have it or you will run out of steam - it is going to take a very long time for things to get back to 'normal' in Bundy. Relax and enjoy.

Afternoon all,
Still thinking of Jane, hope she is improving.

Brenda, glad you are improving. I bet you're not going out much if changing temperatures aggravates it.

Happy Birthday to Elaine and Pip!

Heidi, so sorry about the calves.. I hope the rest hold off until they are ready and strong enough to survive cold weather.

Broni, can't wait to see you!

Midge, I'm glad the hospital visit was a planned one and not and emergency situation. You are one strong lady and always sound upbeat.

Mamacita, hope you enjoyed the party and that your leaky faucet repairs itself before it turns into something serious.

Nola, you seem to forget that although you have somewhere to live and so does Paul, you are still a victim of this flood and need to give yourself a break. Enjoy your holiday with no guilty feelings... I can't wait to meet you in person!

Cyn, hope the movie was good....

Warning I'm going to be weak and complain... My mothers cousin is executor of my mother's will and has been a pain throughout the whole thing. Months ago we thought we'd resolved the issue of putting the house on the market while it still had things we wanted in it, but apparently not and now she is complaining that she is out of pocket because we haven't picked up the stuff and she can't put it up for sale. People LIVE in houses that are for sale for crying out loud!! I have no sympathy for her as the delay is of her own choosing... Anyway I was talking to my brother today and he is giving up his last weekend with his wife before she goes away for a couple of months to go down to pick up stuff. I started to get really upset and angry and then noticed that I was starting to slur and my left side to feel funny. So I'm going to let them do whatever the h3ll they want to do and never speak to mum's cousin again. She's not worth it. I don't need her in my life. Tomorrow I'm going to visit a friend who has had a stroke before to find out where she went for her meditation and relaxation classes and I'm going to go to those.

Pity party over. It's safe again.

Hi, Everyone!

Thanks to so many of you who are praying for Jane, the young mother who had a stroke. We are only getting spotty information. From what we have heard, she has been transferred to an excellent rehab hospital. We don't know the status of the baby girl. Though she weighed about 6 pounds, she was at least 1 month premature.(The rehab hospital is pretty much across the street from the hospital where the baby was born. )There's a toddler brother at home (probably with one of the dad's many siblings, we assume. The dad has notified school officials that it may be some time before he can return to school. Hubby is no longer subbing, as the subject matter (though in the same department) isn't really his field of expertise and is quite technical. If you don't mind, please say a quick prayer for this young family when you think of it. Thanks!

Suzy, the 100-day practice challenge requires at least 30 minutes of practicing every day. If you miss a day, it's back to day one for you.The 30 minutes isn't difficult for me, but I've been know to occasionally miss a day. So far, so good. (I started Jan. 30.)

Suzy, I hope you are feeling better and continue to make remarkable improvementL! It's an uphill battle.

Nola, I hope things will soon start to look up for you and your family! Positive thoughts and {{{HUGS}}} for you! You certainly deserve a break!

Judy and others near the fires, do whatever needs to be done to remain safe/ Prayers for all of you!

Great TOPP, Heidi!

Bean, we're glad to have you back after your weekend away! Hooray for you being back to singing!

Broni, enjoy your long weekend/short week.Safe travels!

Heidi, I'm so sorry to hear that the cold mud claimed the new calves. How frustrating! (As is IH's response to it!)

Brenda, good to hear that you are feeling better! Happy Birthday to Elaine and Pip! I hope Celia will soon be released from the hospital!

Mama, happy birthday to your first-born granddaughter!

Cyn, a loud generator sounds like a perfect reason to go see a movie! I also want to see Quartet. We also have Lincoln and Skyfall on our list, but I'm not sure when we'll see them.

Midge, I'm glad your hospital visit was planned and not an emergency! You set quite an example for all of us with your positive attitude.

Suzy, your Mum's cousin seems to need to make others feel sorry for her. I'm glad you didn't succumb and just let things go when you noticed symptoms! It's time to take care of you! Happy Birthday to Tahli!

I really must get to bed before falling asleep in the chair! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, and healing vibes for everyone, including our Missing-In-Action members! Good Night!

You are right suzy, I am not venturing out very far at the moment. Unfortunately I will have to start visiting Celia again as no one else is going in to see her. She has very very selfish grand children.
We are going out to dinner tonight for Elaine's birthday so no cooking for me tonight
How on earth can your mother's cousin be out of pocket because the house isn't empty and up for sale. I would keep an eye on her claims for expenses as the executor of the will. You are doing the right thing, thinking of yourself at the moment.

You're right Brenda. Unless she's also a beneficiary of the will, she should not be out of pocket at all.
Don't worry about it at all, Suzy. Your brother has it under control and you need those meditation and relaxation classes - that's much more important. I'd be interested to know how that goes. I've often thought it would be wonderful but have always wondered how I could control and slow down my mind - it's racing constantly and always has. I've always been inarticulate because my mind has raced on 2 sentences before I get the first one said!

Julie, I hope Jane recovers well and is back with her family and new baby as soon as possible.
The film was wonderful - those old Brit actors sure are great - and of course they need a good script, which they had - and fabulous music. It was lovely to see that the smaller parts for other singers and musicians were actually taken by real experienced singers and musicians. I love a film that makes you want more (or a book for that matter)!

Morning all,
First physical therapy today. I'm hoping it will help me. I have weird things going on. For example, knocking on a door with my left hand feels all disconnected and I can't knock loudly. So of course every time I knock on a door I'm using my left hand... I'm guessing only time and continuing to do the things that feel weird will fix this.

Julie, I like the sound of your challenge. 30 minutes is manageable and it's something you want to do anyway.

Cyn, I hope I remember to see the movie...

Checking in without reading all the new posts. I think I have some tummy bug, which leaves me suddenly weak as water. So before I give out and do not get a post, here goes.

I just had a very nice surprise and thought I would share the feel good moment with all of you. Let me back up a bit. We get a bulletin delivered every 2 months, photos of residents in activities and such, plus a list of birthdays for those 2 months. I had just received mine for Feb/March.

We do have a birthday party every month for those celebrating, but I thought why not get some birthday cards and deliver them to the birthday girls every week. We do not have mail boxes we can access, so if we need to send something to someone in the building, we just slide it under their door.

Yesterday I did the birthdays for this week, and delivered them, there were 4 of them. Then I went to the pool and errands. When I got home, I noticed I had a couple of phone calls I had missed. One was from one of the birthday girls, one I was not sure I knew, but I recognized her name. I thought that was nice, she had tried to acknowledge the card, how sweet. Well, just a few moments ago, I got a soft knock on my door, and opened to this tiny black lady, face full of a grin. She thanked me profusely for her birthday card, said it had made her day and she really appreciated it. Lovely start to my new activity, encouraged me to make sure I continue it. If just one person a month is really pleased and happy someone remembered their birthday, it is worth the doing. AND Gloria is one person I will remember by name. It is a bit difficult to remember everyone I have been introduced to, but with such a visit behind that name, I shall remember her when I see her again!!

Tired. I finally got around to burying the 2 calves, then I cleaned off the hay feeding pad (80 ft x 200 ft, and over a foot deep in manure), then fed hay to the cows and horses. My back says ''ENOUGH!''. I think I'm gonna treat myself to a nice steak tonight. I earned it.
BTW... it turned out that the last epidural wasn't a very good one. It just took the edge off the pain.
