Heidi, it does sound like something is going on with you dear, needing that much sleep. I hope you are much better tomorrow.

I had a sleepless night last night, not sure why, those just happen occasionally. I did sleep from 3 till 8:30, and feel a nap coming on.

It is cooler today, hope it stays that way today.

WARNING: ADULT LANGUAGE

Had to repair my vacuum cleaner this morning. this thing has a sharper than 90* turn right out of the floor tool, and the least bit of paper or today, dead leaves from a plant, will stop it up. I did not have to take it ALL apart, just removed one screw that let me straighten that bend in the flexible hose, and made myself a tool from flexible wire, put a hook on the end, and fished out the clog. then I cleaned all the filters, and my vacuum is gninaelc as it should once again. ALMOST finished with the bedroom today, I will wait till Wednesday to change my bed. I should be putting my pillows out in the sun daily though, one of the worlds nice pleasures, sun drenched feather pillows.

I've never done that, MizT. I'll have to find a place to put my feather pillows outside where the dogs can't reach them. Years ago, one shredded a feather pillow outside. The mess was unspeakable. With the farm tour coming up in 3 days, I don't want to deal with that.

The place is looking better already. We've been putting stuff away outside and cleaning things up.

I broke the news about the sunroom to IH a little while ago. He was NOT happy. He felt that I should be spending MY money on a new hay barn instead. I told him that both will be done. He still wasn't happy, so I told him that either I added a sun room or I bulldozed the house. I needed a big, bright room for my sanity. This house is comprised with tiny, dark rooms. Granted, I don't spend that much time inside, but I get depressed in this dark little house.

Sweet dreams of a sun room, Heidi.

MizT, my mom used to put all her whites out on the lawn to let the sun bleach them. On wash day it was not unusual to see the back yard covered with sheets and pillows and other linens. I had forgotten about that until you mentioned the feather pillows.

Okay, I think I am slowly going crazy, 1 2 3 4 5 6 switch (as the ditty goes) ... I have been humming Silver Bells to myself all afternoon. Don't you hate it when you get a song in your head and can't get it out ... a Christmas song especially!!!!

I've found that the only way to get it evicted is to listen to that song over and over until you tire of it, then listen to one of your favorites.

Morning all!
I keep forgetting that folk who live in places where it is COLD in winter don't tend to have clothes lines. Unless it rains for days on end all of my clothes are sun drenched.

Heidi, Gil must be stressing because he is already planning on spending money on the apartment. You have said he doesn't like to spend money....

MizT, that is very 'handywoman' of you!

Theresa, it could be worse, it could be 'It's a Small World'... that one sticks for days!!

But it's not HIS money that I'll be spending, Suzy. He has now put down a deposit on the apartment. So my life should be a little less stressful soon.
IH just left for the plant. He won't be back 'til tomorrow night. Meanwhile, I have to get ready for the Tour. At least Robert will help.

SUZY..... DON'T mention that song!!! I don't want it running through my head! I now have to listen to something good and catchy, like Johnny Mercer singing Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive (The new YouTube on my page).

I am home alone today, so I turned up the radio loud and managed to get the offending song out of my head.

Just a small story from many years ago. We lived in a townhouse and the neighbours attached to one side of us liked noisy parties until the wee hours of the morning. One morning I got so fed up with lack of sleep, I turned the speakers facing their wall at 6:00 AM, turned up Big Bird Sings the Alphabet at full blast. The neighbours around us were warned ahead of time and didn't mind. They too were tired of the noisy neighbours.

Suzy, my clothes and linens hang outside to dry, but I have to remember to take my pillows out for a sunning. Heidi, I pin my pillows to the clothes line, but a collie could jump and pull them down I think. Feathers spilled, outside or inside, or in the washing machine, is a big mess. I do occasionally wash my feather pillows, and once, the ticking tore in the washer and I had to fish out floating feathers, YUCK.

Well, I am off to feed the dishwasher. There is a member of my family who does not know how to put a dirty dish into it, manages to put them on the counter or in the sink. Must get the K room clean so I can fling food. Bedroom is finished, now to start the K.

Morning all. Partial repost from easy...
I am not here...I never sneak a look in the morning before school drop-off...
I do have to get my skates on though. Hubby has already left to take his car down to the body shop, it is finally getting everything fixed from the hail damage it received when we had that almighty hail storm, oh so long ago. The shop he has to take it to is in the city, about an hour away, so I am heading straight down there to pick him up after dropping my daughter off.
Back later to do the puzzle.
Be good!

Good morning lovely SA people.
Quiet day everywhere - if anyone has time, go across to Easy page - it's still on page 1. Everybody must have a life but me. I have a sick Emily here for the day. She's sniffly and miserable and Andrew can't afford to take too many days off - her Mum wouldn't take her - she had plans for the day! Can you believe it?

