MizT, so glad you're recovering from the baseball bat flu! And the injections are helping your hips! Hooray! Wow! You spent 6 hours shopping! Doesn't look like I'll be doing that soon - too concerned about slippery ice and snow and extreme cold. I've become a scaredy-cat about falling.

Speaking of falling, Tami, I hope Bernie is doing well and that they'll see the improvements they are looking for at the new hospital. Don't you just wonder why cords are so long at hospitals? Someone needs to invent roll-up reels for any corded item that could be attached to the bed rails or something.

Heidi, how are you feeling today? Usually you need a day of rest/sleep after your epidural, don't you? Did you ever get to see your dentist? If so, I missed it.

Julie... roll-up reels for cords have been on the market for years. I have a bunch of them.

I suppose I should think about food flinging. After hubby brought me home from physical therapy, he had to leave for an acupuncture appointment. As it started nearly 2 hours ago, I'm thinking I might expect him home in another 30 minutes or so. Hope to pop back in later.

Heidi, I guess someone should introduce them to hospitals - or maybe there are just too many cords for them to worry about.

I never got to the Dentist. Fortunately, the tooth has died so it doesn't hurt any more.

Julie, I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking. With all the positive vibes that hang around on SA, how can a person not get better.
I really want to thank everyone for their positive thoughts. It has been a rough week for me. My dad is not doing well but at his age, 81, even something minor can become serious. I am facing reality that my dad will not be around forever. I am the youngest and have always been his little girl.

Tami, we'll keep those positive thoughts & prayers going your way, to Bobbi and especially to Bernie. I know this is a very difficult time for you! Hang in there, girl! We're here for you!

Now, I really must think about entering the K room, but hope to be back later.

Tami - I am sorry to hear your dad is "under-the-weather." I will keep him in my prayers. Rick and I both enjoyed meeting him and I would not have guessed his age!!!! He seemed much younger!

Hello also to Broni, Gail, Heidi, Suzy, Debbie, Julie and anyone else I missed. Got most of my Christmas shopping for Darrell done, still have a few more things to get. Getting ready to sign off for the night, VERY tired...Mike & my friend Clark came for dinner last night. Clark didn't stay, got in a minor accident on the way home from Idaho (where his current girlfriend's parents live) Enchiladas were good, will post photos as soon as I download them...TTFN everyone!

Just want to fill you all in, had an appointment with the surgeon this arvo, shoot the bit of thyroid I have left is under active, it does explain a heap ie; weight gain, moods, hot flashes increasing again, dopey behaviour, wow is that it.
They dont want to start me on any form of thyroxin, as this will probably mean the thyroid wont kick into action itself, so they want to wait and see, and have told me to be very careful as the weight gain may continue, yikes I feel like a beached whale now.
And its nearly Christmas now, how do you watch your weight when its all about food. HELP ME

Dropping in between bowling (Ally got first in a junior league - yay!) and Pride. I will get to sit there stitching while they rehearse. Hopefully I'll get the blasted costume finished tonight as there is no time left tomorrow...

The SA vibes worked a little for the blonde Pride girl. She's still got a way to go but made a little progress this week. I'm hoping when I see her tonight that she is feeling better again...

Wonderful news Suzy, both about Ally's first (Congrats Ally) and the blonde Pride girl.
Please let her know that a lot of people she knows nothing about are thinking of her and hoping she gets well soon.

I'll tell her Gail. Our Federal Member knows all about her probs so she shouldn't mind some strangers knowing too! That was funny, the Fed Mem was sitting at our dinner table and we had to explain that she could begin eating as blonde girl was not going to get any dinner as she was unwell. Later in the evening I was talking some more with blonde's Mum and ended up having to tell the Fed Mem what was wrong as she was being rudely excluded from the conversation. The next day the blonde said EVEN Jo Blow knows...

I almost forgot.... Lizzy, dear, please be very careful with the food during the Holidays. When my thyroid gave up the ghost, my weight exploded, tho' I ate no more food than before. I was at 140 lbs. I actually gained nearly 100 lbs! And I can't get rid of it. Of course, I made the mistake of quitting smoking then.
