Heidi, this is truly a slow moving system. Now the forecast is our part will not arrive till after daybreak. MUCH better I do not like storms in the night.

Broni, happy to hear you have picked up an additional 2 days work.

CynB, makes me almost tempted to join face book to see just what group you have joined. Almost being key words there.

Suzy, hope the doc can help you. I need to go back and check out your link, but like others, I will do it after I post this message.

Have not heard from the ortho doc's office. I shall call again in the AM. It seems they are hard to reach, the phone rang 20 times and when answered i was put on hold for 10 minuets. Now it seems as if it is hard to get a return call. I am glad I do not have them as my regular doc.

Time for bed here, hugs and later, gators.

I can't believe how slow moving this storm is. The radar shows it well into our county now, but I'm on the far east edge of the county and I can't detect it yet. Except for some sprinkles.

Yes, Robert got all the fence posts set in concrete. We'll have to wait until they set completely, then hang the gate and transfer fence wires. I moved the fence back 10 feet, so we'll have to move other posts as well.

It's raining hard now, and the heavier storm is about 5 miles away.

MizT, I hope you get the call-back in the morning!

Heidi, why did you move the fence back? I'm glad Robert got the holes dug & the poles in concrete before the slow-moving storm. Otherwise, you might have needed to wait days to do the work!

Good Night, All! Sleep well! Heidi, I hope you get a good night's sleep and your back feels better tomorrow!

HI BRONI, here I is~ UP middle of the night, so of course I checked in here. I do have a long list I want done fore the surgery. Tomorrow I want to cook a few extra main dishes for the freezer, it should be cool with the rain.

Julie, I will not wait for a call back tomorrow, I shall be pro active and phone them again, more than once if necessary.

What would you do?? I have a neighbor that drives a company truck home nights. He leaves home at 4 or 4:30 am. When he backs his truck, those OSHA required back up warning beepers go off. BEEP BEEP BEEP, with my bedroom window open for the cool air, it sounds like an alarm clock on my bedside table, and I am jarred into wakefulness. I do not know these neighbors, they are very quite, never outside, no one in neighborhood knows them. I would like to ask him if he could back his truck into position when he comes home, so in the morning he could leave without being in reverse. Is this unreasonable??

OK, I am going to check weather then back to bed for me, it is hours before sunrise, and even longer before hubby will be up and stirring. I will see you later.

Hummm, is that distant thunder I hear?? Highly possible, I checked radar, rain only a couple miles west of us, heavy rain about 10. Luckily, no severe weather warnings posted, so it will just be rain and maybe a bit of thunder, yeah.

Howdy all.
Today, after a bit of an icky errand this morning, D#3 and I spent the afternoon at the hairdressers being primped and preened, then she and I went to the flicks to see Alice in Wonderland 3D. Great movie, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a young kid's movie.

Evening all
Posting without reading tonight. I've been kind of depressed today. My doctors appointment achieved the required goal - a referral to the oral and maxillofacial surgeon, but it was a weird experience. The doctor was dismissive and accusatory. I only saw him because it was another 3 weeks until I could get into my usual doctor and boy do I regret that. It would have been better to wait the extra 3 weeks. Of course I thought of the perfect retorts - after I left the office. Isn't that how it always works? I let it upset me instead of being angry. I should have just been angry. Remember those 'looks' I described the 13 year old as getting? Well I got them today and then some. In 24 years I have asked for help with the pain in my jaw 3 times. The first time I had 3 surgeries. The 2nd I got a splint to sleep in, multiple visits and physiotherapy as my head doesn't move the way it should. This time I got told there was no such thing as muscle relaxants and I should take panadol....

MizT... a very reasonable request, especially if made in person, with maybe a peace offering in hand (food, etc.). You need to meet these neighbors and have a decent relationship with them, even if you're not going to be lifelong friends.

I agree it is a reasonable request MizT.
Things have started to get back to what will be normal from now on.
My youngest daughter's grandfather (no relation to me of my husband, those who know me know I have a complex family)died recently and we have been disrupted at home for a couple of weeks. His funeral was earlier this week so things settling down now.
Richard is now working from home more so I don't get on to the computer as much, got to be seen to be doing some of that rotten swear word around the house.

It's a cool and rainy morning here. Good for grass growth. But too difficult to risk driving across with my 2WD truck to work on that gate. Since it's supposed to rain on and off all day, Robert and I won't work on it until tomorrow. The concrete will be set better then anyway.

Hi Brenda.
I know the feeling. IH works out of the house. Even though I'm in and out constantly, taking my breaks on the pooter, every time he walks in the room I happen to be on here. He thinks I spend every waking minute sitting at the computer desk! He's even said so!

Finch update:
Besides the first nest of 4 baby finches, a second nest is now hatching. Two babies in there so far.
I'm having good success this year because I let the birds chose their own mates. A lot of them were sold to me as mated pairs, so I kept them that way. This year, I put all the birds in together and let them chose their own mates. Wow, was there a LOT of mate swapping! Only 1 pair has stayed together. Their eggs haven't hatched yet.

The qardener has just left so my lawn looks presentable after it's first cut of the year, borders have been tidied up too.
Suzy hope you get some relief from the pain in your jaw, and a little more care from your doctor.
Mizt hope your hand surgery goes ok, just so you can do the things you want to do without pain or strapping.

