Cyn... Yes, we get a reminder notice and a months grace, too. IH likes to wait for the very last second to pay anything, 'cause he doesn't like to part with money one second before it's absolutely necessary. Of course, he's always paying late fees by doing that.
He's the one who goes down the driveway to get the mail every day, except when he's out of town, so I don't see the bills and reminders. He gets yelled at every month, but it makes no difference.

MizT, I'm sorry to hear about your sister's Grandson. What a terrible time for them all.

Heidi, you sound like you have the flu. Can you get to the doctors or have them call on you?
Boo Hiss to IH for not paying the electricity bill.

I've just rung my electricity company (I've just changed suppliers) as I haven't received a bill. I know they read the meter late in January. They didn't know why I hadn't been sent the bill but it has now arrived and is due next week - there goes another $400+.
This is the time of the year when a lot of my bills arrive. Over a two-three month period, we pay 3 car registrations, 2 car insurances, house and contents insurance plus the usual rates, electricity, phones, medical insurance etc. Two of the cars also need to be serviced under warranty.
I don't think I'll be buying very much at the shoe/handbag party on Saturday ... well, maybe I'll buy just a little bit. I have checked out their website though.

Vicki - we had that in February (all the bills at once) - and we had the trouble with our electricity supplier (Jack Green) who had gone out of business, given our name to another (Origin) who had mixed names and addresses - it was one big mess but sorted now, bill received and paid.
Suzy - I like your pink flowers - I'll change mine.

The electricity CAN be paid by credit card, but only during business hours. They close at 5pm. They will disconnect the power, then reconnect it once the bill is paid after 8am.

Heidi, we can pay by credit card or BPay (direct from your account) 24 hours a day, any bill that has BPay. It's very useful.

This is Kentucky. Hillbilly country. The technology to do that is too advanced for any of the power companies or our phone company/ internet provider. Yes, our internet provider can't figure out how to let us pay the bill on line or over the phone.

Heidi, the body ache and shivering sound familiar. Sunday night, fore the tummy involvement, I was freezing, dressed in polar fleece, and under a heavy double faced polar fleece blanket, with the heating pad to my back!! this has seemed like an old fashioned intestinal flu in many ways. Neighbor who was at the picnic Saturday came over today, he had same Monday and Tuesday and reports one other was also sick. NOT food poisoning cause we ate no food or drink in common. Whatever, it was very contagious.

I was in the middle of logging off and remembered that I wanted to vent something...

Yesterday Ebob walked from town to hubby's work so she could get a ride home. For the last part of the walk someone was following her. She was nervous but thought she was being silly because he could have just been going to the same place as she was - people do all of the time, it's not an isolated area - until she arrived and he just turned around and walked back the way he'd come! The poor kid was terrified.

MizT, my thoughts are with you and your sister's family.
Best wishes little bub, hope you are a fighter.

I received a message from my sis just before we got to brunch. She has asked if we skip visiting today, she has had a meltdown after trying to use the crutches for the first time, and is feeling overwhelmed by it all. She hopes to be home by Saturday and has asked if can wait till then, which of course is fine by me.

Heidi - do you mean you don't have access to internet banking even? I'd be lost without it - I just receive a bill, set it up to pay on the due date - nobody gets a cents of free interest out of my money - and forget about it. It just goes through automatically.

Hello, Friends inside my computer! Do you all have face-to-face friends who look at you like you're a little off when you start talking about your friends in Sudokuland? Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive, but it seems like people look at me quizzically as I describe my friends in Australia and Tasmania and England and all over the U.S.

Hi, Heidi, Broni, Gail, Suzy, Victoria, CynB, Rolanda, June, MizTricia, Theresa, Vicki, Tami the Troublemaker and anyone I've missed!

Wow, Heidi, you're already planning for the trip to Millionaire's Row at Churchill Downs?

Broni, I agree! Theresa certainly has a way with words - asking her grandies not to date their masterpieces drawn in dust, & the more recent about if her brains were dynamite. And that was after only 3 hours of sleep following 20 hours of work!

Broni, your recall of your ankle repair from 20 years ago is quite vivid.

Victoria, I'm so sorry you & your hubby weren't able to get away to celebrate your anniversary. However, your planned future trips sound like they may make up for it! Have fun in May and August!

Suzy, how was the Outward Bound dinner!

CynB, it's so nice to see you here again. We have missed you! That other place can really eat up time, can't it?

Gail, I am SO glad to hear that your sister's surgery is finished! Sending positive vibes for a speedy recovery!

Rolanda, it's great that the driving was a bit easier, though still so tiring! Each day will get a bit better! Pace yourself!

