Ooooooh... tomorrow is gonna be SO exciting tomorrow, MizT. Pins out! Maybe cast off! I hope the Doc is delighted with your progress. Remember that the hand will be very weak and sore for a while. You may even wish to have the cast back on.

Trying to get supper ready for Don and his wife Barb. IH KNOWS that they're coming, but he hasn't shown up, nor is he answering his cell phone.

Good morning all and a special to Nola. Have a great day.
Heidi - hope IH turned up for his dinner.
MizT - good news that you get the pins out of your hand tomorrow.
June - don't tell me it took 3 months to get a car fixed? Fingers in my ears, eyes closed - lalalalalalala. It does worry me that they may need to get parts from OS or similar. Fingers crossed that it gets done quickly.

IH showed up after we finished eating. Lamb burgers, sweet corn on the cob and watermelon for supper. Had a nice meal, but heard disturbing news. A niece of Don's (IH's cousin's daughter) tried to commit suicide last week. She jumped off a 40 ft. bridge. Arms and legs broken, as well as her jaw. And nearly every internal organ is damaged. She's barely clinging to life. They don't know if she'll make it. She's married with 3 children. The youngest, a 2 year old, was with her when she jumped. She left him in the car.

It's cold and wet here today and I have not long put a beef Massaman curry in the slow cooker. The aroma is permeating the house already at 11am - I am going to be so ready for it by the time we eat tonight.

Hi everyone. Hope all is well with all my friends.
Tricia, will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Heidi, glad the tractor lesson and dinner went well. Sorry to hear about the cousin. Hope she gets the help she needs.
Vici, glad you stopped back in for a visit.
Hope everyone's car repairs work out well. I will know tomorrow if mine are covered. If they are covered, my insurance will pay for a rental. I need a car and made sure to have rental on my insurance. For those not here 18 months ago, there still might be a picture on my page of the damage to my van. Don't remember what else I have read but I do hope everyone is having a wonderful day/night.

That's so sad Heidi. ♥ :(
I have another friend who has just posted a RIP on FB for a friend who took her life. She said her friend was always so happy...you just don't know what is going on in other people's minds. They say look for the warning signs, but what if they are not there.

Good Evening, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Hi, Heidi, Theresa, Vicki, CynB, Gail, V Viv, Suzy, June, MizTricia, V Vici, Brenda, Nola, Tami and anyone I may have missed!

Heidi, with my eye sight, 14 inch letters would not be big enough. How much larger do the letters come? Good luck teaching IH's cousin how to drive a tractor!

Vicki, I'm so sorry the server had to go out for repairs again. That makes for a long and boring day.

Theresa, you mentioned thunder in the east. I haven't heard if they got rain to help slow the forest fires.

Gail, Cyn, and Suzy, so sorry that the rental car clause was optional and in fine print. I would have never noticed either. Tami, you are very clever to have thought of including a clause for rental. Hoping those repair persons work quickly and well so you can get your cars back soon! June, I hope your car's repairs go well later this month! My apologies if I have missed anyone else who is or will be getting work done on their cars!

Viv, what a busy day packaging up orders, coffee and crosswords with John, delivering the Avon books for perusing, banana cakey dessert made, accompanying gf for the school pick-up! I hope with a a good night's sleep John is feeling better! Sending him some SA vibes!

June, so glad your grandson's package arrived safely! Did he like his birthday present?

Heidi, I'm glad to hear that the tractor driving/operating lesson went well. It's a shame that Don wasn't able to get all the way home before running into difficulties! I hope all was not lost and repairs were made!

MizT, I'm glad you slept well and woke to less swelling this morning - only to have swelling return later! (NOT glad about that part!) Good Luck tomorrow at the doctor appointment. I hope it will result in less discomfort and more ease of movement! Remember to give your had time to adjust to no support from pins and cast. Wishing the best for you! Take care!

Woo Hoo, V Vici popped in! So sorry to hear about the pain in your knee. Sending healing positive Sudoku vibes for a quick recovery! I hope it doesn't sideline you too much with the work needing to be done on the raised veggie garden beds. I hope installing the irrigation system goes well!

to you!
to you!
dear sweet busy Nola!
to you!
Sending virtual flowers for your special day and hope you have a yummy to share with those who can celebrate with you! All the best to you in the coming year!

MizT, I hope you and Al enjoyed your dinner! Did the storm arrive?

