I'd better feed dogs and do a cow check. I need to be at the estate auction in just over 8 hours.

The auction doesn't start until 10 am, but I'm working there. The Lion's Club is running the concession stand. I have to be there early to cook.

Dropping in without reading... hubby decided it was fine to let me nap until 5.30, after all we don't need to be at the dinner dance until 6.30 - my hair is still wet and I have no makeup on!!!

Morning all.
Suzy, when I said 0 F, I meant 0 C for temperature. You are right 0 F would be very cold.
Good luck at the estate auction, Heidi.
Julie, the cat rescue does get some donations of food and other items, but it's just never enough. Right now it's the vet bills that are the worst. Funding is always a problem. If only people would learn to spay and neuter their pets!

I'm up at this ungodly hour. Now I need to get dressed, do a cow check, then take off for the auction. I had to get on the 'pooter to check the weather forecast to see how to dress..... Gail.

Off to bed. I eventually slept in till nearly 11am today, then did some shopping. Have watched TV tonight but at this rate the body clock will not get back into the right time zone. Still felt 'floating' today but a lot more 'normal' tonight!

Hey gang! Lovely Julie stopped by wondering where I had gotten off to...like I wrote to her, sometimes it seems so overwhelming to me trying to keep up as the pages pile up.
But wanted to stop in and say all is well here - except for the unreal amounts of rain we've been getting. Guess I'll just count it as a blessing.
So good to see you back, June. Looking forward to pictures
OK - off to get something done around the house besides computer play!

Back from the auction. There was a huge crowd there. I DID get the stun gun (only $5.00!!!) and a fire axe. There were a few other items I wanted but didn't get.... there was a jerk there who was running up bids on nearly everything, so high that if you really wanted it, you'd have to pay much more than it was worth. Everybody else there was mad at him. He's got a history of going bankrupt ( 5 times in the last 12 years that I know of) and acts like a big spender. Most people there believe that his check to the auction company is going to bounce. He bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff.

Heidi, glad you got the stun gun. Try not to use it too often on IH.
Vici, even if you don't read all the pages, post occasionally. I don't read easy too often anymore. My friends are all here.
Hi to everyone else. Have a busy weekend and just taking a few minutes for myself. One more week until the big state test and then things will be back to normal at school, not that I think anything at school is normal.

Good Morning All.
Julie, thank you for your very informative updates.
Heidi, good vibes to you and all the machinery as well!
Doepy here has almost run out of internet allowance this month so will only be around for a short time for the next week.
All those on the east coast of Australia and elsewhere in the world be careful and stay away from the beaches and stay safe with the Tsunami coming, SA vibe to the Chile people.

Heidi, that fall sounds nasty. How are you doing today? Since the bull vibes seemed to have worked well I'll send out some back vibes too...
Theresa, 0C sounds much better, though still way too cold. And I love the sound of your sticker sandwich!
Heidi, glad the day was a success.
Broni, I hope your boat is safe and the tsunami doesn't hit your area. Another natural tragedy to send out healing vibes to...

I'm sure I had more than that to say but seem to have lost stuff changing pages... drat!
Last night was fun. I found out what Shack stands for. Shoalhaven Heads Apex Cottage for Kids. It's a cottage near the beach for the families of kids with cancer to rent to have an affordable holiday. They are charged something like $30 for a week, which doesn't even cover the cost of cleaning, and have a week near the beach to relax and forget their troubles for a while.
Hubby won a silk scarf lucky door prize - which of course he gave to me, and of course Ally wore it for the rest of the night.
The donations for the auction were extraordinary. People give so much of themselves for these causes. There was even a quilt!

Hello, Heidi, Suzy, Gail, Theresa, June, Vibrant Vici, Tami, and Broni!
Hi to anyone else who pops in here before I get back!
Heidi, I hope you and the other Lions had a profitable concession at the estate sale! I hope all the standing & cooking wasn't too painful for you! Did you wear your Lion cap? (Got your PM.) What a shame that a jerk drove up prices, then will probably have his check bounce. That prevents someone who wanted an object from getting it and paying for it. Does the stun gun work?
The K room (and hubby's hungry tummy) await.
Suzy, were you able to get ready on time for the dinner dance? I hope it was fun!
Theresa, prayers for the cat rescue and the lady who runs it! After many discussions with my friend who has a dog rescue (breed specific in name to Labradors, but she takes any dogs, including pregnant and new litters, from the kill shelters), I understand that the vet bills are by far the most draining on a budget.
June, I'm glad you had some sleep and feel better today. It's going to take a while to get back to feeling "normal," so keep working on that sleep!
Vici, it's nice to see you here! We're always glad to know a friend is OK! As Tami says, don't worry about keeping up with the reading, just pop in & let us know you're OK! At least with all the rain you're getting, hopefully there won't be worries about fires in your area later in the year!
AGGGHHH! State tests, Tami! YUCK! I know it will be a huge relief to get them over with and get on with the business of teaching! They're a part of teaching I don't miss! Good luck to all of your students - and the Beastie Boys, of course! Hugs to Bobbi & Bernie!
Broni, the same advice for you as for Vici! Don't worry about keeping up with the reading! With your internet allowance getting low, just do a quick pop-in and say Hi! (And this was a short month.) Will your boat be safe from the tsunami?
Suzy, I'm glad the fundraiser/dinner went well! Congrats on winning a beautiful scarf which he gave to you and you generously allowed Ally to wear!

The stun gun SHOULD work. I haven't tried it yet because I don't have a battery the right size. The auctioneer (a fellow Lion, btw) took out the batteries to prevent an accident at the auction.
I think the only reason that I got what I did, and so cheaply, is because they held the auction for Charlotte's car outside at the same time that the firearms, and a few other things, were being auctioned inside. The jerk also won the auction for the car.

Heidi, sorry about your dad. My father has been gone a long time ... 20 years. We didn't get along so well, but I really miss my mom. It's the anniversaries and holidays that are the hardest.
What are your plans for the stun gun, or should I ask?
Nice to see you Vici.
Hi Julie, I always love reading your comments.
The grandies were just over for an hour sitting in front of the fireplace and being relatively quiet for them.
Busy day, 4 loads of laundry, groceries, 2 batches of muffins, stripped beds ...... just about ready for bed.

I don't have any plans for the stun gun. I just thought it would be a cool thing to have. I might keep it in my truck when I have to drive into a city. I don't like the idea of carrying a deadly weapon for protection when I go anywhere, but a stun gun won't kill. I do have a revolver, but it's used only for putting animals down.

Hi All,
Still lots of snow around and they don't seem to know how to keep it out of the forecast, but counting my blessings that we have not had anything as devastating as the earthquakes that have hit China and Chile. Sending heartfelt prayers to those affected.
Meanwhile, I'm getting a small taste of spring as I watch the beautiful and creative gardening of Bean and Kate on Face book...those two are so funny, creative and competitive that its a joy to see...shame all of you can't check their work out. The Philadelphia International Flower Show starts tomorrow, but I'm not sure I'll get a chance to get there, although I am going to try...any touch of spring would be welcomed right now...
Hugs and best wishes to all...will make an attempt to do a little reading to find out what I've been missing.

Ow! My next door neighbour and the horses owner were trapped in our back shed by whatever that was. The shed was leaking like a sieve. I got them a garbage bag rain coat and umbrellas, but slipped on the kitchen floor because my feet were so wet. I didn't feel anything at the time, but now.... OW!!
