I hope it is a dinner for two Suzy. I won a few things but that is over 40 years ago! We also listen to that show if we are in the car.
What a bummer brenda. Just shows what does happen at times. I remeber some one giving out prises for jokes (on a show that has recently returned to Aussie TV after many years) and I knew the prise was going to his sister!

Lost the bowls game but gave a good fight. It was the first to reach 31. I led the way until we had 15 all, then I got another 2 and then the other played found her mark and even when I got my bowls in place she came and got a better shot. She is one of our Pennant Players, a coach and plays in quite a few competitions. Disappointed but felt I had played a reasonable game. It was also quite hot and I am still quite 'achey' from yesterday.
I liked the photos of Jorgie and the 2 year old.

Heidi, I do hope you get your tooth fixed but I have a feeling that you will have to take antibiotics until the infection has gone.
Hi to everyone. I am making it an early night. I just feel extremely tired!

June - would that be the Saturday show that's now on a Wednesday?
I know someone who is a journalist and edits the entertainment section in a paper. Most competitions she runs are won by friends and relatives - movie tickets etc.

I would love a pancake Rolanda.
That is the show CynB. The person concerned passed away some years ago.
I have been asleep but woke up and went for a drink.

Interesting development, toothwise. The swelling is worse... the whole side of the face is now bulging.... but the pain has subsided drastically. I think the tooth has died. But I'll HAVE to go on antibiotics for the rampant infection.

I'd LOVE some pancakes, Rolanda. Are these covered with maple syrup, preserves, or some other topping?

Rolanda, is your mom back in her own home now? Staying on her own? Sorry if I missed that if you have posted it. What is this ACAT assessment? Not familiar with Aussie acronyms.

Broni, love the spelling of the name, very pretty.

Suzy, congrats on the win! Enjoy that finner out when you go.

Brenda, how totally unfair of the radio station. Would have been easy enough to set a policy on how many wins one person could have, make it above board and honest.

Rolanda, what's for dinner?

OK, finished page 193, will post this fore i loose it.

Just got back from looking after my youngest grandie. My daughter's ear has been really sore lately and today it was accompanied by a headache, so she took a taxi to the local hospital. They told her they didn't see anything and that she was probably just stuffed up and to take Tylenol. She told them she's been taking Tylenol for the last four days and it hasn't helped. So she is going to try to get an appointment with her own doctor ASAP.

Heidi, hope your dentist's appointment goes well and the pain gets relieved. I had an abscess about 30 years ago and I remember the pain well. They had to drain my jaw and pile on some heavy duty antibiotics. I was also told that if I hadn't come in when I did, they would have had to drain the jaw from the outside. I feel your pain!!!

Rolanda, if there are any pancakes left over, I'll take chocolate on mine. I've never tried it, but for some reason I've got chocolate on the brain today.

It's starting to storm here and the same is forecast for tomorrow. You don't know this about me, but I'm terrified of storms. I think Heidi should send me some of the tranks for the dogs. My mom and dad grew up in Holland where they had some fierce storms ... in fact a relative of my mom's was killed by lightning. When I was a kid if it was storming during the night, we had to get up and get dressed (even shoes) and sit on the couch until the storm was over. That way if the lightning hit the house we'd be ready to go. Friends of the family, also Dutch descent, went even further than that ... they all piled into the car and waited out the storm. I guess that's where my fear of storms comes from. I'm usually OK if someone else is in the house, BUT I'M ALONE!!!

I used to have a cat Sprite (passed away this last Valentine's Day) who was also afraid of storms. He and I would sit on the stairs together during bad storms, because on the stairs you couldn't see any of the windows.

I know, I know, grow up woman!!!!

My sister sent me this ... so true (at least for me):

If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,

If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,

If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,

If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,

If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,

If you can conquer tension without medical help,

If you can relax without liquor,

If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

.....Then You Are Probably The Family Dog!

I love thunder and lightning storms. If I can watch the lightning I am happy. We don't get many really dramatic storms.

Hi Brenda. Fortunately I did not pass on my fear to my daughter. Her husband loves to watch storms also.

We have many lilac bushes on our property and they are now in bloom. Every time I walk out the door I can smell them ... just love it.

Time to hit the kitchen and start supper. The storm has stopped for now. But my microwave died!! I'm in the habit of preparing meals ahead of time and freezing them and then we can just nuke them when needed. Gosh, I'm going to have to use the stove now!

