You deserve a good coffee with friends Suzy. Hope everything works out well for Three.
Your hand will slowly improve Tricia. Please do not push too hard.
Wonderful news Theresa. Lets hope things soon improve for your daughter.
Nice to see Julie back.

Morning all!
Hubby and Ebob are off to baseball. Ebob then has to work from 2 to 7. I figure when we drop her off will be a good time to challenge scum bag.

Nola, congratulations!! Great news about your assignment!

Heidi, good on Robert's father! Did you call him and dob? (tattle?) Isn't that crazy about the hay haulers. All of those farmers paying out money for repairs they probably didn't need to... I bet you don't in future - as long as you are the one doing the hauling.

Theresa, that is fantastic news!! I am so glad you had a thoughtful doctor who told you the news and didn't make you wait!!!! It must feel like you're 10kg lighter.

MizT, what June said. Though I understand your impatience.

Now I have to go back a page and see what I missed....

June, hugs and vibes to your friend. Have a great time with Bev!

Three is not perfect, none of us are. But the accusations that are being thrown at him and his work mates are physically impossible! His boss has been short paying them and keeping the rest for himself. The big boss came down to investigate and now his boss is trying to say that the people he was short paying have been skimming. How could they?

Hi all. Just stopping in for minute. I read the posts but I don't remember what I have read. Good news for Theresa and some old friends stopped in for a visit.

We are going to visit friends tomorrow so I have brownies in the oven and am hoping to bake a cake to bring. I volunteered for dessert. I enjoy baking and don't get a chance too often, trying not to eat too many sweets.

Good morning all.
Theresa - such good news for you about the squishy thing. Must have been an awful wait.
June - enjoy your meeting with Bev. And, as usual, your friend will be in my thoughts this week.
Suzy - this problem with Three at work - his own parents should be defending him. The boss will get found out for what he is, but the parents - bring on the Karma!
Heidi - poor Robert, he must have been in pain!

Ah well - nothing goes right for us lately! In the cold light of day this morning, Col has discovered that they made a mess of painting one of the doors of my car (right down at the bottom of the door) - darnit!!! - that means more time in being fixed. I told him not this week - I want to enjoy my freedom for a little while first!

Good Morning Rolanda and just how cold is it today?

Cyn, I agree, you need to keep the car a bit fore it goes back in for repair of the paint.

Tami, enjoy your meeting with friends, your deserts sound yummy.

Suzy, hope the case of the discrepancy of funds at work is figured out and those young people who were shorted their wages get their back pay, with interest!

Heidi. did you not hear anything about Robert? I have checked in to see how he is doing and found nothing yet.

Off to bed, I just cannot keep eyes open tonight.

I have heard nothing from Robert. I expect he's staying at the hospital, probably for surgery. He was in massive amounts of pain, enough to make him cry.
I didn't tattle on him to his father... I don't have his phone number. His father happened to call him to chat, and asked what was wrong.

Everyone! Still haven't finished unpacking yet. We both had acupuncture appointments yesterday - about 3 1/2 hours worth - and instructions to rest when we got home. It seems like we have a lot of mail to go through and bills to pay. It's such a delight to come home after being away - not.

I will try to read and do some comments tonight, but may not get very far.

I saw Nola's question about the life-span of a fighting fish. A friend's has recently died after she had it for more than 3 1/2 years. That's the only experience I have with them. Nola, I'm thinking of you and sending prayers for Greg's quick recovery and lots of positive vibes for him, for you, for your son and his family and for a hopefully smooth-going re-submit of an assignment. Just take a deep breath and concentrate on one thing at a time. Remember that your friends here support you and yours! We are happy to help you shoulder your burdens, whether large or small. (That goes for everyone here!)

Theresa, sending lots of positive vibes and prayers for you and your daughter and her little ones! If it helps at all, I regularly (every couple of years) get called back after my annual squishy appointment for further views. Hopefully that is all that you are facing. Remember, we're here for you as well! It's too bad we aren't all as close geographically as we have become through our posts! You have our support and encouragement! I'm so glad your D's MIL is also able to help out!

MizT, it sounds like your girls' vacation was great! What a super way to spend time together and bond between generations! So sorry you had to come home to a leak and wet clothes! I hope all is well now! I'm so glad you have the exercise putty from Heidi! It should make quite a difference with your therapy! I hope your hand is continuing to improve!

Happy Belated Birthday to Ally! Suzy, I hope all is going well with Three! Has he moved to the shelter? How is Ebob's nose?

Heidi, has the new budgie acclimated? How are things going with the sunroom? George really seems to be a wonderful contractor!

CynB, so glad power was finally restored and the repaired car returned home!

Victoria, you certainly have busy! We're glad to see you when you find time to pop in!

June, I hope you are enjoying your new car!

Suzy, I hope you are enjoying your new TV!

Gail, I wish I could get as organized for meals as you are. It would be wonderful to know each day what dinner would be and only need to go to the store every 2 weeks. (My pantry also needs to be organized.

Broni, you are too good to D, D and D! (Thanks, Cyn, for the new name!) I hope your extra day of work for them is some help to the new "girl" whose law degree will be of little or no help for accounting. I hope you will be able to get them out of your head and sleep better soon!

Rolanda, a movie sounds like a great idea, but won't be happening here soon. We have some major cleaning and organizing to be done, as D2 will be bringing her new boyfriend for a week or so later this month. We have had so much going on since late last year with MIL's illness, hospitalizations, move, etc., that there is MUCH to be done here. We also have committed to a service project that needs to be done by mid-August that will require probably an additional 50 hours or so more than the approximately 25 hours put in already.

Tami, the chocolate cake sounds yummy! The experience at the pool with the campers might have been kind of funny if it hadn't taken so long.