Good Morning all! Hello to everyone.

Cyn, I'd believe anything you told us about your DIL - she's a witch!

I'm waiting to take my car down the road to get a tyre fixed. It's got a slow leak and needs repairs.

My dishwasher is getting a real workout at the moment. With 5 extra people in the house, I'm forever loading or unloading the thing. Then it's a case of think what we are going to have for the next meal. Yesterday's dinner was easily solved. I had been grocery shopping and when I went to put everything away, I couldn't fit the leg of lamb in the freezer. I put it in the slow cooker and dinner was organised.

I spent Saturday taking my mother shopping. I left home just before 10 and got home again at 5pm. It's a long time away from home just to spend $70 on groceries. I don't think Mum realises that the next time I would be going to see her is the weekend that Kevin and I are going to the coast for a week. I'd better let her know before then otherwise I will be in the bad books!

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Kevin will be having 4 days off - Friday to Monday - and I will be having them off as well. Saturday is our 27th anniversary so the day has been put aside just for us. I have no plans at all for the weekend and I'm looking forward to a quiet time.

Hi all.
Cyn It is a good thing Emily has you in her life. I do hope things get better for her.
Heidi, take care of yourself. The last thing you need is another case of mono. Hopefully a quiet house will help.

Today we made homemade hummus, which is a dip made from chick peas (garbanzo beans) and bourekas, which is a pastry of phyllo dough stuffed with cheese. We also had pita bread and a chocolate/hazelnut spread similar to nutella. Israeli food is a mix of Meditteranean and European food as that is where most of the immigrants came from.

Phew! Lucky I copied this post! No way could I have remembered what I said...

Afternoon all!
Theresa, I love the 6am song thing. I would love to know if it worked? That would be something you might have to repeat after a few loud parties... unless they were really bright and got the hint quickly.

Gail, glad the car is finally getting fixed. It has been a long process!

Cyn, what Vicki said! I'd believe anything.

Happy Anniversary Vicki and Kevin! Have a great one!

Suzy, well done to the Pride girl and good on you for putting in a good word for her. I hope she enjoys Maccas.
I know I'm glad I don't have to deal with the stinky oil smelling uniforms any more. The first time I picked up one of the boys from work I thought I was going to vomit in my lap. The smell of the oil was so thick I could almost taste it. Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!

Gail, what did you spend your birthday money on? Or is that personal?

I wanted a pair of brown ankle boots and had to order them. When they arrived the store was having a 30% off sale. Even Kevin was pleased! He thinks I'm a bit like Imelda Marcos (sp?). I love shoes.

Suzy, my mom never had a clothes dryer and hung her laundry out in the winter. I can remember the laundry coming in the house after and being frozen stiff. Us kids (great grammar Theresa) would giggle at seeing our clothes standing up by themselves. This site sure brings back memories.

CynB, we need a license to drive a car but not to bring kids into the world. I can't understand a mother who doesn't absolutely adore her kids and who wouldn't do anything for them.

Victoria, have fun on your four day weekend! Happy Anniversary on Saturday.

Suzy, the Big Bird Sings the Alphabet did help. I think the people next door took the hint and moved out not long after. I heard them talking the next day, whining and complaining about not being able to sleep in on the weekend. Awwwww.

I guess you can tell I'm having a bout of insomnia; it's just after 2:00 AM here. Oh well, I can catch a nap in the morning.

I had one of those nights last night. Went to bed early because I had been carrying around a niggling headache all day, so was in bed about 9ish. Woke up fully at some stage hoping it was nearly morning and saw on the alarm clock that it was 1.55...so disappointed! I contemplated getting up but laziness got the better of me. Luckily I drifted back off to sleep, though it never really felt deep again for the rest of the night. Hubby woke up about 4 feeling the same way, and we spoke a few words but drifted off again. Sometimes the sweetest sound is that bloomin alarm clock!

Must have been a bad night for a lot of us - both Hubby and I didn't sleep properly last night for some unknown reason. Then we were awoken by the phone call from my son to say Em was sick at 6am - and had to get up before they arrived at 6.30. I had a nanny nap this afternoon.
It won't surprise any of you that Em's mother, although told early this morning that Em wasn't well, still hasn't checked on how she's feeling.

Good evening. Well i went back to bed and back to sleep.
Hopefully you can get through to Em how special she is having her Dad all to herself. I have a cousin who married a man whose first wife walked out and left him with three boys, the youngest under 12 months. Moved interstae and wanted nothing to do with them. Some mothers you just cannot understand.
Suzy, sounds like Ebob had a great time and I'm glad the girl got the job.

Morning all. I had a nap from about 5:30 AM until 8:30, so I feel a bit more human. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day here, finally no rain, so I can take coffee breaks outside. Speaking of which, that's what I'm going to do now ... see you all later.
