Just stopping in for a minute. Best wishes for all who need it. June, I agree about the hot slidy thing. It can wait, friends can't.

I wasn't paying attention to the numbers and didn't even realize it was time for a topp. Good thing I am not trying to avoid them this time

Greetings Sudokuland.

Approach with caution, bring disinfectant spray.

I is sick. Major tummy wog, I have been confined to bed and bathroom all day today. Was thinking a trip to ER might be necessary and even beneficial, but perhaps I am over the worse now. Send good healing energy please, still need it.

Hugs and back to my bed, boy that was a long 2 steps to the puter hehehe.

Rolanda, first reading, I thought you had a storm in your photo gallery and was wondering how that happened.

Poor MizT. I hope you . Tummy wogs are no fun. Only good for losing weight. And nobody wants to lose weight that way.

It will be good afternoon by the time I type this.
Dag, thinking of you and sis, hope your headache stays away.
June, hope you went to bowls and your headache is subsiding.
Rolanda, from what I saw on the news those storms looked scarey.
MizT, hope you are feeling a bit better.

Had a long chat with mum over the phone, we (she) decided that a visit from moi this morning may not be a good thing. Another storm ( not as bad) heading our way. She (and I) doesnt want me driving in it.
So we have put a 'raincheck' on the visit to another day sometime this week!

Good maEn everyone. MizT, I hope you are feeling better soon.
Regarding Sandra, I spoke to her (briefly, she was on the other line with my mom). My mom called after that and told me not to call her, she was cranky, which is not like her at all. My mom also told me that when I called her, to keep the conversation short and not to go into a lot of detail about what is happening in my life...Seems like my mom thinks she doesn't care much about anyone else at the moment. Any input on how I should handle this????? Sandra & I have always been close, it's kind of hard for me to act distant, but I think if that's what I have to do, then so be it.

Rolanda: Saw your photos of the storm, can relate to the power outages, we have them a lot here. Beautiful photo of the sunset at the end of the storm. Also looks like you are a TERRIFIC gardener. Your flowers are gorgeous.

Our hospital system is stuffed Heidi, they probably had to re schedule her because they had an emergency needing an op or one of the operations took longer than expected. Well that is my guess.

Sorry I missed your question Heidi...
Nothing drastic I should think, but it is one of the problems with our public health system - too many surgeries, not enough theatres.
Because her surgery is not life-threatening, it would get bumped down the list if other surgeries have to take priority.

Afternoon all!
Gail, sorry to hear about your sisters surgery. I hope they get their acts together tomorrow. So far we've been lucky and been able to go private so all happens when it's supposed to. If I do anything about my jaw I'll have to go public though...

MizT, sorry to hear about your tummy bug! I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this!!

Suzanne, my advice about your aunt - acceptance. People get older, some younger than others if you know what I mean, and they change. Rememeber who she has been and cherish those memories, but accept that maybe she is a different person now. You can still love her for what she has been to you while adjusting your relationship. It's not distance, it's actually closer in a lot of ways as you become the carer. Cyn would be a good one to talk to about that. It's sad, but it happens a lot. Sending hugs to you to go along with my 2 cents worth!!!!

Rolanda, you were so lucky to avoid damage with all of that water and wind. I hope the next storm doesn't aggravate things. It's very nice that your mother was thoughtful and didn't want you to drive in that weather.

Julie, I hope the things keeping you busy are fun, worthwhile and enjoyable!!

June, enquiring minds want to know - what did you do today?

Yes Suzy, I did go to bowls. It was very hot and they made me 'Skip'. I seldom play that position and the opposing skip is very good. However i had a very good game and she did not play well so my team ended up winning 24-12 and I also won a frozen chicken!
The leads were two very new players, seconds were in their 80's (one is 87) but we all enjoyed the game. The other chore will wait!

Some great storm photos, Rolanda.
Gail hope your sister makes the surgery tomorrow. It is the mental preparation that is the biggest let down.
MizT, hope the tummy bug is better by the time you read this.
Suzanne, I think you just have to concerntrate when you ring Sandra and guage her mood at the time. Then you wil know when to cut the conversation. Just let her do the talking.

What a mix of skills June. I guess that is the benefit of playing social bowls. It sounds like a good day - especially winning a chicken!

I am up early morning having coffee! Not what most can tolerate as first food after tummy problems, but over the years, I have been able to keep coffee down when nothing else would stay. I am better, but then, I would have had to get better to die hehehe. Waiting for pain reliever to kick in here now, then back to bed.

I read, but things did not stick, perhaps tomorrow. Hugs to everyone and thanks for the get well messages. Like Heidi, I do not get a lot of TLC here, hubby is not a care giver. Makes your messages extra special to me.

Here's an extra hug from me, then, MizT. If you get enough sleep, you'll sleep thru' some of the bug. When it comes to food, I find it best to start with chamomile tea and crackers. Chamomile was originally taken as a remedy for an upset tummy and 'Flu. It actually helps!

Good Maen everyone. Thanks for the 2 cents Suzy. Sometimes an objetive opinion is helpful.
Glad you are feeling a bit better MizT. Hugs from me too... I finally slept ok last night. Darrell worked overtime last night. We got a dusting of the white stuff last night. YUCK!
