Tami, the only place dollar coins were available where I lived in CA was at the post office. The tooth fairy never did bother with that and just gave a quarter. Inflation is even hitting teeth!
Shoot, now I can't remember what was on the last page... And yes, I did think shoot. Weird. Ally has now started teaching herself guitar. Hmmm.

Morning all. I'm hoping for better weather today so I can maybe start work on cleaning out the flower beds. Yesterday it was only a high of 5 degrees C, with a cold wind and rain. Brrr. Also have a case that I hope to finish for Monday, so it's going to be a busy weekend. Of course a lot of ffuts has to be done as well. Time for COFFEE ... yeah.

Start back home tomorrow. We have had a great time. A bit of rain today but did not really spoil things.
Catch up when we get home.

Loverly Saturday morning here, sunny, cool, breezy, lets order up about 60 days of this. Hubby has a nice dry weekend for putting up a dome, lots better than last. So it is quite here today.
I found the perfect shirt for a pair of yellow pants I bought. Found them on a great sale, but then thought I would have to pay a premium for a shirt to go with. NOPE, reasonably priced, pink and yellow painted on design on a white T, just what i wanted. Now to find one to go with the pink pants. NOPE this pink is all wrong, but I figured that before buying it, one is a bluish pink, the other has undertones of peach, so not a match at all.

Heidi, I hope you had a good night's sleep.
MizT, glad you found a reasonably priced shirt in exactly the colour you were looking for. That doesn't happen too often.
I am making peanut butter cookies for hubby to bring to his parents' tomorrow. He goes almost every Sunday to help them out. He sampled a few and then a few more, so I guess they taste OK.
Beautiful cool day here too. Tomorrow is supposed to be the same, so I hope to get some outside stuff done.

Quiet night last night.
MizT, your new shirt sounds lovely. I blush a little when I read your posts about matching shirts and pants. With me it's usually a case of what I touch first!
Theresa, a high of 5C sounds very very cold to me too, I would have left the garden beds alone just like you. I haven't made peanut butter cookies since the kids were small. I wonder if I can find my recipe?

It's way too early to be out of bed on a Sunday morning. I might head back there soon. The sky is looking overcast and grim here, so much for the sunny day forecast.

Just got the lawn mowed.
Boy, does it look better.
I now have a leg of lamb cooking in the oven. It's the dish I'm taking to IH's cousin's Pot Luck tonight. Everyone knows that I'm bringing the meat.

Now that your lawn is mowed, want to drive that mower on down here and do mine?
HEY, if I enjoyed wearing jeans, I would not have to worry about what shirt goes with what pants. Everything goes with denim, but alas, I find denim to cold for winter and to hot for summer. there are a few days spring and fall when it is just right.

Everyone!
Hi, Suzy, Theresa, June, MizTricia, Heidi, Gail, and anyone I may have missed!
Hmm, Suzy, she writes songs, learning to play the guitar . . . has she found her niche? I haven't read anything yet about the air disaster affecting Poland - only a quick mention on the new. I will need to investigate.
Theresa, I hope the weather is warmer today! Will you have time to work on the case AND work outside if the weather cooperates? Plus, home-made peanut butter cookies for your in-laws! I hope they appreciate the effort!
June, seems like a great week! Safe travels back home!
MizT, you are quite the shopper to find exactly what you want! Good luck finding the pink with blue undertones!
Heidi, I'm glad you were able to sleep in. Needs to be done on a somewhat regular basis!
Heidi, I hope you had fun at the potluck tonight! Did your grass really need to be cut - or just a trim to make it look neater? Ours is still growing slowly - maybe by next week it will need a trim.
MizT, I agree about denim - have just one pair.
Gail, hope you and Amelia have a wongerful time!

Yes, Julie, it needed to be cut. It's growing so fast and thick that I'm already on a once a week schedule.
My tummy is full. Very full. And we had a great time. One of the people there was a visitor from Azerbaijan. She was fascinating to talk to.

I pretty much live in denim. Love the stuff. My idea of dressing up, most of the time, is clean jeans.

Evening all.
Gail, I hope you enjoy your coffee meeting. It's always nice to meet up with friends and gab the time away.
Our grass is turning a nice green after all the rain in the last few days, but it will still be a few weeks before it needs cutting. It's raining lightly again now.
Having been a "flower child" I love jeans. Right now I don't even own a pair, but I virtually lived in them before. Must get a new pair.
Julie, the outside work didn't get done today, maybe tomorrow. Tomorrow it is supposed to be a bit warmer (12C), so hopefully I can get out there. I did try today, but I was just too cold to enjoy myself. The cookies are done ... better come and get some before hubby brings some to his parents tomorrow.
Heidi, glad you enjoyed your potluck. How many people were there?
My thoughts are with the people of Poland.
It's almost 11:30 PM and I think I might try and sleep. I've had a niggling headache most of the day that just refuses to go away. It's not a bad one, it's just there. So TTFN ... if I can't sleep I just might be back sooner rather than later.

Heidi, sounds like the potluck was a success! Wow, even drew a guest from Azerbaijan. I guess she heard you were bringing the meat!
Theresa, I'm hoping for a warmer day for you tomorrow!

Afternoon all!
If my jeans are clean, I'm wearing them. Unless I'm wearing my tracky dacks. I get around the matching colours thing by buying boring coloured pants like black, brown and grey. I can then wear almost any top with them. Those pants only get worn if I'm working or on my rare nights out. Though sometimes I wear jeans then too. I own about 5 pairs of shoes - joggers, sandles, black dress, brown dress and slippers. I also tend to wear my clothes until they are falling apart. I get my favourites!

