Hi all! We are back to cloudy with the occasional rain.
Hubby was at the train accident yesterday. He was on another train at the time and got told to go there immediately. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/qr-to-investigate-why-train-slammed-into-cleveland-sta tion/story-e6freoof-1226566307403
If you look at the 4th photo in the article there are 5 men in a row in orange safety vests - he is the one 2nd from the right wearing a cap.
There are no details yet on the cause but he said when he went into the cabin the emergency brake was on full. Luckily no-one was killed or badly injured.

I'm home,

MizT your movie day sounds like fun though it sounds like a chair remedy needs to be found.

Tami, good to see you, even if only briefly

Vicki, if your hubby had to go to the train accident I'm glad the injuries were only minor

It's raining again. Lots of noise and a light show but only 6mm of rain so far.

My echo went well. I won't know the results until next week some time. All looked good from where I was sitting/lying though.

Vicki - I just had a look at the pics and picked out your hubby. Bad thing to have happened at a badly designed railway station. Imagine putting the loos right at the end of the line!! Lucky it was that time of day so not many left on the train and luckier there were no men in the toilets. Looks like I won't be travelling by train for a while - that's my station!

Darn; lost my post.

Hi, Everyone! Thinking of all of you dealing with nature's extremes!

The person who started donating platelets just before I did on Sunday had chosen that movie, so I watched it with him.

Suzy, I hope the echo went well today! Thinking of you!

Vicki, thanks for sharing the link. So glad there was no loss of life or serious injury!

Tami, it's good to see you, even if it's just a brief visit.

Here are the usual wishes: {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}, prayers, healing vibes, positive thoughts and !

I woke up this morning to WINTER! It was 14℉ / -10℃!!!!! And everything is covered in a (thin) layer of white. It's not supposed to even approach the freezing/ thawing line, so it'll be here for a bit.

Heidi, did you not say once that frozen ground was better for the cows than cold mud? I hope I remember correctly and they are happier with the white frozen ground.

sister is supposed to come by today, but have not heard from her yet, so not sure if she will make it. She was going to her class at the pool, not the same kind of class I attend, so not same time. Maybe I should phone her if she has not turned up in a bit.

Suzy, happy the echo went well, hope the results are as good as they appeared today.

HI TAMI, bye Tami, drop in again when you can. good to see you we at least know all is OK with you.

Cyn, do you usually use the train a lot for traveling? I do not remember if you have mentioned train before.

Suzy, once I get my power chair, it will be much more comfortable for sitting to watch the movie, I will bring my own sitting place hehehe. Others don't complain of the seating, just us with fibro, like the princess and the pea of fairy tales, we are more sensitive to what we are sitting upon.

Time to get dressed, not sure why, not going anywhere, but it just seems the thing to do before lunchtime.

I have done my chore for the day, washed my kitchen floor. All 3 feet by 9 feet of it plus the 4 x 4foot entryway. BIG JOB, not. I do not know where so much dirt comes from. One, there is no dirt outside here, all pavement and grass. Two, I have to walk a LONG way indoors to get to my door, so I do not think I could track dirt in that far if there were dirt to track in. nevertheless, my white floor gets dirty, just black dirt on the mop pad. I use one of those swiffer mop thingies, because I do not have a place for hanging a real mop to dry.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Tomorrow I'm spending the day with friends at the Kentucky Horse Park. I've got to leave here at 6:30 am to meet everyone, since I'm the furthest from the Horse Park. We haven't decided yet if we'll stay for the concert in the evening.

Hi All....The car arrived and I'm loving it! It drives so well and it's so great to once again have my own wheels and call my own shots about where, when and how I do things...losing that independence was a real downer....but YAY...I'M BACK!
Hope all is good if not great with every one and Miz T hope the weather change eases enough to allow the aches and pains to respond to the meds faster...I didn't get to spend much time looking at the car on the outside close up because its so cold and the garage is still too full of boxes to open the door...gotta get that together..lol. Heidi, have a good day with your friends tomorrow. Peace all.

MizT - I only use the train or bus if I go into Brisbane CBD as parking costs are so prohibitive. I avoid going in there if I can. So I won't be inconvenienced by it. And I can use the bus if necessary.
Mama - enjoy your car and take care!

Hi all. Just waiting on a call from Mitchell. He is on his way to Gainesville with 2 of his friends and one set of parents. They are going to tour the University of Florida campus and go to a basketball game tomorrow. They will be home Sunday. The parents of one of the boys have an older son who is a freshman there.

Mama, enjoy your new car. Honda's are really good and fun to drive.

Don't remember much else. Need to come back when I am more awake and can read. See you all soon.

I may or may not report in tomorrow night, depending on how late I get home. While it takes me 1 hour and 45 minutes to get both to & from the Horse Park, we'll be making 4 stops for other people, and going out of the way for each one, so it will take over 3 hours drive each way.
I hope everyone has a GREAT .
everybody. I have to get up in 5 1/2 hours.

