Hi there all.
Wonderful to hear that Scooter is home Tricia.
Broni, you stayed with D&D much longer than expected.Hope you love the new job.
Julie, the antibiotics must be doing their job if they aren't going to do surgery.Good luck to Hubby.
What a constant worry to be on dialysis and then have a transplant.
Theresa,I hope they decide to do the hip replacement. At least it should relieve some pain and she can function for years before needing another one.
June, your poor head!Sewing aprons sounds like fun.As for cracking a whip,I have never tried but it doesn't sound easy.
Heidi, your sunroom will be a delight for you and all the birds.

Thank you to everyone who has helped welcome Scooter home again. she is being a lap kitty today, not happy unless asleep on one of our laps. Does not matter if I am doing exercises or reading or eating, does not matter if hubby is walking across the room, she will go up to him, up on hind legs and start to climb his blue jeans!! "you ARE going to hold me, you just do not know it yet" hehehe.

Please know, even if I did not comment on your post, I read and thought about you. This hand will let me type two handed for just so long, and then says NO MORE. It is saying that now. I think it is time for a nap.

Morning all!
Rolanda, I know and I was so jealous!

Apparently the exhibition will have 100 pieces, though I doubt that means 100 soldiers.

Tami, we are about 2 hours from the edge of Sydney, plus whatever it will take to get in to where the exhibition is. We will probably drive up, park, and take the train in to the city. We have a long time to plan it though, it's not until December.

MizT, Nom nom is a lap kitty this morning too. Hubby decided he didn't like being woken by her at 3am so she has been sent off to sleep alone. In the mornings she is very clingy now. Her sweet purr is very therapeutic...

Broni, you don't get that very often! I hope you enjoy it!

Good morning all. I had a 'bed dog' last night. The white fluffy thing Belinda bought for Laura. i did warm the bed by pouring hot water over a pottery plate, drying it off and rubbing it over the sheets. just enough to take the chill off them.
I let the animals out at 7am and the stupid little dog took off across the paddocks to the neighbours place. There was I in nightie, socks, ugg boots, a frosty morning, hitting a tennis ball to the other dogs hopeing to entice her back home. It did not work but she did come back soon after and is now shut in the yard!!!!
I did not get a headache but I do have a sore head, and a scar from the hairline to just above the eyebrow.
Lots to do today so the house will be clean for when Belinda goes back to school next week.
I think Heidi would take out the whip cracking. i did not do much when I was young (our cows were well trained) and like you Tricia I had not tried since.

Suzy, the display should be interesting, but nothing like the real thing. The mind boggles when you realise the number and extent of the 'army'. Remember if you come on a Sunday you can get train from Wollongong for $2.50 each.

Tricia, I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am about Scooter, been there many times...
Speaking of lap kitties, as we seem to be doing, Nibbles is nestled in the crook of my right arm atm. This means I am just able to move the mouse with my right hand, and all typing is done with my left, so read this slowly because that is how it is being posted!
On hubby's treatment nights, we have to exclude her from the bedroom, the last thing we need is the thought of her getting up in the middle of the night to investigate or fight with Buzzclick (my name for the machine!). For the first couple of times she was not a happy kitty. She would scratch at the door at all times of the night, and meow pitifully every time she heard us speak. Now, she has grudgingly accepted that every second night, she has to sleep in her bed next to my computer, but the second she knows Daddy is off the machine, she is at the door waiting for me to open it. Then it is Mew Purr Mew Purr for the next half hour, which is when we call her Velcro Kitty, because her paws are so outstretched and padding that she makes noises as she walks across the carpet!

good night Tami, sleep well.

Rolanda, wonderful photo, you and all the soldiers, thanks for sharing.

Gail, one handed typing sure takes longer, doesn't it? Your kitty is not spoiled, not a bit more than ours are hehehe.

June, you got a big boo-boo over that much of your forehead. Too too close to your eye, also, hope all is well soon.

Time to get my meds and then to get to bed. Hugs.

