Theresa, I just saw a headline that Canada beat Germany too.

Brenda, what a lovely surprise visit from your daughter.

Straight hair, curly hair - wish I had a choice! Ally straightened my hair for me a couple of months ago, I looked like a stranger. Even my girls with their love for straightening told me to wash it out.

Rolanda, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Is your van air conditioned?

Good morning all. Heidi, I'm sorry about your cat. We had a stray black one live with us for a while. He disappeared one day. A back neighbour found him dead at the bottom of her 13 back steps on a Friday. I bet they were very careful all day!

Coffee was good last night. I picked up a bracelet I had in for repairs and then we bought some new towels and bath mats. Exciting, hey, but that's the life of an old married couple.

Kevin starts his new job on Monday. He gets a new uniform - blue shirts are replaced by white ones. One of the blokes he has worked with for the last 8 years (Mick) heard about it and approached him - The conversation went like this.
Mick "I hear you are a white shirt now"
Kevin "Yes, I'm a Driver In Charge"
Mick "I'll say goodbye then. I don't speak to White Shirts"
There was stunned silence from all the men in the room. They couldn't believe what they had heard. Kevin just shrugged his shoulders. That's Mick's problem.

Victoria, it sounds like Mike is a real horse's backside (substitute a more colorful word). I wish Kevin all the best on his new job and I hope he doesn't let this bother him.

Yes the van has air conditioning. One couple are hiring a cabin this year.. an air conditioned cabin, sooooo if it is toooooo hot, guess where we will be, other than in the pool keeping cool !!!

Hi everyone!
Victoria, wow, what can you say to someone who thinks like that! Good luck to Kevin in his new job - hope the people he deals with are nice!
Rolanda, enjoy your weekend away. :)
Beautiful day today ... wish it would rain!
Heidi, do you have more calves due?
Suzy, I ALWAYS wanted curly hair! I got it cut after having it long for years, and ... YES, it curls now! (Just a bit)
Well, today we say goodbye to an old friend ... we pick up our new car! We've gone for a van again - may be driving grandkids around sometime soon ...? I hope I get the hang of it quickly, as I'll be driving it most - hope I like it...!

I think Broni means Peking Duck wrapped in a pancake. It is a very thin pancake and really good.

Or maybe, she means a duck peeking out of a pancake.

Dad came home from hospital today. He still has to be a good boy (which he is not) and use the oxygen. He needs to get his strength back but at least he is home.

Good night friends. I did read, I am too sleepy to respond to everything I read, sorry. boy the sleepies did creep up on me quickly.

Teresa, I did see that the Canadian women hockey won gold, congrats!

Heard from daughter tonight, they have done some medication changes, she seems to be doing better now. I hope she continues to improve, thanks for all the well wishes and she says thanks too.

Heidi, I did not mean cat got poison on your farmm unless Gil left something out. I just knew you would not, you are so careful about all your animals. If she is like my cats, might be far ranging and have found it elsewhere, or got a naturally occurring poison. How are your new birds settling in?

Good night to Tami and her pet rock.

Broni, any leftovers from the birthday party? that sounds sooo good.

ROLANDA, good trip, enjoy and glad you have a plan B for hot weather.

Know there were other things I should comment on, but I need toothpicks to keep my eyelids open now. Later friends. Hugs to anyone I forgot.

We got home about 4 1/2 hours ago. I have not had a sleep yet and only got about an hour since leaving Bangkok so I am very tired. It was 2 hours to HK about 3 hour wait and then 9 hours to Sydney. We were out of the airport in less the 1/2 hour. Got everything I had bought through customs. (customs very strict here. No food, animal matter, wood or plant products.)

Heidi, i am sorry about the cat. We had a cat die of unknown causes once too. It was after a spaying surgery, so the vet determined she must have had a dodgy heart.

Tami, great video. I had seen it before but well worth a second watch.

Brenda, your stone has been set beautifully. Congratulations.

MizT, I am glad your daughter sounds as if she is on the mend. Fingers crossed, also for your dad, Tami.

Good afternoon lovely people - been busy the last few days so had pages and pages to read. Now to remember what I read.
Happy Birthday to Ebob for yesterday, although at least I got to wish her HB on FB.
Heidi - sorry about the poor cat but happy you're getting more healthy calves.
Welcome back, June! We missed you.
Vicki - that fellow who works with Kevin is a creep. Good on Kevin for becoming a white-shirt.
Rolanda - have a good COOL weekend and hope the new car arrived OK.
Theresa - sorry about the insomnia.
OK - I've forgotten everything else - ah yes, Brenda's new pendant is gorgeous and what a nice surprise that your daughter came home for a visit.
Broni has been cooking up a storm.
Viv has some free time with hubby away.
MizT's been shopping.
The Winter Olympics have been exciting.
We all seem to have had a waterbed at some stage in our lives. Ours finally sprung a leak at 2am on a cold winter morning - not happy Jan.
Who else haven't I mentioned? Hi to Julie, Suzanne, Gail, oh and Tami the teasing teacher (new name)!! Cheers!

Am I the only one here who's never had a waterbed? I suppose my imagination is too vivid. I keep picturing what would happen if dog nails or teeth punctured it. I'd have to build an ark.

I'm off to do a cow check now. Then to bed. I have a busy day tomorrow, then an early day on Saturday. I'm helping out at an estate auction.... the possessions of a fellow Lion who passed recently: Charlotte, who I told you about before. One of her things that has caused a lot of interest and excitement is a stun gun. Kinda like a taser. Nearly everyone I've talked to wants it. IH is terrified that I'll get it.

Thanks. Nice to be home. I have had a bit of a sleep and now to cook some easy dinner. Some pork chops, potatoes, peas and carrots and a bit of salad. Simple and tasty after all the buffet meals and different flavours.
I will have to sort a few photos and put up over the next few days! I have taken over 800. Ken has a lot as well and also some video.
Love the pendant Brenda. Saw a lot of that stone in South Africa a couple of years ago but do not see much of it here. I did not get any as I really have more good jewellery than I need.

Heidi, if not a stun gun, how about a cattle prod?
I have never had a waterbed either, Heidi. We have always had cats and I too figured punctures in the middle of the night might not be terrific.
Yes, Canada's women's hockey has won. Men's hockey continues tonight against Slovakia.
Rolanda, hope your weekend is terrific!
Victoria, Mick sounds like the kind of person to avoid. For 8 years I worked in a warehouse environment, but in the office mostly. I found that when someone moved up the ladder and had to supervise people they had worked alongside of, it was always a sticky situation. I guess it's a case of sour grapes.
Well, back to work for me ... I'm on a bit of a tight deadline. I was just taking a break and reading, but I too forget easily what I've read. BTW, welcome home June.

Sorry about your cat Heidi. Good luck at the auction. Nice to hear about all the calves. Future income!
Tami, I gather your father has been ill again. Thoughts and prayers for him.
Hope you will enjoy your weekend Rolanda.
I like Peeking ( the original name we gave Bejing) Duck! We had some while in Bejing a couple of years ago and better there than anywhere else I have tasted it.

We currently are experiencing wind gusts up to 60 km/hour. I kept hearing strange noises and looked out the window. Wow! The howling of the wind sounds very Halloween like. The temp is hovering around the 0 mark, so it's not too cold at least.

Victoria, congrats on your Hubbies promotion. The other chap is not worth thinking about.
I love watching the Olympics and there was very little shown on TV in Egypt and Jordan. Guess the holiday was more important and the time to go otherwise it gets to hot over there!
