Hi everyone! Lots of dramas here lately - hope all the sickies feel better soon: sounds like some nasty bugs going around.
Sending positive, hopeful thoughts for Rolanda's Mum, and for baby Ian, and for anyone else that needs them.
It's the weekend! And I seem to be sniffling and sneezing quite a bit ... mmmm, it's nothing, it's nothing, it's nothing .... hope that works! :)
Hope you all have a great weekend, ciao!

My Avatar is the University of Kentucky logo. It's time for March Madness, the contest for the National Championship in College basketball, a religion in Kentucky. Kentucky is favored to win the whole thing yet again.

Evening all!
Another dramatic day in this looney household, but all settled down now and everything is peaceful.
Sending hugs, thoughts, wishes and vibes to:
Rolanda's Mum
Baby Ian
Gail's Sis
All belly ache people
John
There are others that haven't been mentioned in a while, which inevitably means that I'm not able to remember them right now. Of course I will as soon as I log off! Isn't that always the way? Well, it is with a leaky brain like mine anyway. The hugs, thoughts, wishes and vibes go out to you all anyway. Except Judy of course as there is nothing wrong with her!!!!

Evening everyone.
Visited Mum this evening, she is doing ok.
Mum did have a Heart Attack, they are still doing tests, not sure if she has a 'clot in the lungs' or not. The possiblity of another Heart Attack has not been ruled out!
She is comfortable, and bored!!
And will be in Hospital for a couple days at least.
And she regrets she didnt ring us on Wednesday Evening.
Heading to bed.. Goodnight

Poor Broni. I had a night like that last night. I think it was due to too many aspirin for the massive headache I had.
Just tagged another bull calf! First calf born in 10 days. It looks like we have 5 or 6 cows to go
, including our favorite cow, Sassy. She's so big that she may have twins. She's had them before.

Hate to say it Heidi, but I think chocolate and me do not get along anymore.
Congrats on the bull calf, hope Sassy has twins will make up for the one you lost.
Hope you are feeling better today.

Actually, I love Sassy's calves so much... they all have her sweet disposition... that if she has twins it'll make up for at least 2 of those losses. I keep her daughters, granddaughters, great granddaughters, etc. for the breeding herd.

Broni, what is happening with you in relation to chocolate? Not fair if chocolate is giving you problems, we NEED chocolate. Perhaps I should try some chocolate pudding today, since I am ordered to have bland foods, pudding is bland, right??
Heidi, Was Sassy able to successfully nurse both calves when she had twins? Gee, I had that headache too, forgot about that, was so long ago, it seems. It did go away after a couple days though. Body aches are the special of the day today, back and across my waist, it changes daily or by the hour it seems. Pqain medcs not working on this yet.
I just tossed all the leftovers in my fridge, we have not cooked a meal since Friday last, am sure anything still there was not good, not going to chance it. Took it out to the back property line to dump, cause that is nearer to the dogs who would get it if I put it in my trash cans. Save them a trip and me from picking up all the other trash they scatter everywhere. HOpe the kitties appreciate my effort, they freak if the dogs get that close to thier safe place on the back deck.
I made a bit of chicken soup from some of the baked chicken a neighbor brought us from the grocery. It was soooo good, but sitting heavy. I am soo tired of this. Just that bit of ffuts and I am exhausted. perhaps a nap is in order, IF the phone will stop ringing. All hubbies playmates phone to see how he is doing and then ask him questions about all kinds of things. Latest was, how much will wire cost to connect this friend's daughter's new mobile home to power. ONE, no idea of the current price per foot for wire. Since the home has not yet been delivered, no idea how far it will be set from the power box ( mobiles power box are on a pole on the property) and no idea where the box inside the mobile is located. Only thing I would have told him is, it gonna be EXPENSIVE, price of electrical wire has escalated in the past few years. But Al is so patient with his friends, telling this one again and again what kind of wire he will need, and what 2 companies he should call to get a quote per foot for it.

Good Morning MizT,
Have to be careful of anything with preservatives in it, cooking at lot more things from scratch nowadays. Now if I could on put on some weight I would be happy.
Hope you and Al are starting to feel better. This virus I have had is still hanging around.
Might try going back to bed now, hopefully I can sleep.
Catch you all later.

No. Sassy did not nurse both calves, but not for want of trying. One twin was born with dummy calf syndrome. It had no instinct to suckle, and no interest in mom. Sassy kept trying to get it to nurse for a few hours, then we intervened. That calf was a nightmare to deal with. I had to feed it by stomach tube several times a day, and it didn't like it. I had to wrestle him to the ground since he wouldn't let me do it the easy way, extend his neck and insert the tube into the esophagus, then into the stomach while holding the bag of warm milk over his head. (It has to be inserted down the left side of the throat so it doesn't go down into the lungs.) His way to fight me was to go into a roll like a crocodile with it's prey. This went on for over a week until he finally got his suckle reflex and I could switch him to a bottle. I've never seen this, or heard of this with a calf before, but had it happen with a Thoroughbred filly. The actual name for this is Dummy Foal Syndrome. It's not known why it happens.

Oh, yeah, that filly was also born blind, but once she got her suckling reflex, the vision corrected. It's not all that uncommon in horses.

Hi all. just stopping in for a moment or two.
MizT, glad you are feeling a little better. Still keeping Ian in my thoughts.
Heidi, hope you are feeling better soon. I love that I get to learn all kinds of interesting things on this site.
Rolanda, hope your mom and you are doing better.
Julie, weekend nothing. It is spring break and I am off for the next 11 days. I go back on 4-6 and on 4-7 will be on an all day field trip. Makes for a nice short week. When I go back there is only 9 weeks left until summer. Yeah!!!!!!
Don't remember what else I read but will try to stop back later.

Heidi, I am also rooting for Kentucky. My family all picked a team to see who would be the last man (woman) standing. Hubby and Mitchell are already out, Maryland and Syracuse. Dylan took Duke and I took UK as a coworker told me they were favored and in honor of you. I am not a fan of any of the Florida schools.

I lost all interest in basketball once the uniforms changed to thoseflopy skirt like, knee length pants from those split on the side, tight rear caressing shorts. I guess I went to games to watch the backsides and muscular legs of the players hehehe. Naughty Tricia.

Tami... Duke is considered a swear word in Kentucky. They have never been forgiven for beating UK in the Final Four in 1992. It was done at the last second on a Hail Mary, and they gloated. The Kentucky fans have never forgiven. Kentucky has been beaten by other schools, but Duke is the only one that's hated.

Good morning all - just stopping by before I do the dreaded krowesuoh.
Rolanda - healing wishes to your mother. The river foreshore in South Perth - is that near the restaurant where we met Mary and Billy? That was lovely, would be beautiful in good weather - freezing the day we were there.
Hello to Heidi, Broni, MizT, Suzanne, Tami, Gail, Suzy, Judy and anyone else who's around.

Well... This summer will be interesting. We're gonna have a house guest for a month. One of Gil's cousins called and asked if his stepson could spend a month with us on the farm. He's a teenager, I don't remember how old. Gil has met him, I haven't, but as I told him: "There's always room for one more here.". His mother, Lisa, is a real sweetheart, so I know I'll like him.
