Good afternoon all.
Glad to see Heidi has heard from MizT and, yes, typical of a man (Al). But if a man has pain - different story. Hugs to Tricia if she stops by.
Have had a busy morning with a meeting and then a vist to Mum for their Anzac Service and BBQ lunch. Mum was completely uninterested. Until this happened, she always went to the dawn service and then the march.
Thanks for you lovely comments about my MIL - she may be physically weak, but has that admirable inner strength. I admire her so much and we are very close.
Vicki - My hubby will do washing - if I ask, but would never think to put a load on even if it was staring him in the face. He's still a keeper.
Gail - Have left a message for (huahin)Ian on Easy.
Hi also to Suzy, Mamacita (nice to see you here), Theresa, Tami, June, Nola, Brenda etc.
It's just one of those days!

I tell you what, I am loving MizT's medicated posts!!! To paraphrase the song, 'Tricia, don't be a hero'! Take those meds preemptively.
Thank you friends for your loving words and wishes for Ian. I posted on easy and am just off to his page now.

BTW We didn't burn off today. I got home from my walk and had a quick looksee on the puter, then hubby said he had a few errands to run...did I want to go out to lunch! DID I?!!! Ok, so it mind defeat the walking, but I'll just walk a bit more next week!
I threw myself into the shower and we were outta here! One of the jobs was to buy some sh*t, sorry, manure for the vegie garden so we'll get into that on the weekend. Time for the bean, onion and brassica crops.

BTW As you know, I don't often share private health related stuff with you, but while the love and prayers are going around, could you please direct some to one of my sisters who is currently going through some major women's business. She is living a long way from the rest of us and is feeling very alone and isolated at the mo, but has made the decision that if it is a worst case scenario, she will move back to Melbourne so she can have a strong support network.
Love you Megan ♥

Lovely to see MizT posting. Even though she should have been resting, getting in touch with her sudoku friends was probably good therapy.
And I had a lovely day out. The sunshine on the blue water of the Harbour made everthing sparkle and look magical.

It may take a few days for the post surgical pain to subside. I know that this is the stage where I seriously regret having had surgery, because the pain is worse than it was before the operation. Just don't do what I did the day after getting out of the hospital (after leg surgery) ..... I fell and broke my tailbone. I actually forgot about the pain in the leg.

Morning all!
MizT, I really hope the pain is better today. I am sending SA vibes out to you!
Gail, sending more vibes your sister's way. I am hoping that she doesn't need as many as is feared right now. My screen saver is from an email I received a while ago about a polar bear attack. 'I hope your problems are smaller than you imagine'...my new motto.
Nola, I hope you had a nice relaxing day yesterday - you earned it!

My excitement for this morning - discovering that Ally had accidentally put Ebob's clothes away in her room, including Ebob's baseball uniform which was needed this morning. Ally will be getting a lesson on putting her clothes away properly today....

Hi all, I liked being here so much that I came back to enjoy that warm, cosy feeling one gets when in the company of really good people...and I most certanly am with good folk!
Gail, Sorry to learn that your sister is going through this hard stuff and is not close enough for you guys to physically hold her close, but know that she's being held tightly in our thoughts and prayers. We have a pretty good track record with sending positive vibes to friends and family, and you know its hard to beat a bunch of determined ladies to make good stuff happen from bad. Prayers, hugs, and sweet thoughts for Ian and his wife, Megan and the entire family, and of course to Miz T for a ease of pain and discomfort and those scary, mind-numbing thoughts of the unknown. May peace walk with you as God holds you in his arms while you make your way to full recovery.

Ah Mama, your words always soothe, bless you.
Thank you to you all, I certainly know I feel better.
Suzy, that's a great new motto. It's exactly as I told Megan when she started talking about the possibility of it being the worst. I said 'Don't let negative thoughts take up valuable space in your heart and mind. You need all the positive you can right now.'

Some things never change. I got a nasty phone call from the power company this afternoon. IH hadn't paid the bill.... again... and they threatened to cut off the electricity if it wasn't paid in 3 hours. He then got a nasty call from me and immediately paid it.