Just did a good deed. Robert was out on the interstate this evening, on his motorcycle, and it broke down. He spent 2 hours calling people to try to find someone with a trailer that could haul it to a repair shop. He finally called me. It was a 45 minute drive and he was on a dangerous curve. But we got it loaded and to the repair place. I just got home.

Enjoy your new/old dog.

He tried to get hold of biker friends first, and people who were a lot closer to his location. He really didn't want to bother me.

Now I'd better feed the dogs.

Good Evening, SA9A! I'm hoping everyone has had a good day!

Hi, Heidi, MizT, June, Suzy, Rolanda, Tami, Nola, Broni, Gail, Theresa, and anyone I have missed!

Heidi, I'm sorry your dogs' barking and knocking over cages prevented you from having a good night's sleep last night. Fingers crossed that they have learned their lesson and won't give you a repeat! Your sunroom will soon be done! Until you mentioned it, I had forgotten how long measuring, cutting, nailing, and painting trim takes.

Hooray! MizT, good news that Scooter (the prodigal daughter) has returned home and is healthy and appears to be well cared for. Some good samaritan must have taken pity on her being out in the heat and humidity and provided a temporary home. Having a contact number on her collar may be helpful for her future wanderings.

June, your cold must be better, as busy as you have been! Your daughter will be pleasantly surprised when she returns home! I hope you are warm enough, and I hope the goose egg on your head isn't too painful! I hope you are able to sleep well!

Suzy, enjoy the quieter times due to school holidays! I hope Three is benefitting from all of the experiences he is having! Wishing him all the best! I hope the Pride gig at the fancy schmancy place went well! It will be a marvelous experience to be able to view some of the Terra Cotta Army - and to be able to do it without leaving Australia will be wonderful!

Wow, Tami, another month of camp, then a mere 3 days before you return to school! What a dedicated woman you are! I'm sure your students and campers benefit tremendously! (Plus, that kind of schedule should keep you off the streets and out of trouble!)

Broni, I am SO glad you are rid of D, D, and D, and that things are going well in your "new" job! I'm so glad you were able to have some quiet time at home alone today! Enjoy!

June, I'm sorry that dog caused extra work for you - and sorry to hear about the scar! That must have been quite a board that met your forehead! I hope the soreness soon dissipates! I know your D's appreciate you, and you do so much for them! Another one of my heroes here!

MizT, a whip-cracking contest would be interesting! Do we have any contestants besides you, June and Heidi? I wonder if Rena can crack a whip?

Gail, I enjoyed your story about BuzzClick and Velcro Kitty! Do you provide a treat for her by her bed to show your appreciation? It's good to know that she is making the adjustment to her new role! During the time hubby was very ill and on dialysis, one of our cats became his "guardian" and spent most of her time in his lap or beside him. (This is the same cat that bit him in April, which sent him to the Emergency Room and a day of hospitalization and IV antibiotics.)

Thank you for sharing your picture, Rolanda! The size of the finding boggles the mind. I visited Mr. Google, and this is what I found: "The figures include warriors, cha

Sorry, I've done it again.

Thank you for sharing your picture, Rolanda! The size of the finding boggles the mind. I visited Mr. Google, and this is what I found: "The figures include warriors, chariots, horses, officials, acrobats, strongmen, and musicians. Current estimates are that in the three pits containing the Terracotta Army there were over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses, the majority of which are still buried in the pits."

Good Night to Tami and MizT, and probably to Heidi and Theresa rather soon. It's nearly 11:45 p.m. here, so I'll be heading to bed soon. Good Night, Everyone!

Heidi, I'm glad you were able to help Robert! (Wait . . . he was riding his motorcycle? Was he feeling better?) I hope the new rescue collie will make a quick adjustment to your new home - and likes birds! I suspect you'll be off to bed after the dogs are fed, so Good Night and pleasant dreams to you!

Gail, I don't think any of us have spoiled cats - or dogs - or pets of any kind. (Yah, right, we're all soft touches.)

