Morning all!
That is good news MizT.

The shootings in Cumbria, however, were not good news. We all feel safe in our regular, familiar world. How scary to have this happen in one's own community. Not even to mention the friends and family that could be lost to such a senseless act.

I have one sick little girl (Emily) asleep on my couch this morning. She got sick at school yesterday, threw up in her Dad's car on the way home, and was sick all night. If she doesn't improve, it's off to the Docs with her this am.
Hence, I have half a pot of Massaman curry in the freezer!!

Wonderful news MizT.

So sad for the people of Cumbria :(

Poor Emily, hope it's just a 24 hour thingy.

Heidi, how tragic about the niece. Suicide, such a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I hoipe in this case it is not permanent. Sending SA vibes for a recovery for her.

drats, still cannot type 2 handed, I got that short paragraph, and whole left hand said, ENOUGH. OK Tricia, this is going to be a gradual thing, regaining use of hand and fingers. I will concentrate on doing exercises Ashley approved. she did say I needed time for that wound caused be pulling pins to heal. She was surprised I could curl my fingers to touch palm, I had that much "wiggle" in my cast for last 3 weeks, it was cut low around my fingers, and I had been exercising them. So a bit ahead of the game. Thanks for all the good wished today.

Teresa, I am happy for you the smoky hase has gone. Hope Quebec gets more needed rains. Do you mind saying what you do, that you work all night on such deadlines? I have wondered.

So frightening to hear about the shooting rampage. Do they know anything about the shooter? something that triggered such action?

Morning all!
Yay MizT!! I hope the exercises bring you back full, pain free movement sooner rather than later.

A sad day today for the people of Cumbria. I can't imagine the horror they are feeling. I am very lucky that I also cannot imagine the pain and anger that man must have been feeling to do what he did.

Heidi and Gail, I am so sorry about your news. I had a friend commit suicide once and it left me with an empty feeling wondering what if anything I could have done. It's such a sad waste of life.

Poor Emily and poor son (having to clean that up!). I hope she feels better soon.

Well I have to kick on as mum is already on her way here. Have I told you before how much I love my hubby? He got up early this morning and did a bunch of the jobs I have been waiting ages for him to do for me, and some of mine too!!!

I had a cousin commit suicide at 16 years old. His mother, my step-father's sister, was truly mentally disturbed and a nightmare to be around. Her older son, Bill, was a gentle, kind soul, who didn't fit in with his family. He was a year younger than me, and one of only 2 people in that entire family that I liked.

I have also had people close to me attempt suicide, none successfully. It is not fun having to deal with. Thoughts to everyone who have gone through it.
Tricia, glad the pins are out. Take it easy with your hand.
Heidi, glad the canaries arrived safely.
Cyn, hope Emily is feeling better soon.

Brought my van to the insurance adjuster today. I left them my Mazda minivan and drove out in a Jeep Liberty. They will contact me in a few days to let me know how long repairs will take. At least they are admitting they are at fault for the damage. With that, I am going to sleep. Did not sleep well last night and I am feeling it now.

Good Evening, Everyone!

Hi, Vicki, Broni, CynB, Heidi, MizTricia, Brenda, Theresa, Gail, Suzy, Tami, and anyone I've missed!

Vicki, unpacking all those orange staplers sounds repetitive and tiring. It's lucky that someone wants 300 orange staplers. They won't need to be put on clearance when all of the blue and blacks ones have been sold. Wow, 150 cartons to open and sort out! We miss you when you can't post from home, but that's very considerate of you to let Shaun's girlfriend use your laptop! (Does she eat when she stays over? I remember you saying that she ate very little one time.)

Woo Hoo, Broni, you're unemployed! (Does that mean you are TOTALLY unemployed - or just the end of the commitment with D & D?) Cyn, I see you're as confused as I am.

Heidi, you had a great night's sleep! I guess the dogs must have been OK, or one of them would have nudged and poked you until you woke up to feed them. What a relief that bad fuel didn't damage Don's new tractor! Does replacing the fuel gauge cost much? So glad the canaries have arrived safely! So sorry to hear what Niece Jackie was dealing with! Sending more prayers and positive vibes for her - and all of her family! What is the medical prognosis?

MizT, I an SO glad that all went well at the doctor appointment. I hope you had a great nap after your appointment and errands! Please go easy on your hand, do your physical therapy exercises, and above all, LISTEN to what your hand is telling you! We can deal without having long posts as long as you occasionally pop in and let us know you're around and have been reading!

Theresa, I don't know how you do it! Up most of the night working, then up again with only a nap! So glad there's less smoke smell to deal with from the fires in Quebec! I also had not heard about the shootings in England. How absolutely awful!

Brenda, thank you for sharing more information about the shootings and the locale!

Cyn, I hope Emily is feeling better now!

Suzy, sounds like your hubby is definitely a keeper! He obviously understands how you feel when your Mum is visiting and critiquing the cleanliness/neatness of your house! I hope her visit goes well! Please report in as you find time!

Hugs to all who have experience a relative, friend or acquaintance either commit suicide or attempt it! It only leaves questions for those left behind!

Tami, I'm glad the auto repair/body shop admit their mistake. Hopefully your van will be repaired correctly and quickly! I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight!

Heidi, I hope the new collies adjust quickly to their new home with you!

Coffee break.... only have the sucky thing and making her bed left to go... well, there's a lot more that I could do to avoid some of the lectures, but when hubby got up and did that stuff for me this morning I had a bit of a reality check. She can take me as I am or not at all!

Hi everyone! I'm just back quickly.

MizT, I hope your hand starts to heal quickly now that the pins are out of our thumb.