Good morning lovely people.
Hehehe Heidi - some thing indeed never change - glad he got it done eventually.
MizT, Gail's Megan, Ian and his wife - all still in my thoughts.
Mama - what Gail said! You always have the right words for the right time.
June - Sydney harbour sounds like it was the place to be yesterday. Nothing soothes me more than the sun glistening on the water. Often when I have finished visiting my Mum and feel a bit low, as I'm driving home, I come to a large intersection from which there is a glorious view over Moreton Bay and the islands and their huge sand dunes - it's always the tonic I need.

Anzac Day tomorrow 25 April. Lest We Forget
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Mamacita, glad to see you posting here again. Any plans to visit Florida???
Read, but don't remember. Have a very busy day. One of Mitchell's friends is having his Bar Mitzvah in the morning. The celebration is at night and Dylan has a baseball game in the afternoon. Sunday is my OLDER brother's birthday and we are all going out for dinner to celebrate. Did I mention that he is OLDER?? My mom might get mad but he is turning 50. I have to be the good little sister and make sure that he knows how old he is. My mom was a child bride and had him when she was 12. (that is my story and I am sticking with it)

Cyn, I will be going to the local dawn service as I try to do every year. This year, I am going to be joined by my daughter Beth, and her friend, Becki.
I was talking to my son yesterday about it, and to my surprise he said if he was staying in town on Saturday night he would go to the service at the Shrine of Remembrance in the city.
My heart bursteth with pride ♥

Hi folks.
Sitting here wondering when it was that I dropped by to remind you all that I am not a 'has bean' yet... almost but not quite... I didn't get back to catch up on reading and I daresay a lot has happened since p 121!! I HAVE read this page tho and see that Heidi is still trying to Tricia to behave..don't know what the problem is but I hope you are following all the good advice Tricia!!
Gail cyber wishes to Megan and while you are tossing the s**t around try not to lob any on THIS bean...

What's been going on....
Where to start...I know it is almost my birthday because the grapevine has turned the most glorious burgundy colour....must take a photo. Looks wonderful against the tank that Gail helped install 6 months ago.
Today I woke up to discover that I still had ankles... holey moley...wonders will never cease...they have since disappeared and I am once again having trouble walking... such is life. Still juggling medications and dreaming about being fully mobile again...small steps...but this is where my stubborn nature comes in handy... I have nothing to complain about compared to my brother. I still haven't come to terms with that. I stopped the medication that I am not game to drive with so that hopefully I may be able to drive up and see him. Only problem with that of course is that the resurgence of hip pain makes it VERY difficult to drive... Things are NOT good and I know that you know what I mean Nola.

Lachie has signed up and started a bakers apprenticeship... I'm hoping he will bring home a baguette for me to try instead of just telling me how good he is getting at making them!! He has been making a lot of pies and this morning he brought home some lentil pies. Not something I would previously have gone for first but they are delicious. Lachie has always been a 'Four & Twenty' true blue ozzie and I was surprised when he told me how good they were. He even eats REAL bread now!! Not that ghastly supermarket pap.
I AM having trouble adjusting to bakers hours. Last week he swapped from starting at 1.30am to 9.30pm... much easier to adjust to. Means we are eating not much later than normal and Jessie [dog] & I get to see a bit of him in the morning. Apprentice wages are pretty shocking but it is wonderful to see him doing something that he really enjoys... I am looking forward to him taking over my kitchen...

Hi everyone.
Best wishes going to all who are in pain or are ill.
I have been sitting with FIL in the hospital twice a day every day this week.
We pray he does not have to wait much longer.
He has had enough and every morning he wakes up he does not want to be here.
So hard to watch.

I sit by the bed and quietly do my Sudoku's.
(Well as quiet as I can be for someone like me).
Tomorrow is Anzac day of course.
John will have been going to Cafe 66 for 11 years exactly tomorrow.
I cannot make it there tomorrow but have paid for his coffee today and wished him all the best.
I truly believe if I could not go there I would go mad lately.
It is great to sit and do the coffee and crosswords and have a breather.