Mamacita, congrats on the new car. Prayers for many years of safe end enjoyable driving.
Lots of rain here so the grass etc are growing very quickly.
We are leaving early tomorrow for a week away with our friends from Probus. A whole bus load going to Armidale. Home Friday night.
Packing and lots of jobs to do.
I will have the notebook, and although I bought it for me, Hubby tends to monopolise it.
Suzy, Good luck with the test results.
Broni, the bed is already made up with clean sheets etc.

Heidi, that happens to me often, posts do not appear till I have posted. That is why comments on the last few are sometimes missing. Can't comment on something I have not seen I hope you enjoy your trip out with friends today.

Julie managed to post again without telling us a thing about how her life is going. We do like to hear about what you are doing Julie, even though we do enjoy your recaps of the posts a lot, would like a bit that is about YOU, too.

JUNE, enjoy your trip this week. Can someone tell us topsiders something about her destination? We are at a disadvantage, not knowing Aussie geography.

TAMI, I hope Mitchell arrives safely so you can stop worrying about him traveling. Have a good weekend with one less quarelsome young male at home.

Cyn, glad to know you have alternate transportation if you need to go to downtown area. Do you know how long train station will be closed?

Cold clear weather today, lots of sunshine, and temps will moderate by mid day. I have to be out today on errands, so it is nice I can wait till it warms some.

Sister did not come yesterday. she has had a tummy bug that keeps hanging on, and needed to stay close to the facilities at home. Maybe next week we can get together, it has been a while.

Mama, I join the others in saying congratulations on the new car and reclaiming your independence.

must be off to dress and get ready for my day. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Morning all,
MizT, bummer you didn't get to see your sister. Hopefully next week.

http://www.armidale.info/ Hopefully that helps, basically it's a country town type place (well 25,000 people qualifies as a town I think), very pretty and I believe it has a university campus too.

Not much happening here today. I've been trying to make a dress for Tahli similar to simple ones mum used to make my girls. Unfortunately I don't seem to have kept one to copy from and I'm having trouble. I pulled out an old photo yesterday and hopefully that will help...

Tami, enjoy your teenager reduced weekend!

Alie has been asked to do a 'gig'. If she does it, it will be broadcast on the radio and she will get a recording of it. Fingers crossed it works out. She will miss one class at school, but she's having a tough time right now and since this is what she wants to do with her life I figured I'd let it go right now. The school year has just started so they aren't doing a lot yet anyway.

I'm biting my tongue. A facebook friend keeps posting links that are created by people with an agenda and not concerned with the science behind the claims they are making. She probably went through school before they had all the lessons about checking your sources and verifying information from 'reputable' sources etc. It won't help for me to say anything so I don't. But it's hard!!

Mitchell arrived safely and the 3 boys are not driving the 2 adults too crazy. They are having fun. Mitchell called today to say hi and will call in the morning when they leave so we can judge what time they will be home. Dylan is about to go on a sleepover and I will be logging off in a minute. See you all tomorrow.

Suzy - posts like that on FB, like the political ones that are now rife because an election has been called, used to rile me. Now I just click 'hide' and I don't have to look at them again. I have blocked/unfriended people but some you can't for many reasons. There are some people whose politics are straight out of the currents affairs shows and I believe they show their ignorance by blindly repeating them. As do these people you are talking about who do not check their sources.

Cyn, I have a 'suggested post' right now offering to tell me how to lose 18lb in one month with today's diet tip. I'm tempted to comment underneath that they shouldn't have spent their money on me because I wouldn't go near a site offering something so unhealthy with a ten foot pole. But I'm worried that if I do I'll get on their lists because I commented.

I have been having an amazing week thanks to FB. Those of you who are on it know that we have a private Sudoku Group where we can talk amongst ourselves.
After the death of my cousin just before Christmas and the terminal diagnosis given to another a few weeks ago (6-8 weeks, secondary cancers, he is 71), it occurred to me that I could start a 'Cousins' private group - these are the cousins on my Dad's side of the family. I did that last Monday and invited those who were my FB friends and asked them to invite their siblings, spouses and children who were interested. There are now 35 of us and the list keeps increasing.
My Dad was a keen photographer from when he first got his hands on a camera in the 30's, so I am sharing a lot of his photos from over the years. The response has been wonderful and best of all, my dying cousin's 3 children have been showing him everything that has been posted and it has lifted his spirits - and made him see the positive value of FB.
What has surprised me most is the enjoyment the next generation (our children) have been getting from looking at the old photos and sharing of memories and family stories and connecting up with family.

Cyn, your 'cousins' page sounds fantastic! I'm glad everyone is catching up there, but especially the cousin with cancer...

Aside: I describe the way I speak after a stroke as 'like I'm drunk', slurring words and not always making sense. Even before this one I'd have that happen to the occasional word, one word in the middle of a sentence - really weird. Today Alie told a friend I spoke like deaf people. I'd rather sound deaf than drunk so I liked that.