Speaking of thunder storms, I was in my late 20's before I was able to stay in bed when a storm started. I didn't realize that other people didn't get up and get dressed when a storm hit!

Theresa.... my beloved grandmother was terrified of thunderstorms, too. She would hide in the basement at the first hint of thunder. I've always enjoyed them, myself. A friend and I used to put on a recording of a thunderstorm DURING a thunderstorm, then order pizza to be delivered. The delivery guy would freak out that the storm was worse inside than outside. With some of the older dogs being so afraid of the storms... they weren't afraid when they were younger.... I can't play thunderstorm recordings any more.

I'm back from the Dentist. She had to open it up to drain the buckets of puss out, and I'm on heavy antibiotics and painkillers. Because of all the swelling, and the size of the abscess, we have to wait a week before the oral surgery. I get to have another apicoectomy (apico for short). That's where they go in through the side instead of through the tooth. It entails making a large incision in the gum, then removing the bone over the tooth. It's the only way we can go because not only has that tooth had a root canal already, but it's a support tooth for a bridge.

I decided to treat myself on the way home from the Dentist's. I had to stop at a pet shop for an emergency supply of dog food, so I bought myself another Budgie. This one is a dark blue/grey baby. Now I have an even number of Budgies again.

Morning all - just dropping in quickly at the start of a very busy day for me.
Heidi - pleased you got to the dentist, sorry it's going to be so complicated to fix. So happy Doc's surgery went well.
Theresa - I've always been afraid in storms and I did pass that on to my daughter (not my son, though) by getting them up in the middle of the night during a raging storm and making them sit in what I thought was a secure place with pillows and doonas for protection. I'm not that bad now but I do fret when I'm home alone and one hits.
Have a nice day!

Great news about Doc, Heidi! Another budgie for IH not to notice.

Cyn, you and I would make a great pair during a storm. On Wednesdays I pick up the grandies from the bus stop and it's always a fear that some Wednesday it will be storming. I will have to get them, but ....

It's starting to storm again. What strange weather we're having. I can see the lightning and hear the thunder, but yet the sun is still out. Fortunately hubby is home now.

Cyn and Theresa, I have always loved a storm if I was in a safe building. My youngest would often go to the high point in our hilly neighborhood, and watch a storm move across the valley, such fun. Her father thought me daff, and accused me of endangering our daughter. We were in no danger, never went out if we had tornado warnings or watches.

Heidi, thanks for letting us know about Doc. I am happy to hear the surgery went well. Continued good wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. Same for you, hope that tooth gets better now.

out of time, must assist hubby fling food, catch you later.

Heidi, good news about Doc. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Be a good girl and take all of your medicine. Will send good vibes to you also with your upcoming oral surgery.
Suzy, enjoy your dinner out, hope it was dinner for two.
I have won 2 prizes from the radio station. The first was for knowing when Disney World opened. That was 4 tickets to a musical. Dylan fell asleep in the middle of it (he was only 4). The other was a $50 gift card. I was the second prize winner for the worst experience of being regifted. I received a Hickory Farms gift set one Christmas that had expired in March. It was 9 months past its good date when I was given it. This was from one of my in-laws. At least it gave me a funny story.

In the meantime, I wish everyone good health and much happiness! Take care of yourselves and those you love!

Morning all!
My girls were afraid of thunder storms when they were very young because they were born in SoCal where there were very few. I don't know if we had any in the time they lived there. When we moved here I used to take them to a safe place to watch them and rant and rave about how beautiful they were. They're not afraid anymore.

Ally is the prize queen. She has won tickets to Disney on Ice, photos worth $500 and $100 to spend at KMart. Poor Dana has only won her photo with the substitute Wiggles and a Wiggles CD - hehe. All colouring competitions.

Theresa, sounds like your d's local hospital is just like ours! Hopeless! From my personal experience they have sent Ally home with a fracture (not the big break, another one), nearly overdosed my mother on pain killers (ICU to watch her afterwards) and sent home the father of one of my d's friends basically telling him to take acetominophen (3 times) when he actually had a malignant tumor wrapped around his spine.

Tami, I love your regifted story! I did something similar, but not quite as bad. I won 13th prize in a raffle. It was a set of the ugliest napkins/serviettes you have even seen, and obviously a very old set. I wrapped them up and gave them to my SIL for her 30th! She actually thanked me for the lovely gift before we got her real present out of the car.