Theresa, I think I've said this about a zillion times before - I don't think I could live anywhere that got that cold! We get a few cold days in winter, but that would be around your warmer 12C. I hope you are able to sleep.
Julie, I love your posts but am always left wanting more - like what you are up to!! Even if it's physio etc.

Of course I knew it would be so, but Amelia is a lovely person...aren't all Sudokuists?
We met up at a coffee lounge in Pakenham, Amelia, her hubby Bill and their friend Maureen, my daughter Hannah and I. We sat down together for about an hour, and the conversation never stopped!
Amelia and her hubby are off to Tassie for a month, caravaning around the state. I hope they have a great time.

Hi everyone! I haven't commented here for quite a while, but I do try to keep up with the reading ... Gail, glad you had a lovely meeting, but sorry things have been rough for you lately ... sending hugs..
Terrible news about the plane crash in Russia - and hope it doesn't upset Poland's stability ...
Abusy weekend here: Tried to dig up some tree roots, but they were too much for me - Rob finally took an axe to them! Working in the garden, spreading compost, off to the Farmer's Market (bought lots of plants - hope I manage to plant them all), and it was a chilly day, a real winter feel in the air. Then to the gym - really didn't feel like it today, but I guess it did some good ...? Rob is making dinner - he seems to enjoy it, so let him go for it! :)
Went to Adam's latest performance - he had disappointing audiences for the first week, but the second was better, and quite a crowd of Rob's work friends decided to come along, which was great. A good performance - quite a few sketches we'd seen before, but it's intersting to see how they evolve. Some were rather rude ... young people, tsk, tsk! And one was about a farmer, in overalls and a checked shirt, retired from his city job and looking for a quiet country life - he's joined by some of his friends, nice at first, but they become more and more demanding ... there was a ripple of amusement as some members of the audience twigged what it was about ... (Yep, Farmville!) And he was a VERY grumpy old farmer! Hope it wasn't modelled on anyone I know! ;)
Well, that's all the excitement for us - hope you are all happy and healthy. :)

I've been grocery shopping. A meagre shop as we went a bit nuts in Canberra last weekend. Well I had to have the souvenir book!
Gail, your afternoon tea sounds lovely, and so does the planned trip.
Judy, I read your first work as abuse-y and was waiting to hear who got told off - duh! I'm not sloooow...... I would have loved to have seen the Farmville skit! I resembled that demanding person this week trying to finish my french home with a deadline.... (blush).

Julie, I am glad someone besides me thinks denim is not the most comfy fabric. Most everyone here lives in jeans. Hubby has about 7 pair. I happen to have 2 pair, one stretch jeans I have shrunk back into and one pair of capris (how do you spell that? Spell check will not accept anything)
Heidi, my grass is growing fast also, needs cutting in the back. Front lawn just now greening, that is zoyzia and later to green up in spring. I need BOY to come cut for the first time, pick up anything that winter has left in the yard, hopefully one day next week. You sound like folks here, dress up is the newest pair of jeans and the good boots.
I agree with Suzy and she put it very nicely, JULIE, we enjoy your posts a LOT, but would love at least one sentence about you! Is it cold? Does your grass need cutting? Do you cut it or hubby? What's for dinner tonight?
Gail, I am having the " anything that will fit" problem here also, but cause I have shrunk! I have removed 4 bags of clothes that are too big for me. Taken up a lot more for every day wear this last of winter, I did not want to buy smaller size for just a few weeks since I hope to continue loosing weight.
Judy, sounds as if all had a great time at Adam's performance. I am glad you and friends got to see it. I read the abusy wrong also, did a double take and read again. We all make typos, as evidenced by Suzy's WORK instead of word hehehe. I thought that most funny, commenting on a typo and making one herself (and Tricia is double checking her spell check to make sure that she has not left a typo here)
JUNE, glad you are home, hope you recover from trip soonest. Always lots to do on returning home, isn't there??
Another touch of winter over night, but a nice warm spring day forecast again. No rain in sight, I must remember to water the few containers I have planted. I did one more yesterday. this is one that has Asiatic lilies that return every year, but room around edges for something, so I have planted purple trailing verbena this year. I have 4 pots that go on short legged benches beside my front stairs. The wooden benches are to keep the weed eater from destroying my pots, as would happen in the past when hubby or BOY trimmed the grass. Large containers cost too much to have them destroyed by careless grass cutters, so I asked hubby to make these benches to elevate them. It has worked well. This year I will have white periwinkle in one pot, and red salvia in another and purple petunias in the 4th. The Asiatic lilies are pink, so that should be a nice blend.
I am off to get something done this morning. Yesterday was a big achie day, hope today is better, I have things to do. I want to get smaller pots that go on my bakers rack on back porch planted today and move out dome of the house plants.

I was outside catching a stubborn pony. She didn't want to be taken away from her buddies. She's now in a stall throwing a tantrum. Which is hard for her to do because of the temptations. I put some sweet feed in the feeder in the stall. She walks up to the feeder, takes a mouthful, eats, then walks to the stall door and squeals while pawing frantically. Then she goes back to the feeder for another mouthful and repeats the process. Her new owners won't be here for another hour and a half, so it'll give her time to accept her fate.

MizT, your garden sounds like it will be lovely. I too have lost plants over the years when hubby was cutting the grass, especially in the later spring. Planting for us doesn't happen until our Victoria Day weekend in May ... by then the frost will be entirely out of the ground.
Good luck with the pony, Heidi.
Off to do some yucky swear word stuff. I hope to pop in from time to time.