Heidi, your dinner sounded yummy! I hope Don and Barb enjoyed it! Did you save anything for IH to reheat? So sorry to hear about IH's cousin's daughter's jump from the bridge! Sending positive vibes and prayers for her and all of her family! If she recovers, I hope she will be able to get the help and support she needs!

Theresa and Gail, you're so right that it is difficult/impossible to know what is g

Cyn, I'm going to check out that youtube you posted.

Hi, Rolanda! Have a good lunch after you get the groceries put away!

Suzy, I hope you find a way to get lots of mess cleaned/straightened/put away in the time before your Mum arrives tomorrow. We got started on some of our piles of mail/magazines, etc. today and still have MUCH to do! Good luck!

Hi everyone!
Nola, I hope you have had a wonderful birthday.

I agree with what Julie just said - nicely expressed thanks Julie.
Very busy again today. I've just helped to take 300 orange staplers out of cartons that are packed with 2 each blue, black and orange. We have a customer who wants the orange and we are happy to oblige - cause no-one else wants orange.
Thank goodness the day is nearly over, only tomorrow and I've finished again for the week.
Sorry I can't get on at home. Shaun's girlfriend has been sleeping over and is using my laptop to work on her assignment.
Have a good night everyone and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.

I fell asleep EARLY last night. Laid down to take a nap around 9 pm, and didn't wake up until 8 am. Dogs didn't get fed.

Don's tractor is fine. He was a victim of IH, as I thought, but in a different way. The fuel gauge on the tractor stuck. IH told Don that he's filled up the tractor with diesel the day before, but he lied! Don ran out of fuel.

Niece Jackie was always an outgoing, effervescent girl. She's been suffering from severe clinical depression but hid it very well. It hasn't helped that her husband is without a job, but doesn't seem to care, and spends money like he's made of it. That's put a huge burden on Jackie. I can understand why she tried to take her life.

Today is the day, I will be out of here in a couple of hours. I hope today resolves the problems.

Heidi, I am glad it was only out of fuel, much less expensive than trash in fuel lines and carb. Cousin's first lesson about Gil, if they do not already know that is. Well, dogs had a good appetite for breakfast today I imagine, or do you feed only once a day? I have forgotten.

Broni, happy for you, that you have fullfilled your obligations to D&D. I hope you are happier without that stress.

Vickie, good you can get on line at work, while you are loaning your computer evenings. Someone needs 300 staplers? no accounting for taste, happy for you, selling the unpopular orange ones.

Theresa, has the smokey air improved? what is the report on the fires??

Garden report: One of mt tomato plants has 6 baby tomatoes of varying sizes now. Wonder how much longer till I have ripe ones? guessing mid month, I was late getting them in, we had a cold spring.

My crepe myrtle is so loaded with blooms, the branches are drooping under the weight. Never bloomed that much before.

I have day lilies a friend brought me from her former home in Chicago. Standard orange day lilies, but they year after year bloom 2 weeks earlier than my Alabama orange day lilies.

more later perhaps, time for more coffee. breakfast and to finish dressing.

Good luck today with the hand MizT.
Everything in our gardens are at least three weeks behind normal times, we had a very bad start to the year and then a very cold snap just after it started to warm up.

Morning all. Just got up from a nap because I worked most of the night. Must have coffee, coffee, coffee ......

MizT, good luck today ... I'll be thinking of you.

A day or two of rain have helped the Quebec forest fires a bit. Apparently there are still about 5 out of control now. The haze and smoke went as far south as Boston and Cape Cod. I can still smell the smoke a very little bit, but the haze has lifted.

It's frightening that you can go about your business one minute (such as the farmer in the field) and be killed the next for no apparent reason. Apparently one of the taxi drivers he shot was a friend of his ... how can a mind go so wrong?

It is a very sparsely populated area of England, small towns interspersed with a lot of beautiful countryside. People in communities would know if anyone was missing. As he was driving a lot of the time the police would be able to follow his route closely, he finally abandoned the car in a place called Boot and went on foot to where he was found dead

Checking in without reading. Home from doc and therpy, PINS ARE OUT!! I have a new splint on my hand/wrist, for use when in bed, or when out in a crowd so no one bumps that thumb. It is also to stretch thumb out and away from my palm. starting tomorrow, I can do some simple exercises for fingers and wrist. He gave me more pain pills, guess it is expected to still hurt some.

more later, nap time now, errands tired me, but it was that "while we are so near" thing, you know?
