Yes, it will be sometime yet before we hear from Boy. The Winner will be announced at Dinner. Adelaide is 1/2 hour behind Sudoku Time.

Went over the page while I was dithering! Wonder what I missed?
Rolanda, win or lose he has already achieved at an amazing level. Although I would like to know the results, I am impressed enough already!
June, hubby complains about that all the time. He loves to cook, hates deciding what to cook, so he likes it when I ask for a particular dish for dinner.

I am recovering from a near heart attack. Someone who was on the same Outward Bound course as Ebob posted on facebook!! OMG I thought - have I got the wrong day? Was I supposed to pick her up today??? A quick journey through the phone book and a phone call established that he had come home early due to an injury. Phew! It was a minor injury, I'm allowed to be relieved!

Hi everyone.
What a crappy lot of Avon orders I logged in on Wednesday night. Only sold $557 worth.
NOT HAPPY JAN !!!
I will be glad when hubby returns to work and son to school.
FIL back in hospital today.
He was having trouble breathing last night and he has pneumonia.
The doctor seems to think they can manage it and he is on oxygen.
He can only just take one day a time really, no way of knowing when this cancer will finally take him.
I went to visit this arvo for an hour and a half with him.
Son home from fish and chip shop so better start this second load of gnihsaw.
Fingers crossed for Rolanda's son.

Hey! I've just realised the dinner is on Adelaide time not Perth time! They are really dragging it out!!!
I think I got a young friend a job! She desperately wants and needs it. Her family is not well off and she wants to go on a school excursion to Egypt next year and has to save the money for it. She has applied everywhere but I think I got her a job at McDonalds! I told the manager/owner how she had performed for Pride even when she was so sick she couldn't eat.

It is almost 10.30pm in Adelaide. Maybe he is too busy receiving congratulations to text his mother and then Rolanda has lots of people to contact before she can get to us.
Hope the girl gets the job, Suzy. It will be nice to have Ebob back home.
We had a pasta dish with chicken, mushrooms, green peppercorn and seeded mustard. Fairly easy and quite tasty.

Off to the garden center to buy flowers for various planters. Only 5 days to go until the tour. Of course, not only is my tractor in the shop still
, but my lawn mower has also broken. We're waiting for a part to come in. Meanwhile, the lawn is starting to look like a hay field.

As usual, I have read and I have forgotten. Cool and rainy day here, right now it's 9C ... rain tomorrow, rain Sunday. I need to run out to the store and I'm just waiting for the rain to let up a little bit. There's nothing in the house for my lunch (or at least nothing that appeals to me). TTFN

I am a bit tired. My next door neighbor's 2 holstein calves went through the fence into my horse pasture this morning. The horses trotted up to them to investigate, the calves panicked (he got them 2 days ago, and they'd never seen horses) and ran, and the horses chased them. One went through another fence into an empty field, and the other joined up with my bulls for protection. ... To make a long story short, the Holsteins are back where they belong now.

Heidi, life is always interesting at your farm! Hope you did not have to chase the calves, but let their owners have that pleasure.
I will have a new neighbor soon. The lot (block?) Next door has been empty for about 3 years. Once the Mobile home ( transportable?) tht was there was moved, another could not be put in, cause law was changed about how high a mobile could be from the ground. In other words, this lot sloped too much. A few weeks ago, owner of the land came in and started moving earth, cutting down the high end, filling the low. Yesterday the new home arrived. The owners are a young couple we know, the daughter of neighbors of ours. They have a 2 year old, well almost, who can spot me across Wal Mart and start saying HI, and Mom or grandma has to come chase me down for her hehehe. It will be strang having someone living there now, the land having been empty for so long. Wonder if Isabella will have to come visit when she seems me outside??
STILL waiting for caulk to dry, only have that one container to plant, but I have tomatoes yet. I coulted containers, and I shall have 28. there are 12 smaller ones that fit the bakers rack on the back porch, and 14 larger pots, 4 beside the front stairs, 4 on the back porch, and 8 on the front porch. I have coleus, portulaca, perriwinkles, wave petunias, salvia, sweet potato vine, zinnias, impatiens, and will have my spider plants, my Christmas cactus, outside for the summer. I have rosemary and mint. Usually I have more variety, but this year there was not a lot of selection. I will probably plant some seeds later, after I recover from surgery, especially if hubby enlarges front porch as he is thinking of. I want it covered, a simple job, he has to get grandiose about it. I have seed somewhere from a mounding zinnia I hope will sprout and I have seed from the cleome I had last year and loved so much.

