Not much new here, either. Just the same old insanity.

OK, Gail, it's nearing 2:30 am, so I will go to bed. But you'd better leave an update here as soon as you know anything. Rain has the habit of getting me up several times during the night to let her out, and I check in on the pooter while waiting for her.

Have messaged other sister for news, and she has none as yet, so we have to assume surgery is in progress. I will let SA know as soon as I do Heidi, I promise!

Good news Gail. I hope your sister now recovers with no setbacks.
Hope you are soon feeling better Rolanda.
Hang in there Broni. I think you are keeping D&D going.
Hope you are sleeping well Heidi.
Off to bed for me. Umpiring at Bowls tomorrow.

Gail, good to know your sister's op is over. Here is to a speedy recovery for her!

Rolanda, I see you and your Mom had a nice cuppa together, and you did good, friend, home and to a nap. that is how you do it, do a bit, rest a bit. Speedy recovery for you too.

June, enjoy the bowls tomorrow.

Suzy, hope your dinner out was enjoyable. Two weeks to wait for doc, as bad as here with my doc, but at least mine can usually " call in something" if they can't get you in, or else " work you in" which meals you will be there till after dark.

Heidi, you were right about tummy bug, only thing it is good for is dropping weight. I have done that and as hubby said to me yesterday "the hard way". Still cannot eat or drink much without more of the same that I have had too much of. Enough already! But I can get more than a sip down at a time, so that is progress, right?? this 24 hour bug is headed to 3 days now.

I had my 7-up and crackers, now back to bed to see if they will sit still a while. Hugs to all.

I'm SO glad the surgery is over, Gail. Now I'm on pins and needles to hear how it went.

MizT.... I need to thank you. It is a very generous thought, but I'd rather NOT share your tummy bug. I spent most of the night feeling nauseous, and still do, tho' nothing has escaped yet.

Heidi, sorry you are nauseous, but I did warm you to approach only with proper isolation procedures. I must be Typhoid Tricia, spewing germs cause Al is throwing up now, and I have started again. I have called the doc for meds. a 24 hour bug I can treat myself, not a 3 day one! AAAAAAAAAAGHHHH

I need to add a surgical mask smilie. I don't have the proper protection to approach you, apparently. This type of mask doesn't work.

Hi all, just finished the case and am now waiting for the courier, he'll be here some time between 2:00 and 4:00. After he leaves I'll hit the hay for a longish nap. Hubby's supper is in the fridge and just needs to be nuked.
Gail, glad to hear your sister's operation is over. Sending good vibes for a speedy recovery.
MizT, I was under the weather last week and it lasted (I hate to say it) about five days. I barely left the house. I too lost some weight (but not nearly enough). It left me feeling tired and drained all the time. Hope your problems are soon gone. You too, Heidi.
Glad you enjoyed yourself at the dinner Heidi. Hope your dinner was really enjoyable Suzy.

Heidi, empathy medal for you today... MizT's tummy bug and wondering about Gail's sis...

MizT, I hope things settle down soon. That's a long time to be throwing up. A problem that I have seen is that if you have to go to the hospital for dehydration it will have to be by ambulance as neither of you are well enough to drive. It is almost 5 hours since you posted so I am sending SA vibes and crossing everything that you are having a nice sleep to help you get over this.

June, I hope it is a nice day for your umpiring - not too hot or cold.

Rolanda, I'm glad you got to visit with your mother without having to do her shopping with her etc. Work your way up to it!

Morning all! Empty house.

Ditto what Suzy said. Get Well MizT and hubby, Heidi, and glad to hear Rolanda is improving (English isn't too good first thing in the mornings but I'm sure you understood what I mean).
Last working day of the week for me today. Yippee! Hairdressers tomorrow and a shoe/handbag party on Saturday evening. That's all my plans for 3 days off. No mother visiting this weekend so we will probably end up at MILs instead.
Breakfast time now, have a great day everyone.

Last night's dinner was a pre-Outward Bound dinner. The students who have been chosen by Lions for sponsorship were introduced to the members of the club. Lions did not choose the best and the brightest for this sponsorship, they chose kids who need a bit of a push to develop confidence and/or to get themselves back on the straight and narrow. The method they used was perfect for these kids - they had to sit with a table of Lions for dinner, swap tables for desert etc. When they come back they will have to stand up in front of the group and speak about their experiences.

H was socially inept, but very likeable. M was the opposite socially. She is a competitive debater etc with plans to become a lawyer. Her father is a Gulf War Vet with PTSD. S is finding the social atmosphere at school has demotivated her and she isn't trying at all in her classes. I didn't get to meet the other girl, but Ebob did and she said she is very shy. She looked shy. It seemed like the Lions members who made the selections are very savvy.

Have a great day Vicki! Don't tell Ally that there is such a thing as a shoe/handbag party!!! When my old handbags are past their use-by date she snaffles them and has a huge collection, and don't start me talking about my shoes....