Robert's motorcycle is his only transportation since his van committed suicide. He had an appointment in Louisville to buy a truck. That's where he was heading when the drive chain broke on the bike.
He had an appointment this morning with his doctor to discuss the gallbladder. He was in so much discomfort throughout his abdomen that they've decided to do a colonoscopy before doing the gall bladder surgery. The colonoscopy is scheduled for next Thursday. They haven't scheduled the gall bladder surgery yet.

Julie, I used to be able to crack a whip but that was when I was a young whipper snapper! Like June not sure I would be any competition for Heidi.
MizT, glad Scooter is home and like Dag I NEVER spoil my animals. Have you ever heard a 30kg basset with paws the size of pigs trotters walk across a wooden floor? Is not a little tip tap Zusy!

Brenda, I know exactly what you mean. When the boys are upstairs, I can hear every footstep. They are 9 and 13 and I know the noise will just get louder.
Heidi, I would know to call you first. You are the type that will always help a friend in need. I feel bad for Robert having to wait so long for surgery. I hope he gets better soon.
Julie, there are two very good reasons why I work at camp for the summer: money and money If I didn't work I would be bored and end up going to the mall most days. That means I would spend money I didn't have. The second reason, the extra money helps. How do you know that I don't cause trouble at camp???

morning friends, a bit cooler here this morning for a change. I did a bit of cleaning out of the car. hubby thinks the back seat area is a storage compartment and a trash can! He tosses empty cola bottles and cans, junk mail, and then opens the side door and stores tools, and auto care items in with the trash. Then he wonders why he cannot find things. I found a new tool for cleaning battery terminals, in a sack, and an old one under the seat. MEN! Did not finish, did you know you must use both hands to clean out a car?? I did get the front compartment cleaned and made a dent in the back.

Rolanda, got your e-mail, thank you.

Must be off to post office, they are not open long on Saturdays. I forgot that when I sat down here to read and comment. I managed to read, so ahead of the game. Later, hugs!

Tricia, my husband would say the same thing about my car. I have managed to keep the van clean. When I was single, everything ended up in my back seat. Bags, clothing, trash, school books, whatever else I had

Hubby is going out for a few minutes so I am taking my fashion consultants (the beastie boys) and going to the mall. Macy's is having a big sale and maybe I will get lucky. If not, I can at least say hello to some friends who still work there. I worked for Macy's for 13 years before I became a teacher and still know a lot of the people.

Heidi, even with the delays your sunroom is going up in record time compared to the times I'm used to. Does the room have a door so if the dogs have a bad night like the other night the bird cages are safe?

Tami, I hope you find some bargains!

Our animals aren't spoiled at all. Well, the horses and dogs aren't. The cat and birds on the other hand.... She can't decide whether to eat her breakfast or sit on my lap because she was lonely last night...

Suzy, I did get some bargains. I went into the fitting room with 10 shirts to try on. I came out with 4 that fit and the boys liked. I went to one of my friends to check me out (they work on commission) and ended up only taking three. I found a shirt for Mitchell and two for my day. The total was $70, don't remember the exact amount and dad is paying me back $16. Not too bad. Next week I am supposed to take me niece for a girls day out.

Suzy, your math is right. My dads shirts were $8 each, Mitchell's was $10 and I got three: $19, $11.50 and $10. They are all for school. Most of my clothes are years old. I decided to treat myself this summer to some new things. I won't be able to spend as much as I want, but I can definitely get some stuff. I really need new shoes. That is the hardest for me to find.

I hate buying shoes! I make the mistake of going shopping with something in mind. When I can't find it I walk away with nothing! Luckily when I start teaching I will be restricted to leather shoes that cover my foot - science lab rules. It means I don't have to worry about being creative.

Suzy, when will you be starting to teach?
We did not start to travel until our family had finished school. We are now trying to do as much as possible while we are physically able. Once you turn 70 or have a major illness the travel insurance becomes prohibitive.
Our cat does not like to sit on our lap. She does get on the end of the bed in winter. She is as spoilt as she wil allow.