CynB, I hope Emily recovers quickly. Yuk, to cleaning up vomit in a car. Please post the Masaman curry recipe.

Broni, I'm confused about your new unemployed status. Please explain!

Heidi, good luck with the new collies and canaries. Boo Hiss to IH for not refueling his cousins tractor. That's terrible news about Don's cousins attempted suicide. I hope she recovers physically and mentally.

Two of my cousins (brothers) committed suicide. The youngest had bi-polar and no-one knows quite why the oldest killed himself. My aunt thinks he was never the same after his wife left him. My aunt also has bi-polar and obviously it was passed down the line.

Terrible news from Cumbria. I just don't understand. I don't understand why someone snaps like that and then why they can just simply shoot innocent bystanders. It's just a heart breaking tragedy for all involved.

I was amazed to read that Andy Murray (the tennis player) survived the Dunblane massacre in Scotland in 1996. Apparently he hid under his school desk.

I'm going again. Best wishes to all - keep well and safe.

Hello my friends. Thinking of you all.
Sorry to have confused you all regarding my employment status, but I was just soooo happy to get my final pay and all my holiday pay from D&D, their finances are not that good........Didn't get back to see your questions as I still have Teresa staying here and my cous Maz did me a favour yesterday and waited for the Foxtel repair guy so had a full house last night.
I am still working one day a week for D&D until the end of June and working 4 days a week "unoffically" for my old bosses until the end of June, then I will go on the books. Sure I have made this as clear as mud!

Still have missed reading a few pages so love and hugs for everyone.
MizT listen to your hand.
Heidi, your life amazes me, stay strong and happy.
Zusy hope you have a good time with your Mum, as Dag says 'it is what it is'
Tami, missed what was happening with your car but sounds like it is being sorted.
Julie, thanks once again for the update, so how are you?
Non of the down under girls mentioned the tornado at Lennox Head (northern NSW) guess the killings in Northern England were more shocking as to date everyone has survived at Lennox Head.

A very busy day tomorrow. MIL will be 96. We are taking her out to lunch. I found a very good local restaurant who will give the % of the food for up to 8 people if you are the first to book some one is actually celebrating their birthday on that day (proof of birthday needed).Just think 96% off the food bill and Ken booked to go somewhere else.

We also have a BBQ at the bowling club the first Friday of each month with different people preparing the salads etc. As no one would offer to do anything this month muggins me has just peeled and sliced 6kilo of potatoes and 1 kilo of onions to make a large potato bake. (About 50 people). I think I have made them a bit thick so I just hope they taste OK. They are in the oven now and I will put the cheese on reheat tomorrow night.
I have a very big request. I do not want any comments on here and especially FB but my 'friend' has a very big and important test tomorrow and she needs every prayer and good vibes for a reasonable result. Please just think of her quietly at about 12.30pm. Thanks to you all.

Hi Everyone.
Hope your hand recovers very soon MizT.
June, what a job, you sound like you could have been on Masterchef last night.
Good news on your car Gail.
Yes Lennox Head certainly took the brunt of that tornado.
It has been pouring non stop nearly all day here and pelting down still as I type this.
I have been out in it all day until 5.30pm delivering my Avon.
I have the run with gf tomorrow arvo to the school out at Beechwood so hope the rain eases.
I have cooked some rhubarb and tomorrow will mix this with pie apple and then make the crumble topping for her.
She gave me some of her homemade soup the other day and it was lovely so I am returning the favour.
Good wishes going to all who need them.
Nite.

Broni, if I listened to my hand yesterday, I would put it on a soft pillow and carry it around forever hehehe. It will take work, and a bunch of OUCH moments to get it back to working order. I do want it working again! I do understand you though, a warning to not do too much, too soon. I am listening.

A woman who had same surgery, but without pins, was at the hand therapy table. She was 3 months post op, and had lots more movement than I do. Gives me hope.

yeah Gail, she has wheels again. Where you going today??

WOW. June, that would have been a great discount for the birthday gathering!! Hope you enjoy the meal wherever you have it. I will start now to think quietly, hugs to your friend.

Hubby and I are not long home after watching Hannah rock the house down at a concert for the music class groups. Hubby had seen the video of the last performance, but I think he was pretty impressed with her, this being the first time he's seen her live.

MizT, you were asking about what work I do that requires "all-nighters". I type up court transcripts on the computer and sometimes I get a call that one of the cases is required ASAP ... which means I'm up working. Since I work at home, I can grab a nap when possible so it's not usually too bad. So glad your hand is progressing!

Suzy, hope you enjoy your mum's visit! Does your mum still give you "the look"?

June, wow, what a discount at the restaurant. With so many baby boomers aging, perhaps the restaurant might want to reconsider their pricing policy (but hopefully not). (12:30)

Morning all!
Mum has already gone off visiting a friend who starts work in an hour, Hubby went to work early and the girls have just got on the bus - you know what that means..... Empty house!!!!

Hubby was most impressed by how much work I got done yesterday, and so far no lectures or looks! Mum loved her birthday present - the book from the art exhibition we went to. Ally sang her the songs she has been teaching herself on guitar and Mum said she's going to book her for Easter to sing at the gallery and busk/busque (how do you spell that?) outside. I will have to tell Mum later that that's what Ally's friend has been doing for her grandparents!

MizT, I hope the exercises work on your hand. Julie helped us to understand how overdoing it can make you feel!

Theresa, I think I'm too old for all nighters now! I don't know how you do it.

Viv, I can't imagine delivering Avon in that rain yesterday - and you would have had it a lot worse than we did!