Suzy, I am continually amazed by Three's family! You and your family have helped provide him with a perspective of what a family should be and a secure and happy place for as long as he feels comfortable staying there! What a lesson for him - and for your girls!

I apologize for not commenting to everyone! Please be assured that I'm thinking of all of you and sending out positive vibes and prayers for anyone who can use them! Hopefully I can read a few more pages and maybe get caught up tomorrow! Take care, Everyone, and Good Night from here (12:30 a.m.)!

I had a lovely lunch with Bev. We went to a fish restaurant overlooking the water. Sat in a seat in the sun and talked for three hours. If we had known earlier that she was coming to Sydney we could have organised her to meet more people. She will be going to Canberra on Monday and I think some there are trying to organise something for next Saturday. I have put a photo on my page.

June, your lunch sounds wonderful! That's the only problem with big sudoku meets, we don't get to talk for long enough with each person...

Julie, it's wonderful to have you back. I can't believe you've found time to read even as much as you have!

Cyn, sorry about your car! I understand why you might want a week of freedom first. I'm guessing they hoped you wouldn't notice the mistakes, or wouldn't want to be without the car again.

Three has come to visit for the night. I was worried he might not feel like he could do that so I was glad he came. We were laughing because he's not a real fan of chicken, which we eat a lot. He has to cook for the other people on Monday night. They have to pick a recipe out of the 4 Ingredients cook book. He said they all looked so hard he picked a chicken dish because it looked easier!!

Still no word from Robert. If I don't hear from him by noon, I'll be sure that he's had or is having surgery. What a miserable way to spend a holiday weekend.

Good Morning everyone, another sunny and warm, going for hot, morning here in Alabama.

thanks for all the good wishes for my hand, it is much better today. I actually went to sleep early, NO MEDS, and yep, I am shouting with joy. slept all night, woke with no pain.

I think the one day off from exercise allowed it time to repair whatever I had done to it in overwork. Today back to exercise and probably back to pain pills by nightfall, but doc seems to expect this when I told him that was what was happening. He keeps writing prescriptions for milder pills, so, I keep taking them so I can start again with using the hand next day.

JULIE, as busy as you stay, you are doing service project that requires another 50 hours? I do hope it can be done in smaller increments. Care to tell us what you are doing? Would really like to know if you are comfortable sharing.

HEIDI, yes, hospital is a miserable place to spend the holiday, unless you need it! With the new privacy laws, friends cannot find out how a patient is doing, you need to know a relative who can give you reports. Another law that sounded good till put into practice.

Suzy, glad that Three has come for a v isit and it is funny he is making chicken for the group. Did you give him pointers on his cooking techniques?

Well, that is enough typing for now, and I do not want to go back to one handed. I hope to get on and comment more later, but I did read all the posts and thought of each of you. Hugs to all, with extra to June's friend who goes to chemo again this coming week.

Hi all. Just a quick morning post. I have to go gnippohs for food. I made the brownies last night and want to make a cake today. Found a recipe on line for double chocolate kahlua cake from the cake mix doctor. You start with a mix and add a few ingredients. If I actually do make it I will let you know how it turns out. May not get back tonight so good vibes to everyone and a happy 4th to all topsiders. I am working the city 4th of july party tomorrow night so not sure when I will get back here.

I just heard from Robert. He hasn't had the surgery yet. The problem is not appendix or hernia. He has over 30 gall stones, and needs to have the gall bladder removed. They won't be scheduling the surgery until after the holiday weekend is over. At least they've given him strong painkillers until then.

Hi Heidi.
Oh the old gall bladder stones.
I have had that taken out, by keyhole surgery.
Hope he gets it scheduled sooner rather than later. At least he has some painkillers.
I have been outside trying to light the wood stove.
Hubby has gone off to get more wood and I am here trying to light it with crap wood that is either green or wet.
Men !!!!!!
I stink of smoke. I had to resort soaking a rag in kero and throwing that in to get it to light.

Morning all!
Hang on a minute while I get some more caffeine to get me going....

Ah, that's better. Thanks for waiting.

Happy 4th topsiders! I will have to spend some time today reminding the girls of their American heritage and what today (well, today here, tomorrow topside) means.

Tami, it's no good telling us how it tastes - we want to taste it too! I think I'm going to be searching out the cake mix doctor online....

Viv, 2 hours and and no update? I wonder if that means I haven't refreshed the page since I opened it... won't say nuffin until I do...

Heidi, I hope Robert's news is good. How can surgery be good? I guess if he is all fixed and out of pain. Sending thoughts and wishes his way. Does he know we 'know' him? If so please tell him I am thinking about him.

Ah poor Robert! I, too have had my gall bladder removed but in 1988 before the extended use of keyhole surgery. I have a scar about 15 inches long. Not pleasant - but the pain was worse beforehand.

It's Colin's birthday tomorrow and today we are having lunch with family and friends to celebrate at a local pub bistro where there is a great kids playground. Then Lachlan, Hayley and Madeline (11, 10 and 9) are coming home with us until tomorrow afternoon. So if I get back here before tomorrow evening I'll be lucky. I'm going to get the girls to do some scrapbooking tomorrow. Lachlan will probably take over this laptop. So if Jewel makes strange comments on FB, it will just be Lachlan!

Julie, hope you feel better after your acupuncture. As MizT said, if you're comfortable sharing about the service project, please do.

MizT, to us it sounds like you are making terrific progress with your hand, but since you have to deal with it every day it must seem like it's taking a long time. As others have said, don't push it too much.

Heidi, I am sending thoughts Robert's way. At least now he knows what it is and something can be done about it.

Suzy, hope Three enjoyed the night at your place. It's nice for him to know he has some place to visit where the people really care about him.