I'm glad I'm not young anymore. When we got home last night I did a quick drop in as my zoo was expecting a couple of babies. I scanned down my fb wall and found two posts, one after the other. A young male friend (son of a friend) posted about not finding the right person. A young female friend (know her through singing) posted the same sort of thing! They don't know each other and I am not planning on introducing them to each other, but I thought it was ironic to see the posts one after the other on my wall...

I'm still nauseous, but I've added body aches and a fever. I cancelled my dental cleaning for tomorrow so I won't give this to them. To keep from spreading it around here any more, I got a mask.

I haven't heard any more this morning from sis. Have sent her a message asking if she is up to visitors this arvo, but haven't heard back as yet.
D#3 has school parent/teacher interviews soon, so she, hubby and I are going out to grab brunch beforehand and just heard him turn the shower off, so I am out of here!
Later friends :)

Did I forget to mention that we have a leak somewhere???? There's a possibility that the whole of the supply water line may need to be replaced, but for now we are going with elimination steps to make sure that is actually the problem. It's pretty messy out there!

Good Morning All.
Good to see CynB drop in.
Healing wishes for MizT and hubby, Heidi and Rolanda.
Zusy hope your water problems are solved.
Dag, hopefully sis is OK and up to visitors.
Heidi, I still remember 20 odd years ago 8 pins and a plate in my ankle, one was straight thru the top of my foot holding my ankle joint together. 8 weeks non weight bearing then had to learn to walk all over again.
June hope the umpiring is fun.
Vicki how did you manage to get a day off?

Hi all. Just stopping in for a minute using son #1 laptop. He is playing video games with dad.
Hubby bought me a present today. It is a watch that has a cartoon picture of a little girl and it says "little miss trouble" I think my hubby knows me a little too well.

Good morning all - 2 days in a row, what next? No, seriously, I miss the camaraderie of this page.
Broni - I got your text message at, wait for it, 1.20am this morning - and, no, I wasn't stupid enough to think you had just sent it. I imagine it was flying around in the ether for hours before it finally filtered through to my phone. So, hi to you also!!
Suzy - I'd get those 2 together - that is fate/kismet - too much of a coincidence - the gods are telling you to do it!
Best wishes to those not feeling well and for Gail's sister's recovery.

Checking in with an update. No escaping fluids since this morning for me, nor hubby since early afternoon. Strong meds did the trick. Al got the nausea meds, and I got the diarrhea meds. I was actually able to eat a few bites of rice mid afternoon and so far so good. Just weak as a kitten.

been trying to get fluids in hubby, waking him every hour for a few sips, to keep him hydrated. He has slept all day. Me, just rested in my recliner, watching him in his recliner.

Suzy, I did manage to drive to the pharmacy, it is not far and not much traffic, I did OK I guess cause I got back home.

Sad news from my sister today. Her first grandchild was born this morning, and severe complications. He is not breathing on his own, his kidneys are not working, and no one knows why at the moment. The docs are not offering a lot of hope for him.

Miz T. Glad you and hubby are feeling a little better. My thoughts and prayers are with the new grandbaby. Hope they can find out what is wrong. I never like hearing about babies being sick. They are only supposed to be cute and cuddly.

Oh, no, MizT. Sad news indeed. I would worry most about brain damage and the baby's future quality of life if it makes it.
If you think about the entire process of development in the womb, it's a miracle that more problems don't occur. It starts with a single cell being fertilized, then it splits in two, then four, and keeps dividing. As the dividing continues, the cells differentiate into organs, blood, veins, brain cells, skin, bones, etc. I am amazed when it goes right so often. If I didn't think about that, I would fall apart when baby animals are stillborn or die soon after birth.

My bug has gotten worse. The body aches are almost out of control. I hurt over every inch of my body. Plus I have a fever and can't stop shivering, though it's 67℉ / 19.4℃ outside and warmer inside. I'm bundled up in heavy clothes that I wear when it's below freezing. The nausea hasn't gotten worse, but it hasn't gotten better either.

Oh, one more thing. IH didn't pay the electric bill, and I didn't find out about it until it was too late. It was supposed to be paid over 4 hours ago, at the very latest. I found out about it 3 hours ago. The power will be turned off at 8 am tomorrow.

MizT, I'm so very sorry about your sister's grandchild. Heart breaking!! Sending thoughts and wishes to the families across the ocean...

Glad to hear that your bug has settled down some, even though you had to risk the drive to the pharmacy. That would have been nerve wracking for you! Sleep well!

Heidi, you sound absolutely miserable too! Cyber germs seem to be the worst!!!!!

Cyn, it's about time you showed your face in here... which reminds me, I need to change my avatar to something that doesn't show up quite so much - too much pink on the pages these days...

Off to get my car registered...
