Thank you all for the special wishes for Judy during her chemo.
She had the PET scan and rang yesterday to say she is CANCER FREE. Has to go back in 6 months to check again. She is feeling so relieved and knows that your prayers have helped.

No. The dogs were too excited about the men working on the new barn. They kept jumping on me to get me up to go and see what was happening.

You would have needed a good sleep to help your body begin to heal, too.
Glad that the barn is underway.

The men are gone for the day. It's a super windy day, which limits what they can do. Today they got the corner posts (18 foot tall 6"x6"s) in the ground, braced, and in concrete.

I'm going to try to get some sleep now. I just had to take another pain pill (hydrocodone) and am waiting for it to kick in.

Morning all!
Judy, what fantastic news!! That is grounds for a party!
June, thinking of you! I hope the cream and drops start working to clear up the problem soon.
Heidi, I agree, shut the door. It's his office, he will get sick of it eventually, or his helper will.

I have this desire to come into a lot of money so I can afford a trip down under to meet all of my friends in person. I can't afford it now and don't know if I ever will be able to but it is something I keep hoping for.

A ponderable: why do I only snort when reading funny things online and not in real life? Or do I snort in real life too and just not notice. Hmmm. The deep and meaningful thoughts of my day...

As I have said to her, if the other's can do it, no reason she can't. I do hope she gets it, I also hope I can cope with #4 being a learner for the next two years

Good luck with that Gail! Best wishes to Hannah! I'm sure she'll be fine.
Trying to teach 2 to drive at the same time was horrendous. I was so glad when they got their licences. I absolutely hate the feeling of being out of control when sitting next to a learner at the wheel.

Nola, that's great news about Judy.
Heidi, I hope you get to rest so you can start the recuperation process.
I heard some awful news last night. Friends of mine have separated after 20+ years of marriage. I was so upset I felt really shocked and wanted to have a good cry. When I told Kevin he was just as shocked. They have had a couple of bad years - her mother died from breast cancer and then 18 months later her father died from heart failure. In between time the hubby got sick and started to lose significant amounts of weight. There was no real cause and he ended up seeing a psychologist. I never knew there were any problems in their marriage though. I just want to go and give them both a big hug.

I hated the loss of control once the kids were able to drive on their own and I was at home worrying if they would remember all that their father had taught them... scary times, yet we do have to let them grow don't we...I don't envy those of you now going through it ...but you will survive, with a few gray hairs becoming a lot....keep that color handy if you use it or flaunt the gray as I did as a badge of courage.... BTW...Greetings and salutations...and this time I can't blame lack of sleep for poor manners....Can I just claim being old???? I got 6 straight hours of restorative sleep and it felt so good,,, Still on the steroids, but at a decreasing rate which is a big help...the infection is waning and I seem to be getting better. I'm glad because I get to celebrate this day in remembering the greatest Mother's Day gift I have ever received...the birth of my wonderful son. Only regret I had was that he didn't wait a few more days to be born on my Mom's birthday, missed it by 3 days or hang on to be born on mine, missed that by 2 weeks....but he wanted and got His own day...so be it! Happy Birthday Michael!

Mum's ACAT assessment went well. We were there for almost 5 hours (While we were there we saw the resident Doctor regarding mum's breathing problems. He examined her, sent her off to have xrays, ecg and blood tests.. The Doctor confirmed there was still fluid in the lungs, and has upped her fluid tabs from 1 to 3).
Back assessment - we saw Nurse, Physio ( she couldnt do anything because of her breathing probs - physio referred us to the Dr), and the Social Worker.
Lots of Questions asked, forms filled out.....
lots of waiting about....
We got the important boxes ticked (with mum's agreement) the Respite Care and the Care Facility.
Once we have the Assessment Number, we can apply to Care Facilities for Low Care. So when a room is available, Mum can say no I am not ready, and she will go back on the waiting list.
Meanwhile she will be eliable for more Home Help. Mum has requested that the Home Help comes from the Dutch Aged Care.

Great news today...Nola so glad to here that the report on Judy was such a good one. Long may it continue.
Heidi, Glad the surgery was a little better than you had expected, and that the pain and remaining healing will soon just be a done deal. as for the carpet...put some opened bleach containers in some place in the office that won't affect your birds or other animals, have someone at least remove the padding under the carpet and send the bill to Gil. Something must be done to protect your health...and his...Mold is dangerous. Perhaps print out what mold can do to one's health if not treated, it might make him realize you aren't just nagging, or at least give him cause to ponder.
Interesting reading on p2 of easy...
Julie...condolences on the passing of your mil, and hopefully you will listen to all of the ladies that have said what I felt and feel...We are here for each other through thick and thin, good and bad times, as well as the silly, giddy dumb times...We are SA....Friends united in love and compassion who criss-cross the world while plying our gifts to and for each other... hankies always at the ready...don't need a hankie...then just sit and have a chinwag or two...served with plenty of food and drink...ahhh bliss....join us always, don't hold back...you are us! Peace.

Gail, those driving instructors only look old ... they're actually only in their 20's (tee hee).
Nola, good news re Judy. We will all continue to keep her in our thoughts.
Had my physical today and a few problems had cropped up since my last physical a year ago. I don't really want to talk about it yet, but have to go for some tests and wait for today's results ... keep your fingers crossed, please.