Rolanda, please congratulate Robert for me! He did an amazing thing! Also hope he has a wonderful holiday.
MizT, so much for not putting up many pots this year because of your surgery - lol. You will have to drink lots of soda to have bottles to automatically water them with...
Heidi, did that shortened long story include fence repairs? Sigh.

MizT... that's quite a potting project you have there. Mine is a lot smaller. I've been putting out Wave Petunias in various planters around the back and side of the house. I also planted a couple of ruby red Butterfly Bushes in the pheasant and quail yard for cover. There's no reason why I can't make it look pretty in there, as well as functional.

Heidi, don't you love WAVE petunias? They just get bigger and bigger and bloom and bloom and never mind if you dead head them or not. One plant will fill a 24 inch pot in a couple weeks or so, they can spread to 36 inches! I bought some reg petunias fore I found the wave this year, so will have a good comparison.
YEO, I did a lot of flowers, but I decided I really love my flowers and Hubby would just have to water them for me that first week or so after surgery. I was not going to miss a whole summer of flowers cause of this surgery.
Before I had a lot more containers but they were smaller, so probably about the same number plants total. Smaller containers dry faster, need watering more often and actually need soaking occasionally to keep them looking their best. The ones on the bakers rack are easy to water, being all at one place and the hose is right there and they have saucers, so they get ' soaked" when they get watered.
There is no problem about having enough soda bottles, hubby drinks one 2 liter diet soda a day, Next I shop I will just buy him a few 3 liters for the larger bottles. That would be enough for the tomatoes.

Yes, I love Wave Petunias. I got purples, hot pinks (more magenta) and white. Those go well with the various flowering plants in my pond (Pickerel weed, Louisiana Iris and Water Lilies). Behind the pond are Common Lilacs and a Purple Smoke tree.

Morning all.
We have been up since 6 this morning. Hubby needs to get up that early to get a decent park where he needs to go, and Hannah is off to a Comic Convention (!) and needed to be ready and down at the Main Street bus stop at 7.30! Needless to say when I got home I got straight onto the puter!
I really need to attack the k-room, it looks like a bomb site as I have not properly ventured into it for two days. Beth surprised me on Thursday by deciding to make a cake, but I had already arranged for Chloe to get a cake to bring to our dinner out on Thursday night. We got home, absolutely bursting at the seams, but what could we do...we had to try Beth's cake! It was a dark chocolate mousse cake, and it was delish, but I could only handle a wafer thin sliver...but it was fabulous for breakfast the next morning!

Rolanda - hope Robert and his girl enjoy their holiday and I hope he's not disappointed - it's still a wonderful achievement. That boy will go far.
Oh dear - mind blank - I'll be back later. Son is due here to borrow our BBQ for his big housewarming bash tonight. Guess who has to bring his girls home for the night (again)!

Suzy, I would have panicked also thinking I was supposed to pick up my kid.
Heidi and Tricia, both of you can come and plant in my garden anytime you want. I do not have a green thumb.
Had a good day at school. Dylan has a baseball game in the morning and my parents are supposed to come watch. My dad is finally getting his strength back.

Hello all.
MizT, your pots sound like they will be beautiful once they are blooming. I hope you get to post some pictures.
I have been a bit under the weather and feeling kind of blah. I've had this niggling headache for a few days now. It wakes me up in the early hours of the morning with its severity and then calms down during the day.
I hope to get some kind of flowering plants for trellis thingies my husband made. We had a few dying trees removed last year and the house, which is almost right on the sidewalk, looks very stark and bare. Hubby hung the trellis for me, so in the May long weekend we will head off to the nursery. It's just a touch too cold yet; some mornings there is a touch of frost on the ground still.

It looks like I'll be getting the Blackleg vaccine and antibiotics tomorrow morning. We probably won't be able to sort out the remaining heifers until Monday, but we'll try over the weekend. Blackleg kills animals between 6 months old and 2 years old, so we only need to treat those. In case, we're going to treat Yahtzee as well, even though he had his booster 2 months ago. He just turned 1 year old.
