Did you have an anniversary Suzy. If so congratulations.
We have not had lunch yet but the salt water makes you tired. Ken is asleep and I am having trouble typing. Catch you all again before we leave. I just had to delete two lines of 'u''s as I shut my eyes with my finger on the key!!!!!

MizT, my thoughts are with Tanya.
June, trip of a lifetime!!!
Off to make cookies. Hubby is going to his parents as per usual on Sunday ... they like my peanut butter cookies so I'll send a batch along.
If there's time I will have to do gninaelc, laundry, all the usual ffuts. Maybe if I dawdle over the cookies long enough there won't be time (awwww).

6 and a half dozen cookies done ... they're still warm so come and help yourself. I had to eat 2 because they broke apart. I ran into one problem ... I forgot to "butter" my hands before rolling the first batch into little balls. What a mess. Again, CRAFT disease struck.

About to get ready for dinner. Just had a nice sleep. Decided to do the mud thing in the morning. Not sure I am looking forwards to having to cook again when I get home. This is a wonderful resort but you need roller skates and a map to get around.

When I was out doing the morning cow check, I noticed one of the calves... a bull calf born 2 days ago... was acting listless. I came back inside and located a package of calf electrolytes, mixed it up and put it in an esophageal feeder. By the time I got back out to the calf it had already died.

I'll most likely sell the mother on Tuesday. I suspect a possible problem was that her teats are too big for the calf to nurse easily. The calf may have had some congenital defect, too. I'm not going to bother having it necropsied.

I'm sorry Heidi, I hope this is the only bad incident you have during the calving season. It makes it harder when the calf was already 2 days old.

A new day so more vibes for Tanya. Please let us know how she is doing MizT.
I'm sorry about your calf Heidi. Poor little thing.
June, it sounds like your trip is absolutely wonderful! I can't wait to see photos and hear more when you get back.
Broni, phht... hehe
Theresa, bummer about the two cookies that broke apart - what a shame you had to eat them ;-). Don't forget to post your recipe on the recipe pages!

Just had a wee bit of a nap, but I had a bit of a bad dream so it wasn't a fulfilling sleep and I'm left with a bit of an ominous feeling. In the dream I was being hunted by my boss who was trying to kill me. Towards the end I was hiding in some weeds when he spotted me (he had a gun). That's when I woke up thankfully.
I hope to get a bit more work done so I can hopefully catch some of the Canada/U.S. men's Olympic hockey game this evening. I mean no ill will towards my American sudoku friends, but I have to say GO CANADA GO.
Still thinking of Tanya, MizT. Good thoughts, good thoughts, good thoughts!!!!

Suzy, the boss in my dream was not someone I recognized. I'm self-employed at the moment, so my boss would be me!!!
I must soon swear myself. I need lots more money so I can have a maid. But my husband says if we could afford a maid, I would still clean up before she comes so she wouldn't see a mess. He's probably right.

Hello, Everyone! Just popping in for a few minutes before flinging in the K.
Hi, Heidi, Gail, Suzy, Rolanda, Broni, June and others (only up to p. 112).
Thinking positive thoughts for MizT's daughter Tanya!
June, I have wanted to visit the Dead Sea since I first heard of it. I imagined it would be easy to float in it. It never occurred to me that it would be difficult to get your legs back underneath you when you wanted to get upright again.

Since my pheasant pen is so empty now (1 pair of small birds in a 40'x60' outdoor pen& 12'x7' indoor heated pen) I just bought another pair of Grey Peacock Pheasants
and 2 pairs of Valley Quail (picture on my page). I'm also bidding on 2 new pairs of Red Golden Pheasants.

The weather here in the West is Heating Up AGAIN!!!! heading for high 30's / low 40's mid week and next weekend, a Long Weekend (Labour Day public holiday on Monday) for us,
Being a long weekend, I will be away in the Caravan, along with a group of Friends for the Annual March Long Weekend Camping..
and as normal, the weather decides... yeah, well, why not make it uncomfortably HOT for them.

I guess maybe I'm the only hockey fan. I don't usually watch a lot of hockey and don't go to live NHL games because I can't afford them. But I am Canadian and it's our national sport.
Rolanda, hope you have a great weekend next weekend in your caravan. Think of me in a parka while you're doing that.

Hi all! I'm back at work. Sorry I disappeared but I'm always so busy on my days off that I barely get time to scratch.
After I left home on Friday to go to the hairdressers at 9:30, I was only home again for half an hour before going out and then home again for another half hour before my third outing. Finally made it home at 8:30pm after picking up fish and chips for dinner.
That was how the whole weekend went. It makes me glad to get to work and stay in the one place for 8 hours (I know that's a really sad comment).
I went to a Body Shop at home party yesterday. I won the door prize - a spray on coconut scented body lotion. I've given it to Shaun to hand on to his girlfriend. It's far too young a smell for me - reminds me of the beach and suntan lotion. Nice stuff at the party but it was fairly pricey. I must check out the Body Shop next time I go shopping as I usually just walk past it.

There are a couple possible 'buy me Stephen' cars to look at in the Mazda caryard, local one and about 1/2hour or so drive suburbian one.