June, I hope you will enjoy umpiring bowls!

MizT, I'm glad you were feeling a bit better - until the relapse. I hope this bug leaves you soon! And now you've shared it with Al and Heidi! Positive vibes for ALL of you to feel better soon!

Theresa, where have you been hiding your Superwoman cape? My goodness - both cases done - on time- and dinner for your hubby in the refrigerator! I can't compete!

Vicki, have fun at the hairdresser's - and at the shoe & handbag party on Saturday!

Suzy, the pre-Outward Bound dinner sounded like a good introduction to the students. It should be easier when they get back & need to get up & speak, that they feel like they know some of the members! Good luck with the leak & the plumber!

Tami, great present from your hubby! Will you post a picture of your watch?

MizT, I am SO sorry to hear about the difficulties for your sister's grandchild! Sending LOTS of positive vibes for the little guy - and for the doctors trying to sort out the cause of his difficulties!

Heidi, I hope you soon feel MUCH better - maybe even good enough to let IH know how you feel about the electricity being turned off because he didn't pay the bill! Will you have to drive somewhere to pay it tomorrow while feeling so sick? Is there anyone nearby who can help?

Oh, dear, Suzy, poor Ebob (and poor you for now having to worry). Perhaps we should think something positive and the person was being a "guardian angel" and seeing to it that she reached her destination. Certainly hoping that was the case!

Gail, I can't believe your sister was up on crutches already! (I NEVER used crutches when my knees were replaced. In fact, I think I only saw one person on them, and she just had one replaced. Most of us at rehab were using walkers.) No wonder she was a bit (or a LOT) overwhelmed. Hugs & positive vibes to her. Baby steps and a bit better each day!

CynB, love this avatar of yours. Beautiful colors! We don't do any of our bill paying by computer, but beginning to think that it's the way to go. I think you can even specify on which day the money is transferred (at least in the Chicago area).

I wasn't able to get IH on his cell phone... he probably forgot the charger again... so I sent him an irate e-mail, since I knew he took his 'pooter with him. He just got back to me that he'll pay the electric bill over the phone first thing in the morning.
I also let him know how sick I am. I think that's made him nervous because he's delayed his departure for several hours and probably won't be home 'til midnight.

Sending good vibes to your sis Gail, I remember how hard it was to learn to walk with crutches, they would not let me go home until I could walk up and down stairs with them, was so relieved when I finally got in the car to go home that I burst into tears.
Hi Julie, great summary again.
It was getting too quiet without you here Cyn.

Rolanda, hope your Mom gets the care she needs in a timely fashion and is as good as new soon. Too much sick and bad news here. Anybody got any good news to share???

Gail, I never learned to walk with crutches when I broke my ankle a few years ago. I remember breaking into tears when I could not get up the steps coming home from the ER. Two days later, hubby built the ramp that we have used so much since. Handy for wheeling in groceries and suppies. I think your sis made a wise decision to delay company till she is home. Hope everyone who visits will bring lunch to share with her.

Hubby would not take his nausea pill when I wanted to give to him after 6 hours, just cause he was not vomiting then. Two hours later, yep, you guessed it. THEN he would not take it cause he WAS nauseated. MEN. . . A bit later, I did wake him and he got it down with a sip of ginger ale.

Heidi, do consider checking in with doc fore Friday. IF you have flu, you can get tamiflu within first 72 hours, it does no good after that. It had been too long for me.

OK, looks like hubby is not gonna have any more vomiting at the moment, best get me to bed now. Hugs to all.

Home again. I registered the car and bought a personal alarm for Ebob. We already have the rule that she can't walk alone in isolated areas, not a hard rule, but a strict guideline, and now she can feel a little safer in public areas.

Rolanda, mothers!! I hope she is better quickly now that she is letting herself be looked after.

MizT, husbands!! I hope he listens to you in 6 hours time!

Heidi, husbands!! Say no more.

Gail, feeling for your sister. I hope her next attempt at mobility is easier and things improve from here. I'm guessing you didn't get much information so wouldn't know if she has a walking cast. Sending vibes across the airwaves to her.

Broni, I have never had to use crutches - should have one time but they didn't have any short enough for me at the Uni student health centre. Pain in the toosh from what I can see. Sending vibes into the past for you... hehe

Rolanda I hope your mum gets better quickly.

Suzy, has Ebob got a mobile. Maybe she could phone her Dad and talk loudly about thinking someone is following her (if it happens again). That might be enough to embarrass the other person - especially if she said it when someone is coming towards her and hears.

Well, it's nearly time to finish at work for the week. I'll try to get on over the weekend but if not, stay happy, healthy and safe.