Greetings friends. Just finished lunch here and thinking of a nap, but first to say hellp to all. I am late getting to the board, after my middle of the night visit, cause we were without power From shortly after my last post. By 9:00 AM I really wanted my coffee, it was more important since I did not get any yesterday. Hubby took pity on me and said yes when I asked if we could go out for coffee. Not only coffee, but a huge breakfast, yummy. It has been ages since we went out to breakfast. A philly cheese steak omlet was a lot better than my usual bowl of oat meal hehehe.

Surgery is scheduled for 2 weeks from today. I was hoping for next week, but this is when they could do it. I will have general anesthesia, and it will be done at the outpatient care center. That gives me more time to get my house in order and food in freezer for more days after surgery, and I should still be out of cast by the first week of June, before the hottest of our summer. .

Hi all - just calling in quickly before Madeline and I go to visit my Mum and deliver her new glasses. Her other ones broke and fortunately we had her last prescription so I ordered new ones. Hope she doesn't lose/break these too quickly! I'm on my own dealing with Mum at the moment, my sister has gone to Europe for 7 weeks and my bro lives 100km away and has the kind of job that has him travelling and long hours - he's 60 in August and in the fortunate position to be able to retire soon after (self-funded of course).
Suzy - that Doctor sounds vile - don't let him upset you especially if he's not your regular one.
MizT - pleased you've got a date for surgery.
Heidi - it's always exciting getting updates on your birds - and exciting that the finches are breeding.
Hi also to Broni, Gail and Julie and anyone else I may have missed. Ciao for now!

I started 15 Marans eggs in the incubator today, as well as 3 pheasant eggs I found in the pen. I will be shocked if the pheasant eggs hatch (young birds, eggs may not be fertile) but I figured... why not try? Guinea eggs and other chicken eggs (White-Faced Black Spanish) will be arriving in the mail tomorrow and will get added. The Marans lay deep brown eggs, almost chocolate color, and the Spanish lay white eggs. I need to find a picture of the Spanish, because they're unusual looking birds.

Good Morning my friends.
Had to go to our other store this morning to help D balance the books, only took me two hours to sort out 4 days trading, they have no idea!
Not an unreasonable request at all MizT.
Zusy, did you get anything for you flu while you were seeing that idiot doctor?
Brenda, glad things are getting back to normal, how unreasonable of Richard to interfer with your computer time hehe!
Cyn, hope you have a good visit with your Mum.
Tami, sleep well and hope the tooth fairy does not sleep in.

Heidi, how FORMAL those white faced chickens look, I like them. Good luck on incubating the eggs. Will you be selling that kind of chicken? Eating their eggs? Or putting them in the freezer?

Brenda, I do hope you can find some time to get online with us, now that hubby will be home more. Mine has learned that I get on the puter at my rest breaks, he does not say anything any more. Well, he really could not say a lot, he is on his puter most of the day and not all of it is work hehehe.

Ahhhh, loosing a baby tooth, means Dylan is growing up. What is the going rate for a baby tooth?

I got a couple meals to go into freezer, meatloaf and vegetable beef soup. Plus made hubby very happy, he had desert tonight, pum0pkin pie!

Time for bedtime snack and then off to bed. It will be very cool here tonight, gee, winter again. I must set heat so it can come on later tonight.

Good Evening, Ladies (and Gentleman, in case vdV should fly by)!

Hi, Broni, MizTricia, Gail, Suzy, Heidi, Brenda, CynB, Tami the T, and anyone else in the neighborhood!

Sorry to hear you had slow internet connection at work, Broni! I hope it was better at home!

MizT, I think it would be perfectly reasonable/acceptable to kindly request that the neighbor back into position when he arrives home in the evening so that he can pull forward when he leaves in the early morning! Heidi's idea of a peace offering/food might possibly help. Are you thinking it would be more appropriate to make contact and become acquaintances before you make the request? Good luck!

Gail, I hope the icky errand went well. I'm glad it was followed by enjoyable activities, like a visit to the hairdresser and then a movie! BTW, how are things going with your hail-damaged car? We had a hail storm in our area Monday evening/night. A car dealership in the area had several hundred cars on his lot, all of which received damage. He is giving discounts, according to a news report, to sell them "as-is." (The storm here didn't have hail as large as you had, nor last as long.)

Suzy, I am so sorry you were treated so poorly by the doctor today, and I am SO glad it wasn't "your" doctor. What a rude, condescending jerk to treat you that way. We can only hope he was having a bad day and would ordinarily not treat a patient that way. I would think it would be appropriate to let your regular doctor know how you were treated. I hope your cold (and Ebob's) is/are better! Also hoping the pain from the long-ago accident subsides a bit as you wait for the specialist appointment!

Brenda, I am so sorry to hear about the death of your youngest daughter's grandfather. Of course, it affected your schedule! We're just glad to see you here and posting again! Remember, there is always ffuts to do around the house, but it doesn't need to be done every waking moment. As MizT mentioned, there's no harm in sitting at the computer during a break. It's not our fault if spouses just happen to always walk by during that break. (I think I mentioned a few days ago that hubby commented that he thinks I am addicted to the internet.)

Heidi, I hope the work on the gates can proceed tomorrow, which, of course, means better weather! I enjoyed your story of the finches and their mate swapping. Of course, they know better than humans which bird will make a better mate. It certainly seems to be working! Continued success with them and with the eggs in the incubator! BTW, the white-faced Spanish chicken are quite regal looking! I hope they do well for you! Will you sell their eggs or keep them for personal use? I also like the YouTube!

MizT, I'm glad you have your surgery date and some time to prepare meals for your recovery period! I hope your hand will not bother you too much in the interim!

Tami, sleep well! But not too well, as you might want to be around when the tooth fairy
